So cute! He was pretty easy..he will give you a practice test that you don't have to do, but i suggest you do it becasue when the real test comes it is almost identical word for word as the practice test...if you actualy do the practice test you will get

Im a guy so hes no hot. but he is very witty and funny, extremely knowledgable, and very clear in what information or concepts are of importance and whats just "extra." Study guides are given, but the practise exams are your real key to a 100. they are very close to real exam.

Dr. Chase is a fantastic professor. I highly recommend him, especially if you're just starting out and don't really have an understand of microbiology yet. I took this class in the summer and it was fast pace. He is an awesome professor. really cares about his students passing. encouraged every student in the class. the assignments were tough so reading is a must. labs were fun but must pay attention in labs.

This class is not boring at all because Professor Carr is hilarious! He keeps all the students engaged in learning. Classes aren't mandatory, only labs. He is a very lenient grader on the lab reports, but the tests are difficult and require a lot of preparation. If you need help with anything, he is the go to guy! I enjoyed his class.

Prof Carr is hilarious. I would not have passed if I took this class with another professor. It is tough material but he gives you so many quizzes (drops 2) and practice tests, so you know exactly what to expect. You can also tell he loves the subject, he is so knowledgeable about it. I was really nervous about taking Microbiology. The general consensus is that it's a really hard course. Dr. Carr changed that! I won't lie and say that the material is easy, but his delivery and humor make it easy to understand. PAY ATTENTION to lectures. A lot of the test questions are straight from them! He is the Jewel of RVCC.

As I'm not a science major, I was intimidated to take Biology. Dr. Carr made the material straightforward and clearly explained what he expects from you. Really funny and intelligent guy! Tends to ramble on a bit during lecture, but he always finds a way to tie in his stories with the material. Study thoroughly for the exams, and you'll be fine!

Dr Carr is a great professor. Very fair grading. He is always trying to explain the material in a way the students can understand. He gives quizzes, which are great to keep you on top of the material. Don't expect an easy A. Do your job and you are going to do pretty well. Definitely, would take him again!

He posts practice exams for every exam he gives, study guides and ppts for every chapter too. Lots of quizzes but they're short, not difficult and he drops the two lowest grades.

Needs some new jokes. He is flexible and helpful. Big picture, not a bunch of nit-picky. Many opportunities to help your grade. NO surprises. Practice exams and reviews are 75% of the exam you will see. Remember this: Zombies & Vampires, Dehydration Synthesis, Electron Transport chain, Positive+Purple+Penicillin and you'll be OK!. You must Text!

The best professor. He makes microbiology easy by simplifying things. He works with you no matter what. If you have the will, he is always there to help.

When in doubt, the answer is Zombies and Vampires. It's tough to make Micro fun unless you just have a 'thing' for Bacteria and Fungi. But he puts in the effort and tries to make it applicable to our daily lives. Strongly suggest you take this BEFORE entering an Allied Health field such as Nursing. No single bad grade will kill you, don't stress it

Professor Carr is amazing! I took microbiology over the summer, so it was only 6 weeks long. I wish I had him for a whole semester! He is so funny and his lectures are so interesting. He made me love microbiology. Barely studied and did well. There was no textbook necessary for lectures, but you need the laboratory manual. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

I loved him and loved his class!! So interesting to learn and he always made it fun. Two exams, a final, and quiz once a week, and a group project in the lecture. In lab, there is a lab practical and an unknown study. Overall, just put in the work and you can get a good grade while still enjoying the class.

Fall 2019- Dr. Carr is such an amazing professor! The class is heavy and has a lot of material but he always tries to make the information relatable and easy to remember. Never used the book but need the lab manual. Show up and put in effort and he will notice. Accessible for help and really cares about your success. Loved him and his class!

I had Prof Carr for Micro Spring 2020, the irony of having that class go online because of a virus was not lost on him. He's an extremely fair grader, understanding about student's extenuating circumstances and just wants you to get the big picture about why things are important and how you can apply it to real life. Would take his class again!

I took Professor Carr for Principles of Microbiology. He is a great professor. Works on labs with the whole class, and make sure everyone understands the material. He has a great sense of humor and makes a difficult class enjoyable. You need to buy the materials/textbooks for the class and use them. Participation is an important factor.

Nature of Science- summer/online: about 8 articles/videos each week, discussion, reflection, and writing assignment each week. Its not hard but just a lot of reading/writing if you want a 100%. Fair course to take, u could skim a few articles to get the general idea but u need to cite all the sources he gives for u to use so find something to quote

Carr is very kind and nice. He is willing to help; however, it is very difficult to reach him outside of class. Some emails took 1 to 4 days for a response. The lab and homework are simple and easy As. The lecture exams were difficult. Know well the practice exams and study guides. Overall, you can get an A but it will take some extra effort! :)

Genuinely a good dude with a drive for teaching. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Took him from micro in spring and just finished nutrition. Highly recommend him. Micro was a little tough but nutrition was a breeze!

Professor Carr makes a challenging class enjoyable. The lectures are worth attending, and resources like the textbook and Unstuckstudy are helpful for study prep. An engaging professor who wants students to really understand the material.

Overall he was not a bad professor. I took the nature of science class during the winter semester and it was honestly a lot easier than many people say. 3 assignments a week every week for 8 weeks was honestly a lot better than what I was expecting. on the written assignments and discussions he would leave decently helpful feedback.

Dr. Carr truly cares about his students and makes a boring subject easier to understand. His dad jokes are a highlight of every lecture. The labs are fun, especially if you appreciate science. Make quizlets from his practice exams, they help a lot. Do your best on the unknown project and case study, both are easy A's if you follow his rubric.

This man was born to teach. Not only did he engage with his students but he made lecture fun and interesting by bringing background knowledge and easy ways to learn the topics. I never took notes because of how easy he made things to learn.
