What a ****. This guy is extremely knowledgeable, but his expertise is with criminal justice, not teaching.
what an a**--he tries to act so strict & hard & he just makes himself look like an idiot.this guy has knowledge but not when it comes to teaching.if ur 30 secs late he shuts the door & won't let u in--i mean who does that?!
Greene is a good teacher, theres no text book so the class is lectures but they are interesting and if you are interested in criminal justice its easy to participate in the discussions which is a big part of the grade
WORST teacher ever. doesnt know how to teacher. should never of been hired.
its an ok class, could be better if we didn't just write papers and i dont like him randomly taking attendance, especially on fridays since i tend to go home on the weekends. Oh well.
This class is awful. His lectures are boring and he makes you want to fall asleep. You write a few papers but nothing major. His attendance policy is random, sometimes he checks and sometimes he doesn't.
I don't know what the Criminal Justice department was thinking when they hired this guy. He is going to do nothing, but make people not what to pursue Criminology.
He is the worst teacher. He is rude to his students, grades extremly unfair, and has thing stupid idea about participation. Doesn't let people participate, yet fails them for not doing so. HE SUCKS! He knows his stuff, just doesn't know how to teach. His lectures are not put together well...DON'T TAKE HIM-- YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT DO WELL AT ALL!!!!!

This guy was horrible! He's unfair and rude and he insults his students. He makes no time to talk about grades and expects you to know everything when you come in. He doesn't teach anything remotely interesting and always repeats himself when he lectures. I seriously doubt the CRJU departments santity when hiring this guy.
excellent teacher. several short papers, overall very easy and humorous.
He is very helpful if you go talk to him. He let me borrow books from him and even reviewed my assignments if i finshed them early.
This class was extremely easy. The people who don't like him - were the ones who failed because they were made they had to show up to class. Short papers, usually very straight forward. No tests. Daily quizzes which are either common sense or actual questions from notes. If you give him answers every now and then your participation grade will be ok
great teacher, if u need help he will help you. i went to every class but slept through several of them, got an A. The ones who dont like him are the ones who didnt show up and failed. but geat teacher. easy class, easy tests great review, he gives you all the answers in the review.
Very smart man. Knows his stuff but grading is a bit hard sometimes. Do all the work and listen in class. Hes very interesting to listen to. Good teacher
THis Forensic Science class was awesome! If you did not understand something he would gladly review it again. Pop quizes every now and then, but only like 3 questions, and if you go to class you are good! GO TO CLASS and get a good grade! He notices!
hes not too bad i guess
He is awesome!! Take this classes if you can. He has an attendance policy in a way but class is so much fun you will want to go every day. Very understanding and always willing to help. Highly recommended!!!!!
Not bad...easy class but 8am blew. concepts and way he teaches=boring but easy...if ya gotta take 150 get him besides a general boring class he is a good/fun guy and has some pretty cool stories
LOVE THE CLASS...LOVE THE PROFESSOR....CRIMINAL JUSTICE IS MY LIFE!!!!!
He's a hard teacher, but it's all worth it. I learned alot!Plus he's really great to look at!!
I really liked his classes, very helpful and I agree he's hot!
Great professor and he's cute, I love this class!!!!!

He talks about the same thing for weeks and weeks. There are no quizes or tests. material isnt clearly laid out. definatly some guess work when it comes to what you need to have read or know. willing to help and you will need it.
First class of college, and I hated him. He freakin kicked us out for not answering a question and got pissed. As long as you particpate and read you'll be fine. He grades harsh on papers
Doesn't teach anything regrarding the mechanics of the criminal justice system, it's just all example after example with no concrete applications. Excellent people skills, terrible approach to the class.
Great teacher. Really wants to help you, not just in class but in life as well. Easy class, just come and listen and talk back with him. Will give extra credit, you just have to ask for it. He loves participation and he loves getting to know his students - so the more you talk, the more willing he will be to help you out. DEFINITELY TAKE HIM!!!!!!
not bad, boring and doesnt really teach anything related to crju for the first few weeks, tested on APA style...He is rather nice to look at! Just stay involved with class discussion and you will be fine.
Strict attendance policy and daily quizzes. Dr. Green comes off hard in his syllabus but is actually a softy.
Dr. Green is one of my favorite professors I've had. Yes he does have an attendance policy because you have to be there to take the daily quizzes. And the quizzes help in the end point wise. Just make sure you read the material before class. Easy class, speak up alot! I learned alot from him, and he does talk about the CRJU system!!!!
Dr. Green is by far the coolest professor I have had. He makes criminal justice the BEST major ever!!!
Dr. Green isn't easy and he expects a lot from his students; however, you will learn extremely valuable material in the world of criminal justice. Mandatory attendance and pop quizzes for every chapter.
OOO OUI! He is a great teacher to look at when you have a 9am! Besides that, he can be kinda boring, but he means well and tells you straight up what he expects. Do the reading, because the pop quizzes are questions you wont see while skimming through the book. Plus it should be interesting for CRJU majors. Also, refresh on APA writing, big on that!
He's a great professor who takes a genuine interest in his students. It may appear as though he is tough but it's in your best interest, so suck it up.
Awesome teacher.
Great Teacher. Seems really genuinely interested in what he's teaching and knows how to teach it. Funny. Sometimes i fall asleep but hey it's 9am. Always tells you about assignments and when they're due. Very personable, not intimidating like some professors. Very friendly and class is interesting.
This teacher kinda sucks. He is uninvolved with his students and is an overall bad teacher.
Challenging for being just an introductory class. Very strict on correct APA citation. Has a mandatory attendance policy. While he is a very engaging professor, his out of classs assignments are very difficult.
Dr. Green is an awesome professor. I really enjoyed his class.
Hes awesome. My class is kinda lame b/c no one talks but he tries to get ppl tlakin'. I gotta admire his effort. Hes a hard grader though, but I like him.
Not bad, but i didn't do so hot. you really have to participate in class for a good grade and that's what killed me. he has a lot of random reading assignments out of class then there is a quiz on it. it's not an easy A if that's what you're looking for. i didn't learn much..pretty much focuses on APA format the whole semester.
Very hard class. Tests aren't too bad; you just really have to know your stuff. Participation is almost mandatory to get a good grade. One final paper worth 200 points (strict APA) and a final presentation worth 100 points. Pop quizzes for every chapter. READ the textbook! Overall, Green is a great guy. Tough class though.
The main issue that I have with him is that he knows he can get away with anything. Other than liking to pick on the students i guess that makes him ok
This class is pretty easy. i heard he was really hard but it was a lie. He gives reading assignments that are a lil hard to understand and then gives quizes but if you read it you should be ok. on the apa stuff just make notes in ur book and u will be fine he kinda looks like Tom Cruise and hes nice
Good teacher. Pretty smart. Hes willing to help you and is pretty understanding. attendence is mandatory and theres a quiz everytime he assigns a reading. usually once a week. take him tho, good class.
Grades way harder then lets on, expects more from students then is mentioned anywhere in the syllabus. I would not recommend him, he is a nice guy but when it comes down to grading grades much harder for things that are not even wrong.
Really nice to look at, and can be an interesting teacher. Read the Chapters he assigns and you will be fine. Pay attention and ATTEND EVERY CLASS!!!!
nice and understading begining of semester is harder then gets easy after the APA work. he has good examples. definatly take his class
Cool guy and will help you in anyway possible if you go to his office, tests are ridiculously hard for an intro class though. Make sure you study the book hard!
Worst teacher I have ever had. He doesn't help students at all. His attendence and participation requirements are rediculous. You have to put in a lot of effort to get a decent grade. Don't use your phone during class, he will drop a letter grade everytime he sees it. He thinks hes cool but hes definitely not.
Very Hard class. Quizzes on every chapter, before you cover the chapter!. 4 tests, and an optional final. 25 Multiple choice and an essay on each. He doesnt even go over the tests after they have been graded. 10 page research paper and presentation that is almost half of your course grade. AVOID him if you can.
Awesome class! He makes you read, but the wildlife crime material is sooooo intresting. He explains wildlife management and crime. He makes you work for your grade, but he helps when you go see him.
Dr Green might just be the hardest professor as far as grading and expectations go. But i can promise you he is also one of the most helpful professors if you go to his office. He will do everything in his power to make sure you understand everything. So dont be afraid to go to his office. Oh yeah...DO THE READING..he will quiz you
The class is what you make it.If you don't read you will get failing grades on the exam. He may seem mean but he is not! he is extremely helpful if you show that you care about your grade he will let you redo assignments. I went from a D to a B in there from his help. GREAT TEACHER. you just have to work for it.
Nice guy with ridiculous policies. According to Green's philosophy, being a minute late means that you didn't get the information for that day and your grade should suffer for it. It's an intro course with a professor that thinks it's a 350 level course. I wish I would have never taken this elective.
Great professor. Gets mad if people dont speak up in class. overall good class
Dr. Green is a good teacher. Very straightforward and direct in his expectations and grading. His tests are hard but doable if you actually put the time in to study, and papers and presentations are reasonable but do require a good deal of effort. Definitely not a class to slack off in or not take seriously, but not outrageous by any means
Hard professor but if you read & attend class you should be fine. He's nice looking too. :-) PAY ATTENTION TO THE SYLLABUS!!!
Has a reputation as a harsh grader for good reason. However, he's very smart, and has a lot of great CRJU anecdotes and facts. Despite the fact that he tried to flunk me in the first class I took with him, I still hold him in high regard. Went back and took another class and I was squared away.
He is simply the worst kind of person. Having a doctorate does not entitle you to being a jerk and talking down to students. RU's reputation is bad enough as it is, having professors like him doesn't help.
Team Based Learning class had group readings every week and then class chapter reading the other half of the week. Basically a lot of reading. You cant just skim the chapters or readings because you have a quiz after everyone. He is super smart and I learned a ton but you have to put in the work. Tests are hard and im an a student but learned a lot
Dr. Green is definitely a tough professor, but he's by far one of my favorite ones in our department. Make sure you go to class and stay off your phone though.
He is a great person and nice guy but definitely a tough grader. Final paper instructions are pretty vague, good luck with that, I have heard of A students makes low 40's on it. Gave the presentation and got a B-, would hate to see what other people got. I would do my best just to avoid him if you can.
Literally my favorite professor at RU. He is a tough grader, but if you are willing to put in the effort, you will be fine. IRAT and TBL for each assigned reading. Test is fairly easy if you study well. Final paper is clear and easy to write. Presentation is based on paper and was smooth. I would definitely recommend him! Also, no phones!!!!!!!!!!!
He is defiantly funny and smart. Some people complained that the paper assignment was vague, but he laid out exactly what we were supossed to do in each section. I just followed the instructions and made a B on it. He's hard but i think fair. Plus he fails the lazy people on your team. Just don't take him if your lazy or have to use your pohne
One of the toughest professors I've ever had. Great guy, but he is a really tough professor. Lectures were about interesting material but got pretty tough to follow at times. Tests and Final Paper were extremely hard, due to that, I have to retake the class again. Be prepared to spend at least 5-6 hours a week doing work for this class. GOOD LUCK.
arrogant, not helpful, worse teacher I ever had.
Dr. Green is probably the best professor i have had yet so far at Radford University. As long as you take detailed notes in lectures and follow along with the reading quizzes you should have no problem achieving an A or B. Dr. Green is very intelligent ,sometimes can come across as arrogant but still none the less a very good teacher.
Dr. Green is a really great care. His classes are tough for sure, but just put the time and effort in and you'll enjoy it. If you visit him during office hours and communicate with him he is more than willing to help you succeed. I'll never forget one time in class when he brought out his guitar and sang Johnny Cash's song "A Boy Named Sue".
I've had Green for three classes now. He's a tough grader, but he can point you to the day he coevered it in class or the page from the readings where he got it from. You just have to know the material inside and out. Some people complain about how he acts to them. Heres what I figured out. Green doesn't deal well with stupid. Just work hard.
Literally the most awful teacher I have ever taken at radford university, grades things extremely tough for no reason at all. Gives four differnt exams all loosely based on random things said in class or on the pop quizzes that you have two of every week. Quizzes that are 6 questions long and he only gives 3 min to answer them.
Knocks off a whole entire letter grade if he sees any electronic device, gives quizzes that a six questions long based on 20 page articles and only gives 4 min to take them, takes days to respond to emails, shows no sympathy whatsoever if you go to his office hours and ask for help
Don't take him unless you want take a 3-4 mins quiz with 6 questions based on a 6-20 pages article in every class.
Avoid taking this professor!!!!!!
He automatically deducts a letter grade if you pull out your phone in class. You cannot procrastinate or BS a paper/essay and expect to get a good grade on it. He will grade papers pretty hard even if you send it to him for review first. Avoid taking Dr. Green if possible.
If everyone just showed up and could put away their phone for an hour then he would not have such bad reviews. He is an awesome teacher who cares and has entertaining lectures. His rules are rational. If you can properly APA cite and write a paper and listen then you will do well in his class. Hes a good teacher I learned so much about rural areas
Reading assignments every class. Grades extremely hard yet does not provide ANY notes on D2L.... its just the syllabus. Does not use PowerPoint during class so the only thing youll have to study for exams is the textbook... only 2 tests so basically half the book on 1 test (40 questions) and the other half on test 2. So basically you have no idea
I had a hard time with the material in general in this class but I made an effort to always do my best. When I met with him on numerous occasions for study tips or just some sort of insight, he gave me 0 help at all and basically said good luck. When asked if quiz questions come from the book, He said no, and proceeded to pull questions from it.
He hardly provides any feedback when it comes to the essays in the class. He also requires long sections of reading for small question quizzes. This class is offered by other professors and I highly suggest you take the class with them instead of him.
Never take this guy. So incredibly arrogant and annoying to be around. don't bother emailing him ab anything. he'll shrug his shoulders. He does not know how to teach well nor should he have a job at RU. He fails so many of his students and he's the hardest grader i've ever had. If you think you'll get an a in the class… good luck lol. don't take!!
He doesnt favor athletes so dont take this class if ur going to miss class, he takes points away every time u miss class, he doesnt respond to emails, he only goes over powerpoints for the ginal exan not over the information on the quizzes.
He doesn't work with students to improve grades, even after efforts to address past mistakes. Despite attending every class, I received a 0% on the participation grade because he claimed I didn't contribute enough in two short discussions and refused to work with me to improve the score. I don't recommend his course for a fairer experience.
The class is tough and could be more fair with grades.

This professor is the meanest person I have ever met. He does not understand that some people just are not good are public speaking. If you are not good at public speaking he will call you out in front of the class and make you so embarrassed you have to leave. Do NOT take any of his classes
He was an overall good teacher, if you take 370, be aware of a 10-page criminal theory paper in APA format and an 8-10 minute presentation. It sucks.
Strict technology policy and will not give you a warning on deducting a letter grade for it. Runs a tight ship. Good lectures. Weekly quizzes on the notes you take. Reading quizzes on PDFs provided. Doesn't need a textbook. Really like him, probably wouldn't take his class again just due to the amount of work. Interesting class though overall
Great but strict professor, but if you do all your work/readings on time you will have no problems. There is a presentation for the class, but if you take the time to prepare it is not hard. Take the time to talk with Dr. Green, he is a nice guy.
Allows extra credit opportunities
He runs a tight ship but knows what he's taking about sometimes rambles a bit with example stories or long videos. was not very flexible on extra time for final when im in 2 of his classes. they had the same deadline but was hesitant to give extension. was also very picky with grading my lost points were from not having indents but the writing good
Dr. Green is kind and professional, but the course was challenging. Instructions—especially for the final paper—were often unclear. The class meets once a week but has weekly quizzes and exams, making the workload heavy. I only missed one class and did all assignments yet still struggled. Clearer guidance would help.
He did not work much with students to improve grades.
