One of the worst instructors I've had. Pompous and not really interested in helping students with the material.
he tries to be funny but most of the class is just not into it.... also he is kind of boring and not clear about what he's teaching... i find myself staring at the origami birds stuck to the ceiling.
his class is so boring! all he does is lecture and gives two tests with a final and two writing assingments. his tests are hard and he doesnt explain well. everything is directly from the book so u can juss study the book and not listen to him
He comes up with the lamest jokes, but at least he tries to make things interesting. He needs to think of better lectures. All it is is lectures after lectures. Very few homework! The tests are easy, but some are questions are rather tricky. You just need to learn your stuff on your own.
Feser we want you back at LMU. why did you leave us. We need you here. Best professor in the whole world. your life will be better for taking this professor. He really knows his stuff. We miss you at LMU. Come back!
can't understand him, don't know how to teach
Although he surely knows philosophy and has a very nice personality, he seems to be not-so-gifted at teaching. It would be better for him to write books than teaching.
He is difficult, but I found him easier to follow than many of my classmates did. He does challenge you, but he is also young and enthusiastic and not bad looking. He's new here, it seems, but I like him.
He only gives 3 tests, which are somewhat easy. Gives around 5 or 6 HW assignments a semester. Homework is worth 25% of grade. Tests are worth the other 75%. He goes over everything in class and follows the book, so there is really no need for it except you'll need it for the HW. Overall a nice guy
his class is very boring, but he grades very fair. very simple class, but the boringest class ive ever taken!!
What's great, is Feser is a philosopher...in real life. I wanted to take philo 8, and randomly chose Feser. He teaches with ease & you don't feel talked down to, but rather, included. He really is brilliant & if you are interested in philo, I highly suggest taking Feser. ANY philosophy w/ Feser.
Feser....I have to admit he is boring, but a nice guy who makes sure you lear the basics...he walks side to side in class....writes all th enotes in the board, all u got to do is copy them and that's whats onthe test...he tells you what the test will have, very nice, friendly teacher....but must say kinda boring!!!!! Tries to make jokes but ehhhhh
very easy teacher! all you have to do is copy the notes he writes on the board and you'll be set. i got an A in this class without knowing a lot about philosophy or critical thinking. good teacher, easy tests, take FESER!
he's very passionate about the subject so the course is a lot more clear in it's teaching, it's not an easy a at all... but it's fairly interesting and he keeps you awake for the whole hour and 35 minutes
Feser knows his material its just sometimes he goes a bit fast. He keeps the class interesting though. He throws in a joke or two here and there so you'll probably enjoy his class.
very good teacher; clear and concise. he tells u exactly what u need to know on the tests, if u fail this class it is completely your fault...
Feser is a very good teacher. He writes everything that you need to know on the board. His book is easy to read and understand. No papers or homework of any kind just 3 blue-book exams worth 1/3 each. Grades very fair. Take this class!
Cool guy, knows a ton. like others said, no homework or papers, just 3 blue book exams. Just take notes of everything he puts on the board and STUDY and you will do fine. Funny guy too, definetly take this class.
Feser's enthusiasm for philosophy is infectious and his style of teaching is highly accessible. Elucidates the readings. If the subject is of little interest to you (won't be so at the end of the semester), many pop culture references ("Revolution #9," John Waters) are made where he sees fit. His book will serve you well. Exams? Leniently graded.
He's very clear and passionate when and about what he teaches but unless you're highly interested in philosophy you'll die of boredom. He lectures 100% of the time with 10-15% of the time writing notes, you have to read his books to keep up in his classes. He's a great teacher but not that easy at all. Don't expect an easy A here
THIS CLASS IS EASY ALL YOU DO IS TAKE NOTES ALL THE TIME YOU DONT REALLY NEED TO BUY THE BOOK I NEVER TOUCHED THE TEST IS JUST BASE ON THE NOTES THE TEST IS ESSAY JUST STUDY THE MEMORIZE THE NOTES AND YOU WOULD BE FINE ITS NOT HARD TO GET AN A IN THE CLASS IF YOU STUDY
Feser is great, he is passionate, intellegent and funny. He will go over any info if you are stuck and teach you to the best of his knowledge. Speak up in class if you don't get it or he will keep going.
If you have to take philosophy class, take Feser's class. He's really great, fun, intelligent, artistic, clear and so on.
i highly recommend him!!! hw is only for attendence. 3 papers..not hard though.. practice those logical things, and u will get good grade on ur tests..btw, he is lecture is funny and relax..enjoy it..
Good teacher, has 3 tests that make up your grade. You don't have to read, just write what he writes on the bored and study it. I Aced his class.
One of the best professors I've had, hands down. He will make you understand complex thoughts, and concepts. Tests are so freaking easy. Don't miss class, because you'll miss his great lectures. He can be pretty funny sometimes, which is a plus. Take him for an easy "A".
best teacher ever !!!! easy !!! and coolest guy he will go over everything with you one by one if you need. his tests are all based on his lecture which is very very easy i got a 98% in the class only cause of his helpfulness
great teacher. only 3 test. you dont even need the books.. just take good notes.. you do have to go to class..
Awesome instructor. Took him twice for 1 and 8. I recommend him to anyone taking philo. Tells jokes jokes, writes everything on the board. No work, just study for the tests! Awesome dude!
this class is funny. teacher does not take himself too seriously, which minimizes any sort of classroom tension. class is interesting! study notes exactly for easy A on tests.
brilliant mind
if only all teachers were as funny as they are smart; prof. feser is incredibly smart and easy going. LOVE this guy
awesome teacher. truly enjoys philosophy and it shows through his teaching. wrote a book!...one which we were required to buy. imagine that. does not take roll or care about tardies. it is up to you to know the info. memorize notes for an easy A. funny and entertaining, really enjoyed his class.
omg! he is really a funny teacher. Philosophy is not my thing and i still dont understand it. I didnt buy the books, so i just memorized all of his inclass lectures. just the important one. he gives u a study guide for the test! never read a page in his book and got an A! take it if you want an easy A. i still dont know anything bout philo.
It's True he is funny. Great Teacher. Very Genuine.
dr. feser is brilliant. you don't need to do much to get a good grade but you won't learn anything either. i mean, you won't learn anything if you don't do much. there is a lot to learn and he is capable of teaching it to you. how much you get outta class is up to you but what grade you get is just a matter of showing up to class.
Interesting lecture, easy tests, reasonable amount of hw. The only things he needs to work on are handwriting and his jokes.
Very easy class. All you need to do is attend his lectures and take notes. Maybe like 15 mins of reading is necessary per test. He is pretty funny and the topics are sorta interesting. However, because of his testing style you do not really learn much. This is probably the easiest class i have taken at PCC.
Great professor. Very funny in a kooky kind of way. Loves to teach. Very approachable. Attend lectures and make sure you write down the notes - thats all you really need to get an 'A'. No H.W. or essays. I would take his class again.
what can i say about this Professor. Class in general was extremely hard for me. thinking there was no way i was going to pass. In the end he passed me. Super incredible guy. Totally recommend. Super funny with his dry jokes. Awesome. take him and u will never regret it.
Cool teacher. I had absolutely no interest in the subject at all, but his lectures were pretty interesting and kept me awake. No homework, just 3 tests.
I am an ESL student and this is my first time to take the class.I never open my book and just study his notes. He explains everything clearly. Nice guy! Grade A !!!
this class is not what you guys are looking for. no offense to feser because he is a wonderful teacher and let me slide many times, but logic is not what you think it is. its not based on arguements everything is dumbed down to rules and very very tedious memorization, unless this is a requirement for your major dont take this course, its not a GE
This guy is sooo chill. Throughout the whole semester he only gives out 2 take home essays and a final for you to be graded on. Thats it! And he grades easily!
He is good looking and teaches well. His class is so easy, he'll give you a better grade on your exams if you attend his office hours with questions. Take notes, they reflect the exams. I suggest you take him!! he's hilarious and fun. :)
AWESOME TEACHER!!...Very good teaching skills..very fun and hilarious...take very good notes..they will definetly show up on test..I recomend reading when he assigns it..gives u a better understanding. OVERALlBEST PHILO TEACHER EVER!!=D
His homework is very easy if you understand his lecture. He grades the test fair and the essays are also graded fairly. The importance of this class is if you are able to understand the art of reasoning.... He is a funny and outgoing professor!
Two words... Easy A! Pay very close attention to his lectures, they're the key to passing his class! Funny jokes! (I don't know why people think they're dry, they jokes are quite hysterical!) Great professor!
Feser is a nic guy, and very approachable. Only three tests, no extra cred, but a study guide before every test. I never read the books, just the one that he wrote, which corresponds to the class. Attend lectures and study a smidge, and you are gyaranteed an A....hes pretty damn funny too
Feser's class was great, and I found him to be VERY funny. His sarcastic, and (sometimes) dry sense of humor made me laugh every class meeting. The class is easy (plenty of in class notes and a comprehensive study guide). If you find no humor in Feser's sarcasm (which a few people didn't) I would probably assume you're reasonably unintelligent...
If you're seeking to be enlightened, he's definitely your man. He has a knack for taking what would be relatively difficult material and making it incredibly comprehensible. This is my second semester with him, and, needless to say, hopefully won't be my last :] His delivery is impeccable...and his sense of humor is just adorable :]
He's nice, slightly awk w/ the dry jokes, but it's cute in attempts. 2 take home essays, final in class no notes. Just pay attention in class & take notes, if u don't u must buy the books. I didn't read any of the books and got As on my essays but I took good notes. Lectures get super boring but the exams are decently easy so i'm not complaining
Feser is simply the best! 2 take home tests which were short papers (3-5pgs) each straight from the book, on average the longer your paper was the higher grade you got :) and one in class final. Great teacher take him!!!
This class is boring and you won't learn anything (it's just the way he teaches). Copy the notes on the projector and use them to write two take-home essays. Study his notes for the in-class final and you will get an A. Overall nice teacher and good lecturer. He just needs a new method of teaching.
really cool teacher. everything he taught was 'crystal clear' and he made sure people understood by providing numerous examples. the workload isn't even that much, he assigns certain problems. very good philo class!
Lovely subject, lovely teacher. Enjoyable lectures with a hint of humor and overall is good at what he does. However I'd like to know more about his personal philosophical position and for him to allow more discussions.
Feser is great! 2 take home tests (short essays, 3-5pgs) & one in class final. He knows his stuff and he makes it interesting. Lectures are basically exactly the same as reading material, only far more entertaining. I went to class, took good notes, read maybe once, and got an A. Just make sure to pay attention in class.
Professor Feser's class is very ez. His tests are very straightforward. As long as you do the short homework he gives out every week or two weeks, u can't get anything below an A. His syllabus indicate that we need to write 3 essays, but he later changed the first essay into a homework assignment. In the end, we only wrote 2 essays. Recommended!!
Great lectures. Very engaging. Two take home essays and one written in class final essay. He is very thorough in his lectures and is really fun and energetic. The books he wrote were the most helpful in the class. I never even used the other books assigned. He gives a clear outline of what to study for the papers and final.
He's absolutely a easy grader.2 take-home essays,and 1 in-class final.Very easy class.Definitely EASY A!
I had Professor Feser Spring '11. i LOVED his class!!! As long as you read what he says the class will be fun. If you dont read you wont have any idea what he's talking about. He is very corny and makes the WORST jokes but they're so funny because they're so dumb lol he's really cool and not a hard grader at all. Plus he's really cute!
I took Professor Feser during Spring '11. He is hilarious! He always makes jokes; although they aren't always funny. But that's what makes it funny. Anyway, I honestly did not read any given reading assignments that's why his class was boring to me. But just take notes because tests are based off notes. Two take home essays and 1 in class final.
Amazing professor! He's clear, articulate, hilarious, and has a love for philosophy and it shows. He is also one of those very caring professors, if something comes up in your personal life hindering your performance in the class he listens and takes it into consideration. Very welcoming during his office hours. Read for class & it can be very fun.
Class/lectures are pretty boring because notes are not needed in this class. He is very passionate about philosophy, though, and it's kind of awesome. He only gives 3 papers the entire semester and that's what your grade is calculated by. very easy, semi-interesting class.
this guy is awesome. he's really helpful and his lecture is crystal clear. i love going to his class to learn something new. the way he grades is really easy. you get hw every week but they're really easy. the hw helps you do well on the test. 3 written assignment. they're not essays, more like analyzing passages. TAKE HIM!!! Easier than english 1a
Fun class. 2 take home essays(5 pgs) and 1 in class final. the take home essays were fairly easy but the final requires a lot of studying. The assigned readings are a little tough to comprehend but his lectures explains them very well, he really knows his stuff. one of the best philosophy professors on campus.
Awesome sense of humor. You will get an A if you do the following: 1. Read 2, come to lecture, he's funny as hell, 3. develop an interest in logic, 4. Turn in all your assignments, 5. ask questions if you aren't sure about what he expects on your writing assignments. I still laugh about the jokes he would made during class.
His phil 25 class focuses on deductive arguments. Text book and his lectures will suffice for an A in this class. He's very respectful and professional towards students. He must have a very awesome life, because not once he showed up to class in a bad mood. Great sense of humor. Text book: The Art of Reasoning.
He is super easy. Doesn't grade h.w just makes sure you did it answers are in the back of the book, gives 2 page essays very simple, tells you what to focus on for test some things like the diagrams he writes on board are on test. Highly recommend
DULL and hard subject, but at least he attempted to make it fun. Attend class and note take or you'll be completely lost. This is required for the essays and final. Read his book if you're still confused. He's super nice guy, extremely funny, and means well... Just go to class. It'll be worth it. He's such a cutie. I miss him!
Honestly, the best professor I have ever had. Strong educator, intelligent, sharp, wants to see motivation and participation. Do the work, ask questions, write the papers on time and on topic. Great Lectures. If you take detailed notes on every lecture, and write your papers based upon the notes, you'll get an A. If you slack off on the papers, no A
Easy class, I just didn't have interest in the subject. I'm sure he knows a lot of the students were bored because he tried to lighten the class up with jokes.
Feser's a great teacher, does not demand a lot, is clear, helpful, and does try to lighten up lectures which is refreshing since most lectures can become somewhat tedious. Basically, take his course(s), esp. if actually interested in philo.
His class is what you expect a college class to be: all reading and tests. For Philo 8, we took two-take-home essays and one in class essay. The class was boring, but he was good at explaining. I only read portions of the book to help me write my essay and memorized the notes he gave us before the final in-class essay. Technically, it was an easy A
Sharp, funny, patient, clear and respectful all the time. Gives you clear study guides for exams. Loves questions. I found him kinda charming too :) Seriously though he's a great professor and I've gain an appreciation for philosophy and I learned a lot. Take notes of his lecture, that's really what you need to pass.
This professor is awesome. Great lecturer! Class is quite easy. Attendance is mandatory for an A.
The most boring class I've ever taken. Lectures only, no discussions, graded on memorization, overall waste of time. Cannot pay attention for the life of me
He's a good guy! Seems stern, but he's pretty funny actually. Even though philosophy is kinda dry and abstract, he will try to entertain you with jokes. Attendance isn't necessary, but the notes are important. Exams are 30 MC, 2 Essays but really really easy...just memorize the general concept of his notes and you're golden.
Take this Professor! Easy class and interesting. Jokes around to keep the class entertained and awake. The books are necessary and go in depth on exactly what he says in his lectures. Need to take notes but it isn't a whole lot. Loved the class!
Prof Feser is super clear. Knows a lot. Uses great examples when he explains. (Triangles forever!) Unfortunately, he needs some showmanship. His monologue-ish lectures did succeed in showing how atheism can be just as ridiculous as blind faith though. FYI, he is highly recommended by my other phil teachers. He writes books and blogs too.
JUST TAKE HIM! FUNNY, SMART, EASY. VERY CLEAR LECTURES/NOTES, DON'T HAVE TO READ THE WHOLE CHAPTER JUST SKIM IT. TEST ARE EASY NO TRICKS. THERE'S HW BUT HE DOESN'T EVEN CHECK IT HE TELLS YOU TO JUST COPY THE BACK OF THE BOOK. EASY A IF YOU JUST DO YOUR STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!
Expect a LOT of triangles when taking his courses. Highly, highly recommended. He's funny, entertaining and informative. I recommend reading in order to pass exams, but in general you don't really need to read.
Take notes (but beware his writing is horrible; hard to read/understand) and read/study the handouts he gives you and you'll do great on the tests. You don't really need the books but if you want to understand more about the lectures then i recommend it. ( I never used the book I just study the notes and handouts and I did great on the exams)
This guy is super awesome! His might turn out a little boring some times but he tries to make his funny. I would highly recommend to take his class. An easy A class.
Professor Feser is fun! He makes class interesting. There is no room for discussion, it is all lecture. There are only 3 tests (maybe 4) and it is all based on what he lectured in class, so notes and studying notes are IMPORTANT!! Makes Very clear and interesting!
Just finished his class for this semester, and he was a great professor. He had some pretty funny jokes! Very clear lectures, but make sure you take notes! You will need them for the tests! Overall great at teaching. I would recommend.
He gives 3 exams throughout semester. I never read the books, just studied my notes from his lectures (he also gives a study guide so you know what will be on the exams). It was an easy class, just know the material going into the test.
I personally thought philosophy 25 was pretty boring, but Fesser made it really clear. 10 hw assignments (Not long) 3 papers (Super easy) 3 tests ( if you study, you'll get an A) Really nice guy. He knows philosophy isn't interesting but tries to make it fun foe students. Take him, as easy as that.
This was an awesome class. He makes philosophy very relate-able and funny. Some of his jokes may be corny sometimes lol but overall this class was very fun and easy as long as you pay attention in class and read the material you should pass with no problem. He is very clear and once again he is hilarious I would definitely recommend his class
I took him for both Philo 20A and Philo 20B. If he is not a professor he should be an author (which is he is) or a philosophical teachings stand-up comedian. The notes are straight to the point and consistent with his exams. Show up to class, be entertained by his witty lectures, write every word down from notes, and you'll get an A.
Feser is a very great professor! Just make sure you write down all his notes!! Open book for exams. Exams are very straightforward and easy. Interesting lectures and he can speak non-stop. Make sure you do the homework, even if you don't understand it at that point, just MAKE SURE you TURN IN your homework!
Great professor, gives you everything you need to study and punctuates interesting lectures with jokes to keep you awake and entertained. Great author and very willing to spend his time to help you understand anything you aren't quite getting.
Amazing teacher overall. There is never a pause in his lectures; if you're looking for a consistent flow of education with a mix of funny jokes and analogies from time to time, he's your man. Everything he teaches are on his exams, but he explains everything, so notes are an absolute must! Great professor to learn from!
His class is easy enough and he is an extremely lenient grader. If you are taking phil 25 and want an easy A, he is your best choice. His lecture basically clarifies the textbook which is helpful. The material itself is really really boring, but he is really funny! That makes it easier to get through the lectures. Great teacher, super easy class.
Go to class (lecture based). Take notes. Get your A. Class is straightforward, no tricks. Exams based off of lecture, did not need the book although it might help some. Review his study guides, I cannot emphasize this enough. His teaching is very clear and to the point, if you take good notes and review the guide you will easily pass with an A.
Feser is great at lecturing, and the class is essentially him lecturing and tests on those lectures. He is passionate about philosophy, and makes it both interesting and funny. If you attend lectures and pay attention you will do well on the tests. I did not read, just studied my notes and it was plenty.
If you're the type of person that essentially wants to pay for a good grade, go ahead and take this class. Memorize what he says and repeat - Congrats, you passed. If you're expecting to actually have a philosophical dialogue with the class, look somewhere else. Save yourself some time and money and just search for "philosophy" on wikipedia.
You need 5 books for this course and the only homework he assigned was to read. He would assign a reading every Tuesday and Thursday but in class he would just lecture the information that was in the book. He never assigned homework . p.s. he was always late to class. (10-15) minutes
Professor Feser is a great teacher. You can go to class and memorize material for an A. But really are you doing yourself any justice? Listen to his lectures and actually understand the philosophies. The lectures are pretty darn interesting (and funny sometimes). It isn't hard to get a substantial grade. He's usually 5 -7 mins late (not 10-15).
Professor Feser really understands the course material but he is pretty bad at teaching. I took him for Phil 025 and Phil 008, for 025 it is simple and self explanatory, but 008 even though you can tell he understands the concepts and ideas, he is bad at delivering to the students, lecture all day, not many chance for participation, notes only.
Besides being extremely handsome, he is the most helpful teacher on campus. If you attend class and take notes, you will pass. Unfortunatley, his class is sometimes SO boring, but he tries by cracking little dorky jokes. His insructions are clear. He assigns HW, but doesn't check it- HW is for your own personal understanding of the material.
He made a corny star trek pun on the first day of class and it was amazing. Every exam comes with a study guide and if you study you'll do fine on the exams, but be sure to memorize the essay portion word-for-word. He draws pictures on the board to make lectures easier to understand and it's very helpful. (the exams have jokes in them too!)
I thoroughly enjoyed my first class w/ him so much, I'm taking my next phil. class with him! Phil037 was SO EASY. Boring at times but he always cracks little jokes that can be quite hilarious. Take good notes, read, and use the study guides he gives for each exam; you'll be good. The tests are not cumulative, and there are only 3 in total!
He is a fantastic lecturer but honestly his tests are a little too easy. It can limit how much you actually learn. If you pay attention to what he says, take notes, and study the night before, getting an "A" should be no problem at all in my opinion. Nevertheless, he is also funny and gives clear examples in class.
He grades you on 3 tests and thats pretty much all. His lectures are EXTREMELY boring. His tests are replicas of the study guide. This class is an easy A. He assigns books but honestly the worksheets have all the answers. Just make sure you get all the worksheets and youre set
I had him for three Philosophy classes this last semester. He is very clear when he explains things. If you enjoy the material, youre really going to enjoy the way he explains it. Even if youre not into philosophy he still makes you laugh while trying to make philosophy more enjoyable. Laugh at his jokes, theyre funny.
To be completely honest, Professor Feser isn't a bad professor at all. But the subject was SOOOOOOO BORING. I am a student who NEVER falls asleep in class but multiple times I caught myself falling asleep and the lectures were so boring. I would only recommend this class to students who are planning to have a career in Philosophy or Religion.
One of the best professors you will have your whole life. He makes philosophy fun and easy to understand. I've had other professors for philosophy and they ruined the subject for me. But Feser is a master. And he has written numerous books and is huge in the Philosophy circles.
Easy class with a lot of freedom. Lectures mirror the test questions and he hands out study guides. Answer the guide and you're set. Graded only on 3 tests. If you're a philo major then the reading is really interesting. If not, then just take notes. He tries to joke around to make the class more fun. Feser is a must for Philo majors
Professor Feser is one of the smartest professors I have ever met in PCC. The class is kinda boring BUT Professor Feser will LITERALLY do anything to get people's attention. To get an A in the class, you should make really good lecture notes and read the book. Also, drink coffee before class and beware of triangles.
Professor Feser is truly amazing. It is just unfortunate how boring the class is. I found myself trying my best not to fall asleep to a point where my head kept on falling. However, Professor makes really good jokes most of the time which makes the class less boring. The class consists of 3 tests (including the final), 10 homework and 3 papers.
He is extremely nice and understanding. This is my first B because the class was only graded by 3 tests and I slacked off during the first test. However, I would take him again if I had the chance.
I had Feser for philosophy of religion fall18 and he is such an amazing professor, hes old school, Lecture based. Attendance is key because missing a lecture is missing out on so many notes unless you plan to actually do the readings. His lectures were so well planned & things were always clear, hell also gladly provide help during office hours:)
he's a cool professor. he's comical and wants to make his lectures are interesting enough for students to pay attention because sometimes it's painfully boring. study your notes and read the sections, and you'll be good to go.
Dr. Feser is awesome! He makes a seemingly boring topic as exciting as it can get. He is extremely funny and dumbs down the material so everyone can easily understand it. The only grades are 3 total tests (including midterm and final which are regular tests). Make sure to attend class in order to get the notes for the super clear study guides!
Professor Feser is very good at making things understandable. Although his class can make you fall asleep, he tries his best to make some corny jokes to keep you awake. Pay attention to lectures if you want that easy A. Reading the book is optional. Assigns HW but does not check it; its for your understanding. 3 writing assignments.
Very straightforward class. Attend all the lectures, take good notes & you'll be set. You're only graded on 3 tests so it's important you have good notes to follow the study guide. Readings are not necessary unless you are really interested in philosophy. Lectures can get dull but he tries to keep it entertaining with jokes. Solid class & prof.
Professor Feser is one of the best professors I've had at PCC. He grades homework based on if you have done it or not and doesn't check the answers. If you missed the assignments he always accepts them late and before the final he allowed us to turn in ALL our missing assignments to boost our grade. I failed 2 out of 3 exams, yet he gave me a B.
Feser is good at delivering the material. Everything is easily accessible (this is online atm), organized by weeks on Canvas, very clear. It's an easy class. At least in pandemic times, exams are open book/notes. He inserts jokes into the material, which I appreciate. There've been no essays! (He places a lot more emphasis on God than I expected.)
Theres only 3, 100 point exams for the whole semester. They were open book and everything you needed to know for them were in his weekly lectures posted on canvas. Really easy going class and Id definitely recommend taking him.
I took Phil 1 online and there are three 100 point exams (no extra credit or any assignments). He had us buy three books but they are not necessary. He posts great written lectures that have all the material needed for the exams. Overall, great professor, very organized but philosophy is a little boring.
Professor Feser is by far the best professor for a philosophy class. He will require you to buy textbooks but they're not entirely necessary, his tests are purely lecture based and are not difficult at all. If you're having trouble in the course he will quickly reply to you and discuss with you and try to fix any problems you could have.
Goated teacher. His humor is random and niche, his lectures are fun, he encourages people to speak up without calling on them. He knows the information front and back. He is always willing to help with problems one may be struggling with. Never have to worry about something inappropriate or uncomfortable. One of the best professors I had at PCC.
He was a great professor. Philosophy is always hard for me to understand but he made it easy. Really nice and understanding and explain the material well. I would take him again just to understand it more and better the second time around. If you need this class take him!!!
I took his online course of philosophy and it was a pretty easy course. You really only had reading as your homework and he offered some extra credit opportunities. For the online course your entire grade is made up of 3 exams, so make sure you read the material and study! His lectures correspond to the exams though - which he would post to canvas!
Exams are tricky. Many classmates barely pass his exams. Even you read, doesnt help that much. His assignments never show on announcement. You have to check on modules and open each document, pretty old school.
Great professor very understanding. Lectures were very insightful! His tests are based right off the lectures so if you study those you should be fine!
I loved Professor Feser's class!! I learned so much and highly recommend attending his lectures. He explains all concepts clearly and manages to make philosophy simple and easy to understand. He is also very kind, down to earth, respectful, and always happy to answer questions. Definitely one of my favorite professors at PCC!
He has zooms but attendance isn't mandatory so nobody joins. He records lectures but most importantly posts written lectures. He has 3 exams and 3 extra credit discussions. NO HOMEWORK at all. His exams are fully based on his written lectures. Have the lectures during the exam and you'll do good. The issue is your grade is dependent on exams only.
Lectures were 4-6 pages twice a week, no assignments except a couple exams. Everything on lecture pages was in the exams. Super great class and professor.
He creates digestible notes for you to read once a week. This guy knows what he's taking about so his class is fun and easy.
Tests were hard. But thankfully there were 3 writing assignments that are graded easily and homework is automatic credit for turning in. Yes, the tests are hard, but this professor actually cares. I had some personal stuff some up and he worked with me on due dates and didn't even dock my points for late assignments. Study and you will do fine.
I underestimated this class. I thought it was going to be a pretty easy A but that's only if you pay attention. I was lacking. There's barely any homework, the exams are the most important of the course. So you really need to study and pay attention to the lectures. So obviously I didn't pay attention got a C. Professor is really easy going !
Prof. Feser is a really funny guy. His first chapter was very interesting and engaging, and after that it all became a big jumbled for me. As long as you show up to the lectures and listen, you'll be fine. He also posts the lecture transcripts online. There's 3 tests in total, multiple choice with 2 pre-given written prompts. Easy.
This class is not very stressful and the pace is slow, which I think is good. Although most of the scores are based on exams, it is not difficult, as long as you prepare well. Easy class!
Prof.Feser gives amazing lectures. He explains everything super clearly & is always willing to answer any questions. He probly has the most detailed lecture note of all times & evrything's posted online. Grading is test-heavy, so make good use of the study guide and it basically tells you what's on the exam. Final isn't cumulative. No HW otherwise.
He is a gifted teacher, he is able to explain things in a way that people can understand him. His only flaw is that his system of grading is slopy, so if your worried about your grade i suggest you write it down in a notebook on your end what you turned in and what you haven't. I highly recommend you take this teacher.
Take this professor! His lectures were concise and he provided lots of videos for examples. The homework makes you understand the subject. Exams are not that bad as he provides questions that are similar to what you will find on the exam. He gives EC for each exam. He gives lots of examples and explanations that are easy to understand exam topics
Great lectures. If you don't pay attention, it will be harder for the exams. But he will provide a study guide a week before each exam. Exams are every 5 weeks, 3 exams, not cummulative. Many handouts of the material. Keep them, very helpful to use for the exam.
Great lecturer. Lots of handouts, very clear and professional. Also a bit of a demon on Twitter.
Great teacher! Very organized and knowledgeable. Provides helpful handouts, study guides, and offers extra credit. No homework, just textbook readings. Tests are really easy since they're based on the lectures. As long as you review the material, passing this class is light work. If you get anything lower than an A idk what to tell u...
such an easy online class, please take him if you need the credit!! there was no homework at all, only tests. honestly would not even bother buying the textbooks because you can “use your online resources” for his tests. i didn't really learn anything.. but you're 100% guaranteed an A.
Basically graded on 3 tests but they are very easy and exactly what he put on the study guides. Lectures were a little lengthy and bulky however pretty easy class overall.
awesome prof! only graded by 3 tests, but they were all SUPER easy because he gives you a study guide and handouts on each lecture. his canvas modules are very organized too, so you have all the resources you need! missed a lot and passed w an A+, honestly i wish i had gone more because his lectures are awesome and you can learn so much.
He's an excellent professor who bases your grade on three exams. If you study for 2–3 nights, you'll easily get an A. He offers simple extra credit discussion posts, and his lectures are informative, explaining philosophy topics clearly. Attend his lectures and stay focused, and you'll do great.
Amazzinggggg class to take. If you have the opportunity definitely take this class, it's very chill and was a breath of fresh air compared to my other heavier stem classes. It was really nice to have a class that I didn't have to worry much about. There's no homework at all, only a few exams which are not challenging. Could not recommend enough!!!
Best Professor Ever. Keep up the good work of taking down them libs. #MAGA#TeamAlpha#Flibes#Fwomen#FTrans
Highly recommend this class! It's very manageable. Some weeks we didn't even have homework. Professor Feser is the BEST. He's kind hearted, fair, not petty at all, and truly cares about his students. You can tell he loves what he does. He helped my grade so much and I'll never forget his kindness. God bless you, Professor Feser!!
The course was exceptionally organized and clear. His tasks were quite straightforward, and he allows submissions past the deadline. He additionally offers three extra credit chances in the form of discussion posts. The written lectures that he provides for each module are very precise and helpful.
I'm surprised by the low rating when it comes to difficulty, as I found the exams pretty challenging. The material isn't difficult, but it can be confusing sometimes. The professor's writing assignments and exams are simple, but I found the explanations to be helpful personally. I expect most people to teach themselves or look it up online.
I took this class over the summer with 2 other courses, and it was manageable and chill. Just be ready to do the readings and study for the tests, because they matter a lot. The only thing was that he never ended up grading my homework or papers. I was very confused about my grade till the last day, he just emailed me that I got an A in the class.
Absolutely hilarious man. He could get the entire class to laugh. Very engaging lectures as well, although it is ancient philosophy so how exciting can it be? He welcomes questions in class. Prof Feser is very respectful, hilarious, and clearly has a passion for what he teaches, and I recommend anyone interested in Philosophy to take his class(es).
Super chill guy. Doesn't assign homework, so your grade is based on the two exams, non-cumulative final, and extra credit he gives out. But, the exams aren't difficult as long as you study the handouts and lecture notes. Has 3 required textbooks, but I never bought any of them and still did fine on the exams.
smart lad. He's super passionate about Phil. He tried to make our lectures as funny as possible. Obviously, Philosophy is somewhat complex, but I really liked how he tried to make it as simple as possible. You're only graded on 3 tests (No HW), so study the night before. Shoutout to him bc he let me take a quiz late due to a family funeral.
TAKE HIS CLASS, HE IS SO AWESOME BY FAR MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR. HE'S FUNNY AND VERY CHILL❤️
Great professor!! Always responds quickly to emails. 10/10 recommend.
Professor Feser is super kind and funny. Class is graded by 3 exams, but he offers extra credit for 3 discussion posts that add 3% to your grade (1% each post). The class handouts are essentially what the exam is looking for, direct and without any tricks. My best recommendation to succeed in this class is to use practice exams with AI repeatedly.
Professor Feser is awesome! The schedule is clear and he always responds to emails. I took the class online. Very clear directions, the writing assignments were not too long, if you do the homework, you'll do well. Learned a lot and recommend him 100%
