AVOID THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS! He's a grouchy person with a personality to match. Beware of his "weirdness" too.
He is okay. might pronoun ur name wrong due to the fact that he can't hear that well in one of his ears. Used dramatic example such as cutting the pig on the first day of lab instead of using plastic models, etc.(which in my case, helps a lot to hear and see real examples relating to what we are learning about)
Change your class if you can. If your in or plan to be in any science programs, this man will not teach you what you need to know. He mumbles, skips from one subject to another without making sense, and likes to talk about stories that do not pertain to the class. His tests are rediculus. He will have things on there that he'll say he covered,
Had professor adjunct at Roxborough. He was mumbly and unclear. He was deaf in one ear and never heard questions when asked. Thank God for textbooks. The lab was a joke. I thought one of those specimens was going to kill me:Ecoli, abd all sorts of other scary bacterias...
The worst Professor in this whole world, he is very disorganised, avoid him at ny cost, it doesn matter if u don get teh micro class, but donot take him, he is waste of money, when I entered his class, i felt like killin myself...
He is very unclear, disorganized and his tests are a joke! He does not use the textbook but rather these handouts with lots of misspellings and content that are difficult to understand. He does not review before an exam and when you take the exam, you're lost. Less than half the class are passing and a few have dropped already. I'm so stressed.
He is forgetful, has terrible notes and gives inacurrate information in his notes. He is very unclear about what to focus on. There is a tremendous amount of information to study and he does not give back your test or go over them. Shows favortisim among students opening mostly white student and makes inappropriate comments about race.
He is a terrible Professor! His notes are unclear; he does not anwer questions correctly and he is bias. Mr. Taylor makes racial comments in class. He does not cover material in a timely matter before the next test. Also, he collected his own evaluation sheets instead of giving them to a student to turn in.
Drop his class, that is if you aren't planning to drop your other classes. His class takes alot of studying because his tests are detailed questions and sometimes questions you've never even read about. If necessary he will fit a big chapter into a lecture and test you the next lecture class.
Dont take this class

RUN IF YOU CAN! He is the worst teacher every! You can't understand his notes. His very unfair. Just Drop his Class. It was about 20 people in my class at the beginning but At the end of the semester there were 5 Student.
very hard! impossible to understand. gives out HANDWRITTEN notes by him and most tests come from them. word of advice: if u can understand his handwritting use his notes, if not make sure you pray for a passing grade!!!
Alright, Ed is a little crazy, a little messy, and yes, he does give you hand written notes. HOWEVER, he's a good dude. He's helpful, has a genuine interest in his subject matter, truely wants you to do well, and this guy brings candy to EVERY test! The class was hard but i learned SO much and earned a B. Take him, he's real funny too!
I tried to give Taylor a chance...but I dropped this class on the third day. Why? "I asked, Do you give a review of what is on the test?" He, said. No. There is not format on what is covered in class, only his handwritten notes which are inaccurate. If you are stuck in this class, continue to ask questions. I hope it helps! Good Luck!!!!
RUN DO NOT TAKE HIM
Pro.Taylor is not the nicest, cleanest or neatest guy in the world, but he does his job well and I learned a lot from his class. His test are challenging, so if you're not up for the challenge then RUN!but if you are, then take his class you'll learn alot. I did,and I passed with a "B".
Prof. Taylor is very disorganized. He gives you notes in his writing (terrible speller) that are about 20 yrs old and are often incorrect. He does not go over any tests: you only get to see your grade for a minute. Since he does not keep track of time, he crams everything into the end of the semester. Don't say you weren't warned. RUN!
I can seriously say i wish i would have found this site before i took his class. He is extremely disorganized. He crams everything in at the last minute,he is making the class come in on "study day" to take a test. He puts material on the test that we didn't even cover! Save yourself the stress...DROP HIS CLASS, IMMEDIATELY!! What a waste!
Funny, funny guy. Has to deal with a lot of bs from community college students. tests are simple. they come straight out of the notes. if you can't get and A or B you're a complete idiot and shouldn't be in healthcare.
He desperatly needs a teaching asst; he is painfully disorganized. He's prolly been giving the same exact lectures and exams for 20 years. His handouts are misspelled and some of his info is just plain wrong. You will learn what you set out to learn in this class, but don't expect it to come from him. He's more of a yardstick. Use the book.
Its plain and simple, slackers need not attend. If you are looking for an easy ride don't take his class.
I took Taylor's class in Fall 08. 98% of what people are saying about him is true. He is extremely disorganized, don't bother asking him for help, you just become more confused. If you think you can handle it, then take his class, i did and i got a "B"
I have never seen the very bad teacher like Edward Taylor before. Do not take his class because you cannot understand everything he teaches there. If I am a dean of his department, I will fine him immediately because of the quality of CCP students.
I wonder why Edward Taylor can still be teaching at Community College of Philadelphia. I think he gave money to the dean of his department for that. He cannot be a teacher because he doesn't know educational method or how to teach an issue. He has no knowledge in this subject too because he says everything wrong and in his messy ways.
Prof. Taylor is a blast. He gives quizes worth up to 10 test points. His test come from his lecture notes, he makes mistakes, and you must know the material to do well. He is approachable and wants all to do well. If ur a nursing major you will retain the material. He gets a bad rap because he simply demands more from his students.
Prof. Taylor is completely ridiculous. He's disorganized and offers no help whatsoever. We barely used to textbook, just these stupid packets he gives out, which are no help. Don't bother taking his class unless you enjoy being frustrated EVERY class.
He's not hard--he's disorganized. Notes contain misspellings & poorly drawn diagrams. Never gives straight answers. Mispronounces words. Uses tests from 9 years ago that don't correspond with notes. The only tough thing about is class is that he CANNOT communicate effectively. He definitely shouldn't be teaching a dense subject like A&P.
Ughhh!!!! THIS GUY IS THE WORST! Yeah, he gives out 9 test worth 10 points each, but they're 9-10yrs. old! The tests are so old, that it was around when Biology was invented. He never ever uses the book. The notes are horrible. He draws pictures of cells and expect every1 2 know what they r. The guy dissects without gloves. Who does that! Yuk!
He's easy to understand. Disorganized but his notes were very useful. He gave you outlines so you will know what will be on the test and what not. He has his bad reps because he demands you to learn ahead before every classes. After all, he did mention at the beginning of the class that this class was hard and not for those who want an easy way out
I am for the most part an A student and I was still able to maintain an A in his class. If you are someone who doesn't try at all, then you will fail but then what is the point of taking a class anyway. If you put in effort just like in other classes, you'll do fine. Don't listen to all the negative comments below. He is a funny goofball.
Prof. Taylor really cares about teaching. He loves doing it and he wants his students to do well. This man gives you a detailed outline of the material to study from. All you have to do is elaborate on what he's given you. He seems like a fair prof. He just expects you to give a crap about your education.
He's unfortunately the worst professor I've ever had. He really cares about teaching, is very passionate, and wants students to succeed. That said, he's incredibly disorganized, difficult to comprehend and will teach flat-out inaccurate information. His tests contain b&w photocopies of poor-quality color printouts, and mistakes are frequent.
Professor Taylor really loves his students and cares about teaching. And he is a nice man. His notes are outdated and can be more helpful. I think he is on the older side and has a hard time teaching because of his age. But you can tell he really loves his students and wants them to succeed. He's not one of those professors that doesn't care.
The material in these classes is very challenging. I had professor Taylor for 109 and tried to take 110 with 2 other professors. I realized Taylor is the only one who can make this material memorable. I still enjoy thinking about what he said years later.
Professor Taylor is definetly disorganized and can be very hard to understand. I had his class for Bio 109 and by the end of the semester more than half the class had dropped it. I am taking bio 110 with professor McCabe who is hard but great and had made me realize how ridiculous professor Taylor's class really was. If you can don't take his class
OMG, I never thought that there was a teacher as bad as him. 100% Unorganized, handouts not good and self drawn, the labs are even worse. He dissected a pig without gloves. Professor Taylor is not recommend by me at all, if you get him DROP. He messed up on test marking things wrong on my test that he marked right on someone elses test. Not good!!
DO NOT listen to these people!! They are probably lazy and don't want to work. Professor Taylor is a sweet gentle soul who loves his students and really cares about biology. These classes are tough to begin with and you have to work hard at it. These people are hating because they probably wanted an easy A. Love Professor Taylor!!!!! :)
He can be a bit disorganized but you can not take away the fact that he loves teaching. Especially about Science. He is the best professor I had for this subject. He really loves his students. Take him.
Makes class fun! He can be silly but also teaches a lot. I loved listening to him teach and tell stories. And you can tell he really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is always there to help you. He prepares you very well for his tests. He gives a TON of extra credit. And is just a loving and caring person.
i currently have mr taylor as my bio109 teacher, and if you sign up for this class and get him, you better change it right away. he's awful. if ccp would actually do somethin about it i'd report him. i'm retaking this course and doing worse then i did the first time around. NOT helpful, handouts have nothing to do with tests. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!!!
Somebody please retire this man.Nice guy, but shouldn't b teaching. His notes are so old. When taking the test, u have 2 answer 3-5 problems 2 get credit for one problem. Most times his information wasn't in the book. Then he wanted u 2 label horrible hand drawings parts of a cell of something. I couldn't understand that.
Best class ever
A great teacher. The class I was in is the best ever, my classmates are all very helpful and smarts, he said it's his first to get so many As in a class, prolly becoz more than 10 ppl are nursing students. I enjoy the class very much although I flunked in the lab final (got 78), but so far I never got less than 100 pts in my tests(due to extra pts)
he's allrite. Just study... hard, and you'll pass
I like him. He rants a little, but his hand outs point out exactly what is on his exams.
if your in his class leave quickly. I failed badly even when I tried to study and had great notes including other students notes. He is all over the place and you barely learn anything
Avoid this professor like the bubonic plague...Seriously this guy needs Ritalin, a personal assistant, and a bath in order to be a good professor. He has good intentions but misses the mark by confusing students. Drop now or your semester will be a nightmare.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Professor Taylor!!! This was by far the lowest grade I got in any class but defintly learned the most! He iis the cutest old man ever and loves to help students learn and pass!
All you have to do is read and comprehend the text and focus on what he put in his notes and this class is an EASY A. Don't listen to the other posts, theyre probably students who arent self directed. Even tho he doesnt really teach, his tests are easy and lab is EASYYYYY. Never assigns homework or anything. Your grade is based on your tests.
Very nice man,but very poor instructor.Yes his test are based on his handout, but his handouts are about 10yrs old!If you truly want to learn drop him!He never uses the book and he uses old termology! If you are thinking of a career in the medical field his class shouldn't be your foundation.
Please! if you have this professor..."DROP!" him ASAP.. it will be a waste of your time and money..SERIOUSLY! I just took him for Spring 2011, Bio 109. We started off with 30pp, we ended up with 13 students. He failed 10 of those 13 students. He is Horrible, I must say his labs are "Sweet" that was about the most easy thing the whole semester. he i
GREAT PRofessor. I studied really hard and got an A, very proud of it. If you want to really learn the foundation of A&P, take him, you will have very good knowledge of A&P1 and good to go to A&P2. Don't listen to those rants, they are not self prepared and blame their own fault to wrong person. Handouts give hints to what will be on the test
If you would an organized instructor, do not take him. This professor gives a lot of misinformation and many students had to correct him. His test are ok if they are numbered correctly. His lab handouts are terrible, outdated, and have horrible ancient hand drawn pictures (he is not an artist either)I have him for 110 but dropped for another prof.
He is knowledgeable however he's hard of hearing, has a speech impediment, & doesn't answer questions asked. He can not repeat his last thought and talks about alcohol too much. If you go to his office for help he talks about everything else but what you came there for. His hand outs are very old with poor spelling in terminology. He needs to retire
He is the worst Bio teacher I had. His handouts have really dark pictures you can't distinguish, have bad spelling, and old. He goes on talks and can't remember the last thing he says when he gets interrupted. If you take him you better read the textbook religously and go to a tutor. His labs are the worst, he only pays attention to certian people
OK- I had professor Taylor 20 years ago at Spring Garden College.I've been the microbiologist for a global co for >20 yrs & love the field because of Prof. Taylor & the many classes that he taught me. He was a fun, interested and interesting man that made learning fun. Yes..some students did not do well in his class - if you study.you do well.
I guess he's been using the same handouts as the guy who took him 20 years ago and left the comment..my tutor(yes, you will need a tutor to pass)corrects his handouts all the time. They are poorly printed as well as on the tests. He gets frustrated when you ask questions and goes off on tangents. You MUST read and do chapter outlines for yourself
It's amazing how someone so awful after years of student complaints that he still has a job! He was awful!
Taylor did not use the $135 book at all! We occasionally used the lab manual and exams were based photocopied packets he distributes. He had very short patience for asking questions. Only plus was his office hours before class. I happen to be very optimistic but recommend dropping his class. CCP needs to post the professor's name before classes.
Great teacher, very helpful and knows his stuff. He just needs to speak a little clearer. Anatomy & Physiology is a very intense class, so you have to apply yourself if you want an A
HE IS THE WORST PROFESSOR IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGES... HE WAS LATE FOR CLASS MAYBE TWICE OR THREE TIMES, HES ALL OVER THE PLACE WHEN IT COMES TO TEACHING AND HE GIVES TEST FROM 2005 HE OFTEN MARKED CORRECT QUESTIONS WRONG HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED... NOT VERY CLEANLINESS AT ALL
Taylor is a nice guy who knows the material very well, but gets off topic at times. He has a many interesting anecdotes which keep class entertaining. Definitely read the book to accompany notes/lectures.
Professor Taylor presents himself as a no-nonsense, very strict, very demanding professor--but sometimes those are the best ones. His tests are a fair mix of class notes and the book--so have both! He went out of his way on several occasions to advise me, and to help me navigate the whole enrollment process--once he even went to the dean for me!
YOU MUST READ THE BOOK. Read it before lecture & you will get it. The lecture will be confusing if you don't prepare, but if you read ahead of time, his lectures are pretty funny & weird, so it helps to solidify info. Take advantage of his generous office hours if you have questions. Wish I could take him for 110 and other bio courses.
Another one of my worse professors so far. Taylor is a nice guy, but his lectures are often unclear, his hand outs are poor copies from 30 years ago, and you have to go over your exams to make sure he graded it properly. Labs were poor as well, with no real direction to it. He needs to retire. Stay away from this guy.
In his class now- nice guy but I feel like Im teaching myself. We get a lot of hand outs that I can barely even understand bcus the copies are horrible. He doesn't really explain anything at all.
This man is a messin his class now. He is very knowledgeable, but his mastery of the material gets lost in his horrid presentation of the material. He refuses to construct a schedule (also known as a syllabus) because he fears getting off track. The result is that he is disorganized and forgets what he assigns the lecture before.
His class consists of horribly photocopied and misspelled notes, losing graded quizzes and tests because he is disorganized, and a lack of clear outline for the semester, opting instead to cram in all in at the end. However, he gives so much extra credit to compensate for the above, so you will probably pass with an A if you apply yourself.
The course is challenging however this professor made it even more difficult. Very hard to follow along with the material that was handed out. He did not follow the text book and sometimes the notes conflicted with that of the textbook. He is unclear and disorganized. I honestly felt like I was teaching myself. I would not recommend his class.
Wish I could have drop his class when i had a chance to. The worst teacher ever!!!!!please avoid if you can!!!!!!
I've never written a review before but his awful class motivated me. Don't take it unless you have a prior knowledge of Biology or are capable of (like I did) teaching yourself an immense amount of material in a very short amount of time. Illegible notes. No way of knowing whats on the test. Goes on constant tangents. Confusing lectures. Boring lab
It's been about a month since I started this class, Professor Taylor gives plenty of examples about the material he teaches so that you can understand. I think he really wants you to pass, but it's up to the student on how you apply yourself. You really have to take your time when reading the chapters and outline them. So far he's a good teacher
He does NOT cover test material, he only uses HIS notes which aren't in complete sentences so it is YOUR job to read the entire book if you want to learn and pass. He does not answer your questions and gets off topic WAY too much. He is HORRIBLE
Dont take him so far nobody in my class is passing.
Prof Taylor was a lot of things. He was not the most organized teacher. He did however always give time to any student that sought help. I get the complaints that were listed but once you accept him and read the notes, you will do well. I would take him again
I usually don't review but I feel as though it is my duty to warn others of this terrible professor. His notes are terrible, test are 65-100 questions each, he grades test wrong and does not give reviews. He has the most boring voice I've ever heard. Lectures are all over the place. Over half the class withdraw from the class.
A&P is a challenging course to begin with and he made it all the more difficult. Tests are based off of illegible notes he provides and you entire grade is based off of the tests that's it. Lab exams are insane. Memorize everything get tested on a few things. Labs are very unorganized, long and a lot of time is wasted. Do not take.
Worst class I ever took. His lectures always go off topic and the test don't match the lectures. Do not take unless your super good in science. No classwork or homework you will only be graded by the tests you take.
get ready to teach yourself in his class. lectures are boring! His power points and handouts are old and faded, you can barely read them sometimes. He always goes off topic and doesn't explain the material clearly. He gives a lot of short quizzes that are based off lectures. Be prepared to teach yourself most of the material.
Your whole grade is based off of exams and he gives out pop quizzes almost every other class. He uses old notes and exams aren't even close to the notes he gives. You have to read the text book and teach yourself. No one should take his class and he should retire.
I had Mr. Taylor at Spring Garden College in 1982. He was my favorite teacher of all time and inspired me to be a microbiologist. He was caring, nice and knowledgeable. The notes used at Community College are probably the notes from my class! I was a top student, many in the class struggled. Reach out and go to him for help! Thank you Mr. T.
Do not take this man. He is rude and can't teach the materials for student to understand. Whatever you do avoid his class.
If your looking to withdraw from a course take professor Taylor.
Disorganized. Poor presentation. Old information. Pale PowerPoints which cannot be viewed clearly. He cannot hear the students. Students cannot hear what he's saying. Horrible.
You can barely understand anything he says, he does not answer questions when asked. He can't hear you most of the time, he gets frustrated easily, very unprofessional. I'm not sure how he's still allowed to teach. He uses old notes & faded power points and expects you to be able to understand what your looking at.
