Easy to learn Math concepts. Less stress then other teachers. Wish he can teach all of my Math classes.

I enjoyed taking it online. I didn't have to be bothered any instructor. It's a self-learning course, teaching your self how to have patience by listening to the lesson plans and completing the chapters. Tutors were always on staff, and Professor Hector was always open to questions.

Math is very hard for me. This was a very easy class. If you can sit though the video lessons on-line you can ace this class. The quizzes which are a big part of your grade may be taken more then once. No limit on notes that you can use for the in person test (mid-term and final).

Dr. Hector is a scholar in Math and is there for students who have a Math phobia! Without Dr. Hector I will not have made it to CSULA, and would have dropped out of College. I was able to pass Math 227 with an A and transfer to CSULA. Dr. Hector should come out with a book or CD-Rom on how to master Mathematics, because he has helped many pass it!

ladies if your looking for a math class, this is the professor you want to see. If your got the right kind of stuff, then you your passing grade.

Took online class. VERY easy, grade is largely based on ONLINE QUIZZES. Must complete AT LEAST 80% of quizzes to get a passing grade. 4 Tests, OPEN NOTES. MUST BE STUPID not to pass this class! That, or extremely LAZY!

very easy! anybody can pass this course, just do the online lessons and quizzes. the exams aren't bad, either.

very clear and straight forward. helpful and polite. i recomend him to all students that need the extra help with passing math classes.

Take the online class. Quizzes are open book and not timed. Take up to 3 times and best grade is submitted. 1 hour study session right before tests. Gives hand outs with answers that are just like the tests! Text on CD's. Jennifer the tutor is great!

This is the best teacher in the world. Class is very easy and you can work at your own pace. As long as you do all the homework and quizzes, you are guaranteed to pass the class. This the the best math instructor there is.

I was surprsed when I got an A, I was doing very well online since its untimes, but not very well at the on campus test...As long as you do your home work and quizes your are sure a grade A....For some one like me whos failed math 112 before...nice

THIS GUY IS THE BEST. TESTS ARE MULTIPLE CHOICE. PLS STUDY HARD FOR THE FINALS BECAUSE ITS NOT ADMISITERED BY HECTOR. YOU DONT EVEN SEE HIM ON THE FINALS. PLUS YOU MUST SHOW YOUR WORK. YOU HAVE TO PASS THIS FINAL TO PASS THE CLASS. I GOT A "B" BECAUSE I PASSED THE FINAL. A LOT OF PEOPLE GOT THIS WRONG BY THINKING HECTOR WILL BE THERE FOR FINALS.

Dr. Hector's class is worth taking. He is fair and the way his class is designed allows students to pass. I recommend him to be taken.

This professor is the business!!! He lectures from video lectures which most students found difficult but he will pause the video if you don't understand. Ask questions, cause he will answer them. I use to scare myself because I would say it was too hard before I even tried. Dr. Hector told us at the beginning of class that we were gonna be amazed at what we learned when the course was over. I WAS AMAZED!!! I passed with an A in Spring 2010.

Dr. Hector, May be the coolest teacher, he does not care about attendance or homework,& you could easy cheat on his final. Everyone was cheating on his test and he knows it too. However, all dat does not matter, u may think u could be doin well in his class, but it is all up to him, not your classwork & the last Dept. Math final. It's a gamble.

Best math teacher EVER!!!!! He breaks things down in ways for us to better understand. If you don't understand he stops and goes over it with you step by step. Grade is based on Department Final which is graded not just by correct answer but by work shown. Just always study at home to refresh what was taught. Highly recommend!!!

this professor is the BOMB he helps u get ready for the final and breaks everything down till it can't be broke down anymore. He is the best will be taking him in the Spring for 125, take him if math ain't your thing he helps all that you need.

Best Math teacher I have ever had!!! He is very clear, helpful and breaks math problems down completely. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone who is not good at math take him.

Hector is really nice. His class is based on the book and and the lesson plans he uses are on a software. He answers questions and is lenient on asignments. However, if you don't do signments or miss quizzes he will fail you.

This is by far the best math professor ever. He is pretty funny at times, and does his absolute best to make math extremely easy for the students. You can clearly see the huge interest he has in helping his students and helping them succeed. He helped me so much and made algebra a piece of cake. He is very helpful in answering any questions that you have. Just be on time to his class. He hates late students. Too bad he didn't teach calculus, otherwise id take him again.

Dr. Hector is a really great professor, he teaches really good. Test where hard but it all comes down to passing the departmental final. All in all I recommend to anyone who is not good at math to take him. Because I wasn't good but I was able to pass with a B.

best teacher ever!! I'm terrible at math, and I finally passed this class with the help of Dr. Hector. It wasn't "easy," he helped me understand concepts I had not been able to master before.

He's class requires you to buy a math lab code which is necessary to turn in hw(done online). He's very helpful, has a great personality, but sticks to business. If you attend to class, do the hw before the due date, ask questions(he loves that)and take all easy quizzes you should be bound to get an A! Too bad he doesnt teach above 125 ;(

This class made me want to take math. The way he explains the problems are easy. I couldn't believe the grade that I received. Hard work and dedication sure pays off.

Never met someone so dedicated to his students wonderful teacher always ready to help you out with any question you have. Makes sure his class gets the best tutors to help with the material always on time and making sure everyone is in the same page. Have great attitude and patience towards student. His homework is very helpful.

Dr. Hector is a great professor he was great at answering question know matter what they were he also took his time and made sure everyone learned know matter where you were as a student.

Would recommend him only if you're eager to learn math. Despite all of the homework he give you, if you fail the final, you fail the class. That's the only drawback. He does go over his lectures and has tutors in class, but if you're bad at math, then this is not the teacher for you.

I love Doctor Hector . I took his class for fall 2015 and I sat in the front . He has a Loud clear voice. He makes his goals clear and he gets happy when you ask for help. Grading was straight to the point: homework classwork attendance. We had no test because he was more focus on us passing the final exam.. prior to the final exam he took a WHOLE week just to give us the actually final exam as practice NO IT DONT GO TOWARDS YOUR GRADE after he graded he gave them back n let us redo them... he is amazing I recommend!

Best math prof. ever. Took him for Math 115, passed with an A. Then took him for math 125, passed with a B. Online homework is due everyday, wont accept late, but is easy and manageable. He teaches different from any other professor. He doesn't just lecture, he works out each type of problem on the board and works it out with class. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!

Doctor Hector is the best Math teacher at LA Southwest College. He explains the work in detail through his lectures and is available to help you if you need it! He is the best I guarantee you! I struggle with Math but because of Dr Hector I feel more comfortable.

Dr. Hector is a well respected teacher. Who wants his student to learn and excel in the class material. He explains step by step the all of the mat problems. The tests that he gives is exactly what he lectures on before taking the test. If you do your homework and come to lectures you can not go wrong with earning a good grade. He's a great teacher

WOW!!!! This teach was a gift from GOD for me. I went to over 3 different schools for math and failed all 3 schools. Yes! math isn't my thing. however Dr. Hector helped me. He's not one of them teacher that math hard. He really help you learn and understand the work. Take his class if you want to learn and enjoy coming to class.

First of all.. This man can teach! He will not move on from a section unless you fully get it! He has two TA's that are there to help. Yes, you have to complete homework before he lectures, but trust me, it helps! DO NOT BE LATE. He wants everyone to be on time so he can begin class on time. Guaranteed passing grade!

Dr Hector was very patient with me. If I didn't understand a problem I went to the board and worked it out in front of him. He always encouraged his students not to leave the class unless they knew how to do the problems assigned. I've always been bad at math. in fact this was my second time taking math 115 and I got an A. If you do the practice test and homework believe me you'll pass. he has tutors in his class the whole time that will prepare you for all his tests. would definitely take his class again.

Grades are based on: Tests, homework, class work and final. Final is half your grade. If you show up late, expect to wait outside until he tells you that you can come in. Attendance not mandatory because a different lecture on the same subject can be found on homework website. If do not attend class, classwork grade will drop.

He is a great professor. He cares to know if you understood or not. Love this professor Ive had him for 115, 125, and I will be taking his 227 as well.

Took Math 134 online for Spring 2020. Essentially this is a self-taught class, however, you can visit the professor during his office hours if needed. You will use Pearsons MyMathLab to submit all your work, it does cost a fee but it is cheaper than a physical textbook. He allows you plenty of opportunities to redo questions if you get them wrong.

He is the best Math professor! Took him when COVID hit, so we switched from in person to online. He uses a program which keeps track of class work and your homework. He will use that for your grade. Its very easy to use and gives you a couple of tries before marking you incorrect. Dr. Hector is also very accessible and is there if you need help.

Dr. Hector is a real gem of a professor. I just finished a statistics class with him, and even though the class was asynchronous and we did all our work independently through the Pearson program, he was still extremely kind to offer help if needed. Also, he is super understanding of students' individual needs and will honor your requests. The best!

One of the best professors I have ever had in my life. He made statistics (which I was terrified of taking) very easy to understand. He was easy going and always available when I had any questions. Do yourself a favor and take him for math. You will not regret it.

Hector is a great teacher, I did math 227 with Hector, and I had to come to Southwest college to REDO 227. the Math teach from Trade Tech fail me (BACMAN) she did not explain 227 properly. When I did 227 with HECTOR, HE MADE IT WHERE YOU UNDERSTAND 227 STATS. stats is not hard, it depends on how a teacher explains it. I PASSED THE CLASS. HECTOR 100

This class was an in-person class but we did not have to attend class unless we needed help with the work. With this, I can not give much insight into the professor but my first impression was that he was here to help. He provides a lot of time for students that need help with the work and is very patient.

The Professor has staff that complements a knowledge for the Math subject. Tutoring is available so that students are genuinely able to understand and comprehend the course discipline.

Great teacher. Will make sure you pass. If you don't it's because you didn't follow simple directions. Was there at the school available to work with you to complete assignments. Lots of work but an easy A. Just show up and stay focused

I'm not good at Math AT ALL so when I took his Statistics class this semester I was really nervous, but there really was no reason to be. When doing your mathlab just know that the final is worth over half your grade so as long as you do well on that you should be set. I ended up doing the bare minimum of class work and I still got a B. Take him!!
