One of the best teacher on campus. He is passionate and passionating. He is very clear and will make you love history. I would recommend him to anyone.

I originally chose this class as an opportunity to take a history class that didn't deal with the default "American History". Dr. Cornejo is an excellent teacher, balancing lectures and collective discussion to make a fun and proactive class environment. One of the best teachers I have ever taken! The reading isn't boring at all, he doesn't rely on you knowing dates, but more of the people in history and what made a country what it is now. He requires you to read since there's always discussions, but it's easy and he does show a passion..... TAKE HIM, YOU WON'T REGRET IT

Dr. Cornejo is a great history instructor who teaches about why events happened rather than when they happened. If you take any history course with him you will not fall asleep!!

I liked this teachers unorthodox teaching style, his lectures, and his laid back personality so much, I decided to take his two classes EUH1000 and AMH2035 over the summer b term! He is gonna have us watch movies and do cool projects. He is literally one of the few teachers who can actually INSPIRE students at Broward College! "A" for caring Doc.

Wonderful semester.. This is the one and only history professor that I would recommend to students at BC...

Super great teacher. This teacher is very interactive with his students and heavily incorporates group discussion into the class, which is something one wouldn't expect from a typical history professor. The readings he assigns are usually a lot, but at the same time the content itself is interesting and fun while also warranting critical thinking.

This is the best Professor i've had thus far. Professor Cornejo is truly the defenition of an Instructor, Professor, or Teacher. Very helpful, and makes the material learned in class very easy. For those who can't comprehend well, he puts things in layman terms and break down information well. If you have a subject that you may find hard, take him.

To be honest, this man brought me back to earth. I wasn't able to focus, did not care about school anymore, and my mind was just gone. He brought life in education back into me. I must admit I hated history period prior to taking this class. This professor is amazing, not only did he make history very entertaining, but he also helped me with my writing and public speaking. I took the summer six week course and I don’t regret it, and neither will you. Oh yea, one more thing, he’s hot!

When I started going back to school in Jan. 2012 I was a Music major, then a Substance Abuse Counseling major, but when I took his class in the spring, I changed it to history. This guy really cares about his students education, he also assigns essays which are fun! I took two of his classes in the summer, and loved them both! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Took his six week western civ 1 class and it was amaaaazing! He's very philosophical in his lectures. Instead of asking "what time is it?" he will ask "what IS time?" and from there the lectures evolve into something so interesting, that you will leave the class wishing that it had lasted much longer. If you need a history class then take him!

Dr. Cornejo is straight up and funny. His class will keep you wondering about the USA. He will teach you the basics of writing an essay. He loves to keep class discussions no text books, but to keep discussions read up on the text book or at least google the class work information. He likes when you google information. You're the teacher not him.

Great teacher. Doesn't really focus on notes . Gives quizzes as well as test. Treats his students like individuals and not just a pay check. Makes you understand and even fall in love with history. Doesn't make you remember names or dates. You will be reading so the book is mandatory. Book is an easy read and isn't expensive.

Mr. Cornejo is not your typical college professor. He has such great passion for teaching which is very evident in class. He loves to question his students about the why's rather than what's in history. For honors class, you have to write essays about topics in history/other books and do a presentation which really challenge a student's potential.

If you have the chance to take Cornejo as your professor go ahead and take it. He does take interest in his students and makes sure everybody in class is heard. As long as you read the book you will pass his class with no problem! Honestly he is a pretty great professor. Taking History of West. Civ. has been one of the best things I've done in BC!

Prof. Cornejo was an excellent teacher. I was not a huge fan of history but he made the class very enjoyable. He has a great sense of humor and made an 8am class something to look forward to. Grading is easy, only a few tests and some quizzes. As long as you read, you'll be fine. Highly recommended!

The only professor I've had since beginning college that really made me love coming to class. He knows how to keep your attention and loves asking your opinion. As long as you read you'll for sure pass, he gives a few quizzes, one or two tests, an essay and your final and all of the tests have study guides. I wish all professors were like him!

My first class after a 20 years was Early American History with Dr. Cornejo. It is impossible not to be drawn into this fun,fast paced class. His teaching style consists of deep conversational insights and his constant, probing questions. Done in such a fashion that you soon realised that there was no such thing as a stupid question. Professor Cornejo is a great professor. His class is mainly discussion. Cornejo will lecture using powerpoints a couple times throughout the semester; however, in between his lectures, he will try to engage students to voice their thoughts and opinion about a subject. Be prepared to write because he does not give exams; he stresses themes a lot.

I took his class a few months ago, but I still find myself missing his class. I don't need anymore History credits, however if I did I would take him 2, 3, 4, times over. This review is a little late. I came to this class not being a fan of History, but left appreciating it. He's not conventional or traditional in any sort of way and because of this you actually learn without realizing it. He's big on writing, but he teaches you how. Overall a good professor, but you must read. The essay prompts are tough.

Dr. Cornejo's class never had a dull moment. His lectures were always interesting and he encourages his students to participate. It is a writing class, so expect to respond to a few prompts. You will definitely walk out of his class a better writer.

One of several courses I took over the summer and this was my favorite. His class is discussion based so make sure to read class. Students make up most questions on the exam and they tend to be harder than his questions. What gives? His point system is straight up. Would definitely take again. Best part? discussions!

Pretty easy class. he gives thesis paragraphs that consist of 3 sentences but WARNING don't wait till the last minute to do them. he is there whenever you need him. the topics were very good. you would need the book! Dr. Cornejo inspired me to think critically about the problems in the USA, like the problem of masculinity from Civil War to Civil Rights. He likes students to participate in discussions, so talk a lot. He likes students not to miss classes, so be present. He is a mentor of PTK, so when I was an officer of PTK he helped me, like always, a lot.

Dr. Cornejo is always there for you, especially his Honors classes He's a very tough grader, he says more than the English teachers but you can email your work to him before and he'll help you. Prof. Cornejo loves teaching history and cares for students! 30% of the grade is based on Connect online textbook completion, which is great. 30% is the final exam and the questions are created by students. He contrives excellent thesis paragraph prompts that cause deep understanding of the events of history. Always looked forward to his class!

Prof. Cornejo is the best professors I have had. I am shocked that anyone would say they got a bad grade, because no one, and I mean no one gets a bad grade that works for it. He has a lot of extra credit and is forgiving for a day or two if you don't turn in your work. But that is the key you have to work. He is tough in grammar.

In one word: AMAZING! makes class interesting, respectful, cheerful and realistic. Costume days were fun, there were a few papers but they were not too hard. Costume days were fun, he taught and related to real life as well as historical background. If you have an opportunity to take his class, I would. You won't regret it!

He's my first history, Major class. And I walked in loving every moment of it. You can tell he has such passion for history; I can listen to him all day. The good thing about him too is that he's doesn't show his political affiliation or expresses his views. You just got read the textbook, and write the answers. I would take him again next semester

This is one of the best history classes Ive ever taken since middle school. The professor makes sure that were very comfortable with each other in the classroom, and we did a little fun activity to get to know each other more. I took his class during the summer, it was a 6 weeks class. He respond to his emails within 5 minutes, not even 24 hours.

He's really cocky but knows his stuff. Gives so much extra credit that if you fail the class it's honestly your own fault. His stuff is super easy as long as you pay attention to the readings he assigns and keep up with the vocabulary.

Had a decent experience. Definitely could've gone better but do not let that fact turn you away. He's a funny professor who is pretty understanding. We had tons of food over the course of the semester. Overall, not perfect (but who is) and would definitely recommend!

I took him for EUH1000 and EUH1001; overall he is a great lecturer. But if you're expecting a massive history course, you are not going get it here. He gets off topic a lot and usually talks about his opinion on many things. Sometimes it gets off hand, others it doesn't. But as a starting point to learn western history, he's a good choice for sure!

Dr. Cornejo complete changed my mentality.. He makes you think outside of the box. He is always accessible outside of class. One of the best at BC! He genuinely cares about his students. I took Prof. Cornejo for HUM1020 and he was an amazing professor. The only thing I'd warn you about is the homework! There are only 6 assignments and they are all very long but super interesting. The lectures are incredible and you will learn a lot about yourself and the word. 10/10 would recommend :)

He was a great professor. Take his class. Great lectures, easy class, no textbook, no quizzes or test or discussions. Gives 7 papers and they are relatively easy. Don't procrastinate and participate and you'll get an A. He gives amazing feedback and is accessible outside of class. You'll learn more about yourself in this class, and wont regret it.

BEST professor I have ever had for any course Ive ever taken. His lectures are a class discussion. No textbook, minimal work, no test or quizzes. Always so nice & very understanding. Genuinely enjoy showing up for his class.

Professor Cornejo's assignments are very simple, however, they are time-consuming. His in-class lectures are great and he engages the class incredibly well. You get what you put into this class. You learn a lot more than just American History in class and as long as you engage and are vocal in class you will probably enjoy it.

Prof Cornejo was amazing. I took him for Spring and it was an amazing class. He knew everyone's names and made it a comfortable environment for everyone, we also knew each other and could speak our minds. The assignments were not difficult at all and you had a lot of time to do them. If you waited til the due date, it would catch up. No tests/quiz!

I took professor Cornejos and left out of there loving history and wanting to learn more. He is very philosophical. You're going to come out that class learning something beneficial in life. I could have a bad day all day but once I leave his class I always left stress free and with clarity. Very inspirational. TAKE HIM! THIS IS A SIGN

Dr.C is the best professor, a true renaissance man, although he would beg to differ. He really cares about us and you can tell through his interactions with you. No tests or quizes just a few assignments that you will keep and look back on in the future. I am sad that I have taken all of his classes because there are no more for me to take. ilyDr.C

This professor is outstanding. He has a method of teaching that is different from regular, making classes more interesting. This class will make you learn things without even knowing. As a finance major I did not think it related to psychology, but during the course the professor made me see the relationship between psychology to the business world

I believe that he is one of the best professors I've had. He is funny and understanding and overall loves to socialize with his students.

I'm a finance major and I took this class for the credit, but I absolutely loved it! Mr Cornejo knows really well how to teach and make you interested in things that are difficult, I also took AMH with, absolutely great!

He tends to always involve in the conversation normally by trying to relate the subject of discussion to the student's interests and what they will major in. His lectures involve student participation which makes them dynamic and interesting. His assignments are interesting and develop a sense of wanting to read further about the topic.

But please take professor Cornejo. he is the funniest and most caring professor I've had so far. he really takes the time to get to know all of his students and creates such a comfortable environment. His classes are all open discussion, you WILL be called upon. No quizzes or tests 100/10.

Best professor in Broward college hands down. Lectures are A+ and if you put in the work you will get the grade. Cornejo is an amazing person and will make you think everytime you walk into the class. Only negative is that you have to show up but he will make the class worth every minute. if you haven't taken a class with him get in and lock it in.

There aren't enough words to describe Dr. Cornejo's impact on our entire class. He's kind, brilliant, inspirational. No textbook but you'll dive deep w/each engaging assignment that are absolutely worth it! If you don't take his class, you're cheating yourself out of a life-changing college experience. I've taken this professor for Hum1020 and for Amh2020 and he is an absolutely amazing teacher who actually cares about his student his class is easy just participate in the discussions, you will learn a lot about yourself cause of his ice breakers. he makes sure everyone knows everyone in the class. please take this teacher if you can!!!

Professor Cornejo is an amazing, engaging instructor who creates a comfortable, discussion-based learning environment. No tests or quizzes, but assignments are interesting. Unstuck AI was a big help for study prep.

If you want a fun class to distract you from your hard classes Cornejo is your best bet. He is without a doubt the kindest and funniest prof. I have ever had. I took him for Humanities but I from what I have heard from his history students he is just as awesome in those too. 10/10 would recommend!!!

I truly enjoy taking this course. Our professor is a gem. Professor Cornejo truly cared about each of us and brought the same energy each session. Be prepared to participate in group discussions. But, honestly his style of teaching propels you to want to participate. Take the course. you wont regret it if you don't mid doing a little work.

Professor Cornejo is engaging, funny, and makes class interactive without being pushy. You'll never be bored! There were 4 easy-but-time-consuming assignments and 2 quizzes based on the homework—no textbook needed. Attendance counts toward your grade. Class runs close to to the full time, but it flies by. Highly recommend! The best i've had so far.
