HE WILL GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO HELP STUDENTS. He is an excellent professor!
Makes class more difficult than it should be. Doesn't do a great job explaining
The material is easy, but the test questions are so vague that no one gets A's
Truly wants you to understand, will go out of his way to help.
Nice guy, grades too hard. Makes this material harder than it is. He's a hottie
He doesn't know what he is talking about - can't even answer questions in class
The class is interesting, but the test are ridiculously hard.
This is the hardest class... tests are so difficult and doesn't give good notes.
Better at Psy 360 -- doesn't explain the material well; should stick to Soc. Psy
Very unorganized, very difficult tests
2nd worst proff I have had, exams terrible, avoid
boring and has no clue...he'd be a better stop sign
Nice guy, class is a bitch but he'll help.
Notes are not relevant to test. Harder then it has to be.
outside of one a 94 and 90, the next higest score was a 74!!!!!!! half failed!!
His lectures can be interesting, but his exams are insanely difficult.
When asked about 1st test in PSY his answer: 1/2 of you will fail. Nice, Huh?
Took it twice. Very hard & willing to help. You will learn APA writing format.
If you are in this class-GET OUT! Tests are impossible for an A.

Horrible. Impossible. Waste of money. Learned nothing. Avoid while you can!!
great guy, extremely interesting. Tests are huh? Entertaining, funny
after one lecture i knew i had to drop this class

impossible! the tests are ridiculously hard! stay for away from this class!
Very good professor, is willing to help, makes lectures intersting
take rogers for 300/failed hendersonking, ridiculously hard
unorganized, uses group work as an excuse to kill time, pushes his own values
Funny, but unclear, its a common sence class
he is awful, do not take this class w/ him. very unclear & disorganized
This class is nothing like you expect it to be and class isn't organized.
Incredibly hard and boring... run away as fast as you can and never look back!!
Tests are diffucult. He is willing to work with you as much as you work with him
Unorganized and hard to know what to study for. No structure to class. Nice guy.
run!!!!! run far!!

Hardest class I've ever taken...stay away!!!!!!
He's very difficult. Unclear about his expectations on exams. lots of group work
The worst teacher ever. He is not helpful and is very unorganized. He doesn't fault his teaching skills or himself when 70% of class fails his test. He doesn't care about the students, just about his own self-serving opinions. What a joke.
worst prof. ever
Don't bother. This guy is totally egotistical. Tests very hard. Loves the attention from the students who try to learn something from him.
I would say that he is the worst prof at GV. I am an A student and got a C- and I don't know how I managed that. RUN! He is awful! And he is VERY opinionated!
Don't even think of taking for PSY 300, you'd be better off eating S (and would probably feel like you accomplished more).
I don't know why everyone is so hard on this guy. This class is not that difficult. He is a decent teacher. All you need to do to pass this class is show up and listen and read your book. It's that simple
I didn't not like this man! It was very unorganized. Half the time he didn't even know what he was talking about. I don't like Professors that push their Radical Liberal ideas on me! Don't take classes with him! I barely passed with what I needed!
really difficult tests - they are all cumulative. if you have him, DROP THE CLASS AS FAST AS YOU CAN.
He was the worst prof. I ever had! I nearly failed the class and I attended every lecture and did all of the reading. Be afriad to voice your opinion, he will shoot you down! Worst Class EVER!
I don't understand what the big deal is. If your are not an idiot, go to class, take notes, and read the material you'll be fine. He always help, he will revolve around you for office hours, he's nice and very funny. lazy students rated him bad.
This class is ridiculous, its a theme class for goodness sake. His tests are unreal and half the class is failing. He doesn't care. And then he gives you all of this extra credit to do, but its only worth two points. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! Worst Prof.
He is the WORST Professor I have ever had!!! He explains nothing, when you go for help he pretends, but gives nothing useful. Doesn't tell you what he is looking for, tests are ridiculusly hard. AVOID him at all costs!!!!!
I really enjoyed his class, although tests were confusing, more because of the subject matter than anything else. He is extremely funny and laid back.
EHK ROCKS! He is one of the hardest prof's I have had but he is wonderful if you just go talk to him in his office. He is very understanding and very smart. If you don't do well it is because you are too hard headed and lazy to try to learn from him.
The class was not hard, but he made it unbearable. His lectures did not make it worth the time to go to class, but if you memorize the entire book you will be fine. AND ASK FOR HELP WITH THE PAPER
He is not nearly as terrible as everyone says. I really liked him and would take him again in a heartbeat! He is SO helpful and will not move on if everyone doesn't get it. Get started on the paper when he assigns it, and you'll do fine!
Very concerned whether or not students understand lectures, will compensate. Just read assigned chapters and look over notes before the test, tests are fairly easy. Start the paper early and the class will be a breeze!
Go to class, take good notes, and do the readings and you'll do fine. Great to talk to after class!
he is the worst prof. ever, without a doubt
HORRIBLE!..DO NOT TAKE...that is all I have to say. Likes giving out F's and has no problem doing so. I got a C- out of the class, but I was really unclear on his grading...Worst class ever!
First of all, his name is spelled Eaaron. Second of all, people who give him bad ratings are lazy and unmotivated students. He will make you work for your grade, but you will learn a lot and that is what college is all about...hard work.
I think he is an excellent prof. He will go out of his way to help you with projects and whatnot if you ask. He likes to get to know his students and is extremely laid back and easy-going. Tests are kinda hard, but get over it. Its college!
Yuck! If you like structure in a class dont take this prof. You really have to work hard and teach yourself the material. Very unclear on what he is looking for as far as the paper and every time you go ot talk to him all he says is "keep working on it" and "Dont worry". Very understanding though.
Everyone warns you about this man but it's a 400 level so he expects good work and attendance. He is very helpful, extremely funny, and the tests are simple as long as you study. Project is challenging but very do-able as long as you apply yourself. Grades papers tough but helps you with revisions.
tests are difficult, no study guides. format is really weird. very tough on grading. lectures are unorganized. hes really willing to help with paper...outside of class...in class, seems really unwilling to answer Q's clearly. really funny guy and really nice. only 2 tests and 1 paper and 1 final.
His class is hard and he DOESN'T ANSWER EMAILS!!!! RUDE MAN!
He is really hard but he will help you understand the material. I learned so much and I felt very proud after I passed his class. Paper is hard but he'll help you. He doesn't play favorites and you don't even really have to go to him for help because he makes sure noone is forgotten.
Devil Man. If u aren't a PSY major, dont take this class. he's super hard and expects u 2 spend way 2 much time on a theme class. grades SUPER hard and tests will make your brain bleed. nice guy, but lecture is very unclear and hard to follow. only take if you are a PSY major. thank god for the project
I think that he is absolutely wonderful. I can see where students wouldn't like him (those who aren't the hardest of workers). I thought he always made the material clear if you were confused and I really looked forward to his class everyday.
He was horrible. I failed his first test and I came to class every day and studied! Avoid him if possible.
I do not recommend him.
Just show up for class and read the assigned readings. They aren't bad, actually interesting. He helps a lot with the project if you ask him for it.
Nice guy, very unclear about expectations. The paper = nightmare and both in-class exams became take-home projects. He assumed that everyone had a thorough up-to-date knowledge of PSY 300 and of publishing in general. If you can't write a publisher-ready thesis before you take this class, you certainly won't be able to after taking it.
Willing to work with you outside of class, not the most proficient at BB or online but will make an effort if thats the only way that you can meet with him. He is unclear about expectations and whats going to be on the exam, but I found the material and readings (aside from the first) very interesting. Good class to take credit/no credit
I feel bad saying this because he's a really nice guy, but the class was terrible. He's really unclear on expectations, and likes to talk about stuff not related at all to psychology in class, but then still expect you to know everything for the exams. I would take another prof if you can.
He is a very nice man however this a class that if i could go back in time I would stop myself from taking. I'm glad that it's over and I don't have to deal with that bs anymore. He never really told us what he wanted from us and that screwed the whole class over
He's a nice person, but a terrible professor. He doesn't answer emails very often, and if he does, it's too late, so don't depend on him getting back to you by email. In fact, just don't take him at all if you can avoid it. The class average near the end of the semester was a D+ and the class averaged a 58% on one exam if that's any indication.
He is one of the toughest graders I have ever had!!! The class seemed easy until I took the test! He changes his mind ALOT too about assingments and can be hard to meet with.
horrible prof. he doesn't answer emails and is very unclear about expectations. I did every reading assignment, took notes in every class, tried to understand the material, and still pulled off an F on an exam (after studying multiple days in a row). He doesn't prepare his students to be sucessful in this class.
This class was pretty darn hard for me. I liked Prof. King as a person, but didn't really like his teaching style. The classes weren't very organized, and almost the entire class failed the first exam! He is a very friendly guy though, and is always willing to help if you need it. The group project is also pretty annoying.
Horrible horrible class. It's too bad he's the only one who taught it when I needed it. He is nice like everyone else says, but don't let that fool you, he is a horrible horrible grader. Acts like he wants to help, but is impossible to please. Good Luck, you need it! I did worse on his first test than I have in any other class ever!!
This class is pretty useful, and particularly interesting if you like politics and what is going on in the world as well as the role of media in our lives. Attendance is necessary to do well, reading too. Professor Henderson-King certainly has his quirks, but he encourages critical thinking and objectivity.
Do yourself a favor, don't take this class. Professor is unrealistic. TONS of reading, most of which is never used, but gives no guidelines or expectations. Lectures are mostly a waste of time, he goes through 5 powerpoint slides max, and you are never tested on this information. Unapproachable and unhelpful.
Nice guy, but extremely hard grader. I don't think anyone received an A in this class. The class is pretty interesting, but it was very hard for me to do well because he grades so hard, almost to the point where it's unfair. I studied more for this class than I have ever studied for anything and it still didnt help me get a good grade.
Hardest Prof ive ever had. HE is a great guy and really expects the best of you. If you are a person looking to really learn the material and put forth some effort, then this class is for you. I dont know how to get an A in the class, i guess you have to be really smart at the topic already before the class. He is really helpful during office hours
He is a funny guy and made things interesting but by far the hardest grader I have had in my entire college career. Tough, tough grader with no heads up on a lot of things.
I loved this class. Professor Henderson-King is a fairly hard grader, but he offers many extra credit opportunities. If you take advantage of extra credit + show up to class, you will be fine. He is very helpful, friendly, and interesting. I really liked him.
Knowledgable in his field, but his teaching style conflicted with my own at times. As much as I love metaphors and analogies, he would stretch out a single point over 20 minutes without much elaboration. Good professor though, and uses about half lecture/half book [if you get through enough in class]
A great professor! He is a tough grader, but is very knowledgeable and is only trying to help. He truly wants you to feel comfortable with research and is very helpful. Exams consist of both lecture and book topics. Read, go to class and listen, and you'll do fine!
One of the hardest classes I've had at GVSU. Lectures are spuradic and you never know what to write down. Also has a tendency to tell you not to take notes on a topic because it isn't important but then puts it on the exam. I met with him outside of class and got a lot of help on my papers from his one-on-one and still barely squeaked by!!
Make sure you do all the extra credit opportunities he provides! His exams are tricky but you can still get a decent grade if you do extra credit. This class may be a good option for pass/fail especially if it is for your theme.
I always want to come to class, because he is fun yet I learn lots from him!! He makes topics easy to understand, and his examples are excellent--they really help me remember things when it comes to tests, which are not bad if you pay attention in class. Overall EXCELLENT instructor! I'd take another class from him in a heartbeat!!!!!!!
Funny teacher, but very hard grader. Like everyone says...make sure you do the extra credit. it will save you. and, yea he drags out a point FOREVER... but all in all its usually a good example. i would probably take one of his classes again if i had the chance
comes off as a really friendly nerdy guy at first, so you will read 500 negative reviews and not drop in the first 2 weeks. You will soon find every word on here to be true. DISORGANIZED, UNFAIR GRADER, LECTURES WERE CONVOLUTED, TESTS QUESTIONS ARE WORDED DECEITFULLY, PUSHES RAD. LIB IDEALS, SMART, NICE, SENSITIVE, BUT SIMPLY NOT A GOOD TEACHER.

Great prof. Hard class. He is a difficult grader on paper and quizzes but study hard and you will do well on exams. He is a lot of fun and makes you think openly about ideas. I learned a lot from him! Just study a lot and read the material.
Great prof! hard course! With quizzes and papers he is a difficult grader. Participate in class a lot, very helpful outside class, submit rough drafts before they are due, study hard for exams, do the extra credit, and READ THE MATERIAL then you will do fine. He covers a lot on the material he provides, lectures can be long but overall he is fun!
This is a horrible professor. He is offensive, dismissive, and unclear in his teaching. Do not take him especially if you do not understand statistics very well. He is awful at explaining it. He just writes formulas down on the board without explaining how he got the numbers. He is funny though. It is difficult to set up appointments with him.
Prof Henderson-King is definitely a nice guy. However, his teaching style is all wrong for me. I never knew where we were going or where we coming from. We covered some topics in excruciating unnecessary detail and then other topics we barely touched. I am lucky that this stuff comes naturally to me; most of the class did horribly.
I thought this man was a great professor! Three years after taking him, he still remembers who I am when I pass him in AuSable. If you are willing to work, he will work to make sure you understand the material. I wouldn't have gotten through 400 without take him for 300!
I don't want to be too mean because he's a really nice guy but he grades really hard & expectations aren't very clear. Attendance isn't madatory, but you'll be lost if you miss a class. 3 cummulative exams and 1 7-10 page research paper, heavy on statistics.
Nice guy but absolutely pushes his liberal views. All you really need is to show up for class and you should do ok. Test questions are a bit deceiving.
He was a great person, but what he lectured on and had us read versus what was on the exam was confusing. He asked you to make crazy connections and little things he mentioned once and insisted didn't need to be written down. The average for the first exam was 67%. That's a D people.
Most psych majors at GV will tell you this guy is the worst professor. He doesnt even really teach, nor does he respond to emails. If you are extremely motivated and seek him out during office hours you may pass. The average test grade in my class was 64%. Yes, there is something wrong with this teacher. His wife is a true professor though.

At the start he seems extremely hard, but he's really not. He doesn't give reviews, and is sometimes unclear in his directions but if you study you will do well. Overall I learned a lot from the class, and would take this professor again. He's pretty funny, and the class is pretty interesting for a lecture based class.
I wouldn't have passed without being in class. The book is needed and there are various other readings you need to get off of course reserves. I learned so much in this class but I had to work very hard for a B+. Have him review your papers and ask him how to study for his tests, I went from an 80 & 70 on the first two exams to a 97 on the final.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! Do not take! Very unclear as to what he wanted out of us. helpful if you went to his office hours but in class seems very confused and we neevr really went over anything new until he tried craming all of it in the last week. Tests are extremel hard! My whole class was just hoping for a C to pass the SW. DO NOT TAKE!!
He is not a bad professor like everyone says. Psych 300 is a very challenging class, and if your definition of a good prof is a prof that will hand you a good grade then I suppose he is horrible. It is a class that makes you work very hard, but he was always willing to slow down and help our class. You just need to be willing to ask for help.
Learned a lot and became interested in the class bc of the prof's positive attitude and his desire for our class to do better. Tough tests though. I'll be taking him again for research methods bc I think he can make it at least a little interesting with his personality.
Take him! He is a great professor, very insightful, and really funny! I learned so much from this class. He really connects with students and shows a genuine interest in your life and success in the class. His exams are not easy, but if you study you will do fine and he offers a lot of opportunities for extra credit.
Dr. Henderson-King is hilarious and he's very easy to work with. If you approach him, he is always happy to help. I look forward to having him as a professor again!
Nice person, bad teacher. He seems to have a clear idea in his head what he wants but cannot explain it well. He also made this course mostly about politics, not media as a whole. He spent way too much time letting people use class time for political debates. Assigned excessive and unrealistic amounts of reading.
He is a good guy but a horrendous prof. The amount of reading he assigns is unrealistic. (There was one 10 question quiz that required over 300 pages of reading!)He is extremely unclear about what he wants for papers and take home exams. If you plan on missing a class, expect to be totally in the dark.
Professor Henderson is a nice guy but a terrible professor. His expectations are extremely unclear and he's a very intense grader. Our entire class was struggling and he knew it. He made this class a lot harder than it should be.
Little did I know this would be a politics class. He has high expectations but is extremely unclear about what he wants until after homework is submitted, upon which he talks to you like you should've known all along. Be prepared to read material that won't be discussed. May be a nice guy, but will definitely not change his ways. Waste of an elect
Discussion is not discussion, he likes to fuel arguments that usually relate to politics and have nothing to do with the class. Wasted a lot of time and felt like he was either making students attack me or me sound like I was attacking other students. Should really be teaching government or political science. NOT USEFUL FOR PSYCH MAJORS OR MINORS.
Awful professor. Everything on here is spot on. This should have been a political science class because he rarely connected to psychology, but ALWAYS connected to politics. Clearly liberal &often mocked conservatives. I wasted an elective on this class and struggled the entire semester. Definitely not useful for a psychology majorminor, stay away!
Eearon Henderson-King was a lot of fun. He's pretty wild and gets excited about the material. Promotes and enjoys discussion. Very clearly passionate about the subject, but also takes it seriously. Quite a bit of reading, but it's spread out. The tests aren't too bad. Offers many extra credit opportunities at random times.
Get ready for a semester long paper with an assigned group. Attending class is a must. You want to get on his good side early on. I think he grades people he likes slightly easier. He expects a lot but is willing to work on it with you if you talk to him. Office hours are the best way to communicate with him. Personally, I enjoyed having him.
Extremely unclear when it comes to assignments. Assigns an unrealistic amount of reading. This isn't a psychology class, just a basic overview of how the media works. If you've taken social psych you won't learn anything new. Takes twenty minutes to explain a very simple topic, always relates everything back to politics, not psychology.
Really fun prof, makes lectures interesting. Tends to get political during discussions. There's a lot of reading that you actually have to read and take notes on. Overall I really enjoyed the class.
Took this class because I took a media and sociology class, so I thought this class would be interesting, too. To my surprise, this class turned into a political science class. NO PSYCHOLOGY ANYWHERE. I was hanging by a thread the entire class. If you love politics, this class is a go. If you love psychology, stay away!
He was extremely confusing about what he expected from you and your group; said 1 thing one minute and another thing the next. Took a significant amount of points for the smallest things. You'll work many hours for this class and not receive the grade you deserve because he's too egotistical to give it to you. Take another professor for this course
Constantly changing his mind about what he wants. No specific guidelines/unorganized. Grades like you're a professional and know exactly what you're doing. Gives feedback but changes his mind right after. Nice person but doesn't realize we're only students and that this is a class and we're still learning.
Granted there was little psychology in the course, the class remained very interesting. There is a ton of reading, but he covers much of the important material in his lectures. I rarely read and managed just fine. If you are a strong writer and attend class, essays are not very difficult. Course starts off boring, but gets pretty interesting.
For PSY 400 he almost never lectures and lets you work on your group project every day in class. He is helpful, but he often changes his mind about what he wants and expects from your project. He is a tough grader on the presentation and paper. Overall, he is a nice guy, easy to talk to, and is pretty funny.
I got an A in his class, but he is absolutely not willing to help you out or work around anything that's going on in your life outside of the classroom. Very full of himself and thinks he's better than you, but clearly he's a little insecure. Doesn't truly want to see students do well. If an answer is right but it's not what he thinks, it's wrong.
He is an amazing Professor. I don't care what anyone else that rated him says, just because he is tough does not mean he doesn't care or is a bad Professor. He is absolutely hilarious and made every class period fun. I enjoyed talking to him outside of class and he was always there to help. He will keep you laughing!
I do not recommend taking him a professor. Very nice guy, but is hard to understand during the lectures. Very strict grading criteria.
Makes class fun and for the most part engaging. The big downside is that he doesn't seem to be well-planned and his grading techniques seem completely arbitrary and unclear in regard to expectations, especially on papers. It is unlikely that I would take him again.
Henderson-King is one of the friendliest, caring profs I've had at GV. His class is challenging, but he is more than willing to help outside of class via meetings, calls, or Facetime. The class is a lot of work but you learn so much from Prof King, he is so knowledgeable and excited about the topic! TAKE HIM
He really doesnt do much to help you get a good grade. The criteria for every single paper is very unclear. Including the tests. You pretty much have to be in class cuz thats the only way youll know what will be on the test. Take good notes because you will never pass if u dont. Make sure u read everything too. Overall, I wouldnt take him.
I loved Professor King. Attendance is mandatory due to a lot of group work done in class. There was one test and only a couple assignments otherwise everything else is based on the main research project which is done as a group. He gives a lot of good feedback but does change his mind a lot, but always lets everyone know in a timely manor!
He's super cool. He changes his mind on what he wants constantly and is NOT organized. We wasted like 3 weeks before the exam rambling about nothing. The group project is typical of any group project. My advice if you take this class, get a head start on collecting and interpreting your data. You have to make up for his scatteredness.
One thing I need you to understand about Dr. Henderson-King is that he relies heavily on lectures and could go on for hours. He often trails away from the subject to the point where I lose focus, but at least he keeps the discussion somewhat entertaining. I couldnt ever figure out what he wanted from me in the papers though. Also, do the reading.
At first I liked him. However, his teaching and grading style is awful. He DOES NOT do study guides, and study guides would be helpful bc there are so many readings that it's impossible to know what will be on the test/quiz. He expects you to know every detail. He is also passive aggressive in his emails. Never had so many issues with a prof.
He will grade you VERY toughly and you will never receive in written words anywhere of what he expects in each project. You will not receive feedback on anything even if marked down. Does not teach what you are expected to learn from this class. AVOID at all costs. The one positive is that he will respond to all emails promptly and is accessible.
DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HIM! He is passive-aggressive in person and over email. He never provides clear instructions and assumes you know what he wants for every assignment. He talked about sensitive topics during class instead of the actual material. It is clear he only cares about his paycheck and not his student's success. Very egotistical.
he is a super nice guy, but the class was overall kind of confusing. the setup of the class was also confusing. he is very much willing to help you or answer questions, but this was my most confusing/hardest class this sem.
Very unclear what this guy wants from you in practically every area of this class, especially assignments. No where is it written in words what he wants/expects from you on assignments. Tough.
This is an honest review. He is very nice, very willing to help if you show him you care a little, but is very unclear in his assignments, papers, and sometimes even exams. Its hard to understand what he wants from you, that being being said he is more then willing to help vis zoom or email. Very frustrating class to be in tho...
He seems like a nice guy but it seems as if he does not want his students to do well in his class. We just completed an assignment that gave very little instruction, and I learned a majority of what was expected by watching videos from his office hour sessions with other students. Did not give any feedback on what we did wrong for the assignment.
He gives good feedback via email but sometimes takes a little while to answer. he does genuinely care about his students. The setup of BB was confusing. Tests are mc and essays. There's also a group project and some quizzes. You definitely have to put in your best effort to the class, but it wasn't super difficult. He is such a kind-hearted guy!
Lectures didn't make any sense, whenever I asked for help he would be condescending, and when I had a group they excluded me and I emailed him about it and he did not care. He is the worst professor and I wish I held off on taking this class instead of experiencing this.
If I had the option to retake this class, I wouldn't pick him again. The course content itself is extremely unclear and he doesn't seem to know what he wants. Changed the syllabus halfway through the semester and grades very heavily without giving you an explanation of what you did wrong. He's a nice guy, but he's not a great teacher by any means.
If you like clear instructions and feedback dont take this professor. Hes the epitome of a nice guy but a godawful professor. Ridiculously though grader for giving no explanation on what he wants. He changed the syllabus maybe three or four times during the semester and rarely updated the class on these changes. If you get a bad group, good luck
Please avoid this prof at all costs. I have never been so lost and confused in a class before. Nothing is organized. This class is tough in general and he makes it SO much worse. Big group project with unclear feedback. Quizzes and homework assignments are terrible. You will want to cry if you take him for any class. Do not take him. AVOID!!!!!!!!!
He's a nice guy, but he grades SO hard. Out of the entire semester I got 100% on only one minor assignment. Unclear instructions, confusing, changes the syllabus constantly, and has no confidence in students. Entire class struggled because he explained nothing. Worked our behinds off and got a C+ on the final paper. DO NOT take him.
He's very rude and condescending. Only a month into class and he assumed I was cheating on everything even though I sent numerous emails asking for help. Confusing asl. Does not outline what he wants from you nor does he think he does anything wrong. Sent me to the chairperson only for the counselor and chairperson to be on my side. Avoid him.
Nice person, terrible professor. I have never been more confused in my LIFE. I honestly think that if I had gotten a better professor I'd probably be doing a lot better in his class right now. He does give good feedback, but only sometimes. Other times it might just confuse you even more to ask for help. I'm sorry if you end up with him tbh...
He's nice at first but makes for a mess of a professor. If you ask him Qs he will go down a rabbit hole and not answer what you're asking. He does not make an effort to prepare students for his quizzes/papers/exams. He lazily relies on 1 semester-long group project where you're stuck at the level of the lowest achiever with no way out. avoid
Loved his personality, but he was a really bad professor. His syllabus was super disorganized, his "lectures" were YouTube videos that he didn't even make, and he would take off points for literally everything. This class was the hardest class I've ever taken, and it definitely didn't need to be that way. Take someone else for the sake of your GPA.
Blackboard was confusing to navigate at first. If you show up and do the work, the class is manageable but still difficult. His explanations for different theories and ideas were helpful. All his essays are pretty open ended and confusing though. He also tends to talk in circles a lot so it was difficult getting a helpful response at times.
I love prof H-King as a person, not so much as a professor. If executed correctly this could have been a super interesting class, instead I feel like I've barely learned anything. Unfortunately he is the only prof who teaches this class- if you NEED to take this class its not unbearable, but if you don't need it, I would find another one.
nice person, but horrible professor!! He is not very nice with grading stuff. when giving comments, they are confusing or bad like saying " this is not right" when it came right out of the textbook. he doesn't care about how hard you work. If anything I would avoid this prof at all costs.
WAY too much reading to do, super high expectations, does not give good feedback. He is a great person but do not expect to get anything worthwhile back from him, you're on your own. Its a toss up what your grade is most of the time and he wont ever be happy with what work you give. He does offer extra credit though which helps your grade somewhat.
He puts his all into his students. I have never had a professor meet up so many times for tutoring and answer emails so fast. Several examples in class, and is willing to move deadlines for learning purposes. He grades THOUGHOUGHLY and READS ALL YOUR SOURCES TOO. He talks in circles sometimes, so ask lots of Qs to clarify. He's very kindhearted.
Dr. Henderson-King is very funny and nice. He wants you to succeed and will work with you to do so. The entire class is focused on your research project so make sure that you are asking any and all questions possible. His blackboard is extremely disorganized and he is a very tough grader, but he will work with you and help as much as possible.
He's a very nice guy but TOUGH grader!! He nitpicks every little thing when he doesn't even give clear directions. If you need structure, organization and clear instructions like I do, I would avoid this class if possible. The semester-long group project is also a big part of your grade so definitely spend lots of time on that.
He's an awesome teacher and an inspirational person. I learned a ton in this class its hard work but the grades are fair and if you follow instructions you'll do well. I wish more teachers like him were at gv.
Very kind and funny, but an awful professor. I've been in college for years, and I have never encountered a prof or class like this. I've never been so lost. Directions are horribly unclear, and he grades very harshly, despite not telling you what he wants in the first place. Genuinely didn't learn a thing. Love the guy, but this class was not it.
Blackboard & syllabus is disorganized/unreliable! Wrongly takes away points. Requires group research project w/ meetings outside of class time, quizzes, assignments, exams, readings, weekly presentations & essays. Instructions not written down/constantly changed; leaving students confused for final exam & research paper. Won't help outside class.
Worst Professor I've ever had by far, always finds a way to bring up politics, makes it very clear what side of the aisle he's on, and if you're not the same, you feel hesitant to talk in class. Very unorganized, due dates were unclear and changed for every assignment. Would honestly find a different professor; you'll thank yourself later.
If you don't have to take this professor, DON'T. I have now gone through 4 years of college and I can confidently say this is the worst professor I have ever had. He grades on very few things, we have a semester long group research project, he expects so much without giving much direction, and he is always bringing up politics and his own beliefs.
Do NOT take him if you can avoid it. The class was consistently disorganized, and lectures often shifted to his personal political opinions instead of the course content. He repeatedly made inappropriate, unrelated comments all semester. This was by far the worst professor I've ever had.
