I had Mr. Loveless last year at CONA. He was great. The students doing math 1090 at MUN this year are getting a very good prof. If it's possible for a student to do well at all, he certainly sees that they do. I would give him an A+ overall.

He is the best maths prof I've ever met. His lessons are so clear. He really teaches step-by-step and he speaks very clearly. I hope he will teach the 1000 course too.

Ed is an AWESOME prof! I absolutely despised the idea of taking intro math, but he made it more bearible! Be warned that there are assignments due every friday, but they're not hard, and will help you more than anything, (the text book is really unnessicary). Get Ed if you can!

This is the best professor at MUN by far. He is so soothing at 8:00 in the morning. His notes are clear, and the examples he does helps prepare you for the test and assignments. He cares about whether or not people pass or fail. I recommend Loveless to everyone!

I've never been "the good math student" before. That is before I got this prof for math. He made a course that everyone seems to hate SO easy to understand. I'm going into the exam with a 39/40 for the term. My averages in highschool were always in the 70s or 60s so you can see how good he is.

A great prof for Math 1090. My sister had him and told me that he was the best MUN prof, along with Dr. Butler in Geography and Dr. Glassman in Education. I am not that strong in Math, but Dr. Loveless makes math understandable, which is important.

I recommend if you have trouble with math, to avoid large (300 student lecture hall) classes. He is a really great prof, though. Provides as much help as he can, whenever you need it. Insists that you schedule appointments with him as soon as you experience trouble. He has a reputation as being one of the best professors at mun.

Loveless IS the best professor in MUN. There isn't a prof who has better lectures, notes, and is willing to help you out as much as possible. E. Loveless knows the material he teaches inside out, and better yet, knows how to teach it to people who are trying to get into their faculty (with little interest in pure math). Mr. Loveless is surely capable of condensing universes with mere thoughts, yet instead provides help to students struggling in a course with a high fail rate. A saint.

Awesome prof! I would recommend him to anyone doing any math course! He was super helpful and his lectures and examples were amazing.

class is made easier by him but its still calc so its time consuming. really good at explaining and definitely recommend this prof.

Wicked prof hes very clear and has great explanations for everything. He gives up most of his own free time to give students FREE 20 MINUTE HELP SECESSIONS. Hes just an all around great prof but you do need to go to class and do all the assignment otherwise he'll have no sympathy for you if you do badly in his course. GREAT PROF

Literally the best professor in the entire university. Impossible for him not to be there is no way possible for someone to get the material across as clearly and comprehensibly as Ed Loveless. A master of teaching.

I think pretty much everything has been said all ready. Loveless is fabulous. He offers so much time and help. Going to class is important as he doesn't put notes online. However, he does post sample tests and assignment solutions. Will be required to do a simple assignment every week. He is liked by pretty much everyone. Certainly recommend him!

Really a great prof. IF you're not strong in math, the course itself will be difficult, but Loveless offers LOTS of help. recommended!!

Loveless is everything you could ask for in a prof at MUN. He is more organized than anyone I've ever met and it is actually difficult NOT to understand the concepts he teaches. He's such a nice old man and I would recommend him to anyone, especially first year students. Getting up for class at 8:00AM with him was well worth it!

Best Prof I have ever had. He might actually be a Wizard. Gandalf and Dr. Xavier combined with God and Santa Claus. His assignments are incredibly comprehensive and he uses the Scientific method to show you exactly how math works. Imagine, using the scientific method for a science! I hated math until I took this class. It instantly became my fav.

Brilliant. I cannot stress enough how wonderful he is. He IS a Math Wizard. A Mathician if you will. He has appointments all day, every day and booked solid for 8 hours, he skipped his lunch to help me. The man is dedicated and is the greatest asset to the Math Department.

Fair marker, but extremely helpful. He dedicates so much of his times to help his students. He is the most helpful professor I have seen at the University.

Best math teacher ever! Loveless covers every topic thoroughly and gives weekly assignments but they contain nothing that isn't covered in class. He makes sure that when you get to the exam you'll be completely familiar with every question on it. 1090 was a breeze with him. Get this prof!

Amazing. There is no better prof. Anybody who says anything bad about him is wrong. He makes everything very simple and tests arent too hard. Very rarely gets angry however when he does he gets very angry. But still great. Get him.

Definitely worth having for a prof. Though it doesn't seem so, he does get to know his students over the term. His assignments aren't too hard, but they are the most helpful things in the course for learning. The exams were fair and the course was overall well instructed. Highly recommended.

Best professor at Memorial. At least from my short experience. He cares about everyone's work, explains math as if he invented it, and tests are fair and easy if you prepare like he tells you. It's actually funny how enthusiastic he gets about math, and it's not a bad thing!

I wish they made shirts that say "I passed Math 1000 because of Ed Loveless." I'd wear one. He is an outstanding professor. I have no interest in Math and am in fact quite bad at it. I got a great mark listening to Loveless and doing what he said. There's a reason he's considered MUN's best Math prof. TAKE HIM!

Seriously, Ed Loveless is by far the best prof I have had at Memorial University. He's is very down to earth and has a great personality. Just pay attention in class to keep him happy and you will have absolutely no problems with him at all. However, try your hardest to attend all/most classes because you are easily put behind.. AWESOME PROF! :D

Get Loveless for Math 1000! He is an awesome teacher. He takes a course that is known to be hard and makes it, well, pretty easy! I'm poor at math and Loveless somehow made Calculus easy for me! He is ALWAYS there for you if you need help. Get him!!

The best professor in the math department. While that may not say much, Loveless always made an effort to ensure each student received the help they asked for. His lectures were clear, his tests and assignments fair, and his concern for student success much higher than any other prof I've seen in that department.

Excellent notes, takes a lot of time for his students, his whole day if needed! If you don't find him a good prof well sucks to be you. He does his best with probs. Cares about his students. Loveless is such a sweetheart! He truly cares about his students and will do what he can to help. He's a little difficult to hear sometimes but he really knows his stuff and teaches it in a way that it's easily understood.

Great prof. In a class of 350 it felt like you were the only one there. He could pick out my assignment by memory. Great notes, found the course super easy with him.

He's a great prof! Very interested in helping you succeed. His teaching style is clear, and he makes the difficult topics easier to understand. Somewhat strict in class just in that he won't allow talking. If you attend his lectures and pay attention, you'll have no problem with the course.

The best math teacher I have ever had! I was in advanced math all through highschool, and there are some things I am only understanding now that he explains it. Very caring, and accomodating if you miss class once or twice he'll give you notes! Get him if you can!

Loveless is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. As long as you go to class and pay attention, you WILL understand the material. And if by some chance you don't, then just make an appointment and he will be more than glad to help you out. I am taking Loveless' MATH 1000 course next semester.

The absolute best prof in the world. He made every last concept in Math 1000 simple. This course has some negative rumours about it but he made it enjoyable and easy. It is necessary to do the assignments but they pay off.. big time

Loveless is the best prof in the WORLD. Attendance is recommended since he shows how to make everything so simple. There are assignments and online projects to do that can be a little tricky, but there is no other prof at MUN easier and more helpful in Math.

Had for two seperate courses WHAT A BREEZE completely prepares you, i had no need to study for the finals and recieved A+ both terms. Although there were 300+ students in my class he still knew me individually which was amazing. It's like your grandfather teaching you!

He is very helpful when you are looking for help and despite being in a class with 300 other students he manages to remember you! Best professor in the world. You really have to go to class. I understood almost everything right away, and anything I didn't understand he patiently explained to me in one of the many appointments I made with him. He has a book on his desk for students to reserve meetings with him to get help. He's wonderful! Don't take math from anyone else!

Loveless is a very helpful, kind teacher. He will go out of his way to make sure you understand the course material. If you have no skill when it comes to math he will make you a pro at it in the end if you attend class and make appointments with him. Highly recommended!

Loveless is amazing. I highly recommend him, especially if you're not strong at math. He can help you, for sure. You don't EVER use the textbook, so don't waste your money on that. You won't need it anyways, he has long office hours three days a week. Recommend him highly, especially for first years.

I had Loveless in my first year of uni. I'm now in my 5th year and he is still the best prof I have had yet! He is awesome! He really does care about his students and knows how to teach! Would not recommend anyone else for a math class!

loveless is AMAZINGGG!! had him for 1080 and 1000 and heis sooo helpful. the notes he gives are amazing and VERY helpful as long as you copy them all down. he has lots of practise exams and work online. he also is so good with giving help and is always available for meetings. i wish he taught all courses, so amazing

Easily the best prof Ive had in the 6 years of my post secondary education. No need to buy the text book as he actually teaches you everything you need to know. Amazing notes and can explain any detail in graspable terms. If you don't understand a topic he breaks it down to the basics so you do understand. Get in his class before he retires!!

Mr. Loveless is the most amazing professor at MUN. I'm so glad I got the opportunity to have him for 1090 and 1000. He made class enjoyable and its an easy A if you put in the effort to learn the material. Take advantage of the tutoring he is now offering since he is now retired. He is truely meant for teaching, the reason I'm doing a math major.

Prof Loveless was one of the greatest profs I have had. He was super helpful, explained things different ways to make sure you understood. Had tons of office hours and was willing to go over mistakes you made on previous assignments so you could improve. He even helped me with my calculus when I wasn't in his course. Highly recommend.

Ed Loveless is an exceptional math instructor. Unlike other math profs at MUN, he is a gifted teacher and genuinely believes that his students can achieve. His lectures and examples are clear and understandable. He also has respect for his students. Something I wish I could say about other math instructors at Memorial.

Although I only had Loveless for a couple of classes, he seemed like a really great guy who honestly cared about his students! He was very clear on the subject at hand, but the lectures were a bit slow going!

Loveless is legendary. Goes out of his way to help every student he possibly can. Great professor. Teaches difficult material but will help you as much as he possibly can. You cant go wrong choosing Loveless as a prof.
