COME TO CLASS. hes a good teacher and always has interesting conversations in class. come to class nad be on time. if you do that and ask good questions, you should be fine. hes more than willing to help and because of that, the class is not too difficult. take any class from him! :)

That is strange that someone said "nnnn" I thought Edgard was very good. He taught the Fridays class and with out him this class would have been a disaster. The only thing Gyurko did was to show us the movie on Monday and Wednesday; Edgard is the one that really taught this class.

Honestly the best Spanish professor I've had at the U. He knows so much about everything and truly wants everyone to get interested. If you work with him on your grade he will do anything to get you the grade you want. Show up on time and you're golden. Take any of his classes, best teacher I've have here.

This was a difficult class. Not every day do you go into a class for a deep philosophical social and cultural analysis. I thought this was a run of the mill Chicano class, boy was I wrong. Edgard is unique in his style and my head hurt all the time after class. Read some classical philosophy before you take his classes. He likes abstract thinking.

Best teacher I have had at Arizona. The guy is a walking history book. It sounds cheesy but he makes learning fun and teaches what is important, not all the extra nonsense that no one cares about in the text books

With Edgard, a grammar class becomes alive; he demystified that dreaded span 205 book and the fear I had for learning Spanish, Edgard is an incredible professor, he is strict but compassionate, he is funny yet serious when needed to be, and he is a walking library. This class is easy and interesting, but you have to put in the time and effort. Attending class is mandatory, if you don't your grade suffer. Edgar is a funny professor and wants you to learn, but like any professor, he wont chase you down, you need to go to him, he is very helpful. I recommend take any of his classes.

I LOVE Edgard!! This class is an easy A as long as you turn everything in on time, show up to every class, participate and be respectful. Edgard is such a cool guy and so helpful! He likes to joke around and will always help during office hours. There aren't tests and he doesn't make you buy a book (thank goodness!) However, there are 3 essays that are a little confusing and make up your whole grade. He's a fair grader but his TA is a hard grader. You get rewrite though!

One of the easiest gen ed courses you can take. There are not any tests, but you have three 3-page essays due throughout the course(you can rewrite them) and 4 1-pagers for the final exam. There is a group project, but it is not bad at all. Edgard is hilarious and makes the class fun. He does take attendance-thats the only downside to the class.

Only 3 papers. Go to office hours with good questions and he will tell you exactly what to write. No reason to get a B. He will let you rewrite paper as many times until you get an A. Just make sure its a full 3 pages (I would write "And that is the end of my amazing analysis" just to get myself to the end of 3 papers. Am taking him for a 2nd time!

This is the easiest class you will ever get in your four years of collage. I can promise on Professor Ore-Giron's 6 pack about this. Also, this all about making yourself better and learning something new weather it's History or Writing just learn something new or just something. Attendance Counts For A Large 20% Of Grade So You Must Go To Class.

Edgard is one of the best professors at the university. The course is focused on 3 essays throughout the course. He gives clear feedback and allows make up grades for full credit as many times as students need, as long as they are learning something from the experience. He truly cares that each of his students succeeds.

Edgard is probably my favorite professor I've ever had. I took his SPAN 160 (Arts and Politics of Latin America) as a 7 week course. The lectures were 2.5 hours long but he made them fun. He never gave us any tests but I learned more in his class than any other. If you show up, do the work, and show him you're working hard, you'll get an A.

Not much I can say that hasn't already been said! Funny, kind and intelligent, 3 easy essays that you can rewrite, group presentation & take-home final. Just come to class and do the work fully/on-time, definitely worth taking for an easy and interesting 7 week gen-ed. Edgard enjoys what he does and makes even a 2.5 hr long class enjoyable.

If you get the chance to take one of Edgar's classes I would highly recommend it! I took his class just to fulfill a GenEd requirement without interest in the content, but now I am signing up for another on of his classes because I truly enjoyed his passion for teaching. All you have to do is show up to class and somewhat pay attention :)

This guy is wet. I highly recommend his SPAN160 class. No tests, only a few papers and mandatory attendance. Easy A and I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. If he sees you on your phone he will freak out which is stupid.

He is a great profesor. This class helps you get an easy A! There was only 2 short essays (literally a page long), 3 essays(3 pages long and offered rewrites on the first two), there was a final project that was not too bad (pick good classmates). He is such a great teacher who cares about the students and is super funny. I really recommend him!

The class itself wasn't great as the way the Spanish department structures these classes suck, but Edgard make the class a lot more enjoyable than the other ones I've taken. Very passionate, and if you have the opportunity to take one of his classes, you definitely should!

There are very little assignments so you have to do well on them or it messes up your grade. 3 essays and a group final reenacting a film we watched. Attendance is apart of your grade so you have to come to class but usually talks about the readings which help you for your essay. Very understanding if you need help with essays or just need advice.

This class was sooooo much fun! I honestly hate learning about social studies or history in general but Edgard makes it fun and actually interesting. I learned so much in this 7 week course. His grading is easy , you just do 3 essays and 3 small 1 page essays and a group project and you're good. Show up though because he's real big on attendance!

Amazing guy! the best. if you need help on the essays he is there for you! The whole class gets close and all contribute. He makes going to class fun. Don't freak out with the essays they are super easy. Essay based on movies or someone famous. class is mandatory but you won't want to miss out on his level of happiness.

He cares more that you are able to think critically than just memorize history. Took his 7-week course and did have a paper due every 2 weeks due to the time crunch. Attendance is 20 percent of the grade and the final is a group project. The class is very easy if you are able to follow the paper guidelines analyzing a concept learned.

3 mini papers, 3 major papers, and a group project at the end all of which are easy and fun to create. Listen to me and take his class if you need to fulfill a gen ed or prereq. Attendance is a big deal but his class is bearable and you learn something new each day. All he wants to do is make sure he inspires his students to be better people!

2nd class w/Edgard for a reason! He is sweet, caring, & understanding. Grade daily attendance, 3 papers (1st 2 allowed a rewrite) & "final" (a fun group video project). Professor Edgard Ore-Giron is the best professor at the UA! I have taken all his Gen Ed courses and I loved them! The easiest Gen ed courses to take and get an A+ in. He makes learning fun. He is a great, caring, and hilarious professor, which is hard to find nowadays. He is always willing to help, just don't wait until last minute.

Focusing in class really matters because the papers you will write in this class are comprehensive and revolve around the content in his lectures. Edgard has the funnest and most engaging lectures to attend. The course material is not hard to understand. The class is essay and project based, however you are granted optional re-writes. One of the nicest people you will meet.

Edgard is a great choice to get your gen eds out of the way! I took the 7 week and it was pretty easy. At times I felt like some of his essay prompts were very unclear and confusing, but there are rewrite opportunities. He gets moody sometimes so watch out for that.

He gives so many opportunities to secure the grade you want. Put in the effort and you will be more than capable of earning an A. The entire class is just 6 written assignments total.

Edgard does not believe in exams so essays and projects will make up your grade. These essays are very easy, and you are also given a chance to rewrite it if you are not satisfied with your grade. Instead of a final exam, there is usually a group project, which has been super easy but informative.

Incredibly caring and intelligent. Has a double bachelors degree in two types of engineering and was a Marine. One of the most well-rounded and knowledgeable professors one could have the honor of meeting. You'll leave the class more knowledgeable about Spanish, but also more open-minded and well-rounded overall. Highly recommend.

The professor is caring and passionate about what he teaches. There is little to no homework, but there are a couple of essays. He gives several pointers on how to write each essay and will even give you feedback on yours before it is submitted for grading. His lectures keeps the students engaged, he's so sweet and cares for his students. He goes over the readings in class and gives good notes. Taking notes will help you a lot for your future assignments! Definitely recommend Edgard!

Edgard was a fantastic professor. Lectures were informative. Your grade mostly consisted of attendance and essays. The essays aren't difficult as long as you follow the provided templates and have a basic understanding of what is going on in the class. Would 100% recommend this professor.

Edgard is amazing. I've taken him before & was lucky enough to have him again. Such a great professor and is so passionate about what he is teaching. Essays are so easy, just follow the templates. Show up to class (you get 3 excused), plus it is interesting, you just watch movies! I would take every class he has to offer. Would take again!!

The easiest and funniest professor I've had! Only had to write 3 papers and he prepared a template for us. He gives oral lectures so you might find it difficult to take notes. The material could also be confusing sometimes, but I loved this class. Just come to class and don't be on your phone and you'll def get an A

Edgard goes out of his way to help his students. He is very clear about what he asks of his students and is always available to help. You have to write 3 essays in this class but it is not hard at all, just follow his sample essays. In the end you do a 10 minute presentation with a group but its nothing super hard.

If you need an easy credit this is the guy for you, he is very laid back and a very generous grader. If you can read and write at the middle school level, you are getting an A. The only downside is he is very strict on being late, being absent, and having phones out during class, overall though a great professor.

If you need an Artist Gen-Ed, take this class!!! For an hour and 20 minutes twice a day I would come to class just listen, Edgard knew how to make the lectures entertaining. You wouldn't have to take notes he would post all his notes and lectures to d2l. Come to class because he has an attendance check-in at the end which help your grade so much.

Edgard is an amazing professor. His lectures are extremely interesting, and you can tell he is an expert on Latin America. He is extremely understanding and passionate, always showing his class compassion. The only grades are 3 essays and 2 individual papers as well as the final project. For the essays he gives a template making them super easy.

Edgard is a a fantastic person and professor. Show up to class, use the essay templates he provides and you'll have an A. The final project is making a film which was quite fun. Recommend taking Edgard.

Absolutely enjoyed this class! The only thing is attendance is mandatory and will affect your grade. But as long as you do the work ( 3 essays for the whole semester/ 1 film) and show up to class you will pass with a high A.

Amazing professor but, attendance is mandatory with 3 excusable absences, doesn't bother me but may bother others. No exams, only 4 small essays no longer than 2-3 pages at most and the final is a simple short film. He is an easy grader, basically grades by completion if you follow the guidelines and even then he is very lenient.

One of my favorite Professors at the UA. If you have the opportunity to take his class for Spanish credit I highly recommend! You will have to do homework on VHL and have D2L compositions just like any other class but he goes out of his way to help and get to know the students. He was very clear about expectations as well for writing assignments.

Professor Edgard was a great teacher. He taught the material well and was always enjoyable to attend his class lectures. He was always caring. I recommend having him as a professor, 10/10.

Prof Edgard is one of my favorite professors. Great class, only downside is group projects in college can often be difficult. You write 2 papers (easy), film a short film w/ a group of 5-10 students and record a podcast. No homework, just watching movies and analyzing them in class. Class ends with a film festival and awards for the short films!

I took the honors course of the and it was great. Attendance is mandatory and the class is an easy A. There is presentation at the end and people did some good projects. Some even cooked and brought food to class. I was actually disappointed as a member of the Honors group who did a google slide. Its an easy A. Take the shorter lecture though.

Great professor! I took bother span160 and 210 and I enjoyed both classes immensely. There are a few video responses, 1 essay and 1 final group project. All are insanely easy. Edgard is a polite professor who clearly cares about his subject. Both courses had movie times which is enjoyed a lot! The grading is very lenient

Super funny professor and overall enjoyable class. The topics can be all over the place and he makes sure student sit up front and can have a discussion based on the film and themes. Nonetheless, enjoyable class and would definitely recommend to take for an easy semester. Show up, find a good group for the short film, and you'll do fine.

This was my second class with Edgard, and you will be hard-pressed to find a more caring and understanding professor. He really gives inspirational lectures about the importance of a secular course of study, and yes, the class is super easy.

Edgard Ore-Giron is one of my favorite professors. I dropped a class and enrolled in his at the last minute and I'm so glad I did. He genuinely cares about his students and wants them all to do great. Homework in his class is just like any other, but he wants to see you succeed. I recommend anyone who is taking Spanish to enroll in his course.

my fav professor on campus so far. He lets us rewrite essays after giving us feedback, goes above and beyond and personally way to lenient on his students but thats what makes him great. If you pick any of his classes do not pick it because he's sweet or the class is easy. Pick it because you're interested or at least going to engage more in class.

This was easily the best professor I have ever had. His main goal is for everyone in the class to get an A and he makes it incredibly easy. Lectures are mandatory attendance but makes it pretty easy to get extra credit. I actually enjoyed going to this class and every lecture was actually interesting.

Professor Ore-Giron is so nice and understanding. He answers emails and he's gives great feedback. He's an easy grader and allows you to redo your essay pending his feedback. He is very relatable. And I would take him again as a teacher in a heartbeat. He was awesome.

Professor Edgard was like a fun uncle. He cared and respected us and appreciated our opinions, even if we did not agree with him. There were four assignments. We had to film two movie review videos, one essay, and the final short film project. Edgard practically helped us get an A. I think it is impossible to not get an A in this course.

Definitely TAKE THIS CLASS, it is so easy and all you have to do is show up for class, write 1 essay, and participate in creating a short film with a group. There are NO tests and you can rewrite the essay as many times as you want. Edgard believes teachers should teach and he is so funny, it was a privilege to have him as a professor!

This class was Mon, Wed lecture and Fri Discussion. Edgard did lectures and Alma did discussions. This class covered theories, Latin movies, and analysis. Attendance is graded but lectures are great so just show up and turn things in on time and you'll get an A. Edgard and Alma were so caring and kind and very open to discussions. Would take again!

Edgard has a very admirable passion for what he does. The class was very simple, with an occasional assignment or paper, and the final being a group short film. I had no added stress while taking this class and enjoyed his lectures. Super entertaining and an easy course that you definitely learn a lot from.

Edgar Ore-Giron, the only professor that made me feel comfortable and seen.His way of interacting with the class, make everyone feel seen and heard.I believe his class can be an amazing introduction to University group projects. He will allow you do make up any assignments as much times as you want until you get a score you are comfortable with.

This was the best class I've taken at the university in all my years. This is how a class is supposed to be formatted. This is how a professor is supposed to act, in all aspects, especially passion and careful thought in his perspective field. If you have the chance to take this class take it.

This man is truly a gem, not only because you can succeed in his class with minimal effort, but also because he is smart, funny, and genuine in his teaching. For those of you who are Honors students that section is no different. Sometimes it's awkward when no one participates, but it's an informative class with movies. Choose this class.

7-week in person gen ed. One of the best instructors I had. Can be a bit boring at times but he was very genuine and passionate. He is very knowledgeable and probably the easiest class you will take. Rarely any assignments but they were interesting. I enjoyed the group project and movie. Really cares about your success.
