Mrs. Lopez is the best Spanish teacher! She is extremely helpful and goes out of her way to make sure you do well! I would recommend her to ANYONE!

Uses connect and slideshow presentations which you can access from your canvas account. She's funny and really relatable. I was so excited when she said she was teaching 202 next semester.

Just show up to class every day cuz that's where you learn what you really need. Homework is kinda heavy not because she assigns a lot but because the assignment is on a website called MHE Connect( You DON'T Need to Buy the Textbook) the Textbook is on this website as well, the assignments give new questions till you pass. Which is time consuming.

Edith is an amazing instructor who truly cares about her students and their understanding of the lectures. Do not skip class unless you want your grade to drop. She really cares about her students and is a great professor for someone who is just starting their teaching career.

She was super helpful when it came to learning a new language. She made sure to incorporate fun activities into class so that we understood the info. I didn't like the online homework but it was manageable.

She is prompt, energetic, humble and has clearly used Spanish fluently for many years. She alternates between lecture and various activities which keeps class fun and reinforces the material. My only complaint was the McGraw-Hill online homework, but that is a department problem since every Spanish class at Cuesta assigns it. Amazing class overall!

Easy going class. Shes really clear and makes sure you understand the material! Always answers questions or finds a way to re-explain to make something clearer! Has in class group activities to help you understand the material. Do the Homework and you'll get a good grade! Everything she covers is on the test! Would definitely recommend this class!

This was my favorite class! Profesora Lopez is very nice and passionate about the subject. This was my first time taking Spanish and I really enjoyed the lectures and in class group activities. She does leave a lot of homework and in class participation is a must. Do the work and you should be fine!

Edith Lopez was an amazing teacher! Although she is a new teacher, she is super understanding and doesnt have unrealistic expectations. She is very educated and teaches Spanish in an easy way to understand. The online switch this semester made this class especially difficult but she always offered extra help and great resources on canvas.

Lopez was a great professor! If you ever start to struggle, you can always get extra time with her and she's happy to help. She is a new professor, but one of the best I've taken. She isn't too tough of a grader, and she wants to help. There is a lot of homework and it is very tedious, but that's expected in a Spanish class and it's good practice.

Do NOT take this class during summer. It's a crazy ass amount of work. I have taken two classes per summer term & it was a breeze. This class requires an insane amount of HW & assignments that take forever & that need to be spaced out longer than 6 weeks. Professor Lopez is cool & very helpful. Professora Lopez is a terrific teacher. This class was completely online, that being said, there were a few group meetings to practice speaking with two other class mates. There is a lot of vocabulary in this class and it does move quickly. That being said, Professora Lopez was available and willing to assist as needed.

Very manageable class

Profesora Lopez is an excellent teacher: approachable and delivers simple information. It might seem overwhelming initially, but the course material is very manageable for someone like me who never learned Spanish, and it is my third language. The teacher is very accommodating and flexible. The outcome is worth it!

I personally loved when the professor made it easy to read her text and understand her lectures that she would put in her PowerPoints and she was always respectful about learning some thing new especially with language. I also really appreciated how she told us how to study and would tell us if we ever needed help she would help us.

This professor is very nice; the relationship feels very personal, and if you need help with a certian topic, it is easy to set up an appointment. This doesn't mean that this professor gives everyone an "A+"; they give very good feedback and lays out a good rubric that clearly states the expectations of learning.

Prof. Lopez was a wonderful instructor to take online. Everything is clearly explained in the modules, with a few lectures and mostly online program assignments to complete. Occasional mandatory video discussion assignment with classmates & flipgrid videos. Quizzes and exams draw from online program work & lectures, so study those for success.

This teacher has a good heart and wants to be the best she can be. She is a really tough grader and the class consists primarily of busy work (5-10 hours a week of 'busy work' on top of the non-busy work). If you are looking for an easy class I suggest you look elsewhere. I have years of experience with Spanish and still struggled for an A.

The class is fairly standard for a level one. Not too difficult but none the less learning a new language is always a lot of work. The presenations and material are straightforward and the hw and exams are fair. The class is fun in that there is lots of interaction and she has youthful energy and is friendly. Would recommend.

I actually learned Spanish. She is a fair teacher who will work with you if you reach out. Her tests are easy if you pay attention in class. There is a lot of homework but it is the same as reading a textbook but getting credit for it. I think the homework really helps with the lectures and the learning of Spanish. Professor Lopez is a fantastic online Spanish teacher. Her lectures were so informative and helped me understand concepts that were a little blurry after Spanish 1. I really appreciated her content and learned so much through this class.

Professor Lopez does oral interviews ever 2 weeks or so which is a one on one talking time. She replies to emails in a timely manner and is there to help her students with whatever they need. The assignments although long, are super beginner friendly. The online textbook is typically 30-40 pages long, there are songs to listen to with quizzes too.

Taking Spanish class was definitely a challenge, but it was absolutely doable with effort and dedication. There is an oral final exam, but the teacher created such a comfortable and supportive environment that it wasn't as intimidating as I thought it would be. This class is an excellent way to improve your speaking skills. Highly recommended!

Professor Lopez was a very rational and very encouraging professor. When I fell behind due to personal issues she gave me a second shot at the test because I was occupied. You just have to put in the work and it can be an easy class it all up to how much effort you put in.

Lopez was great! There are modules every week, you get a week to complete them. It's managable if you space it out. You get assigned a group to meet with once every two weeks for a short zoom. The tests and quizzes are easy as long as you do the hw! And she gives you all the material you need to have prepped for the two oral exams. Highly recommend

I took Spanish years ago before this class, so I was a bit rusty coming in, but I learned so much in her course. She has a really young energy that makes the class engaging and fun, you can tell she genuinely loves teaching and wants everyone to succeed.

I won't lie, this class had a heavy workload, but the instruction was always clear, and I was always given sufficient time to complete the week's work. I would take her class again. As long as you are responsible and stay on top of your homework it shouldn't be too difficult. Notes were a life-saver. Attending the online meetings were important.

Great teacher and very fair with her grading. Able to retake test to improve your score. Written test are taken at home and you have as long as you want to take them, makes taking a test less stressful. I plan to take Spanish 202 with her in spring.
