Its a pretty easy class, but you do have to study and do the modules...if you at least do that youll do good

great teacher

I've taken all chemistry classes with her and i have learned more than i could ever learn. Sadly i changed my major to nursing, but i know one day i will continue my studies in the feild of chemistry. I love chemistry because of this professor.

I think she is a very smart lady and teaches basic stuff. She isnt hard at all she just wants everybody to know theyre stuff, and not slack off like everybody. So if you actually wanna learn GET HER!=)

Hard subject, excellent teacher... you just need to do the work... one of Miami Dade's best teacher!!

Chemistry is not an easy subject but she is a very good teacher, really knows the material. Pay attention in class, review the assignments, and your notes and you should get a good grade.

okay ppl heres the thing about this lady,im going to be honest with yall, she knows her**** no doubt, shes a **** though no lye... she cares more about her looks then teaching chemistry... esp. her hair, she'll play with her hair like 50 times within an hour... some chm teacher huh... I passed with a C.. Better than nothing.. her test are hard !

She is really good. Her class is very clear and interesting but do not expect miracles you are going to take chemestry so you must study. She will help you any time at her office hs. =)Great Prof.

She knows her stuff and wants you to know it too. Hard class but her work book helps. If you don't miss class don't waste $$ on the text!

SHE IS A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR. YOU HAVE TO STUDY BUT YOU CAN GET AN "A" IN HER CLASS. SHE A BEAUTIFUL PERSON AND IS WILLING TO HELP YOU IN OFFICE HOURS.

This class first of all isn't an easy class, if you are not willing to study you will fail. She explains everything clearly. I do have to say she is a little crazy and has an attitude sometimes. Overall she isn't that bad like people put her to be.

Very good professor. Very helpful. However, you need to study to pass. She helped me a lot since I don't like chemistry, but I enjoyed her class, also she's very cute...

She is an amazing teacher. She gets you interested in the subject and explains the subject matter in a way that even a five year old would understand. She makes chemistry interesting. You'd love her class. If i had to take chem again i would definitely pick her as my teacher. Though she's difficult, she actually teaches and you'll actually learn.

I took this course over the summer. It was fast paced, but she really helps you to understand. She explains everything in normal terms and puts it into different perspectives by comparing it to everyday life. You don't need the text book, but you do need the study guide. Review that and you're set. I'd take her again if I could.

She is a very good teacher. I took 1045 and 1033 with her and she explains very good, she gives you extra credits to better your grade. She is very nice when you go to her office with questions. she is willing to help students all the time

Loves using analogies 2 explain difficult concepts in a simple way. Sumtimes gets impatient w/students who don't try/prepare 4 class. Very helpful, especially when u take questions 2 her office. Does best to help students raise their grades by tweaking syllabus and giving EC. U don't need the textbook, so stay current in the Study Guide and ur set!

i had johann for chm 1045 and got an A and i highly recommend this teacher for 1046 as well. she's very helpful, always available during office hours if you need anything and her test might be a little challenging but as long as you do your share of studyin you should get an A.

you have to be in class in order to do the work! she doesn't care at all if you're in class, nothing against you, but to your advantage you should go to better understand the work. no homework, just like 4 tests and a final. I would take her again. she is also very open to whatever you need!

This lady was difficult. The only funny part was she was contantly checking herself out, touching her hair. She was re-writing the book we were using at the time I took it, she passed out a couple revised chapters and we used that instead of the actual book. She is tuff, but do-able.

This wonderful lady is a very resorceful teacher. She know what she is talking abou and always prepared for class. Her class is easy if u study and pay attention to the modules PLESE GET THE MODULES u will never be lost once u have it. She is a very straight up professor u have to work hard for your grades and she is always available during office

Good teacher, she really knows her stuff! If you sit in the front I don't tihnk you should have a problem. If you do she has a lot of ffice hours. She does move a little fast, but if you do what your supposed to do I don't think it will be a problem. I got a B and I don't know how!

This is one of the most helpful teachers I know. Explains everything very clearly. Take notes and listen and you will be ok. Always avaliable for office hours if further help is needed.

I took this professor for CHM1033 this past summer. She is by far one of the best professors I have had in Miami Dade. She really wants you to do well and to learn. She is not an easy teacher because she wants you to study so that you can actually LEARN. My advice to everyone is to read the module from her book before going to class.

Chemistry is hard. And she understands how students feel towards chem. so she teaches to make it as easy as possible, if you study you will pass her class. The chem book i got to use was written by her and all her notes. so that is helpful

I took her for both the lab and the lecture. She is a great teacher, she is extremely helpful if she knows that you're trying. Go to class and you will understand. The study guide she made is perfect and is super easy to understand. Study and o the assignments and you will pass

I think she is a very good professor and a very nice person. She has an additute, so she may seem intimitading, but she's not. SHe just really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She also has no patience for those who slack off and do not give a damn about their responsibilities. She is one of the best professors @ dade i think.

In the beginning of this semester, i though she was a real grade A ****, but as the semester proceeds, i realized that she just pushes her students so they can be the best they can be. Best Chemistry teacher @ dade 4 real! Yes, she is intimidating at first, but give her a chance. She's willing to help those who help themselves

This professor is intimidating at first but as the summer progresses she becomes one of the most helpful professors at miami dade. She is so extremely helpful and teaches you easy eays to remember very hard things. The subject itself is a little hard but with her help you will do great. Adequate teacher. Do your homework problems and examples in the book consistently. You can pass with an A if you do this. Don't wait until the last minute and fall behind. She has no tolerance for people who don't put in the work.

This teacher is very helpful if you use her office hours. She gives you a chance to replace 1 test grade with web-assign (100%) plus she'll count the final as 1 or 2 test grades to help out your average. If you have a question, go see her during her office hours and she'll be more than happy to help you out. I received an A in this course.

She is a great professor. You must attend class in order to pass. Read, make exercices and examples and do the modules because her tests are very similar. She is everything you would want in a professor but the class is hard though but she explains good.

Dr. Johann is a great professor, very honest and to the point. If you don't understand something, go to her office hours. She will explain it clearly. There are only so many weeks to complete 15 modules, expect a fast pace. I took it in summer, but still did great. She can seem rude, but she's really not. She is just disconnected with the students.

EXCELLENT teacher! makes sure everyone understands. Make sure you do the modules and try to stay ahead of her so you can ask your questions in class, she has no problem with it.. and study of course and you WILL do well..

No doubt this class is hard, but if you dedicate yourself by doing the homework, going to lecture, and asking for help when you need it, you?ll do fine! Low tolerance for lazy people. Do the Work!!! She's REALLY GOOD, explains well and very helpful when you need it.

Make sure to study a lot from modules and understand the material. Also, after tests go to her office hours for review. She is really helpful and has a positive attitude as long as you show her you are putting effort in her class. Make sure to take it Tuesday/Thursday to have more time on tests.

If you study from the modules(no need to buy the text book), you will ace her class with little effort. She explains everything very well, and she reviews before the test. You'll either have to be too stupid or too lazy to no get a good grade on her class.

At first I was super scared because I read the reviews and I'm not good at chem. However, I think you guys are wrong.She does help a lot during office hours and explain every single detail.You just need to show her that you are interested on getting good grades.I did all the exercices from the modules and got A's on all the exams. Study hard!

Awesome professor! Yes you do need to study! Stop being lazy and study. Yes sometimes she can snap but she does not have time for stupid questions. Study and you will get an A.

Is a good professor. If you attend class on a regular basis and understand everything she goes over you should do good on all the tests. Does not try to trick you at all and will give you an idea of what may be on the tests. The important thing is to devote time into studying the material. Passed this course with an A

THIS PROFESSOR IS AWESOME. many people do not like her because she is REAL. i've had the honor to have her for 3 semesters straight so far and i hope to finish both my organics with her. she is the best chemistry teacher out there. she knows her stuff and if u show interest she will really re teach everything to you. chem is great with her.

SHE IS A GOOD PROFESSOR , SHE GIVES A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT, HER TESTS ARE PIECE OF CAKE AND EXPLAINS EVERYTHING AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED. HER TESTS ARE PIECE OF CAKE.

This is a hard class and covers way to much material in a short period of time! Prof. Johann is nice enough and gives a decent lecture but does not have much ancillary materials nor does she give any review materials. Bottom line, be prepared to put in a lot of study time, don't miss the lectures and try to find study partners.

I thought this proffessor was great. She explains everything well and in simple terms. No need for expensive textbooks. Her book is perfect, but you do need to attend her class, pay attention, and take notes. She made the class eassy and ejoyable for a chemistry class.

This professor is insightful. Her tests are a bit hard but there is always the possibility of getting a few points more if you go to her office and discuss your questions on the test. all in all she is a good professor for intro chem, but be prepared to study your ass off if your background in chemistry isn't too good.

This class requires an exessive amount of study time unless you have a decent chem foundation. She is by the book and does not give extra credit except for 10 points for doing all of the homework. No chance to replace a low scoring test, no handouts or test review sheets are given. Lectures are good but that's it. There are more fair teachers!

Tough but thorough. Takes time 2 review before exams & even made effort provide an extra day of review for midterms. Provides plenty of office hours for help outside of class. Her lectures keep u up w/lab class, otherwise u r lost. Listens 2 student suggestions & began emailing class notes. Learned a lot. Must study!!

This teacher goes way to fast and expects you to learn everything on your own. Other sudents in Prof. Papas's class got better grades overall and received alot more help. Prof. Johann knows her stuff but she is tough and makes the class harder than it needs to be. The text book is awfull (invest in timberlake)and get the handouts from Prof. Papas.

Very nice woman! She wrote the text book. However, I found the textbook to be watery. Her lectures are confusing because she writes them as she goes on a projection. Not my most rewarding science class.

SHE IS AWESOME!!! I was so afraid of chemistry but thanks to her I love it!! She is so clear with how she explains things... Shes pretty fast you need to keep up it's not an easy A you need to study so stop trying to be lazy!! She's awesome I strongly recommend her if you really want to learn the material and your willing to put your time and effort in the class... I would take her again... Test are exactly what she covers in class. Take her Shes GREAT!!

Took this professor for chm1025 and 1045 and I got an A in both classes. I failed chemistry in high school. This professor explains very well and really prepares you for the exam. There is for exams and a final which is cumulative.

She was fine, I mean its really the kind of class you can do well in without coming to class, sometimes she can be confusing but shes really pretty decent. Tests aren't bad.

Shes really nice.. Studied my butt off but never got higher than an 80. Her test are complicated. If you do modules and study, you can pass with a C or better

Good professor if you study and pay attention in class. I wish I went for her office hours. I passed her class with a C by studying my butt off. Her class is fun if you study. She's great if you put in the effort. If you are lazy and just want an easy grade, you won't find it here.

It's a tough class, but Dr. Johann is awesome! She's got a great sarcastic sense of humor. She is helpful and if you're willing to put in some effort, she is definately willing to teach. She has more office hours than any other professor I've ever had. Her tests are straight forward...if you can do the homework, you will do well on the tests.

awesome teacher... but chm is still pretty tough... if you're NOT having issues with the hw then u'll do ok on the tests, but i still recommend some tutoring before each just in case

I took 1046 with her. She is hot, in a smart way. She literally knows her stuff, and will blow you up of you are just a laid back lazy student. Got an A easy just do the work

Super easy. I got an A and all I did was do the homeworks in her book. I barely showed up to class and fell asleep when I did. She give different color test but most of the questions are the same just in different order. DO THE HOMEWORK! Impossible not to get an A if you understand it

if people dont pass her class is because they dont do anything in order to pass. it is easy and she explains very nicely in a way that everybody can understand...she is nice and her test are about everything in the book...very motivating and intelligent person.

She is a great professor. She explains EVERYTHING and the test are similar to the HW. If you don't understand during lecture, see her during her office hours and she'll be more than happy to explain again. I have Zero prior knowledge in chem and so far I have a B.

She made the class so easy... If you want an easy A, take the class with this lady!

She is a great professor! Everyone should take her. Shes always available for office hours! Shes very helpful!!! I passed with A chemistry is hard only if you dont study! Hard work pays off in the end! Be willing to study alot. Especislly if your bio or chem major. Good luck! And take her!!!

If you study you will pass. Simple as that, professor Johann is an amazing chemistry teacher she really knows what shes talking about and knows how to explain it so that everyone can understand. Shes not the sweetest but you're not taking her class to be friends. She also gives an extra credit opportunity which comes in handy at the end.

She knows her stuff. One module per week (16 modules). Do ALL assignments if you want extra credit. 4 exams. Optional final exam. Goes kinda quick but its easy to understand. Study study study! Chem isnt my strongest sub but i passed with an A! Take her. Shes good.

She is a great professor. She really knows her stuff and can teach it well. She will go over everything again and again until everyone understands. She is always helpful during office hours and before/after class. This is a difficult class and not everyone, even if you study, can pass. You have to put a lot of time and effort but it's doable.

Horrible! She makes chemistry seem so complicated and her teaching style is boring. She uses the over head projector to write notes and sometimes her notes get messy and it's hard to follow. If a student asks a question, she answers back with sarcasm!! Overall, she's boring..there are better chemistry professors at MDC. She's not one of them.

Chemistry itself is a very tedious subject, dont listen to the negative comments, take this teacher she knows exactly what she is talking about. yes she is sarcastic but she will explain it untill it is drilled in your head! as long as you study and never miss a class you will be fine. i strongly recommend the chm tutoring lab, Marlon, is great!

Don't mess with the Johann. You have to do the HW to keep up with her prior to going to her class. She's a good teacher though, Chemistry just sucks. She gives a HUGE Extra cresit opportunity which boosts you up a letter grade! I recommend.

I don't know why these ratings are so negative. She's a great professor. Her lectures can be boring but she explains well. Do all the work when you get home! Or else you'll forget! Overall if you take her you'll like her.

she's a dedicated teacher, teaches the subject very well. kind of mean but only because she knows it all -.- read the chapter before class & you'll do fine. her test are vry easy & based off the study guides. assignments in the textbook help A LOT. practice, practice practice.

THE BEST TEACHER EVERRRRR!!! I HATED CHEMISTRY BUT BECAUSE OF HER I LOVE IT! WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS TO STUDY. READ AND STUDY BEFORE EVERY CLASS IF POSSIBLE, IF NOT DO AS I DID, STUDY 2 OR 3 HOURS AFTER EACH CLASS AND YOU WILL PASS WITH AN A. SCHOOL IS FOR THAT TO STUDY NOT TO NOT DO ANYTHING AND EXPECT TO GET A's.

OH AND USE HER WEBSITE TO STUDY. SHE HAS ASSIGNMENTS THERE THAT ARE VERY USEFUL AND HELP YOU A LOT,AS WELL AS THE ONES IN EVERY MODULE. PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.
