Penny is sooooooo sweet she's an amazing teacher! Everyone should try to take one of her classes if you can

Penny has to be the sweetest, most generous and caring teacher i have ever had. If you go to class and take notes you will be fine, since the tests are only from her class lectures. She is never in a bad mood, and she is willing to help any time. You really should take her.

Awesome teacher. She is sooooo nice and really knows her classical lit! Take her you wont regret it. Class consists of 3 exams and 1 paper, drawing, art work, etc. (only 1 not all)of a passage on one of the required readings. EASY CLASS (because she is such a good teacher) Kinda good looking....

She is one of the sweetest ladies i have ever met! you can tell that she truly loves her classics. She is willing to do anything for you in order for you to get a good grade in her class. There are three tests, one on each book, and one final paper, which is extremely easy. if you are interested in the classics, i would def. take this course!!!

It's worth taking this class just to meet her, she is the nicest lady on earth. It's really astounding how utterly humble and optimistic she is. Not to mention she knows the material cold, and has a good knowledge of greek and latin to help explain the original texts. Tests are easy, final project can be anything you want. Yes, anything.

It may appear that she's an easy professor, but I don't think that's the case. She simply teaches well and prepares her students for tests the way they should be prepared. Her tests aren't necessarily easy; she just teaches the things that will be on the test. She's just a good teacher. Oh, and she really is the nicest person ever.

Penny is super awesome. I had her for both CLST 271 AND 272. She could be Mother Theresa. Her class is based on 3 exams and a final "project". The exams are like middle school tests with matching and short answer. You could ace them without going to class. The project can be anything you're passionate about. She will give you an A if you cook.

She's nice and it's pleasant listening to what she has to say in class. Gives you the study guide with everything you need to know. All the info can be found in the book, which you don't even need if you attend class regularly. She always feeds snacks. Take a class with her if you can. Definitely worth taking!

This is one of the most enjoyable classes I've had at Loyola and also one of the easiest. She gives you an incredibly helpful study guide before each exam but if you don't go to class and read the book, you definitely won't get an A. This is an easy class but it does require a little effort. In any case Penny is an angel and an amazing professor.

It's a really easy class, and fun to listen to her. Get the main point of the texts, and know all the characters she mentions in class-- mainly keywords, like what you associate characters with. An A is definitely feasible! She wrote me a rec letter too!

Everyones already said how amazing she is. However you need to read before exams, sometimes readings were long. Tests were not a joke you do need to study. Show up to class to understand the content better. She made us memorize/read/write the entire greek alphabet. 95 is an A and I had to ask for extra credit. Know EVERYTHING on her study guides

If you visit her for her office hours, which I highly recommend, she basically tells you what will be on the exam. Visit her during any free time, she always made me feel so happy. We read the Iliad, Odyssey, and Aeneid. Just go to class EVERYDAY and listen to her storytelling. Very Easy A if you show up to every class and read the assigned readings.

It's true- she is the sweetest woman and really cares about every person, but if you're looking for an easy A, it's not. Attendance isn't mandatory and you basically do nothing in class, but the exams bite. 3 total exams, non cumulative. Exams are all fill in the blank or essay. A TON of stuff to memorize. She offers extra credit, but it was hard.

Dr. Livermore is incredibly caring and kind; she brings snacks to class every day. The whole class is scored by three exams that she gives good study guides for. However, there are always a few things on the exam not on the study guide. Very low maintenance class, but it does take effort to get an A.

Penny is such an amazing teacher. Took her online for Fall 2020. She emailed us all of her lectures and we had no Zoom classes. Edith is a real gem. She's the most kind-hearted and caring professor I've ever had. Her class is very easy since the essays are very easy reflections based off the readings. She sends you inspirational quotes and songs everyday. She really tries to get to know every student personally. I would definitely take her because of how sweet she is.

Loved Penny! The sweetest lady ever. Attendance is optional, and you get three papers for the whole semester. UCLR 100C is a great class to mix between harder ones since the workload is very durable. Highly recommend anyone to take any of Penny's classes!!

Professor Livermore is a sweet old lady whose class is based on telling stories. No quizzes, no tests or homework, just three reflection papers that are one page long. Super easy A. And she brings snacks every class. I'm currently taking her again for my Tier 2.

She is SO sweet. Just has 3 reflection papers - no homework or tests. She just tells stories during the class and shows songs/movies connected to what she's talking about. Take the time to show up to her class it's an easy A either way, but it would mean a lot to her to have people in class.

She is so incredibly knowledgeable on what she teaches and cares about each and every student's well-being. If you have the chance to take her visit her "tea time" office hours where you will have such amazing conversations.

Professor Penny is an absolute gem and is one of the best professors I have had at Loyola. She truly cares about her students and has tea time for her office hours. The class does not have a lot of work but she loves it when her students attend! Definitely would take her again!!

Penny cares about the bond she can make with her students and as long as you show that you put in at least a little effort in the class, you will do just fine!
