Did not have to use the book at all, we did not even have to purchase it. While he doesn't take attendence you do need to go to get the notes(fill in blanks), and occasional in class assignments. Fairly easy test, come exactly from the notes. Highly reccommend this class! He is pretty entertaining as well!
I had him for environmental. Very easy class. You dont have to buy the book. His tests come strait from his notes. Come to class everytime, fill in the notes read them over twice before the midterms (there are four and a final) and youll get an A in the class. He comes off as a nice guy but as the semester goes on youll find he is a butthole.
If you want to learn about biology, this is about as good as it gets. He's a fun teacher (plays rock music before every class, but a lot of old stuff), puts notes on WebCT, no text (saves you money), tests straight from the notes, and go to his office anytime for help. What more could you want?? Take it.
Very easy if you go to class, great notes. I learned a lot of cool facts!
awesome class...i looked forward to coming...never knew what i was going to learn...funny guy..kept it entertaining
cool guy...very outgoing and entertaining..class was difficult..tests are pretty hard and it's just a lot of information!
Great teacher, funny guy. Keeps class interesting and fun.
Dr. Mondor is an awesome teacher! But his test are very difficult. He does not use a text book and attendence is not mandatory, however he does give bonus if you go. If you study you should do fine.
Great teacher. Attendance is not mandatory but he only uses notes from in class on the test. He even tells you on the first day not to buy the book b/c he does not use it. Very easy if you just go to class and pay attention.
Overall this is a good teacher some of his test do not reflect the material well you have to read between the lines with his notes. If you review the notes on a daily basis you will do fine in the class. He comes off as being a jerk but is willing to help you if you go to his office
I had him for Insects and People last summer and LOVED his class. He teaches off powerpoints mainly, so that's all you have to study. Just don't skip class, I did once and made a C on an exam from missing that one day. He's really nice and really funny, I highly recommend him.
Best teacher ever. He makes the class very interesting even if you didn't have any prior interest. I would recommend him to anyone. All tests come straight off of powerpoint slides that he provides. No textbook required.
This is THE BEST biology teacher I've ever taken. Even if you don't like bugs or biology, you'll learn a lot. He'll get you into liking them, I promise! There's no textbook. You don't take a whole lot of notes. You don't have to come to class but he doesn't put all of the notes online so it's helpful if you do.
I agree his class is very interesting but his tests are difficult. The tests cover a lot of information he is very rude. Interesting course but would not recommend.
Dr. Mondor is a good teacher. He knows his stuff, and he's always cracking jokes to keep class interesting. There's hardly any grades besides the tests, so make sure you study, but the tests really are straight from the notes so study and you will be fine. I definitely recommend him.
Great Professor who really knows his stuff. He is very funny and plays music before class starts to get everyone in a good mood. His test are not hard if you take good notes. He also does not require the use of a textbook. Overall, a great professor.
This was by far my favorite class of the semester! If you're looking for an easy A though, I wouldn't recommend him. He is VERY interested in what he teaches and knows his stuff. Attendance isn't mandatory but the test are hard if you don't study a lot and have all the notes. Overall I loved this class and learned a lot of interesting things and ma
Dr. Mondor was a great professor. He's interested in what he teaches and makes class interesting. You dont use the book but its important to go to class and get the notes. the test come straight from the power points. i would definitely take his class!!
Dr. Mondor's Insects and People class was by far my favorite class I have ever taken, and probably will continue to be. His tests are hard if you don't take notes and study, b/c it's random info about insects that no one normally knows. I got an A easily, but I also made flashcards for every lecture. There is no textbook. He's very funny as well!
Very great teacher!! You must work for your grade, but the test are verbatim his notes if you know them front to back. I learned a lot of neat things and still use my knowledge of insects to impress my friends!
Mondor is the best! His profession is insectology and he's really smart and passionate about what he does/teaches. I learned so much in his class. Attendance isnt mandatory but a lot of his questions on tests come from stuff that he says in class nd doesnt put in notes so attendance is encouraged. He has a lot of wierd pet peves but he is awesome!
Mondor was a great professor. He gives powerpoint handouts online & all u do is come to class & fill them in. They were a few easy in class assignments & the tests were almost straight from the notes. Pay close attention to EVERYTHING he says in class and you should do fine! Also, do NOT use your cell phone in class. He takes points off your grade!
Mondor is one of the best professors at GSU, hands down. I learned sooo much in his class. My friends make fun of me because i know so much about random facts that he told me. But, the class is pretty easy and you'll learn a lot. He's kinda corny sometimes, but he's really laid back & cool. If you skim through the notes, you should get AT LEAST a B
Dr. Mondor is one of my favorite professors at GSU. The tests come straight from the powerpoints, except for a few questions that are discussed during class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is recommended. He loves insects and is very passionate about his teaching. Lastly, don't use your phone or fall asleep during class!
He is understanding if you have any problems and come to him about them. He's funny and his notes are fill-in the blank, so you need to come to class. Some sections of the notes come straight from the book, but if you don't go to class you'll miss out. I recommend him. :)
Mr. Mondor was a great teacher. But I will say that if you are not good with science and all that, this is probably not your best class to take. I studied really hard for the tests and still managed to fail them. But he does have projects and assignements to help your grade out. Overall I had a good experience in this class. Very interesting!!
Dr. Mondor's insect class is very interesting! One of my favorites. He is very intelligent and makes the subject matter fun to learn. I learned a lot from taking this course...and I usually hate bio! Go to class and pay attention...it's that simple. Recommend.
Print the outlines and just fill in the blanks. Class is not mandatory but he tells you information that is not on the outlines. I am an average student and would look over my notes once and made A's and B's on the test, made an A in the class. Does do random in class assignments. Don't be late or text in class though!
I would recommend Mondor to anybody. Its an easy class. You dont even need the textbook. Just go to class and take the notes. Mondor is funny so he always keeps the class interesting.
I personally didnt like Mondor as a teacher. He seemed nice the first week of classes but became very irratable soon after. Test were very tricky but after class he was a big help. Going to class and studying the notes alone wont get you an A. I wouldnt recommend taking Mondor for enviornmental biology.
This professor was nice, he had a zero tolerance policy for cell phones and he never had a problem embarrassing you in class haha..his tests come right from his slides and the book was never used..the tests were not hard as long as you actually studied the slides..his notes are fill ins so you have to go to class to get them
Mondor is awesome!!! There is no homework, and the tests come straight from the powerpoints and lectures. Just take good notes on the slides as he teaches and you will do great on the tests. No homework, and only a few easy in-class assignments. He keeps everything super interesting.
This was my favorite teacher and i enjoyed his class so much. I had no interest going in but loved it when i left. He is an incredible teacher
He knows how to keep you interested in the material even through some of the boring parts! Overall a great teacher!
Had him at 8am but funny guy so he kept me awake. He enjoys what he teaches and tries to make biology interesting. Study power points for tests.Tests are kinda hard mainly made B's.
Took him in summer, interesting class--I actually enjoyed it and I'm not usually a science guy. He gives random easyt quizes and in class assignments so you have to go to class. I would take him again. Tests were off the powerpoints. I made an easy B--could of had an A, but I was a little lazy.
He is an awesome teacher. Strict about cell phones but attendance is not mandatory. Tests are a little difficult, you must study ALL of the notes. I would recommend him and would take him again if I have another opportunity!
I had him for environmental bio and he was AMAZING! Early class but go as much as you can and take notes and you will do great. Funny/nice and kept class interesting so early in the morning! Loved him wish he taught general bio...
Great professor. Very funny and down to earth about real scientific topics. Gave us information on a need to know basis. Things you really need and think about in life. Test are a bit hard but comes easy with studying. Attendance not required but missing class means missing notes, so GO to class.
Dr.Mondor is a great professor. His test are hard but not impossible. Although attendance is not mandatory, he expects you to write down everything from lecture and everything that he says during lecture. Everything he says and lectures on, and everything from the book is fair game for the test. I had him at 8am but he keeps lecture interesting.
He is one of the greatest professors I have ever taken. He always makes his classes interesting and he tries to incorporate videos into the lecture. The tests are hard but as long as you go to class and participate you can get an A or B. He expects a lot out of you but he will help you out if you ask.
Mondor is great! He's a little nerdy, but he tries his hardest to make class interesting. His notes go right along with his tests, so if you study your notes you're good to go. Notes are fill in the blank, so very simple, easy to understand. He's a little controlling and tries to control the classroom setting too often. I would recommend, though.
I am currently taking Mondor for Environmental Bio and I love it. The class is super easy especially if you go to class everyday and take notes (all fill-in the blank). I personally found the test to be easy, my lowest grade was an 86 and all I did was read through the notes a few times. I highly recommend taking this class!
He is an awesome professor, I loved my class with him. He does expect a lot from you, so go load up on notecards before taking his class. His class is tough but if you go to class and take notes, which are fill in the black, and study, there is no reason not to get an A.
For an 8 am class this was my favorite one yet. He tries to make the lectures interesting and after the first couple of classes you actually start to enjoy it. His tests were fairly easy...I should've tried a little more though and the assignments although they're boring they help with your overall grade in the end. Oh! and don't skip class!
Mr. Mondor was a great teacher and during his office hours he lets you review what you missed on the test- even write down the answersquestion, etc.
His lectures are interesting and he is very comical. He has very strict times for turning in assignments. He also is a stickler for being on time. Attendance isn't mandatory but you will need to be there in order to pass. His tests are easy if you know what to study for, however he fills you up with so much info, that's nearly impossible.
Mondor is the best professor I've ever had. almost made me wanna change my major to bio. He's always there to talk to you no matter what your issue is, personal and school related. He keeps lectures interesting and very clear. You have to go to class to get the notes and the tests are straight from those. He's professor of the year too
Dr. Mondor is amazing! Go to class, fill in the lecture slides, and take extra notes on things he says that aren't on the slides. He is hilarious and makes an 8 AM really enjoyable. He almost made me want to change my major to Biology. He's passionate about what he does, and his tests are easy as long as you go to class. He's just a cool guy!
Mondor is great. Very clear, right from day 1. We had 4 projects, three of which were just less than one page write ups. Gives you a schedule in the syllabus, follows it very well. MUST STUDY! his tests are SUPER easy if you know the material, but there is a lot to memorize. Everything comes straight from the lectures.
Mondor is a great professor. I have him as an 8 AM and I am always interested in the lecture. He makes the lecture interesting and is awkwardly funny. The test are very easy as long as you study the material and make sure you go to class. This class is an easy A.
Excellent professor. Easy powerpoint note taking! As long as you study the notes in addition to things he discusses in class you will ace each test. 4 tests and 1 final. Simple tests as long as you study multiple choice 50 questions. 5 take home video quizzes. He has a funny but also serious personality. Entertaining, will call you out for texting.
Fun class to be in. All you need to know for tests are in class, just print PowerPoint slides and attend every class. No book needed. Do well on tests and it will be an A. Remember every detail of the PowerPoint slides for tests, as it covers the smallest little detail. Application based questions and very few word for word questions on test.
Favorite class I have ever taken. He is very knowledgeable about what he is teaching. This class could have easily been boring, but he made it very interesting. Attendance is not mandatory. HOWEVER. He pays attention to who comes to class. If you come to class and take good notes, AND STUDY, you'll pass. Lots of opportunities for extra credit.
Dr. Mondor is probably the funniest professor on campus. Think of Bill Ne and you've got Dr. Mondor. NO textbook, just print out the lecture slides and fill in during class. Took him for summer A and would take him again. Had a lot of funny stories, but pay attention to them- they're sometimes alluded to on the tests.
There is so much information, but if you print out the powerpoints and write down what he says, the tests are verbatum to the slides. Made a high 90 on almosts all the tests, even the final.
Go to his office hours. He is super helpful one on one. DO NOT SKIP CLASS. Print the notes, always.
The tests were super hard after long hours of studying. He tends to make smart remarks and call people out if they disrupt the class or come in late. This class doesn't require a textbook, but all of his tests come from the fill in the blank lectures.
Dr. Mondor is VERY entertaining and likeable. He kept my attention easily and the tests weren't hard if you come to class. Hes a really good teacher the only hard part for me was memorizing the statistics he put in the notes. No text so you must go to class. Having a friend for when you miss is smart bc you miss a ton of material, even if its 1 day
Dr. Mondor was hilarious, but very strict with grades and classwork. Do not miss deadlines because he doesn't take any excuse. Write EVERYTHING down during lecture even his silly stories. Exams are straight from lecture, so do not skip. He made me really enjoy an 8AM with his character and love for biology. He offers extra credit so take advantage!
All of the lectures were fill in the blank PowerPoins that you were expected to print out, which wasn't very helpful for me. Every class tons of material was covered so missing one class was critical. I found myself studying the lectures for hours and still finding the tests VERY difficult.
Good teacher and interesting lectures, but he will test you on absolutely anything that he says or shows you in class. As long as you memorize everything you should be okay
I took his Envirom. Bio class over the summer. Ironically, he wants you to print out all of his PowerPoint slides to take notes by filling in the blanks, which ends up beings a small forest. You have to go to class to pass, and write down everything he says. If study that though, you should be fine. I never made below a 90 on a test.
He doesn't require a textbook! Everything you need to know for tests comes from his lectures and he provides fill in the blank notes for you to follow along with in class. But you have to go to class to get the answers to the notes. There are also a few assignments and videos outside of class that are really just for participation points. Loved him
Dr. Mondor is an awesome professor! I had him for an 8am lecture and his personality kept me awake. He does fill in the blank lectures and you cannot miss class or you will miss the material. Pay attention to his random facts that he says during lecture they will be on the test. Overall great professor.
Great guy, did a great job of keeping the lectures interesting. Check folio daily because he does not always remind you of assignments that are due in the next lecture. Make sure you print off all the lecture notes beforehand and get them all bound together because if he finishes one section he will move onto the next immediately.
I loved professor Mondor! It was an 8am lecture but it made it interesting so I didnt mind. Easy tests, just make sure you come to class because a lot of what he says in class is on the tests!
Took his class as an 8am. He definitely knows what he's talking about but can be a little strict. Make sure you stay off your phone or he will call you out. His tests are mainly off of lecture notes so pay attention to everything he says, even the little details.
I took his Environmental Bio lecture and loved it. He tries to make it somewhat interesting. I emailed him a few times during the semester and he replied within an hour or two. I definitely recommend him.
Just show up and take notes. Make sure you write down everything he says, study, and you'll be fine. The tests are straight from the lectures. The class wasn't mandatory, but he does do a few in class assignment that he doesn't tell you about beforehand. Also, video quiz answers are on quizlet :)
One of the BEST professors I have ever had. Mondor has made me consider changing my major.. He does not require a textbook! Just print the slides and take notes, but dont just copy whats on the board only. WRITE everything, down to his stories. His tests come directly from notes. Took this summer and it was amazing! I learned sooo much!
Prof. Mondor was amazing!!!!!! He was funny even though hes an 8 am class. in order to pas YOU MUST GO TO CLASSSSS!!!!! He gives assignements at the end of class and when its due ITS DUE!!!!!! Overall knowledgable and funny.
Make sure you go to every class. There are in class assignments he doesn't tell you about. Also, he gives you fill in the blank notes, but write down more than that because his tests are straight from the notes and he asks very specific questions about something he said. All in all, an interesting class and he is a very good lecturer.
Dr. Mondor is truly amazing! His lectures are really good and funny, and I wish I had him in more classes. His tests aren't the easiest, you'll have to study and write down pretty much anything he says during lectures. No homework, but there's easy in-class assignments. I really feel like I learned so much from this class and it's actually useful.
He is an amazing professor! He gives amazing lectures with printable notes to follow along with and is very funny. His tests are not hard if you put in the effort to study well for them, which you should do because his other assignments are scarce to come by.
TAKE HIM!!!! I had him last semester at 8am and I loved it! He made class interesting. He gives you printable notes that you fill in and his tests are basically the notes. Go to class because he sometimes gives pop quizzes that are easy and you can work with the person next to you. He is so funny too!
Excellent professor, lectures are fill in the blank and very clear. In class quizzes are extremely simple. 4 50 question tests.
Took him for an 8am lecture. Hes very funny, BUT if he says something, he means it. When he says homework is due at 8am, he means its due at 7:59am & if he doesnt have it when the clock turns 8, he wont accept it!!! He is a great professor and gives lots of extra credit. Do go to class! he tells stories and questions you about them on tests.
Mondor's personality really makes an 8 am lecture enjoyable. However, his tests aren't the easiest. He asks questions about literally anything that comes out of his mouth, not just the key concepts in the chapters. Also, he doesn't take attendance, but he gives random quizzes so you have to always be in class or you'll miss one.
You have got to go to class to pass. Also, make sure that you write down everything that he says. I had Dr. Mondor at 8 in the morning, and I am not a morning person. But his lectures are very interesting. He shows really good videos during his lectures as well. I would take him again.
I would not recommend taking him during the pandemic. Talks a lot about irrelevant things during the lectures, which were via zoom. If you have no choice but to take him I recommend not missing any class. Exams were really hard, even when I studied all the material weeks in advance
This is literally the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I DO NOT RECOMMEND TAKING THIS PROFESSOR! His tests are extremely hard. The only material you get is 15 packets of notes that have 30-40 slides each. I understand it is not supposed to be easy, but he is just over the top. I have always been an A student, I scored a D in this class.
Dr. Mondor had a lot of difficulties transitioning to online lectures. He often times went off on unrelated tangents that would end up on the test. Tests were very difficult since you had no idea what was important. He does not offer any study guides or tips. He did give extra credit for going to the lectures. He graded homework toughly
I thought that this was relatively easy class. All of the material comes from the lectures, but he gives you powerpoints with fill in blanks to take notes. He does ask some questions on the tests that werent in the notes, so you do have to take some extra notes on your own. Hw was easy and the tests were all multiple choice and easy if you study.
Dr. Mondor really knows his stuff and he is the best resource to get the most out of this course. Everything he says in class can be a possible exam question, so be sure to show up to every class if you want to do well! The hardest part of his exams are the applied questions. Everything else can be memorized, but be sure to understand the material.
Great Class!
Professor Mondor really cares about all the details, but its a forensic biology course so it makes sense. The lectures were fun and lab was creative. The subject matter can be dark but the tone of the class is not.
Tests are hard. He doesn't post his notes on folio so if you miss class you have to get the notes from a friend and some of the questions he puts on the test are from videos shown in class. His tests ask very minuscule questions so you have to remember EVERYTHING he says during lecture. HW is easy and he offers some extra credit but not a lot
Dr. Mondor is a really great prof. he genuinely enjoys what he is teaching, cracks jokes in class, and makes it interesting. He doesn't post his lecture notes so going to class or getting them from classmates is very important. The test is moderately difficult if you really study and go over material you will do great. Overall great class and prof.
Amazing professor. His lectures were very funny and lively. The tests were usually 100 questions based on the lecture and homework assignments entirely. It was a lot of memorization. Do not underestimate the exams because they were specific. Very understanding professor. Little passive-aggressive comments there and there but would take him again.
Great Professor, show up to class and pay attention to the lecture, and you will pass.
He's a good professor overall. He can be sarcastic but mostly nice. Attendance is not mandatory, but go. He does fill in the blank notes and does not post the key. Tests are hard. He asks questions that are not in the notes, but said out loud, so take good notes! Could be hard @times, but learned a lot overall.
Dr. Mondor is an AMAZING professor. 100 question exams, they are VERY detailed and include fun facts he says in class. DONT WAIT TILL THE LAST MIN TO STUDY. He is super sweet and makes class enjoyable. I wish I could take him every semester. He truly cares about this class, and his students.
Overall, he is an excellent teacher who really knows what he is talking about. However, the tests were hard, the highest I ever made was an 80 and class average for each test were in the 60s. Make sure you take in class notes, like what he says that you think could be important. Overall, I learned a lot of interesting facts.
Genuinely loved Mondor's class! Have to go to every class in order to pass, but he was funny and kept lectures interesting! Mondor just might be my favorite prof I've had at GSU! 10000/10 would recommend!
If you don't want to go to class, don't take. Can only get notes in class. Test are very detailed related to the lecture. Can get off topic by talking about dance moms??? Overall, you get maybe 10 grades all semester. Kind of rude when in class sometimes. 10/10 would recommend someone else... not him.
Mondor is one of the best professors I have ever had. He is hilarious, easy to reach out of class and his lectures are never boring. His tests are about the specific material covered in class, so take great notes and study before the test! If you've never studied before: study! It's a ton of material. Best part of my week!
Professor Mondor is super funny, caring, and knows what he is talking about. But this class is too hard.Attendance isn't mandatory, but you can only get lecture notes from class; the tests are completely made up of those lecture notes, so don't skip class. Study early and write down everything that he says, even stuff you may think is not important
Professor Mondor is engaging and knows his stuff. Attend class, take detailed notes, and use resources like the free textbook and unstuck AI to prepare. Tests are challenging but doable if you put in the work. A solid class overall.
Dr. Mondor is a wonderful and hilarious professor; don't let the first day or week scare you off. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it is the only way to get notes. The material is extensive but not difficult if you study and pay attention. Exams are not just MC, so you have to know the material. Labs are super fun. Overall, I enjoyed the class.
Crazy reviewing a class I dropped, but this professor really is great. You HAVE to study, you can't cram. Be on time. He is not one to hand out extra credit. He is a great professor and more than willing to work with you but you must reach out. He is very reasonable, easy to talk to and very cool! Talk to him about his work! :) Study=good grade
