Moreno is great. Really energetic, loves history. He's not that easy, but if you listen, and take good notes, you'll love the class.
He is very enthusiastic about the material, crystal clear about what he's going to test on and always makes it very easy to get help if needed. You must prepare A LOT to succeed in his class, but he's always available to assist you!
Great teacher. Really cares about students even after they have completed the class. Makes it easy to get an A if you just study!!
He is a very good teacher. Always very excited and helpful. You must prepare a lot, but if you make the effort and do the preparation, you will get an A or B.
He is a really really really handsom guy
As Mr.Moreno says on the first day that he only wants serious students only, who's willing to work hard. And if you do work hard, you will be rewarded with a grade in the class. Basically there are no homeworks, except for the exam preparations. He's pretty good.
Dr. Moreno really is very enthusiastic about history. he gives study sheets before exams so you know exactly what to write about. the exams were quite easy; if you study regularly for the class and show up everyday, you should definitely get an A. It's all on the study sheet.
This guy stincks
I have a good short term memory so, after prepping the essay and defn, I just studied the night before (sometimes morning of) and still got A's on every single test. hes really cool, he helps you out on ur essay outline or defn. make sho you get the prep done and take decent notes and ull get a/b.
take any class you need with him. he actually cares about his students and is extremely knowledgable on the subject matter.
Mr. Moreno is a nice guy. He is very passionate about history. He speaks really fast. The exams are easy cause he gives you the questions beforehand. You just have to memorize.
Best teacher I've ever had! He challenges you, but is very interesting at the same time. He's always very enthusiatic, and seems to love teaching. He's also one of the most organized proffesors I've had, and you always know what to expect on his tests, so if you study, you get A's. *A+ Teacher!*
Like other reviews said, he's pretty easy as long as you study what he tells you to study for. There are no surprises to his exams because he tells you EXACTLY what to study for 2 weeks ahead of time. He's a really good teacher!
This class is an easy A. Just do what he says. he gives you a study guide 2 weeks before thge exam. If you spend some time studying it is easy to get 100% on all his exams
Awesome professor. Very enthusiastic and nice. If you put in the effort, you will get a good grade. He's very clear and very helpful. He wants dedicated students in his class, and he makes sure everyone does well. Explains everything that will be on the test in class, no suprises. Take him for all your history classes.
Mr. Moreno is great. I've taken him twice. I never opened the book. I just re-read his notes. He gives ID's for quizes, and you memorize them. Write two sentences, and get an A. Then you write a tiny essay (which he gives all of the topics before hand)...he's simple. Go to class, take notes on what he says, and get an A. He wants to see u succeed!
Pretty easy class, if you prepare for the test. He gives you all the info for the test 2 weeks beforehand, and all you have to do is memorize. He knows his stuff and enjoys teaching. Overall good experience.
I took him last semester, I got a B on the first exam and a D on the second one. But finally, I end up with a A. He is a very nice person who with sense of humor, and he is very understanding.
Really good and knows his stuff and made the class very interesting and not boring compared to other history ones
Very good made the class very interesting
this guy knows his**** and keeps you interested in his class. if you have a recorder use one it makes the class easier than it already is. no surprises and he follows the syllabus.
Great teacher great class actually made history fun
He is a very clear speaker, and his lectures are easy to follow and take notes to. I feel that maybe he could get into more detail of the content he teaches, it's kind of bare bones, in my opinion.
He is so amazing
THIS MAN will make you love history he turns the old boring past in to a fun present you do have to take a lot of notes and study your notes, but thats it ! attendance is a must
very intelligent teacher
really good teacher very enthusastic!
Take his class. Great teacher who taught me real history
at first i thought he was hard, but if talkin to him it was helpful and his tests were easy 'cuzz he gave out the ans. in class and he made the ans for the test very clearely
you will learn a lot in his class. if you want to kick back and get an easy A, then DONT take the class, but if you really want to learn about history, then he is awesome.
the teacher is clearly very intelegent, you have three four tests (identifications and essays one 3) he says you need dates but you dont, he says you have to read but listening in class is more then enough. the class is dry but historically very interesting. i enjoyed the material but not the class, the teacher is not personable but knowledgable
this guy is a joke. dont take this class. he treats it like your taking history as a major. he expects you to pay attention to the boring crap he teaches. he likes to see you suffer. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASSSSSSS!
For a person not very inturested in history I felt that his classes made it more of an inturesting subject. The format of the class is very easy to follow but requires commitment in order to do well. The only negitive thing I would have to say is that his lectures reqire a lot of writing.
Great teacher, he has that IT factor. Seems to enjoy teaching and great at conveying his information.
great teacher! highly recommanded! he is interesting and helpful. his test are real easy! if u've prepared for the study guide, u will be fine!
Moreno is a chill guy. You should take advantage of his "Email your stuff to him" policy. If you study your terms (2 sentences each) you'll be fine and pre-write your essay. He's a good guy!! He's not the Hardest teacher on the block!
He knows the material well. Grade is based on 4 tests. Tests are fairly easy if you memorize key terms. I suggest flashcards-MAJOR help. The only thing is that the classes can be somewhat dull. I got an A though! i will probably take him again.
he is hot..but after you take his class you look at him with more admiration and less drool. I liked his class and seeing how excited he got about this information it made it all more enjoyable. I totally recomend him

Make you read the book alot at fast pace, explaining the material with only words at a fast pace, he calls it "a discussion", but he does all the talking...LOL Grading only based on 5 testest, make jokes that are not funny...
babbles to no end. talks like a minute man. lectures don't clarify material. offers little to no help outside of class. each test grills you on details, not concepts. no room for improvement. teaching method focuses gramatical technicalities, not history. teaches assuming history is your major
Only three tests all semester, each worht 55 pts (?) with no other work. Each test is 15 identifications, write-in answers, and then three page essay answer. Pretty tough tests, 1/2 the class dropped by midterm. No other way to make up or get points, so 165 pts total! I like history, but he makes it tough to learn because grading is so hard. I wou
his tests make you regurgitate material from the book like an encyclopedia. takes your ability to write contantly, make eye contact with him, and posture into account. gets annoyed if you interupt with clarifying questions.
I enjoyed the class. Mr. Moreno is a good teacher, you can tell he enjoys teaching and is REALLY into history. I am happy I took his class.
he knows his stuff but spits it out like an auctioneer. projects an arrogant attitude that makes you feel inferior; discourgaes with his nose held up high more than encourages. suprise items of EVERY test. be precise and exact or look forward to failing.
he's good in the summer semester because it's only 6 weeks. you should take him in the summer, study his notes and don't miss class you'll get 100%. his tests are only hard if you didn't take notes. Every question is taken from his lectures. i had a little crush on him too...
i have a feeling some of these ratings were left by the same disgruntled student, as the sentence structure is similar... if you go to class and take good notes you'll get an A. All test questions come from lecture.
Quiz every 3 chapters. take notes, read books, do the study guide and practice the essay questions and you'll do fine. most of the time i didnt even read the textbook and just did the study guide and got an A in the class. his test/quiz are basically memorization. real easy if u studied or listened in class. extra credit on final.
Although some students may have personal qualms about having to study, show up to class and even worse, take interest in a subject which is not related to their major; Mr. Moreno is an excellent teacher. His lectures are very dense because History did not happen in one day. The book is a must if you want an 'A'. I took 17A and 17B and received 'A's.
first of all, a very respectful man. His lectures are clear and he gives lots of information. Paying attention is what he requires but also the learning attitude students are supposed to have. He talks fast but his manner is nice. Exams are not difficult if you pay attention to his lectures and prepare well. A really respectful professor!
Goes too fast during lectures. Grades only on four exams. Each exam consists of an essay and what he calls identification and significance. If you like to memorize and like OCD types then this class is for you.
Lectures too fast, grades only on exams, exams are essay identification, each exam is 3 chapters and always lectures on last chapter one class before test. Claims to want class to "think critically about history, but exams induce cramming for memorization then forgetting. Unless you have a good memory and like OCD types do not take his class.
The Best History teacher.ever.
cool!!!!!!!
You will appreciate the level of energy Prof. Moreno brings to the classroom. Establish yourself as a serious student on the first test and you may find he grades you with more leniency later in the semester. You’ll learn some fun stuff, but a lot of it is flash card knowledge so it’s hard to retain it after the final. A pretty good class.
Easiest GE class ever. Took it in the summer and got an A with zero effort. Just show up everyday, write what he writes on the board, define all of the given terms he gives you and at least have an idea of what to write and expand on for the essay part of the test. I don't even know why I wasted 40$ on the book when I never read it.
Mr. Moreno is a great teacher. If you are interested in transferring to a UC take, him. He does talk fast but believe me it is nothing compared to what you will be getting into. He really knows everything about his subject and the tests are really straight forward.
took him in summer of 06, dunno why i'm rating him now, haha. but umm, i enjoyed taking his class, he made u.s. history fun and interesting. he knows his stuff, if i remember correctly he's a historian. i didn't open the book and passed with a B. i think it was generous of him because it was graded based on 3 exams and i had failed the first exam.
He graded really hard my first test but got easier on my next tests. There isnt any mandatory homework, but when the tests come around and you need to crack down. I thought it was a cool class that took some dedication but know that about half of my class dropped by the midterm.
Made history interesting, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic to teach his students. Just take good notes and he does take attendance everyday so come to class and you will be fine! Also, easy on the eyes =)
Moreno is clearly a knowledgeable and passionate teacher, but his grading system which only gives you credit for tests, and NOTHING else (attendance/homework?) makes getting an A very hard if you're taking more than 12 units per sem. For tests (3 of them) he basically gives you a blank sheet of paper, and makes you regurgitate all the material with
It was very interesting class, and teacher is awesome.
He is a very good teacher. his grading system is a bit tough, but you should do well if you really pay attention to his lectures and complete your ID's.
Mr. Moreno is one of my favorite professors at CCSF. I came into his class loving US History and left loving it more. He explains everything clearly and tells us stories about presidents and other funny things related to the material. I highly recommend Mr. Moreno.
This teacher demands way to much for a intro to History class. Mind you he wants you to memorize 30 Identifcations and Significants. Also he gives an essay and you get 2 topics but he won't tell you which he will pick. For those who have had Hisptry of course its smooth but for those who do not have knowledge then your screwed I dropped it because
I've taken history courses from him twice, and plan to once more before I leave CCSF. He's extremely knowledgeable and if you miss a test, he doesn't seem to mind letting you take it during his office hour (if you email him about it first of course.) He's usually pretty caffeinated, sohetalksfast.
Absolutely horrible teacher! He talks too fast while lecturing, and gets annoyed by questions. Grades on tests only. And the grading on tests are completely anal! I was a straight A student until I took his class. He expects perfection on test, or else you fail. I HATE him!
Mr Moreno is awesome!
he's an interesting character who is passionate about teaching history. He talks fast. He knows a lot and expects you to listen to his lectures. Lectures and attendance is essential into passing the class with taking good notes. your grade ultimately depends on exams. He wants you to pour all the info you've retained. If you focus, it's easy. =)
i love this man! straightforward and awesome...i highly recommend him!
Not only does he know his subject, he really cares about helping everyone else in the class along. You know the essay questions and IDs ahead of time. You have plenty of time to prepare and memorize them. If you get them done before hand he'll go over it with you in case you missed something. Easy "A" if you take notes in class.
he helped me realize that i want to become a history major.
Mr. Moreno is a good looking guy, who knows a lot about history. He goes very fast and it is hard to process knowledge, he teaches you like you are in high school. During his lecture one time he saw me passing a note to a friend and he stopped and said stop passing notes its distracting(diva). His tests are hard especially the final the 2in1.
Mr. Moreno is very educated, loves the subject and can explain all this material. It wasn't exactly an easy class, but if you do readings and understand all the IDs he give prior the exam, you'll be fine. I enjoyed his class a lot, highly recommended!
Hard very hard, you have to memorize 30 words he gives you for his tests and write inclass essays. He gives you alot of time to study which gives you time to procrastinate. you have to be on it, so no multiple choice whichmeans no easy A. to pass you have to write the words over and over, you really dont need the book just go to wikipedia.org 4 info
He know his things from his head. If you just pay attention, and take good notes, you can get an A. Of course, he give 30 identify, and a essay to write for test. Just do the research on that 30 identify, memorize it and use what he said in class to write the test essays. you just briefly read the book or if you want A++ read the whole.
Don't be scared by the bad reviews! His tests are pretty straight forward, but they're not MC, so you need to do some actual studying and show up to class for lectures. he wants you to be detailed on the tests, but it's not that difficult. i've bsed a few I.D.s and still got points, so he's that anal on it
Moreno is one of the best professors I've ever had during my entire time in college. His lectures are informative and well-structured, the entire history course makes you a well-rounded person. He is NOT difficult! Just do the assignments you gives and you will be fine!
This professor is actually reachable through email. Willing to lend a helping hand through office or email 24/7. Exam material is covered 100% by the book. He literally gives you 90% of the answers from his one sheet of study guide(only if you have read the book. The rest is a test about what you know. A class that's fully based on memorization.
I would not really consider this class hard but it requires A LOT of work. He does not give any hw so grades are based on tests alone and the tests require memorizing 30 IDS and writing an essay and are given on two different days. But he is extremely helpful and will answer any questions uhav. It is really upto the student to do well in this class
I would not really consider this class hard but it requires A LOT of work. He does not give any hw so grades are based on tests alone and 2 tests are given every few chapters on two different days. But he is extremely helpful and will answer any questions uhav. It is really upto the student to do well in this class.
Grade is based entirely on exams. He provides two essay topics and a study sheet with thirty terms before each exam. Ten of those terms will be on the exam, as well as five surprise terms and one of the essay topics. He is clearly enthusiastic about history and encourages students to think critically. I learned a lot in his class.
overall i thought he was a good teacher but he spoke wayyy to fast for my brain to process and put it on paper..... but i probably would of gotten an a instead of a c if i didnt have classmates who either asked stupid questions that didnt relate to the topic that he was talking about or they would just talk about something else all together
very nice and intelligent professor :) loved his class!! he teach history like he was telling his personal stories~ every exam was based on the study guide he provide. very willing to help you reviewing on the study guide too! really really recommand this teacher!!!! ^^
Good teacher. Seems to actually enjoy teaching, which is always nice. His tests are based exactly on the guide he provides for you.
Prof. Moreno makes the class interesting, but if you want an easy A, this class is not for you as you would really have to study to do well in this class.
Very informed and his lectures are interesting. He makes lots of connections between different eras of history. Straightforward class. Take notes and read, he'll give you the terms for the test, you study them and take the test. If you need history classes, i recommend this class.
Moreno is one of the best history prof. at CCSF. He is smarter than he is cute and that is saying a lot! His lectures are interesting and clear. You have to read the text to do well on the exams but there are only 4 exams that are half essay and half identifying terms. I took him for HIST 4B and I will take him again for HIST 1 next semester.
Moreno is wonderful! I enjoyed his class immensely. He's very knowledgeable and the exams are very clear. If you follow his advice and study properly the class isn't very difficult. He's brilliant, funny, and very nice.
it's too hard...too much work~~don't take him if you wannat get an A. I fully prepared for the exam but what I need to write is too much so end up with not enough time to finish the exam~!!!! and only MAYBE have extra credit for the final exam, it's unfair!!!! so frustrated!!!
Mr. Moreno is one of the best teachers I ever had. He's very knowgeable and a very nice man too. He knows every single life detail about every single man in this world!!! He's amazing!!! FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU RECORD THE LECTURE BECAUSE HE TALKS FAST WHICH MAKES YOU MISS SOME IMPORTANT NOTES...Mr. Moreno has my respect..
What a good teacher !!! For foreign students just record the lecture and relisten to the recording after class to take the missing notes.. When you do so you won't need to read the long chapters in the book which saves you time..every thing in exams are from the lecture so no need to read the book...EXCELLENT NICE TEACHER !!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...
He talks so fast that most students are unable to understand or have a moment to take in anything he says. I used to be interested in history until I took this course. It is painful and a bore to sit through his class.
This teacher obviously know his stuff since his lectures are at full speed.. think going 120 mph on the freeway. It got me to really paid attention and i actually learn more from him than any of my history teachers combined. His exams are not as hard if you really paid attention, take notes and really study.
He is a horrible teacher. He talks way too fast for anyone to actually have a second to take interest in anything he has to say. Maybe he should work as an auctioneer instead.
Best teacher at this school. Very professional and very easy to get along with and understand. I remember he was always clear, helpful, and the most knowledgable teacher I had. If you listen to him and show a reasonable amount of interest and do your work, you will do well. This school has a huge amount of lame teachers, not him he is a class act.
moreno is very knowledgeable and you will definently learn a lot from his class! he talks fast and keeps his students interested. he is a great teacher and really wants the class the learn. your grades are based on your tests, and you WILL need to study for tests, but most of the material will be given. he is cute!!!
Best teacher ever. Moreno knows his material in history, extreme clarity in class, and willing to help on exams (they're pretty tough though). Overall excellent teacher and one of the best teachers I had at this school.
he is a great teacher. he makes the class interesting and knows what hes talking about. also he gives hard exams i think hes a great teacher and you will learn a lot from him.
Professor Moreno is a very good and thorough History teacher. Plus he is organized in everything from lecture to how he grades. He is very fair, as long as you show up for class. take notes, do your reading; an A is likely and B is guaranteed.
no homework, no in class work, little in class discussion. he lectures but his lectures are direct and well prepared. He really enjoys the subjects he teaches. Grading is based on 4 tests, 3 worth 55 pts each, one worth 30 pts, total 195. 30 pts per test on 15 short answers/identification, 25 pts per test for an essay. 30 pt test has no essay
This class is perfect for the self motivated student. Moreno gives you everything you need to succeed, and the rest is up to you! He treats students like adults. No homework, just reading. Grade is based on 3 exams, which are essay and short answer format.
Best professor ever! Pay attention in class and work on his study guides! He's very willing to answer any questions that you have- including current events. Very friendly all the time and kind to students. Highly recommended! Take him!
This is the second time that I've taken Mr Moreno, and I've got to say he's one of my favorite professors ever. He's really clear and direct, but also caring and supportive. Great guy!
He was one of the worst teachers I've ever had. The grade is based only on 3 tests which are long and impossible. Basically, u need to memorize the entire book and lectures to pass them. I get A's in every other class I have but I had to drop this one.And he was rude when I asked for advice when I was worried about the test.Don't take this teacher!
I have had him twice! And prior to him i had another history teacher which i had to drop because she was just all over the place. Mr. Moreno's class is clear and it is only based on 3 test which are super easy! no homework, no in-class anything, this is absolutely one of the best teachers that i have ever had. Wish there were more like him!
Awesome awesome awesome teacher! Best teacher that I have had so far in college, no doubt about that! Class is easy, grade is based on 3 test which are really simple. No homework, no in class work which is great. Take him! You will not regret it. I've taken him 3 times, always turns out great! He realy is a great teacher.
Really good professor passed his class with ease. Had a D on the first exam but eventually I got through the class and ended up with a B. I recommend students to take his class, only take his class if your planning on studying. Or it'll be tough.
GREAT professor! Lectures are very interesting and detailed. He's very friendly and kind to everyone. Very organized and willing to help if you have any questions at all. He is one of the greatest professors i have ever had. Highly highly recommended!! Take him and you won't regret it. You can't and won't dislike his class! Seriously!
He is great. if you want to get a good grade, remember always ask him by e-mails. He will always nicely respond your e-mails. He is nicest guy I have seen at CCSF.I love his teaching even though I am not good at English.
No homework. Tests are comprised of identifications and one essay question. Everything on the tests come straight from lectures. If you take good notes and study them diligently, you will get an A. Take him!
I LOVE MR.MORENO!!!!! AND I LOVE HISTORY. TAKE HIS CLASS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
Terrible. He expects way too much out of the tests. The identification portion is ridiculous in terms of grading. I would answer the significance in a paragraph, but he would still only give half points. Nothing is ever good enough even though I answered completely correct of the significance during that time period. Seriously, F this guy.
in defense of professor moreno, he tells every student the first part of the test requires BOTH parts. it's college, by no means is he asking for too much. anyways, professor moreno is a great professor, very thorough with presented material. lectures are detailed and in dept. however, not many notes posted on the chalkboard
Mr. Moreno is a really good teacher. He teaches really well, and he is very clear. Everything from the lecture will be on the test and some people are claiming hes hard. He really isn't. Just study the study guide he provides you and you will get an A easily. After you take his class, you will start acting more like college student and not an idiot
He explains very well. If you pay attention in class and take notes your good for the tests. His tests arent hard since he gives you a study guide but its ALOT of memorizing !
Who would not want to hear a boring history lesson...taught by a good looking teacher...who happens to go by Mr Moreno...!!! Besides his face and last name I remember he was a very good teacher who got me interested in History!!! Good and interesting lectures and gives you hints on what will be on the tests!!! Sat in the front to pay attention ;)!
Easy. Peasy. never even opened my textbook and got an A
dude's a cool teacher. Kept in touch outside of the classroom. Took 17B my first semester, and im about to take history 5-100. Cool dude, but you really shouldnt fail the class. Just study and take notes. He gives a good test outline.
wasn't a hard class, no homework tests only.. alot of memorizing but only about 4 tests in the semester. only thing bad are the surprise questions he loves so much. i liked his class overall
He is a good teacher and grades only based on exams. He hands out the guidelines a couple weeks before an exam with all the material on it and if you take your time to study, you will do fine.
Mr. Moreno is a great professor! His passion for history makes his lectures engaging and interesting. Grading is based on 4 exams - entirely from the book and his lectures. Reading and studying is essential in this course. He is very accessible through email and will give you feedback on your test prep. I would definitely recommend him!
Good Teacher. Takes Attendance Daily. I did not need book, but did take notes in class and prepared (as per his "method") via google searches. Very proficient and good teacher. Easy B, very attainable A. Pay attention to dates on the tests. Would recommend to all.
I fell in love with Mr.Moreno and history after taking his class.
Great teacher. The class is fascinating because Mr. Moreno knows what he's talking about. He's really serious. His summer class was amazing even the attendance was mandatory. I LOVE Mr. Moreno !
The less humane professor I ever had. He is rude and arrogant. I like History but taught by such a mean individual took the enjoyment away. Do not take any of his classes.
Great teacher. Not sure what that one person below me was talking about, but he is very nice. I am definitely considering taking another class of his. There is no homework. No in-class work. No group assignments. Just a very good lecture and an easy test and in-class essay every three chapters cleared from the book. Awesome teacher.
Long lectures that will cover only the most important topics. Test it's all about MEMORIZING a thousand items and vomiting them on the paper. Take it if you know some american history already, and if you get along with memorizing information instead of discussing it. Mr Moreno is nice and helpful, but I don't get people thinking he's hot -.-
You can tell he's pretty passionate about teaching history. Loves to lecture for a long time, but it's interesting! Be prepared to write much more than what he puts on the board. Grade is based on 4 exams, each consisting of 15 ids. 3 exams have an in-class essay (which he outlines for you in class!)
Great teacher.. Enjoyed every second of the class. Great teacher, great guy, and even greater knowledge of U.S. history.. In my opinion, one of the best teachers at City College. Mr. Moreno is the man!!
Best history teacher ever!!! just follow his instruction and pay attention in class. If you don't sleep in class, you dont even need a text book. I didn't and i got an A. His test is easy too. As long as you remember the name of the history stuff and then write its significant with a 3 page essay that detailed the question he ask. You will get an e
Excellent professor who wants to see his students succeed and gives them the tools to do so. He will look at your work before the tests to see if you are on track with the ID/SS. Take him!
5 out of 5 stars! Professor Moreno knows his stuff. He lectures in a detailed and thoroughly engaging way. He uses his presence and responsiveness as a speaker, entertaining anecdotes about the material, and willingness to take questions about the material to make for an excellent learning environment. This class rocked.
I learned so much from his class, more than I thought I would. If you pay attention in class and study your notes, you should pass.
Mr. Moreno is a very good instructor. He's been teaching these courses here for more than 20 years now so he knows what to do. Discussions are amazing in his class, and he has a really good attitude. very straight forward as far as clarity.
Mr Moreno is really excellent! Take him! He is helpful, humorous. Exams are easy. Easy A! But, you have to prepare well for the exams. You can easily have great grades and actually learn a lot form his class. Strongly recommend!!!
I took his class at the recommendation of my wife, who is a History major. I'm glad I had her advice, because Moreno is now one of my favorite teachers! His lectures are fun and interesting, he had a wide array of historical knowledge, and often encourages the class to get involved with their opinions. Grade is based on 4 Exams with ID's and Essays
Mr. Moreno is a great great great teacher, he is smart and very witty and it is these things that make him sooo cute!!! lol He explains material to the T, so only reason you would fall behind in this class is because you weren't simply PAYING ATTENTION. Mr. Moreno is friendly but doesn't take highschool goofing around, so come into his class ready!
Professor Moreno is a great instructor. Lectures were sometimes a bit boring, but all the material was there, crystal clear. Grade is based on 4 total exams (including a final) consisting of ID's and an essay portion. The exams are easy if you take good notes, and prepare for them. I hardly used the textbook.
Easy class, very easy to follow, test are based on ID's and vocabs. Strict on cheating policy (someone got caught and deserved it.lol). Very helpful outside the class and not very linear with grading policy. If you mistaken a vocab with another, (you get half of the point) and if you are close to an A (1-2points away), you will get an A. TAKE HIM!!
he has full blown conversations with students in the middle of a test that we only have 40 minutes to take. He's rude and inconsiderate. Grades hard because theres only fifteen item on a test worth two points each...you get docked a point if you know what something is, but can't recall the date, also puts surprise items on test!
Great Teacher! You take a lot of notes so be prepared, no hw just exams. I learned that I love history because oh his class. Exams are straight from lectures. Very intelligent teacher, highly recommend him.
Great teacher, very easy class if you follow instructions and make flashcards for the ID exams
very interesting way of teaching made me more exited to attend his class.10/10
Mr. Moreno is an awesome techer to take class with, he is full of energy and very knowledgeable person. Very interesting class, never missed one single lecture, easy greades and very helpful. I am definately recomending his class. A++ teacher, love it.
Very nice tescher that I have Summer school at ccsf, suggest him for you.
Wonderful teacher. His class mainly depends on tests. He is very clear and his study guides are very much like the test so study them and make flash cards and you will have an A. He is also very nice and helpful
Loves Athletes, really cares about his students, goes into depth with the lecture. Tests are pretty easy you just have to give full definitions and essays should be at least three pages on tests. Super sweet!
Moreno is a great professor, and just a great guy to talk to. He knows his stuff on history, and then a lot of other stuff that is also fun to know. I enjoyed this class and his presence.
Took Moreno this semester. Was very excited to take his class because I like history. Unfortunately he missed out in a lot of classes because he was sick and having personal problems but he did his best. He's a fair grader and gives students chances to retake his exams. Really sweet, positive, and cares about his students.
Very enthusiastic to teach, always answers questions thoroughly. No homework, just read the book and know your material. 4 tests total, he gives you 30 vocab, and asks you 15 randomly out of the list. Then he gives you two possible essay topics, one which he chooses for you to write during the test. Be accurate and specific, you will do well.
Mr. Moreno is fantastic and so passionate about his job.. he's really one of a kind as a person. He's incredibly sweet and he motivates you to learn the material and do well. He tells you exactly what you need to know, answers all questions, and even gives you an exact study guide weeks before the test. Professor Moreno is just outstanding. 10/10
Mr. Moreno is a good guy, and he wants you to do well. However, he is consistently late (10 to 20 minutes) to every class, and he misses a lot of material that he wants to test you on. It can be very frustrating. It isn't necessarily a hard class; he basically tells you what he wants on the exams. Just take really good notes and go to every class.
Shows up late to class a lot. Gets sidetracked all the time. Didn't go into details on certain topics. Grade is based on tests. Didn't feel like I learned much or got what I needed out of the class. You don't really need to show up, just go for the study guide and test days.
I'd have to agree with the 2 users below. I took him for 3 classes and Moreno is a good guy but he is almost always late, when he's not, he wastes almost 20 minutes talking about sports or something like that. If you take good notes, you don't even need the book. 2 of my finals were take home.
FANTASTIC Professor!! Highly recommend him. I have never thought I would ever enjoy learning about history until I had his class. Yes, he does get side tracked but he's a really sweet person who tries to engage with students. Incredibly helpful and test are very very easy if you attend his class. Very engaging and fun lectures! LOVE HIM!
WORST history class ever. If you want a grade and don't want a challenge, then yes this is a class you should take. If you want to learn something, just don't. Always late, doesn't respond to emails, does nothing but waste your time socializing. I didn't spend all this money on a text book only to literally never use it. just use wikipedia.
He is late to class all the time and likes to go off topic sometimes but he's a funny guy and he's really chill. I actually learned a lot from him. The tests are pretty easy if you do the study guides. The only complaint I have is him talking to students during the tests. It can be quite distracting. I would totally take him again though if I could
will pretty much give you a study guide that will truly help you prepare for tests. tests are in written format with no scantron in sight. good guy teaching what he loves.
one of the best history professors at city college, absolutely loved his class.
Read no more and take Moreno. I enjoyed attending class 3x a week. It's like you sit there and listen to interesting stories of European history. You will walk out so much more knowledgeable at the end. Attendance is absolutely important because he's sharp and will know if you're there or not. Visit his office if you can. He's a great guy.
You have to try and fail his class to not pass. Mr. Moreno is one of the best professors here at CCSF! I enjoyed his lectures; how he related the events from the past to how it affects us in today's time. Would recommend him to anybody!
Overall, he is a good teacher, putting work in his lectures. The guy has a real passion for history. But other than that he is a real tough grader if you don't learn to understand his criteria for his test. Me and my friend got the same grades on the test, but i was the only one who got an F on the midterm. I showed up to class everyday.
If you have learn the American history when you are in middle school, then this class is not a big problem. But as a ESL student, I really don't recommend. He is a good teacher, but it's not easy A. I have my job and as a full time student, I felt very exhausted to handle his exam. In this class, you will have three mid-terms and one final, tough.
Made history fun and interesting!!
Professor Moreno is the best history teacher I have ever had. He made the lecture interesting and fun. The tests and exams are really important ; however if you go to class, take notes and have good preparation, you will get an A. I highly recommend him.
Really good lecturer. Tests are tough. My recommendation would be to take good class notes, read the chapters, and most importantly prepare for exams as soon as he gives you the information for each exam.
Not an easy class but a great lecturer! I learned a lot from him and his classes were super interesting. The exams are hard to prepare for but if you like to learn and want to expand your knowledge Moreno is your professor! (textbook is not necessary at all).
Good teacher and better person. Lectures are long but are important to passing class. Must attend class to pass
Professor Moreno is the best teacher in all my school career. He made me change my major to history and I took 3 of his classes. Pretty clear. Gives out a study guide which you should study right away and you will do good. I've always looked forward to going to his lectures. No book necessary and don't skip class because he will know. Take him!
Professor Moreno is a wonderful history teacher! Absolutely the best I have had at City College! He deeply enjoys history and gives lectures in a clear way that make it interesting and easier to remember. Reading and attendance are necessary to do well on the tests.
He is the master of History! He is clearly passionate about History and knows every little detail. He loves teaching it and this makes going to class worth it. He is super kind, helpful and clear. I took HIST 1 for GE purposes but I definitely enjoyed the material and the way he presented it! Exams can be tough, but show up and take good notes!
I really enjoyed his class. He is very enthusiastic and really knows what he is talking about. I've never seen a professor enjoy teaching as much as him, it's probably why I looked forward to his class. If you have the opportunity, register for his class.
Moreno is the best history teacher you could ever have. I never liked history, but by taking his class, he made history more interesting and broke down events so that they were easier to understand. Tests are similar to AP history formats of knowing identifications and writing an essay. If you can, TAKE HIM!
Moreno is a really great teacher. He lectures about the topics in class and gives you a list of identifications for each exam. If you memorize the identifications and then use it to help write your essay, you will get an A. He is very knowledgable about the subject and he shows a passion for teaching.
The best history teacher I had in my life!
I got his class last semester loud and very clear about history it wan't boring at all. Good explain about history. Test is tough it was about explaining each word(Ex. History-.... it was significant...)some word I wasn't sure about so there I got B grade. Need really good taking note and you won't fail it.
Moreno is an amazing history teacher. He makes lectures interesting and many interesting stories related to the topic. His criteria is clear. Make sure to go to class take good notes and you'll be fine. He really cares about his students if you don't pass you didn't do enough.
Edward Moreno is good history teacher. Although this is a prerequisite, its taught as an undergrad class. The test are very demanding. He gives you 30 events in history, which he picks 10 of the 30 for the test with 5 surprises as well as an essay portion. I have friends that go to state who have taken easier history courses than this.
Moreno is one of the best teachers in CCSF. Lectures are long but are amazing. You can go w/out reading the book, and pass w/lecture notes. The tests are tough but he gives you WEEKS in advance to study and are easy if you know the material. He is very entertaining and makes History fun. I will continue to take History classes w/him in the future.
I would love to take him again if I needed to! His lectures are fun and easily understandable. He gives you a study guide list of names or events to remember. Just study from your notes and probably google some more facts (just in case), then you will get an easy A. Just know the main facts (not a lot)and dates. Just spend 3-5 hr to study per test
Great lectures, study many days before the test, nice guy
He is nice and cares about his students. Grade was ONLY based on three exams. 15 IDs and 1 essay each. If you are slow on writing, avoid his class because 1.5 hr test has an essay part accounting for THREE pages length. I worked very hard but still just got a B. This is the only B i have ever got, not even English 1A and 1B(Both A in that).
Most of the students got A and B in this class at summer session.
He is the best teacher I've seen, I really learn something from his class. Tests are really straight-forward, and he will help you prepare. Highly recommend!
Took him a few semesters back, definitely one of CCSFs better professors. Makes history fun, and amusing. Would definitely recommend him!
Absolutely amazing lectures
He is really resourceful and caring. If you are a hard working student in terms of reading , it will be an easy class for you. Grading is not harsh as long as you answer the main points.
Never thought History can be so interesting and fun to learn that I actually took two semesters with Professor Moreno. He is intelligent, charismatic, and passionate about his lectures. He is very sweet and helpful, cannot recommend him enough. Just show up to class and take good notes and you will sure pass with an A. Love him!!
Moreno is one of the best professors at CCSF. His lectures are engaging and easy to understand. Moreno is by far the most clear professor I have ever had, making his expectations clear. He cares about his students. He is truly one of the best professors I have ever had! If my schedule will allow it, I will take him again.
My all time favorite professor in CCSF. He is very smart, intelligent and knowledgeable about history. Make sure read the book. Pay attention to his incredible lecture and taking good notes are MUST to succeed his class. He will be never absent throughout the semester. VERY PROFESSIONAL!! Love him!!!
Mr. Moreno is amazing- extremely knowledgable and passionate, super clear lectures, always happy to answer questions about the material, and very clear expectations. His class is not an easy A however- reading and studying outside of class is crucial. Great professor, highly recommended.
Mr. Moreno is great teacher. You can tell he truly cares about the subject matter and enthusiastic about teaching students about history. Also a really cool dude. Your grade is based on 3 exams which are not very difficult but take a lot of preparation. I took his class in the summer and I wish I would've taken it in a regular semester .
This teacher is good for students who are fresh out of high-school but Prob not best for working adults. The delivery is very lecture heavy. Instructor adds a lot of unnecessary information in lectures & Talks continuously which Doesn't allow much room for participation. Class rules&preferences feels very Elementary. Also did not respond emails.
Mr. Moreno is extremely passionate about teaching History. He truly cares about the subject and is willing to help outside of class for exam preparations or questions. Unfortunately, Mr. Moreno expects a lot out of you for the exams with unnecessary guidelines. Expect to be studying just as much as your calc or chem classes.
heres how his class goes down; he gives ua study guide with 30 identifications that he'll talk about through out the weeks leading up to the exam and u have to give thorough responses on each one (15 on the exam, 10 from the list, 5 surprise items) and give each a signification. Audio record for an A
An amazing professor who is an expert in an array of topics. Although his lectures are really long, they never get boring and are always interesting. He's a pretty fair grader. You just need to focus and really work for it. Only 4 tests. Third test has an extra credit opportunity. Attendence is very important. Always email him if you need any help.
CCSF is Lucky because Mr. Moreno works there. The Best Professor ever. If you enrolled his class, you will not regret it. Make sure to study hard. You will get A. He is very fair grader.
Mr Moreno really knows his history. Every class consists of lectures which he manages somehow to always make interesting! Take a lot of notes on what he says in class and STUDY because he expects you to and you will need to if you want to pass the 4 tests he gives which consist of giving definitions to topics he chose, no notes allowed.
I absolutely loved taking his class. He is very passionate about the subject and really cares about how well you do in class. He doesn't give homework, the grade is based strictly on tests. The tests are hard all about memorization but he makes it easy to stay engaged and want to learn. 10/10 recommend.
Prof. Moreno was an engaging lecturer who's passion for the material is engrossing. What was needed to pass class was clearly laid out and aide was offered after test to improve study habits for a better grade by end of session. Highly motivated by his students success and teaches with purpose. I recommend taking one of his courses
Brilliant historian. Like someone else said, I wish I took him in a full length semester not summer. His passion for the subject matter made me fine with being in a windowless classroom four days a week in the middle of summer. The exam centric grading forces you to really know the material, in a good way. Take him, you won't regret it
Inspiring during lessons. Always available to help. Helps you to get ready for tests. If you follow the lecture you won't need to use the textbook. Very good teacher.
This professor is a gem, a real gem that is hard to find especially in a community college. He is not only a brilliant historian, but also a true teacher. I learned so much about US history after the civil war this semester. So engaging and inspiring. I will follow his classes in the future.
Mr. Moreno is GREAT! He is very clear about what he expects from his students and how to be successful. If you show up, listen to what he says, and take notes, you will get an A.
Professor Moreno is one of the best history teachers I've had in all 14 years of public schooling. His enthusiasm during the lecture makes time in class fly by. His story telling really paints a picture in your head which helps make history a lot more interesting and he is very dedicated to helping his students succeed.
Moreno is a solid professor. His lectures contain a lot of material so you need to take a lot of notes. He writes them on the board in an un-orderly fashion so listen more than watch. He grades his tests very hard, so be specific and exaggerate your answer. Overall, he's entertaining in class and cares a lot about the subject. (goes on tangents)
Moreno is one teacher who can really get me to pay attention in class and can engage me into the material. He's very clear on the curriculum and will clearly state what's going to be on the test. He makes it easy to understand the history and will refer it to present day with enthusiasm. He's very respectable but will not always reply to emails.
Take Ed's classes. He's one of the best history teachers I've ever had. It's a very straightforward class. You have three quizzes and three papers that are in-class. Just learn the material and you can get an A no problem.
Mr. Moreno is an excellent professor. He is without a doubt the best lecturer I've had in my several years at CCSF. I've taken almost every history class this guy has to offer and it's a blast every single time. Take good notes, make flash cards for his exams, and you should do quite well.
I hated history throughout my 13 years of grade school. Taking Mr. Moreno made me change my mind. Lectures mostly felt like story time. I thought I was gonna fail this class due to only short answer exams and essay questions but since it's an interesting class, you should always have an answer to write. He also gives partial points. Great class.
Professor Moreno is one of the best history teachers I have ever had. Everything I already knew about history had been disjointed, and Professor Moreno gave what I already knew a linear and cohesive perspective. He may treat his students like high schoolers, but most of them are just newly high school graduates. He is an excellent teacher.
Moreno is a wonderful history professor. The way he explains events is super clear and all-encompassing. The class is graded only by 3-4 exams (you get study guides!) and his tests are only short answer/5 paragraph essay format--I feel that's too much to expect, but if you just pay attention in lecture and take good notes, you'll get an B/A easily.
Grade based on 3 exams and attendance. The more detail in your answers, the better. Lectures are useful and filled with lots of useful information. Take thorough notes, not just what he writes on the board, but also what he says. If possible, ask if you can record lectures. He is easy to talk to as long as he sees you putting in the effort!
Grades based on 3 exams and a final as well as attendance. I've always been able to get A's without studying but I was landing in the high C's until I actually started studying for the exams. Expects respect in the classroom and is strict on attendance. He's easy to work with as long as you put in the effort and respect.
Professor Moreno's class was great because he always sought to give a different perspective on the subject. His grading is based on 4 exams, but he gives you all the information you need to know, and all the assistance necessary. Just study and you'll pass the exams. Also, very straightforward. He's also very organized and respectful.
Mr. Moreno's class was interesting and insightful, however if you're taking this to fulfill a GE requirement his class isn't worth your time. Though he provides a study guide, he only uses 10 out of the 30 questions from the guide on the test and includes 5 "surprise items". Unless you follow exactly his writing instructions, you won't do so well.
Mr. Moreno is actually a great professor. His class isn't even that hard, it just depends on you. Seriously, he always tells people before an exam to email him practice responses. If they don't look good, he'll tell you what you need to do to get an A, and pretty much as long as you show up to class and look interested you will pass.
Honestly wouldn't have gotten an A if I didn't email him my practice answers for exams. He gives you advice and lets you know exactly what he expects. No homework, but it is crucial to do study guides. Come to class, pay attention, and take good notes and you'll pass! He's definitely knowledgeable
This class is tough if you can't memorize and the surprise terms he puts on the test can throw your grade off. He wants very detailed answers. He's a great teacher but this class isn't an easy A.
I took his summer session so everything went by pretty fast. What fascinates me is that the structure of the entire class is so neat and well arranged. Tests are composed of two parts- identifying terms and short essays. Easy A if you put time and effort into the study guides that he gives you!
Absolutely recommend taking Moreno for any history class that he offers.
yYou will never go wrong if you choose Professor Moreno's class. I don't want to say the subject is easy or hard. It depends on how you study. Here, three main things.. Come to class regularly, take a note, focus on lecture. you will be fine. Professor Moreno is really Gem for CCSF. He is way much Better than university professor. Believe me.
Professor Moreno is extremely knowledgeable about his subject. We have 4 tests which include a short essay or identifications where you respond with a short answer about its significance. You gain a lot of knowledge and he's not boring. I would say his class is easy in comparison to other history classes. He does want consistent attendance though.
Professor Moreno is awesome! His lectures are clear, concise, and interesting. He has a unique sense of humor that makes the lectures more intriguing. He clearly explains how to get an A in his class. If you take good notes in class and rewrite your test responses, you can get an A. Also, you can send your responses to him and he will give feedback
Professor Moreno is a knowledgeable instructor. There is no homework or assignments for his HIST1 class. Exams are in-class short essay questions and essay papers for at least 3 pages/5 paragraphs. If you wanna get an easy A for a GE course or do not feel comfortable with in-class writing, this may not be the best choice for you.
Great professor, took 3 of his classes and did well on all of them. The textbook is not required but it does help. Your grade is based on 4 exams he gives, also gives a study guide on what's gonna be on the exam.
I would go to class everyday bc its the best way I learn but I realized he goes through everything very thoroughly in class so didn't need textbook. He gives a list of terms and follows it, just a few that are in the book. Can easily find online and some written portions for tests. He's very dedicated, knowledgable, and straight forward.
You can really tell he loves what he's teaching. He can be strict at times but only cause he actually cares about his students succeeding. I really enjoyed his lectures, but you'll still need to read the book. His exams are about a 70/30 split between material from lectures and material from the book. Best to focus more on the essay portion.
Moreno is a fantastic professor with clear interest and passion for both the material and the students he teaches. He doesn't assign busy work of any kind and the tests are focused on material understanding and not memorization of dates (although it helps to know them). He is one of my favorite Profs at CCSF
Amazing professor! No homework but STUDY. Buy the book. Read the book. He records and posts ZOOM lessons (no-nonsense and gives you all you need for the exams). The exams are also very straightforward and you have 2 weeks to submit them for the day they're posted. They're two-part exams with an essay + identification. (Fall 2020, COVID-19)
There's a reason Moreno is the top-rated professor. He is sharp and his positive energy is contagious. He's the CCSF historian btw. His feedback is great, his lectures are top-notch & structured VERY well. Come to class, take notes, & study by combining your notes with the study guides, this is the key. Speak up in class it's worth it!
Prof Moreno is such a lovely and encouraging person. You can tell he loves his job and cares about student success. I appreciate how measured his lectures are; unlike some other CCSF teachers he doesn't shove his views down your throat but encourages critical thinking. Manageable amount of work and the textbook helps a lot. Taking him again!
Professor Moreno was an awesome professor and his lectures showed how much he knew about the subject. He made the online class not feel stressful with big due date as we had 3 grades which were the Exams every month and a half. He was a very lenient grader and as long as you understood the significance and followed his instructions you'll get an A.
Took him online and the class is made up of three essay exams. He alerts you 2-3 weeks ahead of the due date giving you plenty of time to start. Follow the rubric and don't skimp on the details to show a thorough understanding of the material and you're ensured an A. His lectures were extremely helpful and shows how much he enjoys teaching.
Prof Moreno is a super chill teacher. His class only consists of three "exams". These exams have 2 parts to it, the first is the identification of 12 significant figures/events and the second is an essay (app. 1k words) about one of the given prompts. He warns you in advance so you have plenty of time to do it, plus have 2 extra days.
This is a review long overdue! Years ago I was stabbed and missed a significant amount of class time. Enough time that I should have been dropped or failed. Professor Moreno was willing to work with me as long as I showed up and worked hard. Went from failing to a B thanks to him.
Absolute legend. Not a lot of homework, just tests. Simply study for a hour or two and you're good to go. Prompts go up before test day and you have multiple days to complete. Just display reading comprehension, and he'll bless you with an A. Professor Moreno is the GOAT
I took asynchronous 17B and loved it. He is consistent and very organized and clearly knows his stuff really well. His lectures are super interesting and engaging. The class is extremely straightforward, not easy but not hard to earn an A if you put in the work. He clearly wants students to succeed & learn and really knows how to encourage that.
Best teacher at City College. Don't miss any of his courses. If he's teaching, sign up for the class!!!!!
Very easy professor! You only have 3 big assignments throughout the entire semester, no more, no less! He posts recorded lectures often and most of them are around 30 minutes to an hour long, but you could easily speed up the video playback by 2x to watch it faster. You also do not need to buy a textbook, though he suggests that you do.
I highly recommend Professor Moreno.
I don't have any interest in HISTORY whatsoever ever because it makes me sleepy, the subject itself is. HOWEVER PROFESSOR MORENO IS JUST AWESOME! HES THE HISTORIAN FOR CCSF. SUPER CLEAR GRADING CRITERIA, SUPER GREAT LECTURES! 3 ESSAYS AND ID/SS ARE EASY, HE'S SUPER GREAT OF REMINDERS AND I LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT U.S. HISTORY! SUPERB ALL THE WAY!
Class was interesting and easy, professor Moreno provides quick feedback and grades fast. He is also very helpful if you feel stuck. Highly recommend his class!
Only 3 exams but requires you to open every link every week. Syllabus was very verbose but not clear on what kind of online class this was. The website said we would have a meeting time but he just posted things on canvas. Same feedback every exam, almost verbatim. Overall, I guess he's fine.
I'm terrible at history, but I actually learned the most history in his class despite only lectures. His grading is only based on 3 exams which may sound very stressful, but he gives you a lot of time for it and it's not that hard if you don't procrastinate to the very last day.
Learn something by searching history things. Easy history class, but don't know face to face.
This has been the best teacher I've ever had. I'm not good at schoolwork so going back to try college has been hard but this class has been a breath of fresh air. I'm glad I was able to take this class it has taught me more because the work load was very reasonable and informative. I want to take more of his classes and major in history!
Oh look at that! A teacher who actually does their job instead of trying to pollute the class and curriculum with their political beliefs. Edward Moreno was absolutely amazing as a History professor. He is in my top three of history teachers. He got us through American history DECADE by DECADE. Didn't skip anything! Easy class and great teacher.
Professor Moreno is one of the BEST teachers at CCSF! He's extremely chill and your grade is determined by 3 exam assignments, which seems really challenging, but he gives 2 1/2 weeks to complete them. Just pace yourself through the "exam" assignments and you'll ace the class. Pay attention to his lectures because you'll need to use the info.
I could not pay attention in his class but as long as you follow the rubric for his "exam assignments" exactly (12 definitions + 1000 word essay) it's an easy A, just be fairly confident in your writing ability. He also posts his past recordings on Canvas so you can reference those for information if you miss class. Emphasizes being on time a lot.
Professor Moreno is a great lecturer and his online courses are very well organized. He provides lots of feedback if you ask for it and his grading is fair. Make sure you commit to completing each of the three exams to the best of your ability because your grade only comes from those three assignments. Lots of interesting essay topics to choose.
Not very animated but seems interested in what he teaches. Great grading rubric and understanding. Be prepared to come to class and be on time. No sleeping in class. Not super talkative but very nice and professional professor.
I took an online class History 4B by Professor Moreno and his online class is very organized and workload fits perfect for a 3 credit class. He has video lectures that he includes in every module which helps a lot because I was able to listen and understand chapters in the textbook more.
Professor Moreno has mastered the ability to provide just enough coursework to make sure you know your stuff, but not so much you feel defeated. There are no in-class assignments, he just requires that you show up and listen to him talk. This is no problem because his lectures are actually quite interesting.
Professor Moreno's lectures are well established and rehearsed, he knows what he is talking about in extensive detail and has a strong magnetic personality. He will only assign 3 assignments and there are no tests or quizes, these assignments are fairly easy just do not procrastinate. He will give you early feedback, just show him parts of the exam
If you love history, take his class. If you don't like history, you will still enjoy his class. Mr. Moreno's passion for the subject matter makes the class really fun and entertaining. He is a very respectful and kind person and isn't the type of teacher you will dread showing up to. He teaches objectively and is free from any political bias. 10/10
He's an amazing professor and easy going! Prepare to listen to his great, inspirational lectures. Class is graded on 3 exam essays. He gives you so much time to work on it and is very clear what he's looking for. He's very articulate and knowledgable and makes history interesting to learn. Show up and you'll do well!
Prof. Moreno made going to class easy. His course is based only on 3 exams, which are basically take-at-home essays. He gives lectures each day, if you listen and engage, you'll do well on the exams. (He also grades them fast) Even if you don't like history, I think you'll still be able to enjoy the class. He's passionate about what he teaches!
Amazing amazing lectures. Even if you don't love history his lectures are so interesting and intriguing that you will want to take another one of his classes. Education quality of a high-end private college institution but I'm getting it for free at City College. An absolute gem of a teacher. Couldn't recommend his class enough.
Perfect class to knock out a gen-ed requirement.
Graded from very little assignments 3 essays Come to class He talks the almost the whole class Takes attendance near the end of class. Gives the same feedback to everyone I don't think he gives full scores. Sometimes gets annoyed when students ask questions
Prof. Moreno is amazing! Could listen to him for hours and hours. Great presentation skills. Definitely learned a lot in his class.
Your grade is based only on three exam assignments, but he prepares you very well. Make sure you show up to class or he will drop you! Quickly responds to messages, and understands if you have to miss class as long as you let him know. His classes are all lectures, but he keeps them engaging and makes connections to current events.
Professor Moreno's HIST1 class is a must-take. Even if you're not a history buff, his engaging lectures and clear grading system make the course enjoyable. I found unstuckstudy AI to be a helpful study tool alongside the textbook. Attend class, participate, and you'll do well.
Mr. Moreno was an amazing professor. You could really tell he has passion for his work and knows his stuff well. His class consist of lectures with only a total of 3 assignments based off them. These assignments are your whole grade, but are fairly easy to do. It has 2 sections; describing topics in a few short sentences, and the other an essay.
