His tests are EASY, but time consuming. There is NO final exam. He responds to e-mails and gets your tests scores back to you promptly. You can redo the tests as much as you want. I would highly recommend this class if you need a higher division GE.

He definitley knows his stuff and is eager to teach it. His class is an easy A but it is time consuming. His test are open book open notes ans you take them as many x's as you want. Very easy to reach when in need of help.

10 tests, you can retake it as many times as you want in order to get the grade you want.get the book, you need to write multiple choice questions, pretty easy class, he's prompt with emails and helps you as much as he can. go at your own pace, he doesn't care when you turn things in as long as it's in before the last day of the semester.

Great ONLINE class. A very nice teacher. He is always available, always answering e-mails within a day or two and always willing to help. His tests are reasonable and doable. I would highly recommend taking his class online.

Anyone who thinks this class is awful is absolutely insane. It could not be any easier. Professor Hall is incredibly funny and helpful. If you find this class difficult or boring, maybe you shouldn't be in college.

Now this is a teacher who is reasonable with students! He lets you work at your own pace. You can do it all in two days pretty much and still get a good grade. The tests are a bit rough if you are not familiar with the material, but they are definitely educational. Take him, he is very nice.

If you know someone who took this class good, but if you dont know anyone don't worry. The hardest part are his quizes. There are 10 and you don't get to see what you missed, but you can do them OVER AND OVER again until you reach the grade you like. The other thing is you MAKE your own tests and turn them in for a grade. How cool is that?! EZ!! :)

Like everyone says, this class is easy and you do learn a lot. Tests are easy and you can resubmit them as much as you like until you get a grade that you are satisfied with. You get to work at your own pace and he certainly has a sense of humor. Should be an easy A.

The online course is super "Easy"! You take quizes online and can retake them as many times as you want. No midterm or final! You work at your own pace and can finish the class in one month if you want.

The online class was easy! The topic was interesting and the professor added some funny items in his online lectures. You can do the work in a matter of weeks or months (all depends on you). No midterm or final! Could it get any better?

If you want an A, take this class. Although it is a bit time consuming, you can work ahead (before finals), and retake all the quiz's untill you get an A. You learn, and he is funny. Recommend this teacher to anyone who has kids!

Do not wait to get the test done, try to finish them early as possible so you can take advantage of retaking tests for the best possible grade.

This class was hard for me because it was time consuming. Easy A if you like sitting down for hours or already know a lot about linguistics. 10 quizzes, 2 easy papers, and a 1500 word essay paper. Sounds scary, but he is a mellow grader. Quizzes are the hardest part. The book is not needed if you just want a B. Good luck.

I took his online class, it was great! As long as you get your work in by the end of the semester there are no other due dates. You can work at your own pace. I had a family emergency and was unable to finish the last assignment. I emailed him and explained the situation. He still gave me an A. He is a great guy!

You can take the course online even if you did not sign up to. I recommend it, the teacher is very boring. The online notes are confusing but worth working through.

Nice guy, easy class. He is a bit of a rambler though. The class does require work, but since it is self paced you can push through it pretty fast. I dont know if I could call him funny, but he is wacky for sure.

I took this course online and this is one of the best professor I've had since attending CSUN. All assignments and tests are due at the end of the semester, along with 1500 word paper. How cool is that?!! Not only that, I actually learned ALOT from taking his course. If you want an easy A and like to work on your time, TAKE HIM!!!!!

Like most online classes, this class was not particulary easy and it was very time consuming. You can read his "lectures" online, or print them for easier reading, but you MUST at least skim them to complete his quizes. He is not nearly as funny as he thinks he is; reading his notes and emails is like reading one of the for Idiots books.

This class is a good class to take online. It is self-paced and not stressful. However it can be time consuming, do not wait until the last minute to do the work. The quizes can be tricky but you can take it as many times as you need to.

Online course is work at your own pace. Everything due at the end of semester. Dr. Hall is really cool. Responds to emails. Always available to answer any questions regarding subject matter, major or academics in general. The only thing you need for this class is TIME.

Professor Hall is one of the best professors at CSUN, I took CD361 online and it was a piece of cake. His slides are easy to understand and very informative (fun at the same time, he's funny). ONLINE CLASS SUPER EASY! Never bought the book, just got it from reserves when I needed it. Only due date is the last day of the semester. U can take quizzes over &over,he'll take ur highest score. Nice guy, always helpful. Interesting stuff, but only took the class 4 an elective. If u spread the work out over the semester, you're sure to get an A!

Extremely easy class. All material is online. Class isn't mandatory. All due dates are at the end of the semester. Very prompt in answering back any questions. Great class, very interesting material!

I don't know what the person below me is talking about. All of the tests & assignments are due at the end of the semester so you can work at your own pace. The test answers are all in the online lectures except for the last 4 questions which come from the book. I did all the assignments the last 2 or 3 weeks of the semester and got an A.

He's awesome. Work at ur own pace, 10 quizzes, 1 essay, 5 annotated bibliographies, and u have to create a 30 question test for him. Just do all the assiignments and you'll get an A :)

I took the Online class. Email him early and you can get this class done before the semester even starts. 10 quizzes you can retake. Last 5 questions of each quiz come from the book. An essay, an annotations page. I got it all done in less than 2 weeks with an A. Very nice and he responds to his emails quickly!

I took this online class and I learned a lot of valuable information, it's my major tho. He gives you the entire semester to complete the work but DO NOT wait until the last minute. The work is hard and tenuous but he's an easy grader. The tests/quizzes are very hard, but overall it was a good class.

Probably the best and sweetest professor ever. I took an online class, and I just KNOW he must be so much fun to take on campus because all his notes and lectures are hilarious! and he answers his emails promptly, and always ASSISTS. there is NO reason why anyone would get lower than a A in this class.

10 tests that can be taken as many times as you want (20 Q's each). Can ge tricky but getting an A is possible. The test grades are only thing that determines grade. He has three other assignments (essay, biblio, make ur own test) and gives full credit if you complete them. He allowed me to retake tests past due date since i was so close to an A.

Very nice professor. 10 online quizzes (ur grade is mostly based on those quizzes), 3 other assignments that he gives u credit for as long as u complete them. Everything is due at the end of the semester but finish them early! Quizzes can be tricky, hard, and time consuming. He was nice enough to extend the deadline for me for a few days. Easy A!

This class is fairly easy, just do the work. There are 10 quizzes, 20 questions each (15 from notes and last 5 from book). I suggest you print or take a screen shot of all of the quizzes so you can circle/ mark the answer as you read his notes. DO the other 3 assignments; get them done. You can get this class done in a week and a half, I did.

He's really nice, he let me into the class when he had already let in 20 extra students. His assignments are clear from the beginning and are all due at the end of the semester. I waited until the last minute so it got time consuming but the assignments aren't difficult. 10 quizzes, 1 research paper, 5 bibliographies and make up your own test.

Awesome professor! There are 10 quizzes that basically determine your grade (you could retake as many times as you want) - get an A on all of them and you're set. DO NOT wait until the last minute to do the other 3 assignments either. Lectures are pretty funny and he's great responding to emails. The material is definitely interesting.

Overall easy class. You could get it done in a week, I did. I wouldn't recommend waiting 'til the last minute though, just to be safe. You can definitely get by without the textbook. I counted anywhere from 3-5 questions on each quiz that required the textbook but even then you can always google search those and you'll be just fine. Simple easy A!

Commenters below speak the truth. You can finish the 10 quizzes the first day of class, watching Hulu. The book is necessary for the multiple choice quiz you have to make. The research paper is straightforward and so is the annotated bibliography. The book is interesting. Advice: Pick a 1-3 days over the weekend to complete this class early.

Professor Hall is the MOST AMAZING person I have ever had the privilege to meet in my life. I think he is amazing and he is the only person that truly does his absolute best to help not only as a teacher but as a counselor. If it wasn't for him I would be lost completely, I can't thank him enough!

I love professor Hall. He is the sweetest man ever. He is very helpful, responds within hours of emails, and he truly wants his students to succeed. Easy class, finished the class from start to finish in about 5 and a half days. 4 assignments. 10 graded quizzes, 1 bibliography, 1 term paper, and you make your own exam. Easy graded. Pretty much do the assignments and get an "A". The quizzes you can take multiple times until you get an "A" and are the same questions each time, so easy.

I took an online CD course with Dr. Hall and although I never attended the class physically, his online lectures and material are so educating and interestingly written that you feel as if he is present when reading the provided material. Besides the reading material being highly educating, his sense of humor is what kept me wanting to read more!

I took Professor Hall's online CD361 class and what I loved about it was that he gave all of the semester's work to you up front and then gives you the whole semester to finish it at your own pace. You can finish in a couple of weeks or take the whole semester. His grading is very clear. There is a good amount of work but no final exam. Take him!

I took this class as an Elective and don't regret it. There's a bit of work involved and it takes some time but overall it's very straight forward and the requirements are clear. Professor makes everything interesting and I guarantee he will make you laugh. Great professor who made the subject very interesting for me. Definitely recommend taking.

Great Professor! I really enjoyed taking his CD 361. Dr Hall is the best professor ever. He is compassionate teaching the class, grades fairly, down to earth,loves to help students with any help assistance, wants students to pass and suceeded in class, his clear and organized. I took Dr. Hall's online class a while back and it was a great decision to do so. He is hilarious and makes the material super interesting. There are a few quizzes, exams, and a paper but as long as you give yourself enough time to do it, then it's definitely doable. Highly recommend him.

i took his online class and it was easy. there are 4 requirements to complete in his class and you can turn in all of them on the last day! he can be confusing to many students. EX: when is the last day to turn in all assignment? what is the professor email? he doesn't send any reminders or anything !

If you go to CSUN, you are majorly missing out if you dont take a class from Dr Hall or at least go to his office hours and ask about how to deal with school, life problems and everything in between. He is such a sweet and caring guy who knows his subject really well and also has great advice on career choices and life in general! Best prof. Ever

I loved this class! Dr. Hall was concise and well organized. I learned so much in the class even though it was only for 4 weeks. He lets you complete assignments at your own time but asks for them all to be submitted on or before the due date. Class requirements weren't too tough but you do have to read.

Although it's an online elective for me, it was by far one of the easiest classes I've taken at CSUN. As long as you complete the four assignments before the deadline, then you're basically almost guaranteed an "A". Just pace yourself and do some work while managing your other classes, you'll do just fine.

Dr. Hall is such an understanding person due to knowing students also have work duties. His course consists mainly of pure reading and four major assignments. They are all due until the last day of the semester. I took some much from this course that can be applied for my fieldwork!

Took Dr. Hall for CD 361 during the summer (purely online) and CD 485 during the Fall (had meetings). Super funny. He really understands what students are going through and wants them to achieve. He has assignments that you need to turn in by the end of the semester and lecture notes for 485 that were 3 mult choice questions. Super easy!

During the pandemic he has been the most understanding prof. This is the PERFECT class to take for winter session! There are 4 main assignments that can be completed at your own pace; once you're done, the class is over (so you can easily finish early). Dr. Hall is HILARIOUS & very knowledgeable/passionate about the material. I found the class to be super interesting & I really enjoyed it--100% recommend! :)

Once the semester starts, you have access to all of the assignments, the only real deadline is the official last day of class. You have literally unlimited attempts at doing the chapter quizzes and they're open book, open everything. You submit your assignments through CANVAS and also email them to him too. Only 4 assignments and they're easy todo

Professor Hall is a true gem. This class is great if you don't like strict timelines as everything is due at the end of the semester, just make sure you don't leave it all till the end. His lectures are hilarious, I've never had a professor like him. 100% would recommend this class!

This amazing Prof Saved me big time. I needed to take a 3 unit course for FAFSA since I had recently dropped a course. His class consisted of 4 requirements. 10 tests, a 30-question MC test created by you, 5 annotated citations bib, and a 1,500 term paper. Take this course with this gem! Highly recommend!
