I really enjoyed being in Mr. Berbiar's PSYC 1A class. He was knowledgeable, funny, and made the class interesting. I would definitely take other classes that he teaches.

This class was kind of boring, all he does is read his slides. However, it is easy to get a good grade. Just go to all his classes and take notes (copy slides). His tests are easy, he goes over about 90% of the answers right before.

This class is really easy as long as your showing up to class and taking notes. Those are key to what will be on the tests. You still do need to the book though because there are certain charts/diagrams he uses occasionally on tests as well. He uses a lot of references to tv shows but this is all just to help get a better understanding.

Take him. Professor B is a must.. There are definitely many notes to take during class, but will help you a lot with the exams. He's probably the most fair at grading aswell. Before each exam he will do reviews that helped me A LOT! Hes so hard to read tho lol it seems like nothing bothers him haha great guy!

If you need to take a psychology class, I strongly recommend taking it with Professor Berbiar. There are two writing assignments, two exams, and one final. I would strongly suggest to attend every class and take notes because his PowerPoints are everything you need to know for the tests, so the textbook isn't needed. Easy class but study the notes.

Wasn't looking forward to this class, but once it started I became very interested. Not a hard class, little homework, has reviews for tests, and tells you what to study. He's a great professor, and tries to make class fun. He's very informative. Definitely recommend!

His class is just powerpoints and lectures, but his tests are based on the powerpoints. You don't have to attend class all the time. As long as you know the material down pat you'll be fine. He is really sweet and approachable and will do the absolute best to help you succeed. He will have youtube videos often and he plays music during the break :)

This professor has deep insight into the material, and his lectures greatly enhance the efficiency of learning. Before reading a chapter from the text, master the material from his notes and skim the chapter outline to see how it compares. You'll find it much easier to cut through the text. I didn't realize this until mid-semester.

You get out what you put in. Berbair is interested that you understand the class and are able to see how understanding Psychology can improve your life.

He shows videos every class. Your grade comes from 3 assignments and 2 tests. Every 2 questions on the final midterm are worth 1% of your grade. Show up and you should be fine, didn't read the book once. Reads lectures entirely from the power point but does no make them available. Makes clear what will be on tests, good review in class.

Professor Berbiar has straight forward lectures so the book is not essential but it is helpful. He has these review games before the tests which makes for a great last minute study help. He includes funny jokes in his exams. Shows lots of videos. Requires you to write two essays, but he is a fairly easy grader. Super sweet and adorable.

Professor Berbiar is so great!! This abnormal psychology course was a lot of fun this semester. He incorporates humor, videos, movies and documentary clips to help you understand the info. You do have to STUDY for the pop quizzes and exams but its interesting info. even for a night class. I'd definitely recommend taking him .

He does clear power point lectures that are NEEDED to pass class. Do not ! skip class or you will miss a chapter or two. You honestly can use the 3rd edition textbook and save a lot of money and only needed to reference on pictures. He tests exclusively from the notes. Great professor. really appreciated him staying objective when explaining the material. i can see it being difficult to not inject personal opinions on disorders but he was very careful in helping students see the whole picture. ties in content with real life examples via video clips. doesnt upload slides though, copying notes can be distracting.

His Psyc 1A Class was pretty chill. Honestly if you show up to every class on time, listen to the lectures, pay attention to videos (plays a lot of interestingrelatable videos), and take notes on the slides he provides (easy to understand and read) you'll get a high grade in the class. Use the book if you want a guaranteed A though.

I was disappointed in this class as a psych major because I wanted an energetic professor and more than just a note taking course. This class is somewhat interesting, but its long and the lectures oftentimes seem never-ending. The class is pretty much all note taking and watching a few very short educational videos but an easy A and he is mellow.

He makes a 3-hour lecture tolerable. He has humor, shows clips from shows like the Big Bang Theory, and gives a 20 minute break. He doesn't post the lecture online so you must show up to take notes and make a buddy system because the test is directly from the notes! Only 3 easy tests including non-cumaltive final and 1 paper. No hw, easy A!

Always explains clearly what the days lesson is going to be about. Although its mostly slides that we go over he explains them thoroughly so that we are not just skimming through the slides. In addition to that he puts videos in it to keep you entertained. Overall good guy, great teacher but you will stay till the last minute.

Berbiar is great! He uses videos during lecture & he cracks jokes. His grading criteria is super clear. I've taken advanced bio classes & did not find his class to be challenging BUT it is a lot of material to learn & memorize, especially for his short-answer format quizzes. If you take good notes & go to class, no need to read the textbook.

Berbiar is an awesome professor. His grading criteria is incredibly straightforward and his exams are 100% based on his study guide, so don't skip those days! He lectures the first half of class and you get in groups the second half. If you attend everyday, take notes and study those notes, you will 100% get an A.

His lectures are long and he rarely lets you out more than 10 minuets earlier than the scheduled time. Pretty much all of his test answers come from lecture. He also gives you ample chances to pass the course by providing study guides for tests and quizzes and also last minute in-class review. If you fail, it's certainly your own fault.

He's a really great teacher. If you do miss a class just make sure you get the notes from a classmate. Do the study guide cause its basically the test or quiz. He only tests on material he lectures on, therefore if the material in the chapter is not covered during lecture he will not test on it. Take notes, the exams are based on his lectures. I really like the way Prof. Berbiar teach the class. The first half of the class is lecture with assortment of instructional and often funny video clips to drive the points of the lecture of the day. The last half is group activities which is a great way to help my learning. Make sure to take good notes for exam and PERFECT grammar on the essays.

One minute we're learning about the intricacies of Autism, and the next moment we're debating whether Sheldon from "The Big Bang Theory" would be diagnosed with such a disorder. He's a nice teacher, uses youtube and videos to teach a lot. There's 2 papers, participation, and 3 exams that make up your entire grade. The final is not cumulative, and he gives us a study guide and a fun test practice game right before we take each test. I bought the book, but I didn't use the book at all in this class.

This is a very enjoyable and interesting class. Berbiar does a great job teaching it. He uses a lot of references to modern culture (like Big Bang theory and Seinfeld). I think the class was easy but if you do bad on the exams you do bad in the class. There was about two papers to write and the rest of your grade is the three exams he gives. If you study you wont do bad but its just hard to bring your grade up. He was a good professor I would recommend but just study and pay attention!

I took Professor Berbiar during a winter intercession and I loved his class. He was a great professor and his PowerPoint notes helped a lot. The exams aren't difficult so long as you go over the PowerPoints for each chapter. He is a great professor!

Took professor over fall semester, he has been by far one of the funniest professors i've had so far. no quizes 1 midterm 1 final exam no homework 3 small papers the class is super easy book was recommended for the class but more for personal use not class. 1 extra credit and participation will also provide extra credit very nice and responds fast.

Professor Berbiar is amazing! I needed 1 more class to be full-time and joined after the deadline. He caught me up fast and made me feel comfortable right away.
