This teacher is awesome. He likes doing a lot of group work and likes to read from slides. After some discussion he strayed away from it, but he used to do that a lot and it was real boring. But his group work is mad fun and if you read the textbook, his tests aren't bad at all. I had fun and had an A in the class.

Very hypocritical in terms of what he asks of us for the term presentation compared to what he "says" he is asking. Too vague and contradicting with the outline. Most of the students just don't know what he really expects from us. And when we ask, his tone can be condescending and rude. Not a very encouraging professor.

In his class you pretty much determine your own grade through your presentatioon. He does not "teach" because 80% of class time is spent in your group working on presentation and simulation. The first day of class when you choose your group will probably determine your fate for the rest of the semester, so be REALLY careful who you team up with!

Prof. Kurpis is a wonderful teacher, very approachable and helpful. However, his class demands a major commitment. There is a class-long simulation, which is as hard as it is time-consuming. There is also a 45 min long presentation - pretty hard! It is a major research project, so start early!

Prof Kurpis's BPL will be the best preparation you can get for Corporate America. The class is hard and time-consuming, not a class a "lazy senior just trying to pass" should take. However if you put in the hard work and effort, he notices and will grade accordingly. Grading is heavily relied on sim & presentation, so choose your group carefully

The oral part of the exam was part his April fool's joke to us. There wasn't really an oral essay. Exams aren't the easiest and some of the sections are tricky, but as along as you read over the textbook and focus on the pwrpt slides and your notes, you should do fine. So insightful. Incredible lectures, so worth your time and tuition. I learned so much about strategic management, scanning, analysis, and how business should be run. I wish he taught more classes, I'd take them in a heartbeat.

Professor Kurpis is amazing! The class is very heavy on readings and class participation but I learned so much and if you do the work, you'll get a good grade. Very knowledgeable and inspirational professor who genuinely cares about his students, and a very fast grader. If you have the opportunity to take him, don't hesitate.

Before this class, I thought "synergy" was just the name of a sports drink, but you should have seen the look on the interviewer's face when I dropped it mid-conversation. Make sure to READ EVERYTHING and PARTICIPATE CONSTANTLY. This class is not easy, but it will teach you things that you will really use throughout your career.

A legend. Extremely knowledgable in strategy and analyzing companies and situations. Mentioned his life experience and is so talented and humble. I would take any class this man taught. If he had a podcast, I'd listen to it like a religion. Extremely clear thinker and great communicator.

I'm sure you don't need my review to get that Prof Kurpis is amazing. Fun lectures every week. Occasional hands-on group activity. Drops lowest test grade out of 3. Last test was open note. 5 group progress reports. Gives great feedback to help for your final presentation & report. Very fair class for BPL.

He is the best professor I took for the evening MBA program. He is nice and knows his material. You can really learn from him. He is very respectful and like students' discussion. 3 out of 5 case study, one midterm, one final, one simulation. I will recommend him

GET READY TO WORK! A lot of work but definitely worth it. Very knowledgeable in his field. He is a very nice man and cares about the subject. However, he is certainly nitpicky in his grading. In his assignments, he is usually looking for specific responses so make sure to include those. He LOVES participation. He gives very good feedback.

Convinced he writes his own reviews because most people I know disliked him. He was often rude and arrogant, and assigned way more work than other professors. He also assigned a 30 page paper on top of a 30 min presentation. It was clear he didn't actually read the papers, maybe skimmed. He was a good lecturer, but the class was overly stressful

If you HAVE to take BPL honors, take any other professor. He assigns so much more work than any other BPL class and is such a nitpicky grader. Ex: he wants a 30min presentation (everyone has this in BPL) + a 30p paper (other BPL sections just ask for a 5-7pg paper). He also gets such an attitude if you tell him you think he's wrong about something

I took the honor section. He tries his best to give us all As. You have to study his ppt for the exams, some questions can be a bit tricky just read them carefully. The final project is an accumuation of progress reports we had to work on in groups and at the end we have to give a consulting presentation on it. I would take him again.

I'll preface by saying that there are other BPL profs that are easier, however, for honors section profs, I really enjoyed Prof. Kurpis. He's an extremely smart guy. makes the class very engaging, and really does want everyone to get an A in the class. His quizzes are pretty difficult and are based on the textbook, but I enjoyed the class overall

The professor is brilliant and engaging, though the course load can be heavy. Incorporating Unstuck ai into study prep really helped me ace the tricky exams. Overall, a rewarding class.
