He's very strict and very serious. He gives alot of notes and his exams are sometimes hard but if you study yow will pass.

This professor is very strict, but very cool. I loved all the projects, the fruit flies and the DNA Test. Extremely Cool for those who want to make experiments.

He is an amazing professor who really cars about his subject. Very in depth and prepares you for the higher classes. He is the real deal. I highly recommend him for science majors because you will leave very prepared for the higher courses. Great!

this is the best proffesor i have had in a while especially with such a tought class like anatomy and physiology. HE IS AWESOME SO HELPFUL SO NICE AND ALWAYS WILLING TO GO THE EXTRA MILE TO HELP HIS STUDENTS . i passed with a B of course you do have to read and study alot it comes with the class it's not an easy subject but he gives extra credit

It was not an easy class, but he is strictly fair with his grading, gives lots of extra credit and i recommend you do it as well. You have to study really hard, but really hard, and if you are the type of person that wants to pass easily then don't bother but other than that he is good teacher and he's willing to help. Hope this helps :)

He is a great professor! Tough, but the greatest! His assignments are really helpful and his test are hard but you will really learn. He is also available when needed and makes the class interesting. he gives a lot of extra-credits. If you want a challenge and want to learn, I highly recommend him!

Very easy going but don't get fooled by it. Tests are no piece of cake. However, gives lots of extra credit which help your grade a lot. Lives and Breaths MCB. Seems very knowledgable but sometimes overwhelming and difficult to identify which ones are the important concepts for the test. Wont give clues, insists you need 2 study the whole chapter.

Candelaria is very smart! He know's what he is talking about. He is very intereasted in your grade, and how you do in his class. He helps his student's a lot. Gives you notes on your progress and does not make it impossible to get a good grade. You have to STUDY, but if you work hard, and study like you should it will not be impossible!

I have taken seven courses in MDC, the general quality of teaching is disappointing. But he is the best one. Very knowledgble, and very nice person. Strongly recommended for those students who want to study well...

Great teacher, explains in dept so you can understand everything on the subject and then you just read over the book and you'll do great. The book is always a MUST. Heis more than fair and he is also extremely helpful. Probably one of the fewest teachers that actually schedules a study group review before big a test

Gines-Candelaria is a great professor. He knows what he's talking about and that's an understatement. You HAVE to READ. This is not an easy class, he goes fast and you have to be prepared. He gives reviews for the exam which help you narrow down what you have to study. Take him if you are a responsible student and want to learn, not a lazy one! =]

Dr. Gines-Candelaria is great! I took him for Anatomy 1 & 2 and I got As on both classes. He is very intelligent, caring and he is a great person. I recommend him to anyone who wants to really learn! You have to read the book and study for the class.

He was very helpful and made the class interesting. The class is easy if you attend and study the notes. He gives Extra Credit and is always there to help - very fair.

Edwin ROCKS. He's a hard teacher... but people, we're in college, stop your whining and learn something! He forces you to use your text book, and do a lot of studying. But.. he gives extra credit and 87-100 is an A... and you need those extra points! A lot of independent learning here, but he will help w/ anything and always returns emails!

He is a very good professor. He loves microbiology, so if you take such subject, he will get you really involved. He helps put with extra point if he sees you deserve them. Take him if you want to learn.

Virtual College:Mid-Term & Final(Proctered), Quizzes every week(online), Discussion + paper of Muscular System, Participation in Student Questions & Meet Your Classmates Forum. Extra Credit 20-hrs. of Service Learning for 20 extra points + 3 page paper w/ Ref., No place does 20 hrs, min. 150 hrs. so that's unreasonable. Never will take him again.

HE IS THE BEST. YOU JUST NEED TO DO WHAT HE TELLS YOU AND YOU WILL BE OK.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE ONLINE CLASS ENVIRONMENT IS GOOD. THE DIFFICULTY COMES WHEN IT'S TIME TO TAKE THE TESTS. QUESTIONS ARE DIFFICULT FOR THE EXAMS AND EXAMS ARE 100 QUESTIONS MULTIPLE CHOICE. PROFESSOR IS NICE AND UNDERSTANDING. THE WEIGHT OF THE EXAMS IS 60% OF YOUR GRADE AND THAT'S JUST TO MUCH FOR 2 EXAMS. IF YOU'RE NOT WORKING, TAKE HIS CLASS.

He knows his stuff inside and out, he's proffesional, helpful, and genuinly a good speaker. The material is hard, but its microbiology, im thankful i have this guy as my proffesor and would reccomend him to anyone looking to take a worthwhile course, you get your moneys worth and some!

Professor Canderalaria is the "Guru" of micro, nobody knows and help students like him. A lot of extra credits to bring your grade up. Highly recommended. Take him, you won't regre it.

You have to study a book chapter word by word, 100+ pages powerpoints, coursecompass, notes, etc for each module in only one week!! I don't want to say he wasn't helpful because he gave us plenty of opportunities to improve our grades but his exams were ridiculously HARD! If you work and study full time don't take him! It is just too much!

Lab. This is a difficult class,very time consuming esp. for only being a 2-credit course. With that said, he is not easy but if you show effort, he takes that into consideration. He tries to intimidate you at first but don't let that fool you. Will meet outside of class to help you study. He talks a lot but it's worth it, best professor yet.

Two words ... EXTRA CREDIT. This guy isn't the easiest to follow. But he's enthusiastic (maybe too much so), interested in the students, and gives you tons of chances to improve your grade. If you don't do the Mastering Microbiology assignments, you're a fool!

BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!! very fun guy, makes class exciting, spends whatever time necessary to help students. Microbiology is a tough subject, but he covers material very well & gives extra credit. Had a blast in his class :)

I took this class online and it was pretty easy if you are good at studying. The only source of info I needed was the readings from the textbook. Make sure to do the extra credit. It will raise your grade by a full letter or more. The

This professor is wonderful! He is extremely passionate about science and makes the class fun. He is understanding and laid back. If you just talk to him about your issues he will try hard to help. He offers lots of extra credit (which is difficult work but also relevant to the material so it helps).

Amazing professor!!!! I love his teaching methods and he really does love the subject. He teaches in a way that anyone can understand, but you HAVE TO STUDY or you won't do well. I barely ever followed his ppt since it was very long, the book was great. Also, do the extra credit! Don't be scared to take this class, just study and you'll be fine.

WONDERFUL PROFESSOR!!! He is quite intimidating at first but once you get to know and understand him he is marvelous. I took him for lab and lecture, lot of information but you just have to go to class and PAY ATTENTION!!! I have horrible luck in Science courses but he mad it fun, interesting and well worth it!!

If you're taking this class, it's because you want to be in the medical field. He is the best teacher to prepare you for that. Don't escape a challenge, embrace it!!! You will thank him for it later! This class is not easy, but I still got an A with nowhere near maximum effort. Study, take it seriously, and LEARN!!!

Awfully hard class. Good Points: Gives extra credit, no online homework, provides lots of learning extras. Bad Points: Only one shot for quizzes, 30 min for 20 questions. None of the resources he gives help for the quizzes or test. From the study guides he gives only about 4 questions show up on the tests. Proct. Midterm & Final only 33 questions.

Lab had no extra credit. Proctored Mid & Final. Study guides were no help at all. No online homework. He has a lot of learning material but none of it helps pass either the quizzes or the tests. Quiz have 20 questions with 30 min to finish. Only one attempt. If you decide to take him do the pearson chap. test online before each quiz that helps.

If you are a healthcare major and you want to LEARN your material then take his class. You need to EARN your grade which he gives ALOT of opportunities for extra credit to cover your error. BUT he makes sure you know your AnP. If you want to Learn and Work for your grade you will get Both the knowledge and the A.

He is very nice and intelligent professor. He always helps his students with any questions. He gives a lot of extra credit. I got over 100 in his class!!! Just study the book and review his ppt before the tests, you will get an A for sure!

He is a nice, funny guy, very passionate about the class. But he goes through his lecture quickly, you need to read the book inside nd out. Tests are always harder than you think, you can't possibly study enough! But he gives tons of extra credit opportunities, if you do even just 3 you are set for a B. If you fail its your fault for not doing E.C.

Loved him! He moves fast through the lectures, but he's always willing to answer questions. The tests were hard! I had to study so much, but I know the information really well now because of it. He offers tons of extra credit and we were able to drop our lowest test score. Because of this, it's actually not hard to get an A in the class.

He's super smart and loves this subject. Teaches from powerpoints so lectures a little boring. Don't study powerpoints for tests. Over 100 slides per chapter. Read the book inside and out to pass tests. Tests are difficult. Impossible to fail bc he gives tons of extra credit. Plus online HW makes up most of your grade.

He is a good professor, if you can get past his lack of punctuality. He was late to practically every lecture by an average of 15 minutes. He seems to cover the topics that he enjoys the most, the rest of the subject matter you need to read on your own. Tests are not tough if you read the textbook.

BOMBED the second test, but gives 50 points for attendance and unlimited opportunities for extra credit that most of us don't even have to take the final to still earn an B. there are 3 transient students taking this course since FIU teachers don't give homework or extra credit to help with grade, just hard tests. we're lucky! MDC FIU ) woohoo

Professor Edwin is really nice. He seems too strict but he gives tons of extra credit assignments. People complain that there is too much work but at the end that helps you with the grade. If you want to learn and are willing to work for your grade Take Him. If you want to be lazy and get a free A then don't. He drops the lowest exam grade! A+

before taking this class i read all these reviews and I was scared to take him. Where do i begin. I am so happy I took it. Everything he teaches is on the test, if u go 2 class, and record him there u go thats ur test. Alot of extra credit, points for attendance, fair grader, funny . Only con is alottt of work, u can get a good grade

When I took MCB2010 it was hard, most people got C's and a few got B's on all the tests because it is a lot of work and it challenges you to learn a lot of information in a short amount of time (think time management). Guys, if I can earn an A in MCB3023+L, an A in BCH3023+L, and an A in MAC1147 in the same semester, you can too! Just work hard!!

Overall Good professor not the most punctual, often late to class, but very intelligent & passionate about microbiology. Class is not for the lazy, get ready to read & do assignments, which are all beneficial in the end, gives plenty extra credit throughout the semester, so there is no reason for failure of the class. Definitely would take again.

Web site is hard to navigate at first but once you're used to it you'll find it's nicely organized and you can brush up on multiple courses since all the stuff for all other classes is posted on the same course link. He teaches from the heart, not the book! PowerPoints are long but are mostly just there for reference. Record lectures & replay A+

feels like the competencies are so bloated. would rather have done less competencies and have done them all very well... pro: service learning for extra credit. con: lab is very bloated so you better come prepared with your printouts , otherwise you WILL get things mixed up. you've been warned. pro: only top 10 labs count (to help GPA)

I loved this Professor, Easy class if you study and READ ur book. T 5:40-8:10pm Shout out. Best Professor at MDC. He really wants to help you learn and pass and you will pass and actually learn if you read its that easy. Read 1 to 2 chapters a week. it was boring but worth it. Got an A. He gives Extra credit and u can get an A with 88%.

the #1 reasons why more students in my class did not get an "A" is simple. they DID NOT read the chapter or look over his power points. I read the chapters and looked over the power points. I got an A. it was that simple. He gives you ALOT of extra credit, do them and you will SURELY get an A, especially if read the book and skim the power points.

Professor Candelaria is super nice. Very respectful with his students and has a great personality. The subject itself is LONG. Don't blame him. His classes are long and sometimes tend to be a bit tedious. So much information. However, he gives LOTS and LOTS of extra credit. Be sure to read the book and go over his power points.

This teacher wants you to learn the material very well, for that I thank him. he gives lots of extra credit and he is a very generous grader. although, his test are tricky but if you study you will do great. I suggest you read the power points before testing and read the chapters prior class. he answers all Q's clearly. gives progress reports

He is an amazing professor. He gives a TON of extra credit to do and also changes the grading scale to help pass students. In my opinion, his classes are great for independent learner's because he teaches fast so you can't really learn all of the information in one day, the rest you have to learn on your own.

He is simply amazing. He is very knowledgeable and has the answer to anything you could possibly ask. At first he seems scary, but he is approachable. You'll find that lack of confidence will make you fall behind. His course pushes me to take initiative. Reading is essential because his lectures are more discussion and concept based.

He is lecture heavy. He has his own website where you can find pdf textbook, and his slides for each class. His test are hard. But if you study you will pass them. Anatomy is hard as it is. If you can get a group of friends to "help each other out" do it he allows it.

He comes to class late all the time , he is very unprofessional you will pass the class but be aware of him. School started in September and we didnt receive assignments for grades until December ( when the semester is almost over )
