Very hot teacher! Sometimes it was hard to concentrate. He doesn't give homework. But the tests are usually every other week. If you miss a class it is very hard to catch up. So plan to be there every day... besides you wouldn't want to miss his cute butt

Poor teacher. He tries hard, but is a poor communicator. Doesn't compare the tests to the chapters. We had stuff on our first test that wasn't covered until 5 chapters later. I doubt if hardly anybody who was in my class would take him again.

he knows his math and is knowledgeable, however for this class i feel his heart wasn't into it.i have a high gpa and study hard, but don't feel we were properly prepared. this is the first class i've done poorly in. very poor preparation in preparing us.
He was a very knowledgeable. He has his own personal way of preparing the class for everything. I would recommand him to anyone who is looking for a math professor.
He is a good professor. I would recommend him for math. He knows his stuff and is willing to help you if you have trouble. The key is to ask questions, if you do not ask questions or say you don't get it then he will just think everyone knows and move on.
Nice guy, but teaches on one chapter while testing on another. Very confusing. Also, does not give partial credit on tests, doesn't want you to show your work at all!
I would recommend this professor to other students. But you have to ask questions and do your homework, or you will not know what is going on in the class.
Could not communicate effectively. Speaks in ebonics sometimes. His cell phone rung during class on several occasions (very unprofessional, once is okay but not 3 times). His heart doesnt seem to be in his job, seems like he's just there for a paycheck

Would not suggest this class to my worst enemy. Very difficult and not willing to assist students AT ALL!!! Very difficult to follow him and the lessons being taught. A waiste of my time and money.
He was one of the worst professors I've had. He told us from the beginning that he did not do word problems in college so how well can he teach them? He only explained the problems that we could already read in the examples. He also told several people that he didn't have time to explain a problem.
Great professor. Makes sure you understand before you move on. Relates well with students. Always helpful and accommodating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Made a hard class easy to understand. Other students mentioned 'ebonics'...shows how racism is everywhere...what a shame some are so closed-minded.
He is hard to understand sometimes, and I never left his class with an understanding. Sprang the final on us the week before the original final. So those who had not so good grades in hope of redeeming themselves on final lost out. Doesn't ever like to stand to teach. not so good of a teacher.
The class is pretty easy. He doesn't give homework, but you have to do the Ch. Review before he'll give you a test. The class is really boring, I found myself staring at the clock. He stays on a problem a long time if someone doesn't understand, that's why it's boring.
The worst of worst teachers in math. He letcures the whole time, he doesn't explain it well,is only there for the paycheck and can't understand why he gets complaints on his teaching.
Hard to follow b/c He's always "goin-thru-the-process." I've learned nothing new, I use high school knowlege 4 tests. He lets u choose what 2 do 4 HW, but it screws you 2x if u don't do it. -20 on tests, then it counts against ur HW avg(last test) dont take class or u will be lost in the processes!
This is one of the best teachers i have ever had, whoever says he is a bad teacher is crazy, he explains everything very well and is very helpful and patient. If you are taking college algebra, i strongly recommend him, he is also very funny which is a big plus in a math class
AWFUL! SPEAKS EBONICS! Cannot believe he has a MASTERS DEGREE!!! I would not recommend this class for anyone, do not take him, I walked out the first day of class. He is not worth $200 for the class.
I only recamend this teacher if you are a wiz in math and know how to do it.I had to teach myself the whole time the homework is insane i had now life every min was spent doing homework.He doesn't explain things well and takls so fast that half the time i had no idea waht he was sying.His test were horrible im just luckey i passed.
This was one of the best math teachers I have ever had. He was very helpful and the class was very easy. Has a great sense of humor! I use to hate math, but I learned that is it not so bad after all. But this class is just like any, you have to apply yourself and not expect the teacher to do all of the work.
I have taken this class before with other professors and was not able to pass it. In the summer of 05 took the class with professor Battle and passed it with a B. He is a good professor and you will really learn math and if you have problems he will help you. He teaches math to you step by step.
I loved Prof Battle. He makes math interesting. Very funny and laid back. Highly Recommended if you want to learn math and you have a sense of humor.

He's a nice guy, but he talks so fast that it's hard to understand him.
Ienjoyed the class. He was right that you have to practice the problems in order to understand it. Don't expect to get it right away. So it really is all on you whether you do well or not.He's definitely not just going to give it to you on a silver platter. Everything he said made sense.
Mr. Battle talks FAST and doesn't really care if anyone listens. He whistles songs during class and tries to be funny the entire time. He is actually quite funny - but that didn't help me to understand Algebra. I approached him about not understanding and his response was 'go get a tutor'. He was also absent a lot and sent a VERY ODD substitute.
he assigns way too much HW and does not grade it until after the test so you fail almost every test. this was the first class i ever had to drop because he was just a horrible unclear professor who didnt help you at all.
This is not an easy class, and he teaches very quickly. This is a class for someone who finds math easy
He focuses on the important things only. He make things very clear and understandable by showing different easy ways of solving problems. He emphasizes things He thinks students might have problem with. He is always asking his students to ask him question if they don't understand something.He sometimes goes fast but you can always stop him.
absolutley horrible. who has time to do 200 hw problems a week that he doesnt collect until test day. which is retarded because if youre doing the hw wrong you wont know until you get your test back. not the worst teacher but much better ones around...
Awesome, goes a little fast but will explain. Gives a lot of HW but hey it is college suck it up & do it. All together he never missed class w/ us & always stayed if one of us had a question after class. Nice guy.
I took this class in the summer, and Well The class was an easy class, but Prof, Battle as a teacher is not very good. he doesnt know how to explain anything, he was later to every class. HE, knows how to do the math, but he doesnt know how to explain what he is doing. If you are not good in math PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HIM.
I liked Battle. I did bad on 2 tests but that was b/c I wasn't focused on the HW. He will go out of his way to help. Kudos for that. He's funny---but the most important thing is if you don't understand something....ASK HIM TO HELP YOU. He'll do it. He doesn't care.

I'm an older student, been outta school for 12 years. I had Mr. Battle for Intermediate and College Algebra. Point blank - Do the assignments and ask the questions and you will learn something and pass. If you are looking for a free ride, find another teacher. I got an A in both his classes and he made it an absolute joy to attend class each time.
Battle was helpfull in every way possible. There was never a time that I could not have gone to him for help. Simply put, the effort given reflects on your grade.

I got a D the first time around and an A with him.I don't know squat about math but he makes everything so clear. He is funny. I highly reccomend this class especially if you don't know anything about math ;0)

I had Mr. Battle for Internediate & College Algebra. I got A's in both. Math is in no way my best subject. He gives multiple choice tests; homework adds up to a test grade and is averaged in with your tests scores. So, it's like he gives you a 100 to average in with all your other tests. What more could you want? The final only helps you, doesn't hurt you.
He is a really good professor, his test are multiple choice. I like the way he teaches, his structure is very organized!! Take this class....
Good class. He makes the class more interesting with a little laugh. You can say that he is one of the friends when it comes to teaching, in other words, he takes things easy. its lie your having a friend teach you math. But its math do you gottta go ur past ":s
Prof. Battle is the S***. The man looks like he should be a linebacker for the bucs so how he ended up a math prof. is beyond me. He makes math class fun! Which is almost impossible. He teaches only parts of the chapters that he feels are important(usually the easy ones) i HIGHLY recommend him!
THE BEST PROF. EVER. WAS MY SECOND ATTEMPT ON COLLEGE ALGEBRA, FIRST ATTEMPT I GOT AN "F", I PASSED PROF BATTLES CLASS WITH AN "A". TEACHES ONLY WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR THE TEST, IS CLEAR AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND, AND GIVES YOU SHORTCUTS ON PROBLEMS. VERY VERY EASY, VERY VERY GOOD.

Not a good professor ! He knows math, he really does, he is very intelligent however that isn't the only requirement to be a good professor. He doesn't know HOW to teach. He doesnt explain anything, he goes over like he is reviewing for a test, he needs make us work IN class and TEACH us. That's the only problem I have.

Must go to lab each week dont worry about your lab grade just do it. For test go over your notes. Responsible for ANY material in that part of the Ch.. Goes fast, unorganized, but just ask questions. Careful with Test Grades look at your test his key has slip a FEW times...Must be on top to get fixed

I can't say enough TAKE HIM!! I have no idea what others here are talking about. This was my best math class ever! He keeps everything down to earth, he teaches you what you need to know & doesn't waste time on confusing you with the 5 million other things. Awesome class, I thought he was very organized, trust me I suck at math, TAKE HIM!!

He is a great teacher but if you are not good at math don't take him. He is not very helpful when it comes to the mathlab work. He will let you know that he doesn't have anything to do with that and that's two different things. You will need to go to the lab to get help from the lab instructors. I do not recommend him if you are not good in math.
Had Mr Battle for College Algebra, he's the man. Keeps things light (funny) in class and very clear on what he will test on. Very straightforward. Class was pretty much going through the examples for each lesson and answering questions. Too bad he doesn't teach the upper math courses...
He's a real cool guy with a great sense of humor given the subject which is tough on anyone who is frightend of mathmatics. The lab sucks and fact that it forces you to learn things that the professor won't makes it very time consuming. He's great though and will definity assist in anyway possible.

I didn't learn much from him. I went for tutoring everyday after class! Too bad the lab requires you to learn things that the professor never will. Battle explains the material but probably not well enough...
Battle is a very incompetent teacher who really knows nothing about College Trig material. My classmates and I are always correcting him, and when you ask him a question, he doesn't know the answer...He tries to make up random BS that sounds right, but he's really beating around the bush looking for an answer.
If you suck at math and need a teacher who is clear, take him. Do the homework, because he gives you extra credit on tests. One time i missed 6 questions out of 26 and i got an 88%, instead of 76% :) Take him for a GPA Booster! Also, hes funny and good to look at.
If you are horrible in math take Professor Battle. He is extremely disorganzied which works in your favor. He does not return e mails! He will pass you!!! Do the homework and take notes. His final is cumulative but he gives you your grade the last day of class before he even grades the final exam.
This teacher was a joke he doesnt know his stuff! he is totally unorganized doesnt respond clearly to questions at all. One time we had a substitute and i learned more from the sub that i did from dumb battle all semester.. He is a useless waste of valencia's money... they can do better
Great guy. I had a lot of work obligations. He was very understanding. DOES NOT CHECK EMAILS. Is fair about challenging test questions. Gives you one makeup test, which I really needed. Just go to class, no such thing as a stupid question. Easy class overall.
Do yourself and your wallet a favor and stay out of this guy class. He only teaches 15% of what you will expect on the homeworks, and all his exams are online(No multi-choice answers) so if you struggle with the lab work, you will struggle with his exams as well. He also spends more time cracking jokes then making sure you understand the concept.
I found him very interesting, he finds a way to make the class interesting, If you have the slightest bit of algebra history you will do fine in his class, unlike other professors, he encourages you to ask questions. He is real relaxed about attendance, and I thought he was hilarious.
Took Mr. Battle for Trig. He has said on more than one occasion "I hate Trig". Well, you're in the wrong profession, buddy. And it shows. He really don't know how to explain trig concepts at all. And most people in the class seem to feel clueless. But he's got a good sense of humor and the class is not stressful at all. You ust won't learn anything
This teacher is not for someone who needs motivation in math! He does not care for attendance and requires you to use my mathlab for homework. Progress test worth 50%,final 10%,homework 20%, Quiz 20%. I Did all my homework but did horrible on test! Test is not like labs!! Youll need to put alot of study time because he is not very clear.

I recently took Intermediate Algebra with Professor Battle. Honestly, I must say that I am blessed to have been in his class because he sure tried everything possible to help me when i was really struggling in the class.Glory to God,and thanks to Mr.Battle,I passed with C, which is to me, A+. This professor is horrible!!! I took him in the Fall 2012, and the entire classed FAILED. I didn't even know that was possible for him to do.
Horrible, Horrible Professor. He is extremely lazy and won't take the extra time/effort to help you. ALL exams/quizes are on the computer. No multiple choice at all. If you have difficulty with Algebra, DON"T take his class. Save your money and take another professor who will take the time to teach you!
