A Lifeguard Legend. Incredible class. Life altering.

Eddie V was and will continue to be the man to take an EMT course from. He has a great expertise in the field being a RN and a State Lifeguard for many years. Great attitude and super helpful. Great teacher overall and an outstanding person. Vodrazka will go beyond the limits of the classroom to help you in anyway. Eddie V is the Man.

This course had two instructors: E. Vodraska and D. Saner. Both instructors are very knowledgeable and care about the subject manner and the students. It is not an easy course and guidelines will be enforced. E. Vodraska was able to teach the subject manner in a way that married the technical with practical while keeping it interesting.

This is a difficult and time consuming class. The right instuctor makes all the difference and that instructor is Eddie V, as he will insist you call him. Great guy, great teacher, will become a great friend. He has taught many of the city and state lifeguards and they are better because of him.

Eddy is a great guy. He has become a great friend of mine. He is very reliable and understanding. He knows his sh*t so listen up. The class is very time consuming and difficult so make sure you put in the extra hours at home! Good luck!

Ed V was not only one of the greatest teachers I have ever had encountered but one of the most prepared. The difference between a good teacher and a person who reads lectures off a powerpoint is passion, which Ed displayed everyday he showed up to class. Vodrazka is the best. Take his EMT course. Do it.

Ed has taught this plenty, and has it down.Ed's way to teach gets the student started excellently but he doesn't, can't and shouldn't be expected to do all the work. The student has to take what he gives them and work hard to see it through. Ed is engaging, charismatic, helpful, tolerant and generous. He loves teaching the class, and it shows.

Eddie V is the best... his passion is making the southern california lifeguards the best they can be. his class is the best. he wants you to succeed and you will if you want it. take his class.

Eddy V. Is probably one of the best teachers I had come to know. His overall teaching method is simply fantastic and I would advise anyone who wants to become a good lifeguard or EMT that they should at least meet Ed. Ed V. is awesome as a awesome man. The class I was enrolled in is mostly for lifeguards but I was glad I stayed in (Im not a lifeguard). He gives plenty of life experiences and makes the class very interesting. Strongly recommend Ed.

Mr. Vodrazka is a great professor. His experience in the field is immense. He teaching style is fluid which allows for lessons from the book as well as from real life. He does expect you do conduct yourself professionally (come on time, be prepared). Through this class you will receive all the tools to become an effective EMT.

Great instructor! Quizzes are pretty easy, if you are paying attention. The midterm and final are pretty challenging but if you listen to what is emphasized by Vodrazka, you'll do just fine! He tries to be a hard ass in the beginning to intimidate the weak hearted but he's really a goofy fellow. Great class!

Eddie has to be one of the most enthusiastic teachers I've ever come across. He's extremely approachable too. The EMT course is a commitment, but he wants to see everyone pass and helps as much as he can. As many of the students say "He's just stoked on life."

By far the best professor I have ever had. Topics that seemed like ancient greek were made to seem like abc's when Mr. Vodrazka taught them. I would recommend anyone going into the emt field go through his class. There is no way you can not pass the national registry under his teaching!!!!

Vodrazka is a GREAT teacher who is passionate about the subject. The 4-5 hours of class seemed to go by quickly when he was teaching because his lectures were interesting & amusing and not just straight out of the book. If you are serious about this career field I would highly recommend you take his class.

One of the greatest teacher I've ever had! His story telling that he experienced throughout his career as an EMT lifeguard to a nurse we're perfect examples so we could understand each chapter.

His experience is way beyond the scope of this class and he has real world stories that relate to nearly every aspect of the course. He is very passionate about this class and how his students do which makes the classroom environment great. The class is difficult but if you listen to the lectures and get a couple of hours of studying a week in, you should be fine. He (and Saner) both share real experiences that made it exciting to go into the next chapter.

The best teacher you could have for this class

If you are a lifeguard and want to be an EMT, this is your best bet, hands down. Teaches how to get through the tests, and more importantly, what to do in the real world to save a life.

Ed has great stories that make class insteresting and very relatable. Would definitely recommend taking a class from him, especially if you are a lifeguard going for EMT. He has tons of experience in the field and brings it to the classroom. Inspiring at the least.

Mr. Vodrazka is the best teacher I have ever had, and one of my biggest role models. He teaches with sincerity and enthusiasm, and creates a phenomenal learning environment. A great testimony to his mentality is his reason and motivation for teaching; pure enjoyment. As a lifeguard under Mr. Vodrazka, I have been blessed with his instruction.

Wow!! where to even begin. Ed is the kind of teacher who truly cares about his students. It is obvious in the way he teaches that he knows what it takes to conquer the ups and downs of the medical field, and wants nothing more for his students to be out there experiencing it for themselves. Awesome! What a class! So much info learned in such little time. Vodraska couldn't have made it much more interesting. Not only did he make it interesting but he made it an enjoyable experience. A true role model for every student!

Ed brings the real life prospective into the course material to make the class both interesting and fun. He does not use the text book lectures but he takes the time to create his own which are more interesting anyways. This course requires lots of reading and multiple test during the week. Ed is great, he prepares you for the real world.

I don't think this class would've been the same with any other teacher. Eddy V is amazing! Eddie V is the coolest teacher I think I have ever had. He is the most respectful and compassionate teacher I've ever had. He is a strong motivator, he keeps students engaged, and he is very good at making students work hard and then rewarding them for their efforts. If you have the chance, take this guy's class. I missed one class and made it up with the other instructors. Eddie V is by far the best EMT instructor at Miramar. Has awesome slideshows and doesn't just instruct from the book. Definitely choose him as your instructor if you can. Don't show up on the first day without your CPR card and you're golden!

Eddie V. gave attention to every student. He clearly outlined what was expected, and graded you based on that criteria. His sense of humor and creative power points presentations kept me engaged during his lectures. I would definitely like to take another class taught by him.

The EMT curriculum was a little lecture heavy by nature, but the way Eddie delivered the lessons made the class fly by and was entertaining. And all his years experience in the field helped relay the information in a way easy to retain

My EMT class met twice a week, for five and a half hours each day. It was longer than any other class I had ever taken, and required a significant amount of commitment to both learning the reading material and performing the skills. Thankfully, Eddie made those four months go by like a breeze, all while leaving me well-equipped to do the job.

Ed is an amazing person. He has so much experience in the field and he is so funny!! This class requires effort, but the skills are life saving. All the hard work is 100% worth it. This has been the best experience of my life.

Ed was an amazing instructor EMGM 105A is course you need to take to get your EMT-b cert. He was an amazing instructor that had a lot of experience and gave a lot of good feedback and examples from his career as a EMT, Lifeguard, Registered Nurse, and Police Officer.

All tests are the same between instructors, given out by Mary so the class you pick doesnt make a huge diff to grades except the group project maybe. Ed is a great instructor, hes fun and makes the class enjoyable. We also had 2 instructors. I highly recommend using the online MyBrady "practice" tests, code is cheaper than full package textbook

Best professor I have ever had. The way he communicates during his lectures are not only engaging but makes you want to the class session to never end. He uses real world examples and makes you appreciate the the line of work even more. Becoming a nurse now because of this class. He coteaches this course, the other guy puts in no effort or care.
