i love this teacher. he is very helpful and even though i am taking remedial math he never makes me feel stupid or like i should "already know it". his homework is pretty easy and he accepts questions on the hw at the beginning of class. which is very helpful because then you actually learn the work.

I took him for the 0302/0303 flex and then for college algebra. He is the best teacher I've ever had. I cannot even express how wonderful he his. He's so nice and really funny too! He never gets upset if you don't understand and will go over things over and over again. The man has never ending patiences. His grading system is great too.

I took Mr. Bishop for statistics and I do have to say that he is a great teacher. However, he is very unorganized and doesn't really keep you updated as far as your grades go. He takes forever to grade homework and quizzes. Easy teacher, just wish he was more organized.

I took his elementary and intermediate alegebra classes and he really helped me to understand what was going on. if I even had a confused look on my face he would come over and ask me if I was getting it. this is the first time I have made and a in college! He was the greatest math teacher I have ever had! Math was never my subject, and somehow he just made everything clear to me. I've never come close to getting the grades I have and understanding math. He's a GREAT teacher =)

I would recommend this teacher for on-campus classes, but not for an online class. Had a hard time with the online class and was only able to fully understand when I went in for the mid-term and final exam reviews. Prof. Bishop does a good job of explaining in person but the online class still has some kinks.

Explains the material being covered very well, and he shows many examples. He writes notes, and if you take good notes you will do very well in the class.

Mr.Bishop is the greatest teacher ever. He was my teacher for Math 0302-0303 flex and Math 1314, and I would recomend him to anyone. I hated math before, but now I kind of like it. Mr. Bishop is fantastic professor. He classes fill up quick, so you have to be fast to get in. However, I do have one problem with him. He is a very hard grader on tests. He's taken off a lot of points on pretty small stuff. Other than that, he is a fantastic teacher. You can tell he really cares about his students and wants everyone to pass.

I thought he was a great teacher! I took his flex class for 302-303 and it was a fast paced class with lots to learn. He made himself available when needed and he really cared about whether you pass or not. He does grade hard on his tests, but he is preparing you for Algebra. It was fun and I hope to see him again for Algebra!

Hard class! Lots of work! Only take online if you have self-discipline. Great professor, he holds review sessions and is always willing to help. Got and A and worked for it. Midterm test is hard, and final is easy. If you do the reviews for exams you get 5 points extra credit and there is an optional paper at the end of the course for extra points.

This must have been my favorite class. Before taking this class i hated math, Mr. Bishop made it very interesting and easy to learn. He gives you skeleton notes for everything. He is big on groups and sometimes you even take quiz/test as a group. I'd take this class again if i could.

Professor Bishop is the best math professor I have ever had! He is extremely helpful and answers any questions you may have. Took this class during the summer. Its a lot of work per week. 4 quizzes 3 exams. The Final is on paper. The review is very similar to test. Just need to know that formulas. Final is open book open notes. Discussions every week which are Easy. Respond back to email quickly. Overall this was a easy class if you do your work.

Mr Bishop was a dynamic and he knows his math! I took both pre-stat and stats with him in a flex course. Turned in homework for grades in pre-stat, but not in stats. I took online Statistics class with Prof. Bishop. Clear instructions on syllabus. He gives weekly updates and offered review sessions for midterm and final exams. I made an A in the class. Took Online 1442 Summer 8 week course. Passed with a B+ in the course, everything is done through Pearson's so your going to have to purchase the online access code. It wasn't a real difficult course, but there was a lot stuff crammed into the summer course. Make sure you do Final Review, and you should get an A.

Professor Bishop is nothing less than an amazing professor. He knows what he is doing and knows how to teach it. Amazing guy to get to know. He cares about his students and offers to help you pick your grade up.

Took Mr. Bishops online stats class during the summer (8wk). The material he provides is easy, and LOTS of HW. Do the work and you will pass with an A. He is available by phone and text, and is extremely helpful! I recommend him for Face to Face as well as Online. :)

Took an online 8-week summer session and it was fairly easy. Yes there is a lot of homework but the homework/reviews look almost identical to the midterm and final exam. He provides tons of resources to understand the content and how to solve the problems given. There are weekly due dates but you also have the option to work ahead and finish early.

I wish he was my professor for all of my math courses. He goes sort of fast, but he'll help you during office hours. He shows you why things are the way they are in math. It's not necessary to bring a notebook in class because he prints out notes for everyone. He's very kind and sees potential in everyone.

I enjoyed taking this class. Attendance is mandatory. I really enjoyed the group work. He wants you to pass this class and will do what he can to help you. His office hours are very helpful and if you aren't able to make the office hours, he's able to work around your schedule. He's very good at giving instruction.

Professor Bishop is one of the best professors I've had at Vista. He made math so easy and understandable. Majority of the work is group work and he walks around monitoring. He does assign multiple pages of homework so those grades matter A LOT.

Professor Bishop was awesome! Algebra is my weakest subject, but I made sure to ask questions when I didn't understand and took advantage of the tutoring he offers prior to class. This was very helpful and beneficial. If you're someone who struggles as well, you won't regret taking his course!

If youre thinking about taking this professor, DO IT. HURRY. I was dreading this semester because numbers/math scare me but he provides videos that go over exactly what you need to know as well as reviews that mirror the exam. It quickly became my favorite class. I wish I would have taken him for a previous math class tbh. Just do the assignments.

Made math VERY UNDERSTANDABLE. I am not a math person at all, and he was able to walk me through the steps and made it super enjoyable to follow along. He is very funny and engaging. 10/10 would take again!

Professor Bishop was the perfect professor to take after a break from school. I came back nervous of my math skills, but he was absolutely amazing. Everyday he had a greate attitude and he knows how to teach effectively. I never left a class confused about a certain topic. Take him if you can 100%

Mr.Bishop made math fun again for me, before his class I despised math. I leave his class not only enjoying math but loving it. He's very understanding, never once made me feel less than if I had a question. I enjoyed his class and wish I could take him again. You should 100% take Mr.Bishop's class if you want to learn to love and excel at math.

I took this course fully online. Professor Bishop always responded back to my emails. He would give out about 2 homework assignments a week plus weekly quizzes which were problems similar to the homework. I would definitely recommend his class if you want to have a higher chance of passing statistics!

Prior to taking this class i was terrible at algebra however, he makes it very easy to understand. I would definitely recommend him if you struggle at math! As long as you do your homework and study for exams you will pass

Professor Bishop is awesome! I took his 8 week stats course online. He sets up everything for you to succeed. Your exams reflect homework & quizzes. I used a basic inexpensive calculator TI-30Xa and the resources (Statdisk or Statcrunch) will be enough to work on problems. You don't have to be good in math since you will be taught well.

Prof Bishop was amazing he really helps you understand math I was very nervous coming back in but he really helped and he is very understanding if you actually put in the work. Definitely recommend 10/10

I took Elementary Statistics with Professor Bishop for Fall 2024 and it was such an easy course! He's a great teacher and breaks down concepts for you that make it easier to understand. Test are open notes and homework is mostly participation grades. Highly recommend taking him for stats! :)

His lectures are to help those who are bad at math like me. He goes through hand out notes with us that we can reference on our HW, tests, and exams. For a final, you will have to work in a group. His teaching style allowed me to grasp statistic concepts.

Prof Bishop is clear with what he expects from you.. Read the chapters to learn the material. He does provide a video & some example problems with each module but if math is not your strong subject, you'd be better off doing in-person instead of online. Stay on top of your assignments! Do every HW assignment and quizzes & exams won't pose a problem

Mr. Bishop is a very good professor and does a great job at teaching his student! The only con is he's a pretty tough grader, one tiny small mistakes in test he will mark off points, overall great cares abt his students!

Professor Bishop is such a caring professor. He loves math and wants everyone to succeed. I was unable to make it to his office hours due to my limited schedule. He would set up zooms at 9PM or would be a text away since I worked on homework once the house was silent. Stats was my favorite class. Do the work and you will pass.

He's very good at explaining and he breaks everything down so it's easier to understand. He's a bit of a tough grader, but the feedback is good and he'll still give you credit as long as you try. He also had the lectures on Canvas (at least for this course) which were very helpful. Overall, if you're attentive and you try, you'll pass his class.

Do you hate math? Are you bad with algebra? If so, this is the guy for you. His notes and teaching style are superb, and I walked away actually understanding and (dare I say) having enjoyed learning statistics. You'll get plenty of help and all the tools you need to succeed. Just do the homework and take detailed notes- you'll be fine.

It's imperative you pay attention or you will get lost. Also make sure to invest in a folder just for this because, at least in my class, it was almost all physical work/notes! He is understanding, He teaches the long way to solve problems before showing us the easy way (stat disk, calculator, etc..) so we grasp the concept. Have an attention span.

Mr. Bishop made everything clear on the syllabus, so there were no surprises. He also makes the lectures clear and easy to understand.

Mr. Bishop made stats very clear and easy to understand. You will receive a good grade if you show up to the lectures and pay attention + do the notes and reviews for the test (they're open notes). Group work was essential and that did give me some headache though.
