Dr. Simpson is a great professor, all around. He's a nice guy, his lectures are engaging and entertaining, and his class leaves you feeling like you've learned a lot. Plus, Dinosaurs is a super-fun class, and he's the only one who teaches it!

Doc Simpson is cool. My favorite prof at KU. His classes are easy and I did learn a lot from them even though I don't like science. He made class very fun. He is very knowledgeable, funny, and kind. Definitely take him.

dr. simpson's a really nice guy, but dinosaurs is a very boring class. only an easy A if you can stay awak for it. he's a nice prof though.

I had him at 9am and everytime i miss class i kick myself for it. I love this man he makes dinosaurs fun and interesting. He likes acting out various behaviors and brings fossils to class. Watch Jurassic park. Very funny man, take him!

Class is an Easy easy A. Attendence is not Necisary, you can get a great grade with out going. But if you do go it is helpful and it is intresting. Doc is a great guy. This class is great for the Slacker/easy A student, and also the hard working go getter

GREAT GUY! he's a lot of fun and very funny. i had him at 9 so i was usually tired. Tests are 50 questions (#50 is the hardest question ~sarcasm~) & can be hard if u dont study but movies & lechures are great. espcially when he acts like the dinos!

Think you're just going to watch Jurassic park, laugh & have a good time? Think again. Class was WAY overated. Boring, annoying, and too much detail for a 001 class. What a dissapointment.

Good guy, good professor. Doesn't take attendance, but showing up and taking notes will help. You'll have to put in some study time for the A (I knew a lot about dinos coming in, and I didn't study and got a B), but it's a good class. Not much work, good intro class. He's really a good guy.

This guy is a freaking nut, but it helps to make an extinct subject matter fun, you do have to study, but he gives you extra credit days, and if you do them all it is 20 raw points to your final average. So if you have a 60> you'll get an 80.

great professor. tests are hard. keeps it interesting always. definately recommend him for dinosaurs. upper level courses are hard. but is willing to help out all the time. hes a funny guy.

Doc Simpson is the man. This class was interesting and fun. Tests are hard if you dont study and never go to class. You watch Jurassic Park sometimes. He also gives extra credit quizzes that are an easy 5 pts a piece. Easy A or B

Doc Simpson is the greatest! He makes the class so interesting! He does go fast in lecture, though, but everything is in the book. The book is VERY short & easy reading. I love this class! One of my favorites a KU!!!! :)

Eh. Thats all i have to say about this class, I like the bones and fossil's he has, but the 6 page study sheet is annoying and his tests are hard, don't take if you dont like Geology

His lectures are so enjoyable because his sense of humor is so dry and entertaining. I actually learned a lot about dinosaurs, thought the tests are a little tough and you have to study, Simpson makes class fun:-)

Not an easy A but should be a B with any kind of effort. Great guy. he really cares about his students. Wierd sense of humor. Very informative class about Dinos. Dont really need the book most of the test is based off lecture. WHO complains about getting a review sheet for a test, teachers make them to make the test easier???

This class was super easy. I think the people that said it was hard didn't go to class. I didn't know that much about dinos going in, but I attended class. I ended up with a high A when the extra credit was factored in (he gives you plenty of it).

Take this class! I haven't had a science class this easy since middle school.

This class was the greatest! i dont know what the people below are talking about. if you have any brain you will do absolutely fine in this class! i got an easy A and the prof is crazy and hilarious. I do recommend reading the book though. if you read the chapters the tests are a breeze!!!

Dr.Simpson is great. He made dinosaurs very interesting. Attendance is not madatory but you miss something great if you skip. He has a passion for his career and his teaching. This class is an easy A if you don't skip too much.

He has a passion for rocks and all geology subjects, and he is very helpful if you ask him to explain something! Read and take notes on the text book, because they will be very helpful!!!

ok... so I now know what a dead dinosaur would look like. (he did a demonstration in front of the class.) he's really goofy and he keeps your attention. the class is a great one to take for an elective!

Doc Simpson is the****! This guy will "demonstrate" just about everything-resulting in pretty comical stuff. skipping is easy-but you miss good stuff(movies, a new demo,quiz) Take notes & read book=A+. The make up exams aren't too bad- know your dinos

If you're like me and need to be carried kicking and screaming to a required science class with a lab, I suggest taking geology with Dr. Simpson. He will lessen the pain! And you may find it rather enjoyable! He's really funny and he'll keep you laughing throughout class and lab. Trust me, it is do-able! (Textbook is required and so is attendence.)

Made the best out of an early morning summer class. Fair grader. Tests are all multiple choice, pay close attention during lecture and you will be fine.

Class is more challenging than you'd think. Attend class, take notes, read the chapters, and study the print outs, and you should be able to get a B. Doc is a great guy--he definitely does his best to keep you entertained and to make class as enjoyable as possible. Definitely a class you need to study for.

Harder than you'd think a dinosaur class would be. You have to study hard for this class in order to get a decent grade. He drops the lowest grade but it is still hard. Tests cover a lot of material, make sure you buy the book because he doesn't cover all of it in class. Nice, funny guy but he's extremely smart so his tests are hard

I loved dinosaurs! Even though it was an elective for me I enjoyed it so much! He made lectures so funny and interesting. He gave extra credit for every test and drops your lowest. I had an A before the final so I didnt even have to show up for that. It was great. He can go fast through notes but if you read the book, youll be okay.

So much fun, he makes everything so interesting and you never forget things he talks about in class. If you show up to the class and take notes you don't need the book - I never even opened mine. He drops the lowest test grade, so if you're happy with your grade you don't have to take the final. Great guy, and the class is a lot of fun. Easy A.

Very good teacher..I loved him..he made class very interesting and the time flew by..I had him for three weeks in the summer and I actually liked coming to class and learning..I would recommend him to everyone..very nice and funny and you dont need the textbook..just copy everything he writes on the board, study that for test and you will do fine.

Lectures are pointless, all he does is talk about his past excavations. Follow the textbook and utilize his study guides. This class, however, is NOT an easy A. Consider another GEL course before this one.

Great prof! Super easy to get an A, just pay attention during the lectures and make sure you go to class so you get to take the extra credit super easy pop quizzes (like insanely easy). He is hilarious and actually made me want to get up for his morning class. Super great guy; take his Dinos class if you need an easy and fun elective!!!

Aw man, Doc Simpson was super cool. He drops a test so if you do good on the first four, you can stop going to class at the end of the semester. Makes class interesting, bring the study guides to class and you'll have an easier time studying for the tests. I repeat, PRINT AND BRING THE STUDY GUIDES TO CLASS! Manageable science elective

Simpson is hilarious. Makes an early morning class interesting. Only 4 tests, he drops the lowest one; also gives lots of extra credit. Definitely worth it to take for your science elective

Professor Simpson is a great professor. Very clear on what he wants for his online classes and answers emails quickly. He is funny and makes learning about dinosaurs as fun as it can be. He knows what he is talking about, highly recommend taking him for dinosaurs.

He is very silly and loveable. The class is easy if you show up and take notes. He is a little disorganized when presenting material but I still learned a lot.

Dr. Simpson is an incredible professor who truly loves his job. He always made sure that his lectures were full of humor and pictures of his dogs(a real bonus). His class made me excited to learn more about dinosaurs, and I learned a lot without being stressed about the course.

Really funny prof. Attendance is not taken but you're gonna wanna go to class and take notes to get a good grade on his tests. You really gotta study for his tests but he gives lots of extra credit so if after the 3rd test you're average is an A, you can stop going to class and don't have to take the final because the lowest grade is dropped.

Very fun class and professor! Definitely an easy A as long as you just show up and listen. There is a little memorization required for the exams, but I could study for 30min and still get an A. He also drops the lowest exam grade at the end of the semester which can help a lot. Overall fun topic and very fun professor, highly recommend!

Doc was so sweet. I have no plans on being a paleontologist but taking his class was fun and informational. His class is an easy A, just pay attention and study the study guides he gives. Come for the GPA boost, stay for the lame dad jokes, dog sightings, and dino hat.

He is an amazing professor, if you go to class and pay attention you will pass this class with little to no problem. You definitely should take notes though because lectures cannot be posted online

Amazing class, made waking up at 9am so worth it. Sat 2nd row and had lots of fun with him. Hilarious guy, takes 5 random attendance quizzes throughout semester with questions like what color shirt he was wearing. Take notes and go to class, he drops lowest test grade. Favorite class

This was easily one of the best classes I have taken at Kutztown, especially for a 9am. He makes it fun to learn about dinosaurs and I have zero interest in them besides the Jurassic Park movies. Very lecture heavy and the notes are not posted online but the tests are easy and if you listen it is fairly easy stuff to just remember.

I took this class for the winter session, so there wasn't any lectures but it was still great class. All we needed to do was read sixteen chapters and take a quiz for each chapter that had ten multiple choice questions and a short response (1 paragraph) at the end. All the work was available at the start of the course, some chapters due earlier.

Simpson let me into the class even when it filled up already, which I appreciated him so much for that alone. The class is fairly easy, and I'm not a science person. Just read the textbook that he provides for free online, but also you can buy a physical like i did if you want. He was funny on d2l still even tho no lecture which every1 used2 praise

My class was fully online but Dr. Simpson seemed like a really nice guy from emails/d2l posts. Free online textbook so you don't have to buy anything, overall i probably would have preferred the class be in person, because i feel more like I'm learning and not just memorizing, but zero complaints with the professor himself.

I had professor Edward Simpson online for Dinosaurs. In his class you are expected to do two weekly quizzes where you must read a full chapter (a lot of pages). There are 16 chapters total. This class can be very difficult if you do not read all the chapters in full and take notes, otherwise, pretty easy class to get an A or B in. Also a fun class!

i took him online for dinos. you do have to read a lot, but the textbook is free. two chapters/quizzes due every two weeks, very easy. he seems like a really goofy man from his posts. this is a very easy class to take for a gen ed if you can get in. its more boring than you would expect dinosaurs to be, but it is painfully simple. take if you can!

Interesting class with a funny prof. Attendance is a bit tricky, but the tests are manageable if you stay engaged. ChatGPT and unstuckstudy were super helpful for studying.

Dinosaurs is a very easy class if you put in the proper effort. The textbook is free through the library, and Doc's questions are easily answered by using Ctrl+F on the textbook. I was sad to hear he is retiring, because he seemed to be a very nice man, but the class is a rather easy C1 Gen Ed!
