Dr. Sargis gives five exams each semester and the lowest exam grade is eliminated. The exams are multiple choice and essay questions. Dr. Sargis gives minute papers, which are worth 15% of your grade and to earn the 15%, you must show up to calss everday. He posts his lecture notes on blackboard.

The minute papers are actually only 5% of your grade. not 15%!!! And he drops one of those so you can miss and still have the 5%. He's helpful when you go see him. very nice, but women do freak him out. Over all I'd say he's a great professor and the class was not too difficult.

His notes are clear and always available throgh blackboard. If I could I'd take him again. He may be dry but he makes up for it in other ways. If you can you should take his class.

Very good professor. Although his lectures are long and boring, it's not exactly his fault. Stats with him was long. He's a nice person, but the way he teaches is sometimes not clear. He also tends to drift during his lectures, so it's easy to space out. You get credit for attending lectures and discussions, so those are a good booster. Tests, you really need to prepare well for them. A lot of conceptual questions. Overall, he's OK.

Worst psych professor I've EVER had. Lectures consist of him rambling on about completely unrelated topics (child, wife, research). Due to the rambling, lectures become an exercise in maintaining consciousness--good luck trying to take notes. I self-taught all material. Expects you to memorize all formulas. SAVE YOURSELF AND STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

I had no problem with this class. It wasn't easy but as long as you follow along with the lectures you will be fine. The homework is a clear representative of how well you're doing in the class so if you struggle with the homework, get help! Exams are concept based so just pay attention and you will do fine in the class.

DO NOT TAKE! I wish I could say something positive, but this is not a professor that seems truly passionate about teaching or students. Present at ALL lectures, not helpful. Slides are not detailed for those who may not grasp concepts readily. No book was used to refer back to if you got lost. Unapproachable, not helpful. TA was a better teacher

Lecture was boring, TA was amazing. Class is easy if you pay attention in discussion. He's one of my favorite (psychology) professors here. He gets a bad wrap because so many psychology majors are bad at math. He is a good teacher and has no problem re-explaining a concept if you ask him to, either in class or in his office hours. Ignore the person claiming there is no textbook. There is one but it's optional, so get it if you need.

343-STATS. His lectures are very conceptual. Expect to learn more about the meaning behind the calculations & not just calculations and formulas. Almost 70% of the content of the exams will ask why are you calculating for that specific formula. Homework was very helpful. Can only use pocket calculators for EXAM, no book needed. I-clickers required

I went into 343 terrified, but Sargis teaches this subject extremely well--especially for how difficult it can be. He is a great guy, a reasonable grader, and I have gotten A's on both tests and each assignment so far. Obviously you need to attend class--that's a given. He's a great teacher, and I would definitely recommend him for 343

Professor is a nice person, but the class itself was not taught well. Recycled videos made in 2020-2021 to use as his main lectures, which are not well made, and his class lectures were too short (50 min/wk) to cover all the material. You will have an extremely hard time passing class if you don't depend on outside lectures and resources to study.
