He's great. He's really organized and picky about certain things, but he's not difficult at all. He's lowkey hella funny but stays very professional. He's pretty clear and uses many techniques. Not hard at all if you're willing to do the work. And he'll help you not completely loathe math! And really cute, in a weird way.

Professor Barajas is a really easy going teacher..I took him over the summer and did pretty well considering that i suck at math. Dont really use the textbook in class that much, but online hw is a must.passed with a B although i failed 2 tests..study for the test and you should be fine

He's a nice professor, but I feel that he is VERY new to teaching, and he tries to figure out what he's doing as he's teaching. It's been 3 weeks of pre-cal with him, and we just barely finished chapter 1 -which is ALL reviews from Algebra. Its very frustrating being jn his extremely slow paced class.

I had him in summer, it went very fast, but I thought he was a good teacher. Do all the homework, keep up or it will be overwhelming. He makes you have a folder that you turn in, but it helps keep you organized. If you have questions, he makes time for you and responds to emails quickly. I thought he was a good but hard teacher:)

If you're looking for a prof. who teaches str8 from the book...here he his. It's really easy to get an A in his class. Just keep up with the homework and attend class. He can make a lot of mistakes and need to be corrected. He gets sidetracked a lot and takes really long breaks. Lowest test score is replaced with your grade on the final. Cute guy!

He couldn't of been easier. VERY GENEROUS ON POINTS so I wouldn't know how you could fail his class when he drops on EXAM out of 4. Your HW is as much points as one EXAM. And the study guide(even half doing it) adds 10% to your exam grades. And to top it off he REVIEWS the day before EXAM day and asks if you have questions. Its basically up to you.

He does all that he can to make sure you have a good grade which includes: doppping your lowest test and quiz and replacing those with the higher score. You can make up all your online hw later if you missed any during the course but it's best to do them the day they are assigned. Be open minded and prepared to get at least a B in this class.

Mr. Barajas is very patient and funny. He likes to make jokes during the class and usually use the examples from life to explain. Even my mother language is not english, i still can understand everything that he mentioned. But there are a lot of hws. In general, Mr. Barajas is a wonderful teacher.

I hate math, but did well in his class. Yes, HW on line takes effort, but this teacher goes in depth with any problems a student might have difficulty with. Makes math relatable..so problems don't seem so repedative. He's funny and cute which is a plus. Highly recommend.

A lot of HW online, quizzes are taken online as well for each chp. Lectures are straightforward,txtbk used in class, but it's not good since it doesn't provide enough examples to do the HW. No review prior to any exam, in class exams are questions from HW-exactly. He takes forever to grade tests. Take him.

The only redeeming quality of Barajas is that he is extremely helpful but he teaches in a way that an undergrad would explain things: he's disorganized to say the least. And the fact that he takes two months to grade an exam is horrible. I should have gone to class everyday to get my A but I'm happy to take my B to avoid listening to his lectures.

Professor Barajas is a great teacher! He is easy going, and very helpful. You just need to verbalize what you need help with, and he will do his best to help you understand the subject. Having the homework online is easier and better in my view. Just attend classes, and ask questions, and you will pass the class with no problems.

Mr Barajas is a good teacher. His class is straight forward and if you study hard you will pass. When I took the class the homework was online and he kept us up to date with our grades. He will answer your questions and he is very respectful to other students. He wont belittle you or talk down to you either.

I have always tried to avoid problem solving. I just didn't get it. In Mr. Barajas class, problem solving is a must. He thought it in a way that I was able to understand. Mr. Barajas is a great teacher. He taught everything in a clear and understandable way. At the beginning of class he asked us if we had any questions about our homework and would answer them. He drops the lowest score you get on your quizzes and homework. I highly recommend him.

I found Mr. Barajas to be an awesome professor for mathematics. I took him for a summer course, so he had to move fast. He enjoys word problems and his exams are tough, but he is a really fun guy. He likes to challenge his students and knows how important it is to understand math for future classes. I found him to be helpful, kind and hilarious.

I actually liked him. He tends to go off topic on some lectures, but who doesn't... Barajas sets up his class so that all students have the resources to understand the lectures. I like how he teaches stats - he hates calculators & so do I - so his class was perfect for me. DON'T GET LAZY ON HOMEWORK!! It helps you learn & bumps your grade.

He assigns a lot of homework, but he is very flexible. He was always pushing back due dates to work with the class schedule, his tests are not long, and all from the material he assigns. He answers every question with out judgement, and shows many ways to reach the same answer for those who learn differently. A lot of Handouts. (Math 110 LAHC)

I learned so much in Mr. Barajas' stats course. I started the class off with an F, but with additional help from the tutoring center and Mr. Barajas himself (during office hours) I managed to pull a B in the course. If you're willing to put in the time and effort then you will do well in this course. Note: I studied a minimum of 5-6 hrs/week.

I have always been horrible at math, but I really struggled with this class. & with all the opportunities Prof Barajas gave, it was my saving grace. Literally, or else I wouldn't of been able to pass. If you are willing to put in a lot of hours of HW, figure things out & seek help from the lab or the Professor you will do fine.

Fast talker but clear in his lectures. In my experience, the first test was long (10 pages) but afterward much more manageable. It seemed to be more of a way to gauge if you were really up to the rest of the class. lots of calculator work, if he says get the TI-84, GET IT! All in all, great professor and he's quite funny at times.

He's a really nice professor. You have a lot of online homework but it prepares you well for the exam. You can take an exam twice if you take over 70% on the first one. He also extends the due date often. He usually doesn't give lectures but you can ask questions anytime when you do the class work. Attendance is not mandatory.

As long as you come to class, are prepared to do ALL the required homework, and read the textbook, there is no way anyone should not pass this class. The effort you put in here will determine your grade. I took stats with him over the summer and it was very fast paced, but literally one of the easiest, math classes i've had so far.

Professor Barajas is an awesome teacher and person. To me, he is very clear and wants to make sure that the students learn and succeed. It is not his fault that the course is fast paced. He is just doing his job and following what he is supposed to do. It is up to you to be on top of your work and put in the hours necessary to pass the class.

He's a great prof and really makes sure he takes his time with lectures and answers all questions to assure that students understand the material. May fall behind with his schedule, depending on how many times it takes for the class to understand the material, which could be a bit frustrating if you're a good math student. This professor makes sure his students receive the help they need and is very understanding. He is willing to provide as many resources in order to help the student succeed. He makes almost all of his lectures relate to real life and lectures seem to pass by so quick.

Hes really nice and is clear and concise when it comes to breaking down your grade. He gives students lots of chances to improve their grades with extra credit and reviews before tests which are quite long. If youre someone with a history of trouble in math then he is very helpful and wiling to answer your questions.

Yeah it's a hard class but stats is a hard class to begin with, Prof. Barajas gives you plenty of tools and open office hours to come talk to him and work over problems, he is passionate about math and making sure we understand the material, if you're one of the few who survive the end of his stats class with an A feel proud, you earned it

Great professor. I took his online summer class and I loved the way he ran the class. His tests weren't too hard but they did get tricky at times so you have to study. A decent amount of homework is due the day of tests. I would definitely take his class again

He's chill. Take this class if u need it as a requisite, not if u want to pursue higher math. He skipped some chapters like Parametric Equations, Area Under Curves, and Work. 5 TAKE HOME EXAMS 24+hours to complete & allows use of notes. HW optional, turn it in & get up to 10% extra credit on exams. Makes himself available a lot. No quizzes. Youtube

Very, very easy. If you are just looking for an A this is the guy. 5 exams, 10% EC on each exam just for doing the hw. Just don't get behind and understand you will have to be self motivated and a decent enough self teacher. I personally found professor Leonard on youtube to be very helpful, so I just watched those lectures instead.

A lot of Homework from textbook, which is free. I spent 5 hours doing each hw assignment. Lectures upwards of 3 hours I just 2x speed. Hw 200 pts, 4 exams 800 pts (200 pts each). That what your grade is. No cumulative final and also no weighted final. 1000 points and what you get is what you get. Teacher is nice and kind and reaches out if you do.

The class is hard for the first week or 2 but after you show him you're serious about the class he lightens up. lecture videos before class but just watch on 2x speed and it'll go fast. make sure to not fall behind on homework as it is hard to catch back up. if you make sure to understand every question on the homework the tests will be lightwork

Took winter with him. you don't need to watch the lecture videos just take quick notes on the books and show him in person for credit. Make sure to do all the homework and understand it all cuz the test questions are almost exactly like the homework and the tests are open note. Assigns a lot of homework but finish it all and you're chilling.

One of the best professors I have ever taken, he is hard and you will need to know your stuff but it was a great class for me.

Although his style of teaching is unconventional, I think he did a great job accommodating most students. He lets you use notes and HW for the exams. The exams are literally the HW, so if you do all your HW, you will do great on exams. He is very lenient and uses his class hours to review HW, which helps for the exams. Online lectures are long.

Amazing guy! A few colleagues and I returned to take his Math191 Winter Course, a much harder class during a condensed semester, and it's great! WARNING: Only take this class if you can dedicate AT LEAST 20 hours to study. He is open book/note and ALL of the exam questions are copied directly from the homework. Put in the time and you'll succeed.

Amazing professor, everyone else is a skill issue. I took him for math 190, I had to retake him in the winter for math 191. Open note & HW exams and copy and paste questions from homework.

I read the other reviews and he's kind of misunderstood. His teaching skills fits everybody since not all wants to recite and answer. He wants his students to listen and focus not get anxious about answering a question on the whiteboard. He pushed me to my limits and motivated me along the way in passing.

You can use any written notes for his 4 exams - 200 pts ea - no cumulative final. Write everything down! I got an A by watching and annotating his YouTube videos, going to lectures, and doing homework carefully, especially noting how I solved tough problems. His exams resemble the homework. Great prof just a lot of lazy people...

Took him for StatsC100 in person. I don't think he's that bad tbh. If you genuinely listen to his lecture and pay attention he's good. There is a lot of HW but if you do bad on the exams and good on the HW you can pass the class. Quizzes and exams are both open notes which makes them a lot easier. Will need a TI calculator. I recommend taking him!

All the people complaining either lack discipline or don't have a good foundation w/ math. From day one he tells you the exams reflect homework questions. He's the GOAT. People call him “tough” only b/c he gives a lot of homework, but if you do it well, you're almost guaranteed an 85% or higher on exams. The homework reflect the exams w/ small twists. Plenty of chances for extra points. Very laid-back. DON'T fall behind on hw, DON'T!
