Professor Figueredo is an amazing teacher. Very kind and cares about his students. He's also very talkative and likes to discuss movies. I will say, be prepared to to essays for ENC1101. There are many, usually based on the reading or author. He also requires participation and attendance. But overall he is wonderful. Very much worth taking.

Mr. Figueredo is an impressive professor. He does assign 2 - 3 essays per week. It is difficult at first, but then later you get the hang of it. He is a tough grader, spoken from him himself. Except he truly makes the class. I always looked forward reaching the class for its hilarious and intriguing topics discussed. I always leave with a smile!

Amazing professor. Expects a lot but only because he wants to see the best in you. He cares about his students and is very approachable. Very knowledgeable about his subject and others. Would recommend him to all students interested in succeeding in college and their careers.

This is my second year taking his class (both enc1101 and 1102) and I absolutely loved it. He is a tough grader, but if you listen to his lectures and ask him a question you will notice a significant improvement in your writing. Figueredo himself is a true gem with entertaining life stories and experiences he's faced, giving everyone a life lesson!

Even though professor Figueredo assigned lots of work h was also an AMAZING teacher. I don't like reading at all but he gave me a little more confidence in doing so. He's an actually goofball and super nice, just get ready to write.

Profesor Figueredo is the best English professor ever !! He is so knowledgeable and kind and caring with all his students , I wish I can take him for all my classes not just English . He has definitely taught me to be a better writer and analyze better.

Great professor, makes class super exciting and is inspirational. Homework is a lot but I grading isnt hard. Probably my only class where everyone participates and interacts with each other. Took it 2 years in a row wish I can take it again

Had him for two consecutive semesters and Id take his class a third time if I could. Very funny guy, with interesting personal stories that he incorporates as a teaching method. Two page paper every week and a midterm and final paper but other than that his class is very enjoyable!

Professor Figueredo is truly an amazing professor. He makes ENC1101 enjoyable taking this course during the summer A semester be ready to work. Two essays a week for homework but again the course is condensed because of the short semester. He had a lecture on the holocaust that won me over.

He is great professors. He gives amazing lectures and he is very funny. I would recommend that you have him he is best.

He's a good teacher, and I can't say that for a lot. He uses humor to hook you into the class lectures, then reels you in with captivating story telling, he pretty much makes these essay's in the book memorable, rather than boring pieces of literature. If you're looking to take this class, do so. It'll be a bit difficult, but nonetheless worth it.

Professor Figueredo is definitely an acquired taste, you will either love him or hate him! When the semester began the grading of the first few essays was a bit harsh. However, as the weeks go by he won't be as harsh. He is very understanding when it comes to late work. And he is notorious for digressing and telling hilarious stories in class! :)

He was good

I was a bit intimidated at first, since it's been almost six years since i was last in school. After the first couple of classes, the professor really got my gears running and reminded of a lot that i had forgotten. As long as you read the stories and interpret it correctly while using the correct format you'll do just fine.

Took Figueredo for 1102 and hes just as awesome as he was in 1101. He takes everything thats fun about literature and puts his own twist on it. He manages to keep me awake while in class, and this is difficult considering I work full time and overtime six days a week. If he were to teach other classes , I would take him with my eyes closed.

Professor Figueredo isnt a professor hes a BROfessor he is very straight forward with the assignments. Helps you a lot. Try to get him to tell you all of his stories. Makes the class very enjoyable.

An awesome professor he gives quite a bit of homework but his class is enjoyable he explains everything and gets you to learn more and more about literature, would recommend it.

I read the things people have put on this teacher and to be honest I bet they are high school children. I love how no mentions that they barely speak �� In Class or bother to two sense when they didnt actually read the stories. The man knows if you read or not . Cry

Prof. Efrem Figueredo is a spectacular person. I took ENC 1102 in the Fall with him and I wholeheartedly recommend any of his classes. Even though the class is on line due to COVID, Prof. Figueredo brings the class to life by engaging the students in the lessons with his witty personality and vast knowledge. This class was truly priceless...

Professor Figueredo is incredibly passionate about everything Literature and writing. He brings texts to life with insightful comments and interpretations. Sadly, as a society, we are so detached from high-quality reading that most students do not engage. He is tough but fair when grading your papers, and you really have to submit quality work.

I have read other comments and can't understand those 13 bad ratings! It must be students that didn't do their work and are crying because they go bad grades or an F.... My experience with this Professor was fantastic. He is a great Professor kind, understanding, very human and extremely knowledgeable on a varity of subjects and topics. LOvE HIM

Professor Figueredo is great not only as a professor but as a person as well. He will really make you work and is very strict with classwork and homework but that is what we are here for to learn, we don't want to waste time or money and if you do stay home. If you really want to learn pick him I will recommend him for any class.

He is an excellent professor. You won't get good grades easily, you have to do your work or you fail, but he has been the only professor who has made me like attending grammar classes.
