Edith was a fantastic teacher! Took her undergrad & grad classes in Interpersonal, Conflict. etc. One of the best teachers in a strong dept. She was a tough grader (darn those A minuses!) Great sense of humor and a fantastic thesis advisor. Demanding standards, great sense of humor, learned a lot!Thank you for everything, Edith!
She often gets sidetracked. Not a fair grader. 80% of your grade is dependent upon other people because there is a group project involved. So, even if you put a 110% of yourself in a project, she doesn't really care. If the rest of your group is immature and irresponsible, you will receive THEIR grade. Not a very empathetic teacher.
Edith is a very kind and helpful teacher. If you study you should get an A; because, the study guide tells you exactly what is on the test. On her papers she expects you to put in some effort, but no more than other upper division classes. Take her class, you will enjoy it.
Edith is a very entertaining professor. She has a way of tying the theories to personal stories, and making it all make sense. I enjoyed her class very much.
Edith is an excellent professor. She focuses not just on teaching her students, but affecting their lives for their greater good. She uses examples of her son and her own life experiences to help connect difficult concepts. She goes on tangents and repeats the same jokes but her class is pretty easy and fun. Highly reccomend

Professor LeFebvre loves to talk about herself and her son Josh, who by the end of the semester, the class is on a "first name basis" with. She is always smiling, but don't let it fool you. She can be petty in what she's looking for in students' work. She focuses more on format than content. She is a flaming liberal and holds none of it back.
Wonderful, fabulous, amazing teacher and human being!! She tells you EXACTLY what she wants for each of the two assignments. If you follow directions, it's easy! For the midterm we got a study guide with keywords for each question on the test, in the order they were asked, and told us if it was based on the book or our notes. I recommend her 150%!
very good at keeping your attention. very funny and entertaining. make sure to take lots of notes and hightlight EVERYTHING that she says will be on the exam.. because it will!! pretty much memorize word for word definitions or concepts that she goes over.. gives a study guide so you'll be fine if you make flash cards
Extremely confusing, often impossible grader, grading methods/policies unclear at best, studying & good attendance do not mean you won't FLUNK a test anyhow. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES. She is very entertaining though, until you get your grade!
Seriously the worst grader ever. She has tons of bogus rules and will find any reason to flunk you. I once lost 4 points on a test for stating the class was in the Communications dept. instead of the Communication Studies dept. She's pretty much useless as a teacher, teaches you nothing and won't remember who you are. Don't take her classes!
She was a great teacher. I loved her! She does have a high standard when she grades and wont let you slide by- but she was always helpful when asked! Good teacher, very good person!
I gave her a glowing review here last semester...oops! After taking her a 2nd time I now know she tells the same jokes and makes the same absurd, annoying political comments (...and I am just as liberal as her)! Grading system is utter crap...95% is an A- to her. 95%! ??!?! She docked me one grade simply for missing 3 classes this semester.
Edith is, by far, my favorite teacher throughout my entire college career. She's funny, strict, extremely knowledgeable about her subject, and has a positive attitude. Fair warning, though: if you're not willing to work hard, don't take her class.
Good: Silly, Happy, lecture content is pretty clear. Bad: Hard to tell if it is a hard left political science course or something else. Michael Moore is a conservative compared to her. When you counter her opinions, she will be diplomatic, instead of discussing an issue. Thinks very highly of herself.
Extremely hard. Tests are fill in the blank. Very unclear about assignments and what she wants on them. Grading system is a joke. Liberally charged and its her way or the highway. Please listen to me when I say that I am a good student, but with her as my teacher I got my first C EVER.. she is a disappointment. Likes brownnosers.
Very Unclear. Does not tell you what she actually wants on assignments she just says good luck. Liberal. So rediculous in her grading system and won't help you pass if you need help. If you are self teaching and very independent in your thinking and have a photographic memory for the fill in the blank tests. then go for it, but you won't pass.
She is very liberal and speaks her mind. She keeps the assignments clear. She has had many student claim she didn't explain clearly in the past so she fully explains every single assignment to exactly how she wants it turned in...so no one should be confused by the directions.It was crucial to attend class and student notes word for word for test.
LeFebvre can only teach things one way and either she isn?t willing or she isn?t able to adapt to different learning styles. It?s unfortunate because LeFebvre has a lot of knowledge and experience to share but her teaching methods are not conducive to the learning styles of all her students.
Strict but funny. Rather opinionated....never call her MRS. and you will do just fine :)
I was afraid to take the class due to comments on this site. However, she is the best professor I've ever had. Take the class, very interesting and fun. If you are a motivated student who has sense of reality and knows how to follow direction, you will do fine.
Too Particular. She must recognize that in reality, APA wouldn't be used everyday, so she should not stress on it. I understand this is college, but at the same time, she should not be so particular with her test answers requiring it verbatim
She was one of my favorite professors at CSUS!!! She expects a lot from her students as she should since they are college students. She really emphasizes APA because that is the style for all ComS class papers. She gives a study guide out for all her exams...they have EVERY CONCEPT that will be on the test and she will tell you where to find them.
Very knowledgeable. Full of energy. Class is never boring. She is very strict when grading papers and exams, but gives very detailed instructions and tells you exactly what will be on the exams. She digresses a lot but her stories are entertaining and full of life lessons.
Sees no problem committing ethical transgressions - openly talks in class about having her son in one of her classes for a semester and how she was a "fair grader" (of course he got an A!), but will mark down students for answering "Communications Dept." instead of "Communication STUDIES Dept." on tests. Very biased, talks too much about her son.
Goes off on liberal tangents. Black and white when it comes to grading. I learned this the hard way when taking her exams. She ridicules instead of helping them. Doesn't spend time on concepts or clarifying, moves on quickly. She's confusing/vague about her expectations until you see your grade, when it's too late. Knowledgeable but pompous.
Very unclear on directions, condescending rather than helpful with mistakes. A tidal wave of preaching and left wing PC crap. High energy. Her degree in rhetoric explains the lack of critical thinking.
The least helpful professor I have ever had. Her entire persuasion class consisted of her persuading us how hard her life was, how much she's done as a single mom, how wonderful her son is (obsessed much?), she makes her political views clear and you dare not disagree with her... or else! Doesn't grade fairly. Doesn't make sense.
She won't give out an A, I swear. She has given me an A- and ruined my 4.0 TWICE now. I have a good rapport with her, and like her as a person, but not as a professor. She talks too much about unrelated things. I feel like she's teaching a class on her own thoughts and feelings regarding a subject, and not the material. I don't recommend her.
She speaks INSANELY quietly, which just doesn't work in a class of 200 people. Never uses the textbook, so that's like $50 bucks I threw away. Also, the way she sets up the class leaves you with literally no idea what your final grade will be until she releases them post-finals. Extremely educated but extremely frustrating as an instructor.
I thought I liked this class until I saw how she graded the exams (or rather, how her TA graded them for her). I don't even have words for how frustrating it is to get the answer correct and still get marked down because it's not 100% verbatim from the lectures. Ugh.
The Good: High energy.Sometimes funny stories. The Bad:My biggest complaint is she used the class to spout her political beliefs. my issue is not her opinion, its the use of the classroom to make statements. It had nothing to do with the class. She made an comment that was very insulting to veterans one week.Completely out of line.
Not sure why anyone is complaining...I barely tried. I wrote all the papers the day they were due, failed the first test, put a little more effort and passed with a B. I could have done better, but I'm lazy. Just memorize the lecture notes and read main topics in the book (she gives a study guide). If you can't do that, drop out of school.
Ok, so by now you've read all of these posts and there is a common thread. You need to pay attention. Dr. Lefebvre is a nice woman, she just isn't a clear teacher. In order to pass the class with an A- you must.... answer her questions on her midterm and final VERBATIM, follow APA format, visit her office at least once, and learn her quirks.

She is a good entertaining teacher who will keep your attention and tell you exactly what she wants from you. She is very strict in her grading.
Edith is a very entertaining teacher. I zone out easily & she managed to keep my attention. Grades tests tough (verbatim) but gives clear study guide. Papers were graded fair,clear directions. Never read the book,just took notes, which were also very clear. Not sure what everyone is complaining about. VERY knowledgeable; this class changed my life.
Someone in my class must have read the reviews on here b/c they asked her if on the exams she wanted verbatim and she said no...FALSE. Learn the material verbatim and regurgitate it. Make sure you have APA down like the back of your hand (yes, I mean memorize it!). Also, showing up for office hours = participation.
Very vague on expectations. Dont let her friendly personality fool you. Very Harsh grading. Would never take her again or recommend to anyone.
Really great professor. Utilize office hours/email her ahead of paper due dates it will help A LOT with the citations which she was picky about. Study guides helped a lot. Go to class, pay attention. Wasn't too hard.

Literally the absolute worst, most pompous, awful professor I have ever had the misfortune of having to listen to. Not only were her inappropriate and unnecessary political comments offensive, but when I met with her privately to discuss it, she told me "you go to liberal campus" deal with it. She should NOT be teaching. Lacks ethics.
BEST professor at Sac State! She is very helpful. People just have to do actually do their work to get an A. It is definitely not an easy course you must attend lectures and take good notes because her exams are all from her lectures and barely any questions from the book. If you want to make sure you are on the right track go to her office hours!
She has tons of energy for every single class. Actually appears to love what she does. She is pretty funny too and uses personal stories a lot. The test followed the study guide pretty exactly. APA super important. Everything was from the lecture notes, a bit from reading. Don't miss a class or you'll miss a lot of information!
Although she is a considered hard and has people actually do theirs work, this is college. Exams are short answers and she does grade rather hard, but follow every instruction. I failed the first test and failed the first paper and still passed. People are lazy and she is a great passionate teacher.
By far the worst coms teacher on campus. The assignment are straight forward but if you don't follow them to a tea you get an f. Test are some what okay. But everything is word for word from the notes. If you don't write the answer just as she stated in the notes or in class the answer is wrong. By far the worst way to learn in my opinion.
She takes roll everyday. Assignments are easy but if you don't follow the directions you get an f. Lecture is fun but unrelated to actual content. Assignments reasonable but grading is not. Exams are hard because you must say word by word what she wants. We did not use the textbook. Emphasis should be in learning not pleasing a professor's ego.
Follow her directions or you will fail. There is no room for error. It's kind of like real life except for the three strikes rule, probation, and parole. She just sends you straight to the pen. :) Good luck! 2 papers, 2 tests and a final.
This professor grades harshly on small things, rather than general principles taught in the class. Claims to have a thorough knowledge of the English language, yet she corrects papers incorrectly at times. Explains trivial things thoroughly, and crucial things briefly. The worst professor I've ever had, easily. No book usage, so that's nice.
By far the worst Professor I have had at CSUS. Accused me of cheating when I approached her about a grading mistake SHE made. Her syllabus is very unclear about the attendance policy, so just don't miss class more then once ( I missed twice and was told simply because of that I got a C+ instead of a B-) Lectures had little to do with the subject!
I took Persuasion last semester and thought she was crazy, but it's almost like she is a different person in Conflict Analysis class. She DOESN'T MAKE YOU BUY THE TEXTBOOK! Also, she is INCREDIBLY helpful as long as you are nice about your question. She is never boring, that's for sure. Tests are NOT a cakewalk but it's worth the effort.
Been writing papers for classes years, solid A material. This teacher gave me the hardest easy assignment EVER, because she is incredibly picky when it comes to how she grades. She demands an unreasonable amount of perfection. Tiny mistakes will see you docked down entire letter grades.
I got As on my papers even though she is tough grading them. She docked a whole grade for turning it in 5 minutes into class. She never specified that would happen and yet held me up to that rule. Exams are unreasonable, she expects you to remember everything. Only mind readers can do that. Not in it for the teaching, more to feed her prof ego
She is an OK teacher. Sometimes feel like she talks more about herself than the material. The class is easy to pass with an A as long as you show up, pay attention and study for the tests. She provides study guides which is a lifesaver. She is a pretty tough grader too, but if you put in the effort then you will pass.
The exam study guides are really helpful! She gives you the exact terms that will appear on the exam so you have no surprises but she is a hard grader on the short answers. She is not available to talk to on breaks or before & after class which sucks & she always goes off topic which sucks cause the people around you start side conversations.
Spends more time talking about herself then teaching you how to write columns or reviews. Only actually teaches one class a week and gets a guest speaker in once a week none of whom are very helpful or engaging. Talks constantly about editors she had and people she worked with. Doesn't tell you how to write and just talks at you for an hour. AVOID.

I took this class because it was the only upper division GE open. Do not take this if you don't have time to go to out of class events. You have to go to 3 off campus events as well as 3 on campus events that you also have to pay for (unless free of charge). The class was only worth 100 points with not many assignments and a hard grading criteria.
This class was so unorganized! The teacher only taught one class period, then had other professors come in and teach the rest of the semester! She had two teaching assistants and things were still never graded on time! She was unclear about her assignment guidelines, the professor would say one thing and the assistants would grade the opposite.
She really cares about her students even when it seems like she doesn't. She respects everyone's opinion even she opposes it and it ties into her lectures. I think she is very passionate about her work, most students don't like when she speaks about her past experience but I find her lectures very inspiring. She is very helpful if YOU show up.
I love LeFebvre! She has a lot of great stories and really invites her students to think critically.
One of the worst classes I have taken at sac state. She only taught the first lecture the rest were given by different departments. Overall the class is all over the place very confusing. Requires you to buy an art pass and attend 3 on and off campus events.
She is very rude and disrespectful. It was an online class, so being able to e-mail the professor is important. While she did respond in a timely manner, it was never without a snarky, condescending comment to make me try to feel stupid. If you make a mistake, she won't explain how you can improve. This was the worst professor I have EVER had!!
Took her online class, the first meeting all she did was talk about herself and her son. Shes a very tough grader and very rude. Everything in her lectures and quizzes are not on the test.
She definitely had an air of arrogance about her and goes overboard with condescending comments. She speaks to students as if they are children and gets personally upset over minor errors. She is a very intelligent woman, but humility and respect would greatly improve her teaching.
She's an ok teacher. The only thing I don't like is the guest speakers really don't explain their discipline and you're left trying to figuring out how to apply them to your events. Overall the class was easy, no book but have to spend outside money for the class.
This class is confusing and pointless. The guest lecturers had nothing to do with the overall class. Lefebvre messed up numerous times with grading. We had to re-take quizzes b/c of her errors. Grading for papers returned weeks later due date. How is this college course and a college teacher (not going to use the title professor). Avoid.

This professor and her student assistants are all over the place. They can never get their technology together to get through lecture. They wait until the end of the semester to get your grades back to you. Grades stickler. Not to mention Lebfvre is completely rude, snobby, condescending, and conceited. This class is a waste of time.
She assigns quizzes every week which are worth 0 points. She also only allows tests to be opened for one day and if you miss it you miss it. No reopening tests. Very strict and not helpful whatsoever. Seems like she does the bare minimum for an online class. Her instructions are unclear and vague. Do not take this teacher.
Seriously such an inspirational professor- genuinely wants to see you succeed not only in class, but in life.. There's definitely lots of work, but she makes her expectations clear and sets the standards high for her students. I've learned and implemented so much from that class in life- it's truly changed how I live and interact in conflicts.
Professor LeFebvre is a lovely person but a poor professor. Most in-class discussions are rambling anecdotes. She is completely incapable of providing adequate direction on assignments, then proceeds to grade according to her harsh standards that she chose not to share. Zero leeway on attendance requirements. Lots of writing and presentations.
Extremely rude and will belittle you any chance she gets. The first paper is ridiculously hard and she only cares about APA format ( she gave me a D- because my spacing was off.) Seems as if she is eager to grade students down instead of actually help them. If you have any other options to take this class, TAKE IT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
Professor LeFebvre is so funny and knows a lot about Coms. Her online PowerPoints are notndreadful and the quizzes every week are pretty straight forward. If you dont know APA, you wont pass, BUT she gives TONS of info about what she is expecting in regards to APA, so I think if you dont pass its on you. I would recommend this professor!
Online class was a bit challenging as some of the instructions were unclear and confusing. Tone in emails is very strong and rude. Powerpoint presentations are very difficult to read. I would only take her again if its a last resort.
Did all of the weekly quizzes which count for 0 points, got 10/10 on all of them except one where I missed 4 and for that she gave me a B in participation bringing my A- in the class to a B+ overall. Tough grader on the first paper and is very condescending over email.

Had her during the Camp Fire when campus was closed; very hesitant about having to change due dates (which was required by the president of Sac State), said people who submitted late might not have papers graded. Sent an announcement telling everyone who missed 1 quiz during the fire lacked competency and commitment to doing well. Rude over email.
Had her during Camp Fire while campus was closed and the President sent out an email that nothing was due during the break, and she was very hesitant about changing due date. She's extremely rude and not understanding of students at all. I would not take her again.
Run away from any and all classes taught by prof. Lefebvre. She is unapproachable, condescending, and her directions are vague/contradictory. Her feedback is cruel, her tone is contrite, and frankly, I think all of the nice comments on here were written by her. Hard pass on ever taking a class from her again, and this was an online class.
I'm an ADT. DO NOT take any of her classes! Grades unfairly! No account for the work you've done or the information you've learned. Grades are based solely on whether you missed an assignment or not. Never got an actual percentage of my grade, just a letter (definitely not a reflection of the work I've done). Should've dropped the class!!!
This professor could care less about her students. One of the most heartless professors Ive ever came across. During the campfire, she could care less about what was going on. The class is easy but she tries to make it harder than it really is. Shes extremely unclear with her directions and the grading does not make sense. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!
I took many of her courses, if not all she taught at the time, starting with introduction to Communication at FLC. I noticed her charismatic personality was too loud for some people. Thus, if you are comfortable in yourself and actually desire to learn the art of communication, she will challenge you to the utmost.
I appreciate constructive criticism, but this woman is condescending and RUDE. Her directions are unclear and don't bother asking her about it. She's unapproachable and I would never take a class with her again. She should spend more time working on making her instructions clear instead of highlighting everything on the syllabus.
She discriminated against me because I'm male. First, she unilaterally dropped me from a class for being male. Next day she told the all female class "now it's just us girls...". In a different class she gave me an F claiming "male bias" in my work. This was 15 years ago. Today, I am flourishing in my career and advise all students to not take her.
we were given a two page research paper apa format. I was told our textbook is not an appropriate source for a course assignment ?! She also sent out an announcement four weeks into the semester reminding everyone how to drop the course... very rude with feedback, told me I flat out ignored her videos on formatting. ANNOYING CLASS!!! U had 2 go one day a week, to a huge lecture hall. Professors from each department from arts and letters came to lecture. Then you are required to go to 3 outside events in Sac, and 3 on-campus events and write a 2-3 pg paper for each that relates to the lectures. I would avoid this class if dont have freetime to spare or $$.
The worst professor I have ever had. She holds EXTREME high standards for essays (and does not share those standards) and assigns grades completely arbitrarily. She is also the most rude and condescending professor I have ever communicated with through email and through her canvas announcements. She once implied we were all insults to our gene pool

" Enough said.
After 5 years of being in college across 4 states and 4 colleges, I can confidently say Edith is the worst professor I've ever had. She's profoundly unprofessional and petty. She is condescending. Multiple students reached out to me asking if I had similar experiences. Edith is ripping off every student who takes her class, she's a shameless crook.

Very uneven grading. If you use Times New Roman as a font you get a 0. If you mess one thing up on an assignment, you get a 0. Lectures are very off subject most of the time. Not accessible outside of class. Seems like she really hates her students and does not want them to succeed. For an intro class, it's insanely difficult. DON'T TAKE HER.
BY FAR the worst class I had ever taken in my 19 years of going to school. You can do all the work, finish every single assignment, and still get a 0 on everything. The directions they give you on an assignment are completely false. They give the correct directions for an assignment after you are given a 0 on it. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
Just think of the most backward class ever. Nobody wants to help you, all they want to do is waste your money and hand out Fs during a pandemic. Professor should be absolutely embarrassed by this atrocious way of teaching.
Do not take this class if you just want to sit in a class where the professor relies on other head of chairs to teach. Required us to go to museums during a pandemic and stayed very unsympathetic. Started the first day with a power point presentation as to why I quote do not call me mrs, call me doctor, mrs is my dead mothers name.
Would NOT recommend this class at all! So unorganized! Literally a mess of a class! The directions for assignments do not match up to how they are graded. You can do all the work required and still never receive full credit.

Worst teacher Ive ever had! Do not take her class. She doesnt answers your questions straight. She has NO sympathy for her students circumstances that affect their mental health and education. In my entire career as a student I have never had such a terrible class experience. She grades based her own opinion and if you do't have a matching one be prepared to a 0 in you're grading column. She can't stay on topic for the life of the class. If I had the choice to take her class again I would rather drop out or transfer.
Do no take any classes with this professor if you care about your well being. No point in taking this torture. Grades solely based on what she's feeling at the moment, doesn't care about your input at all, and condescending. Will ALWAYS remind you how she's the one with the PHD and everyone else is inferior. That last 5.0 review was probably her.

Stay away she made our final 56 questions with only 1 hour and 10 minutes. Most questions were fill in. Worst exam I ever took. Nice lady but better off taking someone else.

She's so bad that the school is forcing her to retire next fall. Save yourself the time and don't even look at this class. This class made me want to drop out and as a former 4.0 student that is ridiculous. AVOID AT ALL COST!
I'm sure she was a wonderful professor once upon a time but now not so much. She can't stay on topic, values her opinions over facts, and cannot be bothered with criticism. Her final was ridiculous and if you don't give her the exact answer (including spelling) she will mark you wrong. This is the class you take if you want to fail.
I don't understand how she is still teaching. A fellow classmate had was called out and she had came to class furious. She forced her to turn on her zoom camera so she could "see who she's talking to" and proceeded to tear into them in front of the rest of the class. Completely unprofessional. Avoid if possible.
The worst PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD! As a returning college student I have attended 4 Colleges total and I have never encountered a processor like this. She is irrational and passed judgement on her students quickly. What happened to leading with compassion mid-pandemic YEAH RIGHT! DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE you will REGRET IT!! Entire course MESS!
Let me start off by saying Professor Lefebvre is a very nice lady. She makes the entire class more difficult than it needs to be. Her canvas page is very unorganized and her lectures are all over the place. VERY STRICT GRADER! One main paper 1500 words, weekly quizzes and discussions, 3 exams. Fully commit to those and you can pass.
Worst professor Ive had in 4 years. Only talks about herself, how shes still a size 4, her doctorate, tenure (thats getting taken away now), or her BMW. Changes APA rules. I had a friend pass away and she wouldnt excuse the absence. If you have to take her, start a groupme bc she ended our zoom chat so we can only message her. Save yourself.
After reading other awful reviews from this past semester it makes me glad Im not the only one. I dont recommend ever taking a class with her. She said one thing over email then went back on it at the end of the semester. She didnt submit any grades into canvas until after finals week. Her page is horrid and was disrespectful over messaging 0/10
She made her class way too difficult to understand, wasn't accommodating AT ALL! She gave us an assignment that she herself barely knew how to do. If you miss a quiz that counts as an absence and she won't let you make it up. Her lectures get off topic, and she also disregarded any concerns her students amid a pandemic. Not worth the stress
Might as well not pay attention in class because nothing you learn in class will be on the test because "you already learned it". She always brings politics into class and her political point of view and it often made me feel uncomfortable. She also refuses to give you a study guide for what to review for exams. She is a terrible professor.
Worst professor I have ever had by far. She is always talking about politics and tries to persuade her students to vote a certain way. Her lectures are just long rants or her talking about her life. She is rude and does not care about her students at all in any way. Save yourself time and money by not taking this class!!! HORRIBLE CLASS DONT TAKE!
Talks about her personal life for the first half of every class then doesn't even get through all the material. Requires you to have your camera on or tell the whole class a good enough reason why you don't have it on. Won't curve tests or take any blame for bad teaching, it's the students fault for not learning the material or studying. TERRIBLE!
I took her class over zoom and I 100% DO NOT recommend this class with this professor. She did not teach the material well at all, and her tests are very confusing. She wasn't student friendly, & was very passive aggressive towards students. She did not create a fun safe environment for her students to learn in. The class was difficult cause of her
Great Professor, is very straightforward and funny. She does require you to understand every detail of what the subject is, but explains thoroughly what is expected throughout the course and when doing speeches. There are a lot of speeches but time to prepare for them and allows peers to give reviews. Loved her class.
Stay away from this professor. First exam she gave us we had no study guide or review cause she doesnt believe in that and worst of all the highest in the class was a 67% and the mean was around a 36-38 and refused to curve it or give us a study guide. Overall so trash not valid at all. She aint ��
