Focuses on sex in every story. If you disagree with his views, you are wrong. Gives lots of surprise quizes, but even if you are in class and paying attention to the material, they are HARD His final was 26 essays had to wait til everyone finished

Many will read these reviews. Dr (!) Hagan is a good professor who does not ask very much; just that you do your readings and are on time to class. I received an A- in his course.

Hagan was very knowledgeable and professional. He was interesting and helpful. Do your work and you will have no problems in his classes.

he gives a lot of work, and his 101 class was based on politcs this semester and wasnt really an english class, he gave a lot of online quizzes and reading assignments. you have to put a lot of extra time into this class, but he does make quizzes easy as long as you do the assignments

Prof. Hagan is great, knows his stuff! He gives helpful comments on papers and really wants students to learn something in his class. Take his course. You'll get your money's worth by earning it.

There was a lot of work but I had no problem keeping up when I put some effort into it. All the complaints here are bs from people who probably shouldn't even be in college. I learned more in Dr. Hagan's class than any other class my freshman year. That's saying a lot as I took 6 classes!

A friend and i took Hagans Intro to Poetry class. I loved Hagan. He knew what he was talking about and went out of his way to help his students understand what he was lookin for in papers and assignments. I think his class was very interesting, seeing as though you learned how to comprehend poetry and understand things that u probably would have never gotten out of the poem. I enjoyed the class and i didnt think it was too difficult! :)

I liked Hagan's class overall but he was very intimidating in the beginning. For an entry level course it was VERY difficult at the beginning to keep up with pre-class, class, and post-class notes. But towards the end the work became routine.

Hagan is a cool guy, just be ready to be on your computer posting pre and post class alot... it really does effect your grade if you dont. if you tend to forget things, dont take him.

I loved Professor Hagan, He has to be one of the best teachers I have had in a LONG time. He is a hard teacher but he deff. goes out of his way to help his students. By far one of the best!

Good class... all you have to do is listen in lecture and you'll pass with a good grade... he likes to connect everything with sex it's a lil creepy.. but other then that never be late to his class or he'll chew you out though he is very understanding if you have to miss the class.

Dr. Hagan is a good teacher, but has one or two idiosyncrasies that mess up students views on him. I really got him as a teacher, but he can be very bull-headed, especially if he thinks you are being bull-headed. Alot of people think that he doesn't let you have an opinion, but I disagree. He will give in to your opinion if you quantify it.

He thinks he is ALWAYS right, so when you raise your hand, or answer a question on a quiz, just respond with whatever opinion hagan said he has on the subject. Otherwise, eventhough its an opinion, he says its wrong. He even said - "a bad opinion is not worth having" - um isnt that why theyre called OPINIONS?

He's a genuinely nice guy. Just don't fall asleep in class ;)

Dr. Hagan is a brilliant professor. I am so glad that I took this class. My writing improved, and I learned a lot about the war in Iraq that I didn't know before. Thank you, Dr. Hagan!

difficult if you don't pay attention. he has no patience for stupid behavior and doesn't like excuses, just do the work and you'll be fine.

Hagan is demanding, but you will learn SO much from this man. He is tough in the classroom but outside of class he is the nicest person. He really cares about his students and what you learn in his class will help you with any paper you need to write in the future. He is a passive and active voice god! I hope I can take him again before I graduate.

we had Hagan for the summer class on habits of writing. He is tough but overall he wants to better you. Go in with a open mind and you'll do fine. Do not wait last minute to complete the assignments. you will learn from him. overall he is a really caring and nice person. YOU ROCKKK MR. HAGAN! =D love merlinda and courtney!

If WCSU students weren?t so childish and lazy, they would realize how great of a person and professor Hagan is. His goal is to make students better people, while making them better students. His classes are more challenging than those of professors who, perhaps with reason, teach down to the students. If you want a good grade you will have to work.

Go to class with an open mind, he is there to teach. You are there to learn, don't expect an easy A.

I enjoyed Dr. Hagan! He clearly repeats the important information over and over again so that we get it in our heads! He isn't available for extra help since he has younger instructors who do that for him which is even better because the instructors are super nice and really want to help you.

At first I hated Hagan but by midterms I liked him a lot he's actually pretty funny, he is a really tough grader though its hard to do well in that class

Do not let Prof Hagan scare you! He comes off very strong but is a good professor who will get you to think. Hard grader but allows corrections. Willing to help & always answers emails. I thought this class was going to be terrible but I really enjoyed it.

Hagan is actually a good teacher. At first, I really hate him. I hated how he taught with the slides and excessive use of Blackboard but it became helpful. If you listen and pay attention to his lectures and take notes, his quizzes and essays are a breeze. He's willing to help his students as long as you're not lazy. It's just A LOT of reading.

He expects a lot from his students and you need to do the reading to pass his quizzes but you will not learn more from another professor at this school. He truly cares about his students and though he comes off tough at first is really a super friendly, helpful and understanding professor. 10 out of 10 would take a class with him again.

He has graduate assistants, but pops in from time to time. Very helpful lectures when he does stop by and is available for help outside of class. The graduate assistant I had was also very cool. Grading is very clear and if you do the work, you'll be fine.

Easily one of my best professors. Strongly recommend visiting him during office hours! He seems intimidating at first but is great once you get to know him. His classes are reading heavy but the material is broken up. He's flexible about deadlines and will help if you're struggling. Participate and get to know him and you'll be just fine! Great guy

Comes off as grouchy, really a genuinely good guy. Respects students who respect him. Come to class, do the readings, and pay attention and you'll be fine. Reading heavy but not too bad if you stay on top of it. Very helpful with feedback and allows extensions on every paper except the final. Funny sense of humor once you get to know him

Hagan is a bit polarizing because he seems pretty difficult at first, but he really is a great professor. He wants to see engagement with the material and contribution to class discussion. If you want to grow as a writer, he's awesome. Not the best with shy people, but if you reach out, he's very considerate and willing to help.

You will definitely learn in his class and become a better writer. Make it a habit to participate every class. If you take good notes, do the readings, and participate during class, you will pass! Professor Hagan is good at meeting with students during office hours and he will definitely give students constructive criticism! No laziness lol

Professor Hagan is far from boring! If you don't have an appreciation for writing or for literature then I guess you would find it boring. He expects you to do the work- that's what we're in college for! If you do the assignments and participate, you will succeed in his class, even if you are not the greatest writer. One of the best professors!

Only online, so it can be difficult to follow along or keep up with the lectures but if you do you'll learn more from him than anyone else. Homework can be suffocating, but if not done, prepare to be called out. Make sure you read, even if you don't understand it, because he loves questions from people who at least read the book.
