Edward Tall is gorgeous, but this isn't helping the class average, which is a 60%. He insists upon talking right into the podium, and will NOT use the microphone, no matter how much you beg. Couldn't hear a thing... But seriously. He's smokin'.
Tall Refuses to use the microphone in a lecture of 200 students. He mumbles and talks into the desk. He uses slides and posts all his notes online, but doesnt explain. he claims his tests are not in-depth, but they definitely are. and the questions are complicated and you get confused. he doesnt listen to his students and doesnt help when you ask.
I feel if you read the material and study hard, you'll do fine in the class. 80% of the class passed at the end of the semester. He gave a very generous curve. Attendence isn't mandatory and you'll do fine if you study the text and read the slides he posts online. I pulled an A- in the class and I rarely went to class. Do Work Son, nah mean?
The class is a hard class. If you are not up to do a lot of work, do not take this class. Make sure you go for extra help and go to the tutoring sessions (which are wonderful). He kind of seems like a lonely person since he replies and sends out e-mails really late at night.
He is VERY nice. If you ask to make an appointment with him, he will make sure your schedules can make it work. It is a hard class... All you gotta do is study! & no he doesnt seem lonely... just busy.
Honestly, I believe that he is a good and generous teacher. I was on the first of failing this class because I had a D average but he made the most SPECTACULAR curve ever and I ended up with a B- in the class! It all depends on you, you have to put your time and effort into studying the slides and reading all the chapters. He is not to blame at all
There is so much material to cover that he goes through the lecture slides pretty quickly. (Attendance has become mandatory because all the extra notes on the slides are only up for the class period.) Although he goes through everything pretty quickly, he is willing to help after class. Overall a very nice and helpful teacher and an amazing curve!
He's a really kind professor and is often concerned about whether if his students get the material or not. If you are not sure about something in his lecture notes, definitely ask him through email or after class. He's really patient whenever I asked him questions.
Tall's class was difficult but it was something that I think any nursing student should be able to handle. If you study the material (I only really studied the night before) and take notes during class you should do fine. I got an A in the class and the lab was very easy with a TA. By the way, he is gorgeous.
All questions on the test come from his powerpoints, if you study them you will do fine, if you don't then you wont do fine. Attedence becomes mandatory because he adds extra notes to the slides. Loved this class and Dr. Tall!!!!!!!!
Dr. Tall is a great professor. He is willing to help the class and individual students if they do not understand something. The material is hard, but basically you need to memorize his slides. I bought the book and never used it. Attendance is mandatory since he adds notes to his slides that will be on the test. I enjoyed his class and got a B+
Dr. Tall explains the material very well. If you don't understand it, he will be more than happy to help. Also after lecture review the notes you just took, it helps you memorize the material better. STUDY FROM THE POWERPOINT, the test question come from there. Know that material inside and out. Much luck to all of those taking him!
He's very good looking I have a hard time concentrating just because i'm always staring at him! But he's a good teacher and really helpful. He says you don't need your text book and that all his notes come from the slides but he takes some of his test questions from the book so definitely read it and try the review questions
Although many found his tests to be quite difficult, one way to surely pass/get a good grade is if you memorize and understand the slides thoroughly. Flashcards and making mnemonic devices help too. The book can be helpful if you need extra clarification.Don't slack off early in the sem otherwise it'll bit you in the end.
Of course anatomy and physiology is a hard class so you are expected to put in work in order to get a good grade He is a great teacher and is willing to help you if you need help understanding the material. if you put time into studying you will be sure to pass with an A. his tests are not that hard if you pay attention and study and attend class
Dr. Tall's lectures are very information rich. He is slightly tough, slightly, dry and slightly cute. However, his class scares me because he goes over so much information and expect you to just understand it. If you have a strong accademic background and good study habits, then take him. If you do not, then find a easier professor to take Anatomy.
Smoking hot! Great professor really describes and explains the slides well. now if only he could speak into the microphone... He mumbles a lot but if you read the slides that is where he gets the test questions from & read the book too!
Super hot, not an easy class but it's not impossible if you study hard and actually come to class and pay attention. It's a lecture so attendance isn't mandatory but it helps a lot. If you visit him in his office hours he's really helpful. Definitely my hardest class, but I'd take him again.
Dr. Tall is a great professor. He goes kind of fast sometimes & covers a lot of material in 1 lecture. I recommend printing out the slides and taking notes on them - it really helps. Attendance isn't mandatory but his tests are based on the material he covers in class not from the book. STUDY DAYS IN ADVANCE!!
Dr. Tall knows what he's talking about but he doesn't know how to teach it to others its actually kind of sad. He really awkward so be prepare to be slightly uncomfortable when speaking to him after class or office hours. The material is dense to study from the start and dont except him to curve or anything of that sort. i wouldnt take him again
I took both 1102 and 1103 because although there is alot of material in Tall's course, I like the way he teaches and began to get used to his style. Make sure you print out lecture slides and take LOTS of notes during lecture, what helps is that he writes them himself and pretty much tells you what to study. focus on lecture slides/ notes !
great professor. tests are straight forward. he doesnt take attendance often but go to class. his tests are based off his notes. i only studied the slides and passed easily. overall, i would take him again
He is not too difficult of a professor, I sometimes studied the night before and got a B on his exam... he doesn't seem to care about the grades of students too much, because when asked he takes forever to get back to you.
I took both 1102 and 1103 so that shows how much I like Tall. Very information rich course and can be challenging. Never opened my textbook though, just paid attention in lecture and TOOK LOTS OF NOTES. Tall's pretty clear about what he will test you on. Straight forward prof, fair tests w/ no tricks. go to every class, he writes notes on slides !
tall is the best teacher ever. his tests are only based off of his notes. i studied the day before and got a b on my test. it is not an easy A, but u will get the results u want if u work for them.
The class is very hard if you don't pay attention. Some of his notes are confusing because he doesn't write down explanations but if you record his lectures and transcribe notes that way you will do well. He's a very intelligent man and if you work hard you'll do well. You definitely will learn a lot from this class.
His exams are hard and you can't expect to get an A by studying a night before. He doesn't really know how to explain things clearly but he is smart. He just cant teach as well. There is a lot of material in this course and the topics are just random, they dont even connect so it gets hard.
Best Professor ever! I loved this class. You definitely have to study but he wants you to do well. if you go to him with questions he is awesome, asking in class usually is not best. Final isn't cumulative, you have to go to class and listen. if you want to do the work you can get an A.
Oh Dr. Tall, the ladies loved ya for your looks, but definitely not for your teaching skills. Given A&P is naturally a boring subject, he still could have tried harder to keep students engaged. Overall he is not the greatest professor he is an extremely boring man. You don't really need to use the book as long as you get the slides from class.
This class was extremely difficult. I went to every class and spent over a week studying for every test and did not do well. I went to Tall for extra help and went to tutoring and nothing helped. I would highly recommend not taking him because he is not clear or helpful at all.
Honestly, if you put in the work for this class, you'll do fine. Barely used the textbook. Just study and understand his slides in and out and you'll do fine on his exams. Sometimes he mumbles and is hard to understand but overall he's a pretty decent teacher. Would not recommend studying the night before for his exams, prep in advance.
His class is alright as long as you do the work. Lecture can be very boring because he has a low, monotonous voice and the notes are all PowerPoint slides. Do not miss a single lecture because he will stress which part is important. The tests are based on the PowerPoint slides and make sure to study at least a week before if you want a good grade.
although his voice may seem monotone, Dr. Tall is a great prof and will go over everything you need to know in detail. His exams are straightforward from the notes
KNOW YOUR SLIDES! He is a great professor but you really need to study. Study a week in advance. If you know your slides like you know your name, you will get the A.I guarantee it. This isnt a class you can slack off in.
As long as you go to class and take really good notes, you'll get an A. Even though he does speak in a monotone voice and has a lot of detail in his powerpoints and on his tests, he makes you study. And he's not bad to look at either :)
He's a good professor, but you HAVE to study. You pretty much need to memorize his slides and his exam questions can either be super easy or super hard. He's very helpful and is willing to help you. Be sure to do well in lab because it will boost your grade up by 2 grades. Pay attention, study, and take good notes and you will be fine.
HOT! And so nice and so helpful, I went to him for help often. Make sure you study his slides and know them like word for word. But he's a great professor I'd take him over and over I learned a lot.
He always ensures in everyone being on track. His test are a piece of cake if you study his slides. The book isn't a necessity, although it could be a good source if you need a reference. Lecture is ok as long as you pay attention to him, time will go by fast.
Exams are very challenging. I studied a lot everyday for them and I just couldn't keep up with the fast pace and material. His lectures were clear and he's extremely smart but like I said the exams were BRUTAL.
HE'S GREAT!
Tall's lectures are kind of boring, but he posts the slides online. You don't have to go to class but if you're actually going to pay attention then it's worth it. You have to study at LEAST a few days before exams. They're tough. If you study & understand the slides you'll do well on exams. I never used the text book. Got a B+.
This is not an easy class. Professor Tall is a good teacher, however, the exams contain such a wide array of material. The key to doing well is to study atleast 2 weeks before the exam and to remember everything on his power points. In class, he seems strict and boring. But he's a nice guy outside of class. Hardest class so far for me.
Don't let the rest of these comments scare you. His power points are on black board and they are well-organized. You should go to class because he adds material to them during his lectures which could be on the exam. Yes the material is hard, but go to class, actually pay attention and start studying a few weeks before exams and you'll do well!
A great professor he knows his stuff. His lectures are very good and you learn a lot from him. However his tests are hard and you need to study everyday to walk out with an A in his class
People really scared me before I took his class but I enjoyed the class very much. Make sure you study a lot for Anatomy 1 and know your stuff. You have to work for your grade, he WILL NOT just give you any extra credit or points.
Tall seems very intimidating but is kinda nice, very straighforward teacher and makes bio interesting. His bio exams are exactly his notes so record his lectures, write his notes down word for word, and MEMORIZE notes. If you memorize and understand his notes and study enough you will do well. Don't skip class ever and don't need textbook
For someone who does not excel in Biology, this class was very tough. If you are not a good test taker, you will not do well no matter how well you understand the material. He is also paranoid with people cheating.
Hes a bio professor so you should not expect an easy class, and he certainly did not make it one. Get ready to study a lot for a mediocre grade.
MEMORIZE his lecture slides verbatim, recording the lectures is not a bad idea. Tough class, but you can get an A if you study hard. but very clear on what he wants.
Dr. Tall is a great teacher. He makes the material clear. However, if you don't go to class there's no way you will do well. His tests are not memorization- you must really understand the material. My advice to anyone taking this course would be to try to LEARN the material instead of simply memorize. you'll save a lot of time and do a lot better.
Dr. Tall makes you work for a good grade. However if you attend class and take good notes and study, you will do well. Don't expect to slack off and do well in this class.
If you attend all of the lectures, pay attention, and take good notes, you will do fine in the class. His test questions can be a little tricky, but if you know your stuff, it is possible to get an A. Once I learned the style of his exams and how to correctly study, my test grades went up.
Go to class!! He has amazing powerpoints, but you have to go to class and take additional notes. He explains the materiel well, and his tests are fair game if you study! I have had him more than once, and would take him again!
Dr. Tall is a very good professor and knows how to teach the material well. Take good notes in his class and study off the powerpoints. His exams are off those slides and they are simple questions. He is not trying to trick anyone.
He knows how to teach the material VERY well and makes you learn. Deff not the easiest prof bc he gives A LOT of material but if you study/MEMORIZE the material he's not that bad. Straightforward, very nice/polite during office hours, tries to be funny. Basically start studying AT LEAST 2 weeks before an exam, not 1 week before and you'll be fine.
So I am currently in his summer course and HE IS SOOO HARD. Too much material he throws at us for a summer course and he is all over the place when he teaches its hard to keep up.
I am also in his summer course and it is so hard. He gives us a lot of information and gives it to us 2 days before an exam. If you are taking this course do not take with him. He is very hard and gives way too much information.
I have him now and his exams are extremely heavy.
Tall is by-far my favorite anatomy teacher. His lectures are clear and informational. He will re-explain things if there is confusion. The tests and homework are not difficult if you know your material. 10/10 recommend!
He gives amazing lectures, but his exams are HARD. Basically, just know the PowerPoints and start studying a week before. His tests are all multiple choice, but have a lot of "all of the above/none of the above", so you really have to know your stuff. Pro-tip, print the slides out and write notes on them during class, trust me it will get results.
He is lecture heavy & knows his stuff! But, I never used the textbook EVER! Just write on the powerpoint slides & don't just memorize the definitions of things, b/c most of his exams are synthesis questions. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE FOR EXAMS as there are only FOUR & worth alot. Btw he's lowkey funny & I sat in the front. Overall, you LEARN the most.
It's lecture heavy class and you basically have to learn everything by yourself. He does not tell you whats on the exams and the power points you give have more information in them than what is actually on the exam. the first exam was easy but from there on, it only gets harder. If you do not study DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS you will fail
He is pretty lecture heavy, but really explains the things that he teaches. It's important to study more in advance because you won't do well if you wait until the last minute. I also did not use the textbook and only wrote on the power point slides that he gave us. Make sure you know the material well and you will do fine.
You have to go to class! His power points are great and he speaks very clearly. His exams are difficult but if you study in advance you will do well. If you study and pay attention in class, you will not fail.
Dr. Tall's class was not bad at all. His lectures are very clear and everything he puts on the tests is directly from the power-points. I recommend not skipping class though because if you do you'll miss a significant amount of the material covered.
Dr. Tall made lectures interesting and gave all information needed to pass his tests. He did not use the textbook, but reading it definitely helped solidify the information he gave. He was available outside of class and definitely cared about his students. If you can take him, you should.
Great professor, doesn't explain in an overwhelming amount of detail. Will tell you slides you don't need for exams. Study for his class and you will do well.
Professor Tall isn't an awful teacher, in fact he is decent. He gives pretty good powerpoints with decent notes. Aside from this he is awful. His exams are far harder than what is on his powerpoints. It also seems as if he doesn't care for his students. Does not answer questions clearly or in a helpful way.
This professor shows a complete lack of care for his students. He gets annoyed when people ask too many questions and often just flips through slides so he can get that material onto the next exam. He does not care what things you have to do outside of class and WOULD NEVER accommodate for anyone, even during the COVID19 outbreak. He doesnt care.
Take Dr. Tall if: - You want confusing tests - You want to study weeks in advance just to barely pass the exams - You want to ruin your gpa Seriously, you will have to pay very close attention just to comprehend one sentence because he rambles A LOT. He does not care about his students AT ALL.
He talks very quietly during lecture which makes it hard to hear him. He also rambles a lot. He tends to move very quickly through slides and not answer all questions. He also was not accomodating to the different situations of students during the COVID-19 outbreak. If you take notes from the slides and what he says you'll do well on the tests.
It took me half of the semester to figure out how to properly study for his difficult exams. The key was to study the diagrams in his powerpoints, then memorize the facts afterward. I had him for Cell Biology. I went to him a lot for office hours and extra help, and he ended up bumping my grade from a B- to a B which was very nice.
A & P is a difficult class, especially when you take it online. Though if you are organized and study ahead of time you will do well in the class. You are given all the information you will be tested on but that does not make the class easy. There is a lot of content so do not procrastinate.
Amazing professor. Super reasonable and well respected. Great lectures and clear about what is on the exam. Textbook is good for supplemental studying. Only downside is that your grade is almost entirely exams. But study well and you'll be fine.
A true gem. I took him four times over the course of my undergrad and never regretted it. He loves to see you do well-our class averages were always in the 80s and he was always PROUD of us (rather than thinking "oh they're doing too well, I need to make the tests impossible now"-which some professors DEFINITELY do). I will miss him and his wisdom!
Professor Tall is an incredible professor and a nice person. Attend his lectures, write down his notes, and pay attention. Don't use his textbook, he explains and simplifies it well. Tests count for a lot so it is test heavy, so study in advance and you will do good. Take him for Cell Biology or Gen Bio 2. Put in the work, you'll do good.
Took him for gen cell bio after not having been able to take Hill. At first he was good and the first test went well but you do have to put in a lot of work. There are 4 tests. As material became more detailed, it became harder to memorize everything on his exams which were 50q. Final was 70q and we only had an hour despite class being 2 hours.
prof tall has no sympathy for his students. I have met many people who have expressed their negative experiences with him. I had a miscommunication with him last semester and asked to speak with him in person rather than through email and he literally refused to meet with me. his lectures are confusing and he rambles. exams are insane. try to avoid
not a good prof, does not respect his students. will fail you for things you can't control, like a weak internet connection. showed no leniency during the pandemic, no matter the circumstances. would not take again, and I urge you to rethink taking his class.
Professor Tall was one of the most unsympathetic professors I have ever have. His A&P exams were extremely hard with lecture averages below 70's every exam. He did not curve, nor care that his students put in the work and did not succeed. The majority of exams were solely topics that were hardly mentioned. DO NOT TAKE.
Awful Professor, whole lectures failed exams. He did not care. TAKE ANYONE ELSE!!!!
I took Professor Tall for A&P I and had a great experience. Hes such a gem. I found his lectures really interesting. He gives you real life examples to help digest the content. Exams are tough and this class is a huge commitment. But, If you give yourself about a week before each exam to prepare you will do great! I BELIEVE IN YOU!!!
Not the finest experience, averages under 70s on each test, says his lectures correlate to tests when they are far from this. Would need a week+ to prepare for each test which isn't exactly reasonable, doesn't curve, and makes test questions oddly more specific or harder than they need to be.
My advice show up to class download the power points and edit/add to them not only what he presents in class but also any extra detail he provides. Not only will that most likely be test material but regardless it helped me understand certain concepts better. Also study the mastering A&P questions! Study the ones that took 2-3 tries it'll help.
I actually really enjoyed Dr.Tall's class. His notes are easy to understand and his explanations make topics alot more clear. His tests are difficult but the Powerpoints/textbook are great for studying. He made bio 2 really interesting to learn and I enjoy going to his class. He does take forever to grade tho
Nice guy. Lectures can get monotonous but try to write down whatever notes he gives on the powerpoints. Good at explaining the content. Start studying for exams a couple days before. Only 4 exams make up your whole course grade. Exams require full understanding of systems & implications. Make sure you can apply the concepts.
Lecture heavy class: don't make the mistake of thinking just writing down what *he* writes down is enough. Write down every single word he says for notes. Study the notes monomaniacally before exams & you'll do fine. Every Gen Bio I & II section is 96% tests - just the Bio Dept. weeding out students.
Prof. Tall is a great teacher, although his class is very lecture heavy as long as you study the slide shows you will do fine on the exam. In addition to that, every example or diagram that he explains in class has a 95% chance of appearing on the exam so always take notes on everything he says even if he doesn't write it on the slides.
DONT DONT DONT take this man for BIOL3334 lecture. Very boring and Rana is easier. DO DO DO take this man for BIOL 3336 lab. His TAs' practicals are so much easier than Rana's TAs. Tall for lab and Rana for lecture is the most optimal combo.
Dr. Tall is a tricky guy to figure out. In the beginning I wasn't a fan of his and his lectures. However, once you figure him out you got it. Study the Powerpoint Slides and you should be good. He is also extremely compassionate and helped me pass my class and stay in my program. I can't thank him enough for all he's taught for me and done for me.
Great teacher, struggled at first but if you study all his PowerPoints then you should be fine!
You have to figure him out to get a higher grade which sucks, and studying all his power points can be overwhelming, but if you don't know how to study, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He's a great guy, very accommodating, and if you ask him questions, he'll break it down, but studying is needed to pass this class; no study guides will be given.
Not a bad experience for A&P 1. I had him in the fall semester and he was a good professor. Make sure to take good notes because his exams are pretty hard. More of his exams questions come from his slides so just study the slides. Overall, good experience, could've had a better grade if I took the class more seriously.
I personally didn't like him, I hated his exams and his multiple-choice options. he made his exams tricky. he mainly draws on his slides and doesn't write anything. so you have to write down everything he literally says to understand the drawing, best to record the audio.
He is not a good teacher and believes the students only want a good grade instead of wanting to learn so doesn't even bother to help TEACH his students and make them understand the topic. He is very rude and lacks empathy for his students. His tests are really hard and even if the average is a failing grade he considers that well and does not curve
He would go on tangents on things that weren't on the test. Gave 400 questions to do before each test as homework. He was fine, but just read off the slides and didn't explain much. He seemed stressed and it was palpable. Kind of boring.
Know how to take good notes. Draw what he does and copy down his verbal explanations. Achieve assignments and the textbook don't matter at all in terms of what will be on the exams. ONLY the slides and lecture. He never curved, but sometimes gave a question back which put some people over 100%. Study a week or two in advance to save your sanity.
Dr.Tall is just not a good professor at all. Like many other students say you have to figure him out. So if you don't do that in time you will fail. He doesn't curve and he will quite frankly put you down more especially if you're struggling. Pick another professor if you want to pass and not feel like you're doing a puzzle in the exams.
dr. tall was a great professor. i took him for a summer class. he gave great explanations and drew many pictures on the slides to describe what he was explaining. also went at a good speed while teaching. he also hosted review sessions virtually before exams. be prepared to work. not an easy class but will do well if you put in the work.
This Professor does not thoroughly explain the material. Upwards of 89 percent of the students failed due to his negligence in ensuring the TAs precisely conveyed the information to the students. Therefore, he is not a good professor. To add insult to injury, he tries to back up less fortunate teaching skills by insulting the students.
The best BIO professor to ever exist at Seton Hall. Study his notes and you will do fine.
JUST TAKE HIM NO QUESTIONS ASKED!1
i barley passed my A&P 1 class. he spends an hour on three slides but goes through ten slides in fifteen minutes. his tests are also much more specific than his slides/notes and he doesnt curve or offer any extra credit. i would avoid taking him.
Professor Tall's class is graded on JUST 4 EXAMS. These exams are like 50 questions each. The tests are easy if you dedicate ode hard studying on his slides. I made quizzlets on his slides and studied a week straight and would fly through his exams. DO NOT LAST MINUTE STUDY. He tries to explain further details if asked. Overall good professor.
Dr. Tall is overall a very good professor. He is straightforward and he grades based on four exams, with no cumulative final. He provides you with "fill in the blank" style powerpoint slides and fills them out as he lectures. If you study the powerpoints and write down what he says in class, you shouldn't have any issues with his exams.
There were 5 exams, the final was cumulative. The exams were not all straight forward, some of the questions were difficult or VERY specific. It is important to memorize and understand all of his slides before the exam, and also take notes on EVERYTHING he says in class. Lectures were boring, take Dr. Bitsaktsis if possible.
The way that he writes out his multiple choice exams is the WORST. He tries to trick you with the answer choices by putting things like "two of the above are correct," "answers A&C only," "answers A, B, & C only." And the answer choices may be extremely specific or one thing might be wrong about them to try to trick you. Avoid him if possible.
For cell biology he gives back 2 or 3 points in every exam. The final was cumulative but he gave 3 freebie questions that didn't hurt your score. Read the cell biology textbook to expand on his powerpoints. Very interesting class.
Dr. Tall is a great professor with interesting lectures. He gave a total of 4 exams (no curve) each worth 24% of your total grade. While his exams are pretty straightforward, you need to know almost each and every word from his notes. If you don't properly study, meaning memorize a lot of the slides and understand the concepts, exams will be hard.
He's a really good professor so attend lectures for notes and most info. Memorize everything he writes down to prepare for tests.
The entire grade is tests. The first test is easy the rest are harder. He is not approachable and does not have a personality. He will not change your grade even when you ask and he does not care to get to know any students. The entire test is the notes from his powerpoints so do not miss class.
he is very dedicated. the grades are based on 4 exams and 10% of hw. homework is very easy to get 99%, however, you really should study hard for the exams. his tests are tricky even in 1 small detail. he doesnt offer extra credits but does curve actually. overall, he is nice.
Dr. Tall has a specific teaching style, but engaging with it pays off. Memorize slides and take detailed notes - Unstuckstudy helped me prep for the exams. Tough but fair tests, just stay on top of the material.
Do not take him. He does not care if you pass or fail his class. The whole grade is exams with only 10% homework. If you fail one exam it will be hard to get your grade back up. He also got in trouble for failing too many students at one point so take that how you will. Take literally any other professor if you care about your grade.
Was not what I signed up for
How do I even start? I wouldn't wish this class on my worst enemy and during my time it was the bane of my existence. There's zero connection between the material covered in lecture and the actual exams which make it impossible to prepare for. It's a free for all out here so I'd recommend either transferring or taking this class elsewhere.
Testing method is applications based. Very difficult to get a grasp of what he is looking for. Tests feel random and confusing. Questions seem tricky, where you need to figure out the process, result, the how, the why and how it applies to any situation he may concoct. I do not recommend this professor.
He is one of the absolute worst professors I have taken. His tests are very heavily based on his lecture slides. The grades are only based off of 4 exams. The homework doesn't help so basically you are already doomed if you take him for this course. Absolutely horrible. He is not an understanding professor at all. Don't waste your time.
Dr. Tall is a really great guy and he seems passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to the content he teaches. It is very important to show up to lecture. He asks a lot of in-depth/application based questions on his exams. He also likes to include answer choices like “A & D” to trick you. Pay attention in lecture, and study far in advance!
Very easy to do well as long as u go to lecture and write what he writes. All the hate he gets is from gen bio 2 students that fail bc its a weedout class but once u get past gen bio 2, upperlevels are easy. Tall is a good lecturer and the exams are doable if you understand the material. Easy to get a high A on every exam if you memorize slides.
he's not helpful when you ask him for help outside of class. when asked questions, he spends ten minutes overexplaining the topic. his slides are messy and the text does get covered by the pictures that he adds. he also draws diagrams when it's on the next slide. his advice is dogwater too. Don't take him during the summer, it's hell on earth.
I would highly recommend not taking him! His slides are very disorganized, and they are not filled out. He spends more time drawing and writing all over the slides than teaching. For the exams, he made the choices a-e which made it difficult and confusing. Read reviews before taking the professor!
I took Dr. Tall this last semester for Gen Bio 2 and I could not recommend him enough. I did not have a good foundation in Biology prior to this class, but with him I learned so much! I recorded the lectures then wrote notes on them and made flashcards. I studied the flash cards 1 week before exam and finished the class with an A-.
Dr. Tall is a good professor. He explains everything in a good way, but ofc you have to study. Ive been getting high 90's & 80's on tests. A lot of ppl ik are doing bad but they just don't study fr, everything he covers is on the test, no surprises. Just make flashcards on the slides and you'll be good.
not that bad as long as you study + attend lectures! slides are super helpful as long as you take detailed notes on what he says, and he's good at explaining if you have any questions/confusion about anything.
