Great Prof! Loves what he does. Friendly and very philosophical. Has somewhat strange, but interesting theories. Never preaches, just presents ideas. Encourages you to think. Lots of audio-visual material used. Unique (and IMO awesome) lecture style. A lot of readings but they were good. 2 (unique :P) assignments and a mostly multiple choice final.

Sometimes lecturing style can seem very rehearsed and it's dull. However, Kohn simply exudes passion for anthro. He's always smiling and laughing, very laid-back, and flexible. Prof. Kohn is personable, engaged, and highly intelligent. Albeit, I found this class dissatisfying. Kohn is an interesting guy who is obviously very passionate about anthropology. The course was very lecture heavy- basically no slides or visuals so be prepared to pay attention. Tends to go on tangents so it's hard to discern what's important. First two papers were easy but the final was very specific to the readings and small lecture details.

He is a better anthropologist than a professor. His lectures are not very organized and he often goes on unrelated tangents. He is funny and his class is easy, there are only two assignments and he lets you know what he wants for each assignment. The final was 50 multiple choice questions, mostly about the readings but a few about his lectures.

really funny guy but not a clear lecturer, which was a little frustrating to me as a first year student (no slides!!). the two assignments aren't bad, but make sure you study hard for the final as it is very detail oriented. we were even tested on content that he didn't get to due to his lack of organization.

I love anthropology but as an Indigenous student I was incredibly disappointed by the course content. A lot of it perpetuates really negative practices/thoughts and I often felt really uncomfortable in class whenever we'd talk about race/gender/etc. Otherwise, an easy class. Just do the readings and follow the grading criteria and you'll be fine.

I think in general, he is probably a good prof but over zoom it was hard to pay attention to his lectures. Homework is all reading and not a lot of them are very interesting. The assignments are really fun though, but you have to be creative. Kind of disorganized in the lectures, and rarely uses PowerPoints, just speaks his ideas.

Eduardo is awesome. He was recommended to me by my cousin who had taken many of his courses and I definitely don't regret it. He is caring, understanding and invested in his courses. He has wonderful, wild ideas and loves to share them. It's too bad I took the course online, as I'm sure he's super animated in person.

This guy might be a good anthropologist, but he's not a fantastic teacher. His lectures were chaotic and taking notes was really difficult as a result. All the lectures are recorded and he gives a ton of days off for holidays, but this class isn't what it's hyped up to be. Or what the title suggests.

Though lectures were disorganized and did feel like they ran for an extremely long time, he is one of the most caring prof's I've had at school. He's very passionate about anthropology and his stories can be hilarious. The class is graded very fairly and stood out to have some of the most unique assignments.

Eduardo is a very interesting dude and is clearly extremely knowledgeable about anthropology. He only talks during his lectures (no slides) and gets sidetracked a lot which makes it difficult to take notes. I usually would watch the recorded lectures at 2x speed and pause to take notes of the important stuff. He has some funny stories.

Prof kohn is such an inspiration. While the class is quite disorganized (no lecture slides, just him talking) the lectures are super interesting once you learn how to follow what he is saying. The two assignments and final were marked pretty easy and didn't require a lot of work. Readings are long but helpful for lectures. I def recommend anth202!

Prof Kohn is clearly passionate about his work and that translates to his lectures. The biggest drawback however was how disorganized the class was. Barely any slides, random tangents, assigning a book we didn't touch, inconsistent grading and a chaotic (although easy) take-home final to finish it off. I didn't mind it but many struggled.

kohn is the best you can tell he loves what he does. He rambles a lot but its always something interesting or a weird story from his past. The assignments are easy, and rely mostly on your own creativity. a lot of readings but rly interesting cause they are often about niche topics or cultures you probably didn't know much about before.

Epitomises the "emperor's new clothes" trope. If he tells you enough times have brilliant and innovative he is in the field, he thinks everyone will believe it (even though he has no training in psych)! His work lacks a critical understanding of the responsibilities that come with discussing matters of addiction or other afflictions of the mind.

Where to begin... Kohn is a super interesting person with an enticing personality. However, he is all over the place as a professor and the class clearly lacked structure. The topics and the way he presents it is super interesting, but it lacked a sense of cohesiveness. The grades on the papers were unfortunately very dependent on the TA you have.

Its obvious Professor Kohn is passionate about his research, but he rambles the entire class- theres no structure. Topics are interesting until the extensive side tracking bores you. Loved Prof Kohn, such an icon. I will admit it can sometimes be a bit hard to follow. However, it is worth it for his fascinating stories and research. If you do a majority of the readings you should be able to follow the course quite well (they are long but can be really cool). If you stay engaged and honestly just vibe with it you' ll do well.

clearly intelligent, caring, & wants students to succeed. However, as a prof, lectures were extremely messy, disorganised + super difficult to follow his line of thought when he barely ever used slides and OFTEN went off topic. would recommend if you're looking for a bird, not if you want a prof you can take seriously.

One of the most genuine and caring professors ever. Even though the lecture had 300+ people, he made an effort to take to students and remembered small details about them. Lectures were hard to follow and connections to assigned readings were sometimes unclear, but the assessments did not require much technical knowledge.

Just take notes of what he says. He talks about every reading and what's important. Topic wise, follow the sequence like a narrative. I'll confess that I am already familiar with quite a large portion of the topics but they are so simple to understand using what you already know. No slides/lecture recordings. There's only 2 assignments & 1 final worth 50% so no way of knowing what his exams look like, note taking wise. A bit disorganized, someone reminded him that he skipped over a unit and he just pulled out a folded piece of paper and gave a 10 minute summary of it. Not a bad person, just maybe not the best teacher
