Mr. Perez is an excellent professor. He makes even the hard parts of music theory seem easy. He teaches by having his students compose their own examples on the board so we all learn from each others mistakes. He creates a climate that is laid back and easy to learn in and he makes himself easily accessible to his students who need clarification.

Mr. Perez is great. He realizes most students need this class for credit and he doesnt take offense to it. His test are just watching a video and writing down answers and open not quizzes, thats it. He is awesome!

Mr. Perez is an awesome professor. He truly wants his students to become interested in music and understand its backbone. If you go to class, you will not have a problem understanding his teaching. He is very willing to work with you and give any extra credit he can so you can succeed in his class. Very highly recommended! :)

So interesting! I thought this class was going to be one of those boring classes, but it was so interesting! He made everything really understandable. And even brought the music to life by relating it to soundtracks from different movies. Really easy to work with for grades and tests, etc.

Really cool guy, good at what he does.I didnt like the subject and was bored,but its just not my taste,the teacher is awesome though. He doesnt expect you to be an expert. He doesnt have tests, no homework.Just quizzes, and alot of extra credit. No way you can fail, just take notes, you can use them. If you need the credit, definitely take him.

Professor Perez gave 7 quizes over notes and had you do 3 film reviews of your choice. If you show up, take notes you will not have any problems achieving an 'A'. Half the class did not have a book but it can be helpful in note taking due to reference to the book. Extra credit is available as well. E. Perez is laid back and knows the subject.

He is a great English Composiotion 1 teacher! All you have to do is write 3 papers in the class (5 weeks to do them too) and he is very helpful, funny, nice and replies to your questions too! If you want an easy class and you're looking for a way to fill your english credit then TAKE HIM!

Very easy, kool teacher. The only thing he royally sucks at is having an obsession with Battlestar Galactica and putting a numerous amount of questions about this show on the (only) test. Ehh, that was NOT kool! But overall easy teacher.

Overall he is a very good teacher. He will answer any questions and is available a lot out of class. It isn't a class you can just show up and pass. Work is required, but you can revise your major papers for better grades, he will even help you do it.

he is a good english teacher. he is straightforward with his teaching, and follows his syllabus 100%. he keeps the student busy and trys to do more interactive work rather then lectures. His assignments come off hard, but if you put your effort and do the work he will grade you well. you dont need to be the best writer. I took him for 1301 & 1302

Very easy class. I missed 7 classes and still got a an A. You don't need the text book if you don't mind sharing with your neighbor when you read in class. He was gone on Paternity leave half of the semester for me though. We had two 3-4 page papers and one 8-10 page one as the final paper. Every paper relates to a movie and a problem in society.

More like a debate class because most of his lectures become open discussions in class, it keeps you on the edge or your seat and its pretty hard to fall asleep. Have a 99 in his class so far, gives out a lot of participation work and as long as you do your papers you'll pass. Helps to always be in class but he's not strict about attendance.

Mr. Perez is AWESOME! He accpets your opinons and is willing to help with anything you ask. He allows you to revise 2 out of 3 of the essays. He is an easy A if you participate. My only wish is that he would put all the articles online as well as hand them out in class. OMG You should take him, he is totally AWESOME!!! :-)

Mr. Perez is one of the coolest professors you could ever have. His class is easy and he's there to help you whenever you need it. Just show up to class and do your work and you should make an A. I 100% recommend him.

Ed is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is extremely helpful and very patient with students. He chooses quality material that most of us truly enjoy reading and writing on. Wish there were more teachers like him forreall

He has an interesting way of teaching, but a better way. Instead or reading Shakespare...we watched movies and tv shows to write a paper off of and analyze. If you are young, low 20's/right out of HS, he knows how to keep you interested. Not the boring stuff like Shakespare. He is helpful and soft spoken. I took him for 1301 too.

Best teacher I've had, so far. Only 2, 4-5 page essays. Allows revision for both essays. One test, a final. He is laid back and funny. Love his teaching style, very interactive. Will take him again for 1302, no reason you shouldn't make an A in his class.

Great teacher! Likes to be considered a mentor. He's easy to talk to, very helpful. Treats you like adults. The reading articles are interesting since they're about movies. Only had to do 2 essays and even lets you revise them !!!

Guys, to be honest he is the best english teacher/professor I've ever taken. His class is awesome and he is very helpful. Don't look at him as a professor, but as a mentor. I did enjoy his class and now that I'm done with english I'm starting to miss his class. I do recommend this professor!

Dr. Perez is an amazing professor. You will enjoy his approach to teaching English. He uses fairly current subjects. There is no reason not to get an A in his class. He is very helpful. You will not regret taking his class!

Dr. Perez is passionate and knows his stuff. He made a 8 am class very worthwhile. I wanted to attend and learn as much as I could from him. He is super helpful and wants his students to advance and do well.

Easiest class you will ever take at TCC, while also learning things. Plus we took 3 weeks to watch the first season of Game of Thrones... can't beat that! Take this class, you won't regret it!

Very highly recommended! Mr. P. loves his work, and it shows in his presentation. I dreaded this class before taking it- and now I look forward to every class. He is the kind of teacher that is so good and nice, that students want to do well for him. I have to say I have learned a great deal in this class. Fabulous teacher!!

Professor Perez is incredibly nice and very helpful and understanding when it comes to assignments. His assignments are also very easy, as long as you show up to class. All in all, very good professor with a really good class!

Mr. Perez is a very nice and understanding professor... his is the best English class I have ever took, but get ready to write :) I would definitely take his class again. English has never been my favorite subject, but he made it a little less miserable :) Plus, he gives an easy A :)

Best professor ever! He's there to help you with anything. His lectures are interesting and help you write your essays. He assigns extra credit if you've missed a few grades as well. I would take him again in a heart beat!!

Professor Perez is a wonderful teacher. Very personable and always there for you. He's passionate about his work so participation matters. He only assigns (2) essays but those essays will be around 6-8 pages long. Also, there's a lot of reading a lot of assignments so you definitely won't get bored. It's work but it's worth it in his class.

Seriously the best professor. He wants you to succeed and will do anything to make sure you do. He cares about his students and wants you to learn so you can use the knowledge. He was super helpful, I am going to take him again next semester. This is my favorite class I have ever had at this campus. MUST TAKE!

One of the best professors at TCC. English can be a boring subject, but his way of teaching and the way he presents the material is very helpful and fun. I took him for spring and taking him for 1302 in the summer. His assignments are not only easy, but very helpful and I can learn from it. Excellent Proff, and we need more proffs like him.

He is a sweet guy! Very acknowledgeable in the material. Just do your work and you'll pass ! 2 essays for the semester. Very easy!

I really liked his class. He'd much rather you analyze something that you want to write about than make you analyze a novel of his choice, like most other english teachers do. Plus whenever paper deadlines get close he'll cancel class and call those days "paper days" and you should take advantage of those days! Definitely recommend. :)

Professor Edwardo Perez is such a good professor. There are daily assignments and group discussions. The essays are based on movie analysis, which is easy and not boring at all. We all have to read some poetry and articles he posts for the next day discussion. Very easy. 5 essays 2 to 4 page long. I love his teaching style. High recommend him!

He gave us four reader responses and one critical paper to write. There was lots of group assignment and also a lot of opportunities for extra credit. I like his teaching style. Awesome teacher!

Mr. Perez was super helpful and it was such an easy class. You didn't have to show you because he will email the assignments to you as well as post them on Blackboard. He grades on a point system and doesn't require you to take the final. He also gives tons of extra credit. Only thing I recommend would be do your papers and turn them in on time.

He just the Easiest teacher ever , he will help you if you need help he also a funny teacher I took him for English 1301 and got an B but it is so easy to get an A IN HIS CLASS ,HE IS REALLY helpful when he gives an assignment in class every 10 minutes he comes and check on you if you need help . im taking him again for English 1302 in the summer

Very entertaining/kind/attentive to students. In this class, mostly you'll read articles/respond to them, which can be very tedious. But, he's not a tough grader at all, and he cares more about you understanding something than how well you write. Our last assignments were watching episodes of different TV shows and giving our interpretations.

He was one of the best professor that I ever had. I was bad at writing but his class made be really good at it. I did a lot of work, was interested, I worked more than I would do in my regular semester. His lectures are just amazing. The content of the class is in. It was about 4 hour class but it didn't feel any boring.

I loved professor Perez! Best teacher I have ever had. There are group assignments most days during class, but if you don't come to class he posts them online. There were a total of 4 paper that were really easy, 4 (2 page) papers and one 5 page paper. He is not a tough grader and wants you to succeed, also he offers a lot of extra credit.

Perez is a great professor for those who don't excel in English classes, such as myself. He has a good grading system in place for essays and group projects, and the daily assignments are very helpful for your grade and go well with the type of essays he assigns. Attendance isn't neccesarily mandatory, but you have to be there to daily work graded.

Professor Perez is an amazing professor. Three major essays due throughout the whole semester. Gives daily assignments, but most of them can be taken home. Posts all the homework on Blackboard so you still can do them if you miss a class. Accepts late work, and doesn't use a textbook. Probably the best English professor at TCC, take him!

Great class! It was easy. There's a lot of group work. I'm a very shy person but I enjoyed working with other people. Dr. Perez is very into pop culture so each lesson is never boring. I took him for Comp II and I wish I would've have him for Comp I. You should get an A as long as you turn everything in.

Had him during the Fall 2016 semester, when the election was going on. Very engaging with his students during discussions, even if they were on controversial subjects (i.e. the election) and his interest in pop culture will definitely appeal to the nerdiest student. Definitely a great professor to have.

Mr. Perez seems very serious upon first glance, but he is the total opposite. His love of Star Wars and just diverse writing styles in general will have come to appreciate writing in a way that you never realized you could. The international films we watched in class are clever and witty. Easy A just write and ask questions. Very little hmwk.

Dr. Perez changed his teaching Spring 2017, so older comments may not apply anymore. You're given 1-2 assignments per week, but there are only 2 due dates for the semester: midterm and final. 5 points per assignment, and you get an A for doing all but two. Midterm and final are makeup opportunities, so you can skip the semester and still make an A!

I took him over the summer 5 wk class. There was some group work, class discussions (you'll get more out of the class if you actually open your mouth and participate), daily assignments which we worked on together in our groups, some videos, 4 writing assignments, 1 final exam. He is a great professor, very nice & helpful. Don't need the book.

I took Professor Perez on recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Definitely the best professor Ive had by far. Very caring and will work with you on whatever level you need to be successful in his class. Highly recommend!

By far my favorite English professor. He is caring, respectful and gives great feed back. Not many test but we do have in class assignments so show up for class and you will pass. Or you can always negotiate make up work he an awesome professor.

Dr. Perez is one of the best professors I've ever had. I actually enjoyed the assignments in this class, they were excellent for the methods of rhetoric that we went over. I did really well in this class despite my weakness in English and Literature based classes. He does an excellent job improving your writing skills. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Phenomenal professor who is very good at helping you understand the difficult subject matter at hand. He is very kind and willing to help you become a better writer. Also, he is very lenient on turning in assignments late, but do NOT wait until the end of the semester to do everything.

I had him for 1301 and 1302. Fantastic professor. Really helps us learn the material. I'm not very good at English courses in general, but he really helped me out. The papers and tests aren't too bad his assignments do a great job preparing you for them. I highly recommend this professor for any English class you can take him with.

I took Perez for both English 1301 in the spring semester and 1302 for the 4 week summer semester in 2016. In both classes I made an easy A and learned a lot about writing essays without feeling pressured or stressed by the work. He really cares about his students and makes his lectures both informative and interesting. Highly recommend!

Mr. Perez is a great Professor! His class is not very complicated and easy to follow along with, you learn new theories and every class period you will fill out a sheet with 2-4 short questions (one-page). They are normally checkmark grades, his class is very easy all you have to do is participate!

Awesome professor. Assignments are clear and simple and to the point, and also are very based around student's ideas and opinions. Show up and do the in class assignments every day and the projects and you'll pass with flying colors. However, I would recommend this class even more if you like in class discussion. He LOVES discussing in class.

This man made me cry. He is so sweet and understanding and really cares about you. He doesnt write notes or give powerpoints, its mainly lecture but he will explain until you understand and does not ever get frustrated. He is also a very easy grader. I wish there were more professors such as himself !

Dr. Perez pushes you to think deeper and bigger. We had two paper due every week (every Wednesday and Friday). We had only three big essays throughout the whole semester. There is a lot of reading but it was never boring. His lesson choices were always fun and kept you engaged. He never gave you more than you could handle, but do not procrastinate!

This is my 2nd semester taking him and I am so blessed to have such easy meaningful work. Hw topics are on real-world problems and mainly opinion based although you still have to do research. no due dates!! He is also very open minded and truly cares for his students.

Consistent schedule and not too tough on grading

I took his class during the winter semester and loved it. The assignments weren't easy and I spent a lot of time on my essays, but he didn't grade them harshly and he was very easy to get in contact with. As long as you don't get behind you should do okay in this class!

Took Professor Perez as a wintermester. He provided articles to read and you would write about them. Lots of reading. Gives good feedback. Do your work and read and you will do great. Definitely recommend. Would take again.

I suck at writing. I'm horrible at it. Take Perez if you want an easy comp class. But by easy, I mean actually do your work! He's not a harsh grader and only had 2 assignments each week. It's a little time consuming but it's an easy A for those who need it. 10/10 recommend him.

His an amazing teacher that has patients with helping understand the assignments great at picking out topics to read about that are relevant with what is going on in the world today I would highly recommend this teacher for any student

Perez has such a kind soul, he gives about an assignment per class but when it comes to essays he gives you about a month and a half. He also provides class time to work on assignments and is a super easy grader. Definitely take him if you want and easy A!

I took Prof. Perez class English 1302, it was very interesting, fun and knowledgeable. He gives his class to think on the subject and draws his students into class participation, should take his class no doubt, if you do your homework and really involve yourself in writing the essays, you will get an A for sure. He is very patience, kind, helpful.

Excellent professor and impactful. You should be ready to read. Above all Professor Perez respect his students . Highly recommend you take him. Explicit in his teaching. I enjoyed his class that I had no reason to skip class.

Overall Mr.Perez creates an environment where it is fun to learn. I thoroughly enjoyed the topics and lectures covered. You do not need to show up to lectures however they are very enjoyable. Just complete and turn in your work on time and you should get at least an A.

He is the sweetest and my favorite Professor. Interesting and modern topics. Deadlines are a week after assignments are assigned and they close after 2 weeks, but no late points. He lets you do assignments in class. 2 group projects and all the other assignments you can do as groups but not necessary. One presentation.

He's really nice and lenient. He doesn't take off late points and his assignments aren't difficult at all. His feedback is also wonderful. Would recommend taking him to anyone, definitely an easy A!

Dr. Perez has helped me view literature in a whole new different light. What he teaches gives you an understanding of what literature is all about. If you want or like to learn something new, then he is the teacher for you.

Professor Perez makes English 1301 a breeze. His assignments are reasonable, and he provides great feedback. I found unstuckstudy super helpful for study prep too. Definitely recommend taking his class!

Explains core concepts of English and composition in an interesting way. Doesn't take off for late points, and gives a whole week near the end of the grading period to turn in any unsubmitted assignments, or re-try assignments with a low grade. Focused on learning and growing as writers instead of just busywork.
