Not only does he teach in a way that everyone can relate to and understand, but he is also funny, easy on the eyes, has an outstanding accent and really makes you excited to learn and happy to be there. He is great at showing the best and easiest methods and some easy methods that I wish they would have taught us in HS. Mr G. is Awesome!

He is awesome! I took 0301, 0302 and 0303 with him and I got A+ in all 3 of them. He helps you a lot and he explains everything great. He gives reviews that tell you what will be on the exams and the quizzes. He gives 4 exams and drops the lowest of them. A lot of homework and practices but is all worth it :)

VERY helpful, I've never had a math teacher that is so clear before, and he makes sure that everyone in the class understands it before he moves on. Works at the perfect pace, not too slow but just slow enough for everyone to keep up. If I needed to take another math class I would definitely take his class again.

I took him fall 12,I have always struggled with math but he made it so easy to understand I passed with an A study the notes and quizzez and you will pass hes a great techer always goes over homework questions and explains everything step by step and clearly I would love to take him for all my math classes.

Even though he has a little bit of a Spanish accent, he explains the steps, formulas and concepts so well and so crystal clear that you can actually understand math. He is the BEST math teacher I've ever had...and I despise math to begin with. He is one to take if you're not a math fan, he will help you and explain things so simply :)

Me & math are not friends...but with this professor, he explains the steps, formulas & concept so well that it make it so easy to learn. He has the gift to teach math to anyone...you can actually follow & possibly respect math with him as a teacher. I'm actually taking him again for the next level because I like his teaching methods.

This professor made learning algebra easy. Yes you will have quizzes and test but if you study you will be fine. I only had to take algebra once while others in my class had taken it two and three times with other professors. He also drops one of your four test grades. I would take him again for any other math class i had to.

This is a top quality professor. Without a doubt I'd take another class with him. Explains the problems very well, does NOT surprise students with test. Do your work, finish the study guides he provides, and you WILL PASS! Students who were struggling were those who didn't try. He gives a break in class which I found excellent to review for quiz.

Mr. G is by far the best math teacher I have had. Prior to this course all of my math classes had been online and I was astonished at the amount I was able to learn from him. The first 30 minutes of each class was him working out homework problems the class was having trouble with. Very caring and wants you to succeed!!

Guevara is the best math teacher I've ever had. I've taken him for Algebra, Trig (Pre-Cal), and Calculus. He does plenty of examples in-class. Homework isn't that bad... it really helps for exams. Speaking of, his study guides are VERY similar to his actual tests. Do these, you're guaranteed an A. Textbook not really req'd for algebra and pre-cal.

Awesome teacher breaks everything down, and explains things very well. Always available, and ready to help when you need it. Most of the work is on MyMathLab, but the assignments that are not he gives feedback right away. He gives reviews for tests which are very similar to the actual test. Overall great teacher and would highly recommend.

Professor Guevara is an excellent math teacher. He does not give extra credit, but he does give points for missed questions if you worked out some of the problem correctly. Grading is heavily weighted towards exams, but he gives reviews. If you study his reviews and understand them, you will probably get A's. Don't skip class or you'll get lost!

This is a good, but tough professor. He will make you study hard for your A, even as hard as I worked, I ended with an 88. Do your hw, write down all the notes, and ask questions. Do. not. miss. class. You will fall behind if you do, and he's not forgiving there. But, he does break down the hard stuff to where you can understand it.

Mr. Guevara is an excellent math teacher. He will answer your questions and spend time making sure you know your stuff. You can expect an A granted you put in your part of the work, and are brushed up on algebra. He encouraged us to use his office hours and helped me whenever I got stuck on a new concept, which was often. I would take him again.

I've taken precalculus before and have always struggled, but I took this as a refresher course. He really takes the time to make sure you understand everything. There's quizzes and tests. Didn't have to buy the book, because of a new system being used. As long as you work hard and review, you can get an A. Would definitely take him again.

Professor Guevara is excellent at helping his students understand math. He started the course with making sure everyone was comfortable enough to ask each other questions, and he is always willing to clear up any confusion. I've had some good math teachers before but I learned the most from him, and I hate math. Do your part and you'll do great.

Professor Guevara is very helpful and engaged. His lectures aren't boring and it is pretty easy to maintain attention. Without spending time going through the book, you can easily fall behind, especially toward the end. The final topics, only barely covered, were given too much weight in the third and final exams.

I took this class online and it was pretty simple. Make sure you're prepared to teach yourself if you are taking online! He gives extra credit on completed reviews and seems more than willing to help if you need it!

His lectures are very clear, if there is a homework problem that you don't understand WRITE IT DOWN and he will go over it the next class. Do the study guides they are very helpful on the tests.

Professor Guevara is an excellent teacher. He's a down-to-earth guy with a great respect for math and teaching. He breaks all the chapters he talks about into sections, and you only do 1-3 sections during each class period. He'll go over questions, HW, and review for his quizzes and tests. Overall the class was a lot of work and time consuming,it was a summer class( 5 weeks) but if you study a lot you should get an A. 3 EXAMS, lots of hw, 1 final, and 8 quizzes. He provides exam reviews which helps. If you study every thing than you should be fine. Getting an A was not easy.

Straight up told us not to get the book, it's not needed. You only need a calculator. He would try to get students involved and was very funny. Would definitely take again if I needed more math.

Took a summer flex pre-cal. Great professor! Very friendly and accessible. Great at explaining and demonstrating the concepts. Never made me feel stupid for asking questions. This is the first math class in a while that I broke an 80%!

Mr. G is amazing. Even if you don't like math he will make you understand. You do have homework on every chapter you do, but they aren't hard. You use my math lab and he lets you redo questions you have got wrong. He does have 4 test, which one is the final, and he also does online quizzes and in class quizzes as well. He is very easy.

Easy math course for your prereq. he takes the time to explain things, even if you do have a silly question, will make time outside of class, responds to every email within a reasonable time, will let you make up grades, and takes him time with the material even if he has to go over multiple times.

He explain things very well and doesn't embarrass you if you have questions. Very easy test and quizzes , if you study. And there is homework but you use My Mathlab so its fairly easy. A little time consuming but not tough. He's always available outside of class and responds to emails in a reasonable time.

Good Professor. I took him for Summer 1 and the class goes extremely fast. We cover a weeks worth of material in one day. There were 3 tests and one final. MyMath Lab HW and in class quiz every day. He did offer extra credit that went to are overall test avg. He teaches extremely well and if you have any questions ask and he'll explain.

Mr. G is just awesome. Calculus is not an easy course but he does his best to make his student understand. Gives partial credit if you kinda known some problems on exams. I emailed him if he could open up some homework for me to do and he did He's great, take him. There is a lot of homework and some things he doesn't have time to teach.

I took him in the spring of 2018. As someone who likes math, but struggles with it sometimes, Mr. G is so good at teaching and knows what he's talking about. Lots of homework, a few quizzes (some open book, some online, some in class), and a few exams. I struggled at the beginning, but had an A by the end of the class. 4.5/5!

Mr. G is a sorcerer because he helped me understand the ins and out of the unit circle and I cant believe I learned it as well as I did. I can solve that circle just by looking at it now and without notes. Hes an excellent teacher! Homework is online instead of a book, which was my preference.

Although this class could be possibly difficult, do not hesitate to ask him as he will stop everything and answer your question. took 3 major tests and quizes were easy as long as you kept up with the material. In Guevara's online 1414 class, as long as you do the homework and quizzes and exams you will pass. 2 exams (midterm and final) must be taken on campus. You don't have to watch the videos if you don't want to, just click on them. USE TUTORING RESOURCES. SAC has: the SLAC lab, the Math Space, VA tutoring, DSS tutoring. He can also conference call.

I took professor Guevara for Pre-Cal (grade:96)and Cal 2 (90). He is amazing, his lectures were easy to follow along, answered every question you had, and gave detailed explanations. He is by far the best math professor I have ever had. I highly recommend him, you won't regret taking his class!

Mr. Guevara is a wonderful lecturer & explains the material better than most math professors. However, he is very much the type of professor to be like, "Oh you you missed that day? You should refer back to your notes." He will not revisit a topic & moves at his own pace. All in all, he's an exceptional educator & an A should be easy if you try.

Excellent Professor and clear cut grading criteria! I took this over the summer (5 weeks) and it was a ton of materials to go over. Lots of HW/Quizzes but not dif. The homework, quizzes and exam reviews* were very helpful in getting a good score on your exams. He will re-adjust scores on exam if minor mistake was made so very fair! (let him know).

Just took him for Cal 2 and was difficult to learn online, but Professor Guevara is clear and patient. He explains it thoroughly and makes it easy to follow. Lots of homework, but reasonable. Hope he teaches Calculus 3 in the future!

If you struggle with algebra, he is the best professor to have. He is super caring and will break anything down for you if you ask, no matter how many times you may ask. He truly cares about his students and will do anything for them to understand the material. He even gives partial credit on tests, which really helps. It's a very enjoyable class!

He will teach you the same thing over and over again until you understand it, he truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. I've now taken him for algebra, pre-cal, and I'm hoping to take him for calc. Really all of the assignments are on mymathlab and there are videos to go with each homework assignment. I am terrible at math but this class helped so much. He is always accessible and ready to help. Quizzes can be taken up to three times and hw is unlimited.

All assignments, quizzes, and tests are completed through mymathlab. As someone who struggles with math I actually did not need to reach out to Mr. Guevara for the entire semester. Mymathlab is pretty straight-forward on how to use it and has decent video explanations.

Professor Guevara is the best professor I've ever had at Lakeview. I took his calc 2 class and I never once struggled because he teaches the material so well. As long as you complete the homework assignments and ask questions, you will do well.

I took Mr. Guevara's Precalculus class and he did an A+ job explaining the concepts. He never hesitated to work through a problem over again if someone was confused. The class was as easy as it could be - homework was online with unlimited attempts, and tests were paired with an extra credit review and a formula "cheat" sheet.

This professor is very clear with expectations .The dates of homework, quizzes and exams and posted immediately from syllabus and all assignments are due on Sundays at 11:59. The same day and time for due dates makes it easy to plan your schedule and meet deadlines. He was very fair and reasonable in grading and I highly recommend this professor.

At any point you need help understanding, just ask and the professor will be eager to help. Notes are often provided and he goes through examples in class. Before every quiz he allows everyone to ask him to explain a topic farther. All and all, Efrain is an impeccable teacher and i highly recommend him to any student taking calculus

Great Professor for Cal II. Clear and extremely relevant lectures. Decent amount of homework with unlimited attempts and never hesitated to help. Gave exam reviews which were extremely relevant. One of the best professors taken. Make sure to do all the homework and exam reviews and class will be easy.
