Dr. Meda's class was one of the classes that I looked forward to going to his lectures were amazing and he compared a lot of the topics to his own experience, which made it interesting and easier to remember. He makes material fun and helps as much as he can with anything you have questions on I loved his class and I would definitely take him again
Clearly has a lot of experience in the marketing field, sometimes likes to brag about himself which may seem cocky. Lectures are hilarious, tests can be tricky so studying the lecture notes and text book is helpful. Quizzes are common so its good to pay attention in class.
Professor Meda is one of the best I've had throughout my college career. He genuinely cares for his students and encourages teamwork. The other class (Professor Dover's) has had a nightmarish experience, so I'm very lucky to have been placed in Meda's class. Highly recommend to anyone! A shame he's not teaching advanced next semester :(
I have so much respect for Professor Meda. He has always made himself available for his students. He pushes you, but in a way that you know he wants the best for you. He is a professor that truly makes you feel like there isn't anything you can't do. I am sad to hear that he wont be teaching next semester. He had such a positive impact on so many!
He's a really kind person. Genuinely cares about his students and wants to help them succeed. Also believes in teamwork which is what sets him apart from other sales professors. I wish he was teaching more sales classes! Anyway, I really enjoyed his class and would highly recommend to everyone.
Quiz every week, Prepare to study, Two marketing projects that the professor is unclear what he is looking for then has TA grade them. Not an easy A!
Professor Meda is awesome! I loved his lectures and his sharing of his marketing experience. He gives a ten question quiz at the end of each chapter so pay attention to his slides. Two - Three assignments that will take some time and four exams that do require studying. He is very fair with grading. He is not picky regarding which edition textbook.
Professor Media is awesome! i loved hearing his experience in business! he makes sure his class isn't boring. Attendance is not mandatory but there are chapter quizzes at the end of the chapter based on his slides. Focus on the slides and you should be set!
Attendance is mandatory but class isn't bad. He teaches very useful information that can be taken into the real world. Quizzes are very hard but there is lots of opportunity for extra credit so don't worry about your grade. Participate in class and you will be fine.
Ed Meda is easily my favorite professor that I've had at UTD so far. He is incredibly generous with grading and even if you don't do well on his quizzes, participating in Rookie Preview will be more than enough to get an A.
Professor Meda is a great professor. I have had him for marketing and organizational behavior. His lectures are clear and his stories are great. Study the slides and skim the book to do well in his class. Quiz after each chapter, 4 tests, and 2 papers are the only assignments. Very generous with due dates.
I absolutely enjoyed every minute of Meda's lectures. He cracks me up with his booze comments. His lectures are short and concise. A lot of people say that he goes off on a tangent when explaining things but in reality he's putting it into terms you can actually understand. I would totally take him again.
All I can really say is just take this guy, you will pass as long as you read and if you do the work. He is awesome and you'd be doing a disservice to yourself if you didn't take a great teacher like him.
Great professor, lectures are fun and very informative. Each chapter/lecture requires a take-home quiz due at the beginning of class. Quizzes are directly from the book, not bad at all. Enjoyed the class, would definitely take him again.
AMAZING! Love Prof. Meda. He has tons of real world experience and applies it in lectures. quizzes are take home. Tests are relatively easy..50 q's and 25 q's are straight from quizzes. 2 papers that are not bad at all but they will make you think of things from a different prospective. I can't wait to take him for more OBHR courses!!!!!!!
Funny guy. Understands what its like to be a student balancing school, work, and everything else. Works with his students and takes their opinions into account. A few take home quizzes, two writing assignments, and 4 tests. Writing assignments give you lots of freedom on how to format your paper. Test includes quiz answers. No excuse to not make A
Take him. Very understanding professor. Makes lectures interesting by referring to real-world examples. He often lets you out early (and occasionally cancels class). 14 take home quizzes that are easy 100's. 4 MC tests with half the q's from the quizzes. 2 papers that are pretty easy ( got A's on both with only a few hours of work each)
Best professor ever! He's very kind and understanding and I really enjoyed going to his classes. I wish he would teach many other classes and I would most definitely take him again and again! I highly recommend him! You will not regret it!
Great insight given from his professional background, loved the class.
One of my favorite professors! Two tests and a group project. I learned a lot in his class and he really cares about his students. He makes sure we understand assignments, gives us fun reading assignments and actually admits when he makes mistakes. I really appreciated his attitude, definitely take him if you can!
He is one of the best teachers ever!! Has many relevant real life examples to help you understand concepts. He is the best, take him!!
Very good professor. I enjoyed his class, he has many stories and experiences to incorporate in the lecture. He's very funny although I feel like most of my class didn't get the humor. Overall I highly recommend him!
Professor Meda is a very interesting guy. Attendance isn't required but he takes random extra credit attendance. There are 4 exams, 50 questions each; 25 of the questions come from the homework quizzes. There are also 2 papers, and they are opinion based.
Meda is a gem. The way he speaks in such a positive manner to students really shines. Half of the test questions come from the chapter quizzes. Two papers, if you write them according to the directions you'll have at least an 80. Usually lets out lecture early too so that's a bonus. A few extra credit opportunities, including attendance checks.
By far my favorite professor of this semester. He loves this subject and is great at teaching it. He's very laid back and usually lets classes out early. Tests aren't hard if you study his powerpoints, and the papers are interesting to write. I would definitely take him again!
This was a great class. The subject matter sucks, but thats hr for you. He does his best to make it palatable and to keep the class engaged. Throughout the semester he gave plenty of options for extra credit. His lectures were the best part and although attendance isnt mandatory. I highly suggest it.
This professor was amazing. This class was ideal for those who are not majoring in Marketing. He knows the material and is very knowledgeable. He can get off subject sometimes with his funny stories and great examples. We had 4 exams (easy if you read the textbook), 15 quizzes (easy) and 1 paper (easy). He was very understanding and laid-back.
Meda is a GREAT professor I have taken him for 2 classes and will be taking him again in spring. He really cares about his students as long as he knows you care. This was the first time for this class so it was a little rocky but good. 3 exams, 1 group project, several 1-page papers. overall, pretty easy class if you go to class and participate.
I am currently taking his MKT 3300 class and it is his third year of teaching at UTD. The quizzes are by-the-book, lectures kept me awake even at 10am, very down-to-earth professor and super lenient. Just follow the syllabus and what he recommends you study for the exams and you will pass. Easy A+/A-
I'm a marketing major and this class felt too easy for me. Here is how I am currently passing the class: skim the text chapters, show up, turn in the quizzes (20 total; need scantrons), read the powerpoints the day/night before the exam, take occasional notes, do my best on everything else. So far, I can't complain. Take him.
He teaches such an easy course so it's easy to make an A in this class. The layout of this class is exactly as the other comments on here. As long as you do the quizzes that are required, there will be 25/50 on the test that are from the quizzes. It's an easy class! On top of that, Edward Meda is the hottest professor I've ever had!
I LOVED PROFESSOR MEDA! Do yourself a favor and TAKE HIM!
All quizzes are take home, and the test has 25 questions out of the 50 which come from the quizzes. first test i memorized take home quizzes and read learning objectives in book got 85, just memorizing take home quizzes will get u about 70. i had one paper because i did the long one day a week class with him, so he made attendance a test grade.
Prof. Meda's class was the most informative class of my college career. I am starting to think that it was worth sticking it out just to take his class the last semester. He doesn't compromise once a decision is made, but he involves everyone in decisions. If you aren't quite sure what to do with yourself, just take his class and chat with him.
Professor Meda has lots of experience in the business world and uses it to teach the material/make it relevant. Read the chapters to do the quizzes, review the quizzes and you can ace the test. Gives lots of bonus points for low attendance days so go to class! Very understanding will work to get you the best grade but you still have to work for it!
The exams are easy, however, you will really need to read the textbook in order to answer the questions on the exam. He offers many opportunities for bonus points so it is impossible to fail to the course. His lectures are inspiring and are about the real-world. His lectures may not help for the exam, but they are always nice to listen to!
I really enjoyed professor Meda's class. He was pretty funny and made marketing interesting and super easy to understand. He gives bonus points throughout the semester for random things, like attending on random nights. There are two papers and four exams with weekly quizzes that are an easy 100. He genuinely cares about students' success.
Professor Meda is fantastic. I am not a MKT major so I was really worried about this class. He makes the information so easy to understand, and he is overall just a kind person. Quizzes every week, but doing them helps you prepare for the exam and understand the content. 4 tests, 2 papers.
If you just want credit for the class and not to learn, definitely take his class! Professor Meda is probably the worst professors I've gotten. Took two of his classes, and in both he was never organized. He uses lecture time for ice-breakers throughout the entire semester. I am sure I did not learned anything in his class.
Meda is simple, read the book & you'll be fine. ppts are available but you can't study them & expect an A. he gives take home quizzes for 10 points each and most of them are on quizlet. Attendance isnt really mandatory but he does take attendance sometimes for bonus points. 35 bonus are available for the semester. 2 papers(opinion&marketing plan)
Please take him!!! He is an amazing professor and there is no way you can fail his class. He knows what he is doing and replies to emails very quickly. he also updates grades ASAP. best professor at UTD. Just study the quizzes and power points to pass the exam!!
Super great professor. Lots of take home quizzes but are not that difficult if you read the textbook. He accepts late assignments. He offers bonus points when you come to class. Theres only two major essays but grades fairly easily. No study guide for exams but many of the exams questions come from the take home quizzes. Overall great class.
Super entertaining guy. Once a week, Friday afternoons 1-3:45. I always had a good time coming to that class. Tests are usually from the quizzes so it's not too hard to pass them. Offers extra credit for easy out of class assignments and attendance bonus points. There are 2 papers which take some time to write, but overall great class, cool prof
Good teacher, easy class. he gives take home quizzes after every chapter. you have 2 papers to write through out the semester. no final just 4th exam. study and pass
Professor Meda is an incredible teacher and cares about each and every one of his students. He is an inspirational teacher, accessible outside of class, and gives really good lectures about real world situations and solutions. He is by far my favorite teacher I have ever had, as I took both his Marketing and Human Resource classes. Take his class!
Hes an amazing professor and he really cares about his students.
Random extra credit for attendance, 2 papers worth the same as the 4 exams, plus 2 quizzes due every week means its easy to keep up your grade. Quizzes are possible without the book but it helps, some exams easier than others, often have many quiz questions. Sometimes just reads off slides, but usually verbally confirms what topics will be on exam
Great professor and guy. He was always open to talk about both career advice and class work. Only a couple of papers, many quizzes, and 5 tests. He counts attendance so show up. But would take again.
a true gem, would def recommend - 15 quizzes, 5 tests, and 2 essays that balance the class out. buy the test banks w a group - easy 100's on quizzes + helps you study for the test since he copy pastes questions. definitely an easy A and the professor is the best, super inspirational - he rambles a bunch but gives great advice and LOTS of extra cred
Professor Meda is a very knowledgeable person that teaches you how to apply what you learn in real life situations. He is funny, makes the class enjoyable and loves to tell stories from when he used to work in the corporate world. He is caring and provides you with opportunity for extra credit. Responds to emails within hours. Posts grades same day
Ed has a method to his madness, he was one of the most daring teachers I'd ever had. He made things easy when they needed to, but when the material became challenging he would let the class argue it out before he explained the subject matter further. He has so much real world business experience, so character and so much empathy.
REALLY GOOD PROFESSOR!!! I took him for Principles of Marketing, and I can assurely say that Professor Meda gives great lectures, gives timely feedback on assignments, and is always willing to work around your schedule. He is awesome!
REALLY GOOD PROFESSOR!!! I took him for Principles of Marketing, and I can surely say that Professor Meda gives great lectures, gives timely feedback on assignments, and is always willing to work around your schedule. He is awesome!
He's the best choice for OBHR. He's so nice and reasonable with his expectations for the class. There are 16 Quizzes, 3 exams, and 2 papers that are easy as long as you study and put in some effort. Highly recommend.
Professor Meda gave the most entertaining and informative lectures I've ever heard. His grading criteria is always extremely clear and he's very understanding if you're struggling with something in relation to his class. He's an absolutely must take if possible.
If you don't take Professor Meda, something is wrong with you. Love his lectures and he understands marketing, although he's no longer teaching it. He's still teaching OBHR 3330 so all is not lost. Take him!!!
Meda is cool, but sometimes gets lost in the sauce. Group project with no presentation, 11 quizzes, 11 paper, 2 free response exams, and they are all easy. I learned everything from the notes and the group project, but its just a really easy going class. Just take him!
Amazing professor, I can bet everything that you will love him, he's so funny, he was the best. I finished with an effortless A. Not many professors will have you in a good mood walking into class like him, you will genuinely enjoy being there, just not on test days lol.
He's the BEST! Extremely sweet and has good connections in Southwest and other big companies. He takes a minimum of 4 out of 10 questions per quiz and puts in on the exam, making the exams pretty easy along with the 16 quizzes and 2 essays. But do NOT use the test bank as recommended by other raters here! It's plagerism! Take him! Good luck :)
Meda seems like a really nice guy. Only drawback is he uses McGraw-Hill Connect, which is quite expensive. Homework is long and tedious, but quizzes and exams are easy. Overall, this is an easy, stress-free class and I would recommend him.
This class is an easy A. The weekly McGraw-Hill Connect homework is pretty long and tedious, but it's still easy and manageable (just make sure you don't forget when they're due bc professor does NOT send reminders). Quizzes are short & easy, the paper was easy 100 as long as you put in the effort, and exams were okay too. Everything is on Quizlet.
Took him online. You have one assignment with roughly 40 questions or so and one quiz w/ 10 questions due every week. The quiz q's can be found online. There are 3 exams which can be found online. The HW is time-consuming but very easy. One paper. That's it. He is very easy and responds very quickly to your emails.
Professor Meda is amazing! I have had him for a few of my Human Resource Classes and it was an honor to learn from someone like him. He is very knowledgeable, fair and goes above and beyond for his students. I will miss being apart of his classes, he is definitely one of the best professors at UTD and they are so blessed to have him. Take him!!!!
One of my favorite professors by far. He cares about his students and wants them all to succeed. His lectures are a bit long but they are so interesting if you are into the subject. I will be taking him next semester and I cannot wait. I totally recommend Professor Meda!
Easy A! There were readings/assignments due every week. His class was pretty straightforward.
Great class. Professor Meda had very good lectures. The tests were not simple but the textbook off of McGraw Hill Connect provided a lot of great readings that were covered on the exams. One paper, exams and homework assignments which were really helpful preparation for the exams as well as balancing the overall grade average.
used MHedu, 10 weekly quizzes, 10 weekly case study papers, 1pg each. 2 Kotter books to read, 1 group crisis management paper. super laid back prof and easy on grading and due dates if you have problems with the papers. 2 Exams through MHedu (not proctored), and open note. TAKE ALL OF HIS CLASSES IF YOU CAN!
Professor Meda was very sweet and caring when it came to turning in assignments and answering questions. There were cases due every week, super easy and interesting, and McGraw Hill due every week, also super easy. His tests were straight out of the slides. We had to read two books as well, they were very interesting. I definitely recommend him!!!
Lectures are pretty dense but he tries to keep people interested. He pointed out about 10 things per chapter that would be on the test (4 tests total). You'll have to put in some work for the paper but it's not bad. 1hr textbook assignments every week + online quiz. He also gave us extra credit for showing up (the reason I got an A)
Show up to class and OBHR will be a breeze. He is very clear about his expectations and what he will include on the exams. He is also an engaging lecturer, often bringing in real-life stories for examples. Great Professor. He will do everything to help YOU.
Awesome professor! There were 3 exams, 1 paper, and weekly homework and quizzes that were easy. His exams were tough but this semester he started doing test reviews, so you knew what to study. He has a lot of wisdom, knowledge, and stories. Take him before he retires!
If you follow him in class and do your homework, you will get an A. 3 exam. one paper. He is a very knowledgeable person.
GREAT PROFESSOR! TAKE BEFORE HE RETIRES! took fall 2022 - classes are lecture-based and he does take attendance. he tells u exact things that will be on the test during lecture. grade based on hw (can be time consuming but its graded on completion), quizzes (easy), and exams - nothing else. he gives reviews before every exam that are SUPER helpful
One of the best professors at UTD. Two easy exams, half of the semester is connect homework and quizzes which are easy but time consuming. The second half of the semester he has you do case studies which are fairly easy as well. We had a group project that turned into a group paper. Stress-free class and you have awesome discussions.
Online mcgraw-hill assignments, case studies and a group project, Meda is very easy going and flexible I recommend
Hands down the best professor I've had so far!! Quizzes and homework are easy and nicely cushion your grade. Getting a B or higher on the exams and paper makes the class an easy A. He uses analogies to help students understand concepts and his test reviews all but give you the answers on exams. Can't recommend him enough!
Imagine being a great lecturer and telling your students everything you need to know for exams is on the slides only to be thrown questions from the textbook. The questions are tricky & does not give adequate time to complete exam even tho class is 2 hours long. Teachers like these make students doubt themselves and have negative view of school.
Great professor, take him if you can before he retires
Excellent lecturer.
This course would be easy to get an A- but getting an A was challenging. If you are just taking this course to pass, take him.
Take him before he retires! He is nice and wants the best for his students. The tests are challenging, but the in-class reviews are helpful. The homework has unlimited attempts but takes a long time. The quizzes are really easy. The essay is ten pages. You have to work hard for your grade in this class, but the concepts are easy to understand.
Great choice. Graded by exams, an essay, and homework/quizzes. Homework is time consuming but set you up decently for the exams. As long as you go to lecture and understand the homework, you'll be fine.
One of the best Human Resources professors at UTD. He is very knowledgeable about the subject and deeply cares about his students. The class is easy. One class project, two exams, and weekly case studies. Just do the work and you will get an A.
Dr. Meda is one of my favorite professors at UTD. I am on my third class with him right now. He will always try to help you any way he can and is one of the most understanding professors I have ever had. He wants you to succeed. If you need to take Marketing or Human Resources, get into a class with him. He's retiring soon so hurry up!
Take him before he retires! He is a great professor, and more than flexible. Just don't do the smart books last minute, he will not extend the deadline which is fair because you'll have a whole month to do it. There is 3 tests and one easy opinion paper. This is an easy class and you should not stress about it just make sure you get him!
This was a pretty easy class, weekly homework's which were participation. Quizzes you had 2 attempts and were the same questions and answers both times. I had a C+ average for the exams and still got an A-. I only used the slides to study and nothing else. Opinion paper was easy asf don't sweat it. He did move deadlines around so be warned.Easy tho
My favorite professor in the first year! I love Professor Meda's way of teaching, and it was easy for me to understand the subject! He is absolute and gives good answers to questions you have. He did exam reviews before every exam, which greatly helped me. TAKE HIM FOR MKT; YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
Good professor, and the homework is McGrawHill. For the homework, PLEASE work ahead, some are very long and it takes time to finish them. Please also study the exams as well as it's closed book-closed notes.
Gave me a bad grade on the essay for no reason, mid professor, not up to the hype at all.
He is a good professor. I was close to failing his class, but his homework raised my grade very quickly. The tests are very confusing and hard, but it is a closed-book exam.
