She is a very sweet and helpful teacher. You mostly just write essays in her classes-at least six. Then you have your grammar and CLAST essay finals. She doesn't give you a lot of extrenuous work from the book, so it gives you more time to focus on your essays. I thought she was a cool teacher. I took her for both ENC1101 and ENC1102

She is eays and 'stupid' all you mostly do in that class is watch movies, but she is HUGE about attendance.

I liked Prof. Murhpy, she was kind and understanding when I needed her help. I missed class a few times, and she was very helpful in getting me caught up the next week. I dont believe that her class was a breeze, as she wants a ton of writing. I dont recommend that you abuse the system with this teacher, she follows the rules.

She's great. I recommend her to everyone, both english lovers and haters. I hate English, but she's not hard and she makes it interesting (bearable). She'll answer questions and help you out when you ask. Just make sure you cite like she shows you, not like you were taught. Every prof. seems to want it a diff. way.

Was very scared going into this class considering it is my worst subject but she did a really good job at teaching grammar and sentence structure. Just pay attention, she does a lot of group work so it is not a typically boring routine type class, highly reccomend.

I thought she was a good prof. Gave reasonable homework. I thought it was strange when she wants us to read out loud to someone in the class. She's not very good with computers or projectors, but oh well. She's more easy than hard and I can tell she likes to play movies in her class. Some of 'em were pretty good. Oh and tests were kind of easy!

I'm horrible when it comes to English. But I still managed to pass with an 'A'. Her papers are easy if you just follow the format and to the prompt right. It was a breeze...

After taking her for two semesters, I've concluded that her teaching style is a bit laid-back and somewhat easy. Mrs. Murphy is not very good with computers and I've had to correct her grammar and spelling more than once, but she's a nice lady if you talk to her. Just be sure to turn your assignments into the dropbox on PAL or you'll fail.

I really enjoyed this class. It was easy for me. She just wants you to participate. The exams are super easy too. She gives you a power point study guide and the questions are exactly the same on the test.

Professor Murphy was great, her class is easy peasy. She is a tad bit weird but I'm not sure why her rating on here is so bad. She's really nice and extremely lenient on assignments. Her study guides were exactly like the tests. With minimal effort I ended up with a B in her class and learned a lot. Would def take her again.

She was the best teacher I've had in English. As long as you do your work you will make a good grade. She does not grade hard. But you need to be prepared to watch alto of movies. Love her class

She's a nice person but sometimes she can be rude. Her class is very easy because you will be watching movies all the time. It felt like kindergarden at times, so easy! If you want to be intellectually challenged, this is not the class for you. I was bored to tears.

She was awesome! Her class was super easy. You watch a whole bunch of movies and the study guides are identical to the actual test. There are only three projects you have to do and they are with a group. She doesnt grade hard either.

This class was extremely easy. She gave these assignments that just did not make sense at all, but she would give you an A as long as you "Tried your best". If you want an easy A with no work involved this is your class.

I hate literature. I hate history. Who cares about Shakespeare... but I loved Murphy's class! Group projects were always interested. Movies were boring. Tests are easy.

I took Professor Murphy for both Comp 1 and Lit. She is really good, and straight-forward. If you need help, just ask and she'll help you. Many people rate her low and I don't know why, but if you just do the work you'll get an A. Plus, there were no tests in either class. Take Honors Lit for optional projects rather than papers.

Professor Murphy is very nice and fair. She follows the syllabus to a tee, Tests are easy just go on PAL and print the study guide , taking notes is not necessary , Tests come from study guide and are worded exactly the same. There are 2-3 group projects choose your group wisely. Lots of films to watch. Inclass writting too. EASY class!

Easiest class I've ever taken. I haven't put much work in this class and I got a 97. Expect group projects. There are 3 tests, but she has study guides and it is EXACTLY the same. She even gives you the answers!! I wouldn't take this class for anything other than Lit. If you're taking ENC1101 or 1102 you really should get a teacher that will TEACH

Best teacher I took. She gives us a number so we can text her to ask for help at anytime. The workload is not too heavy and she has us break up into groups a lot in the class. She is knowledgeable and helpful with the required research paper which was challenging. She related well with the students and the class was fun.

Ms. Murphy is an amazing professor, she follows the syllabus exactly as outlined and all her work is pretty spread out so you don't feel overwhelmed. All her quizzes is word-by-word from the study guide she gives you. Easy A. Great professor. Also, she gives out a ton of extra credit! I wish she taught ENC 1102 :(

Great professor. Follow the directions she gives you, cite correctly, and pay attention and you will earn an A. Before you take the tests, look at the study guide. They are the same questions and they have the answers. She does fall asleep in class sometimes, but that is always fun.

She's one of the best English professors I've ever had she give super easy work only essays were about 2 pages and isn't a hard grader I would definitely recommend her if you want an easy A and a laid back professor

Professor Murphy is one of the best college professors I've had so far I wish she taught ENC1102 but I definitely will be taking her for Literature

Professor Murphy is the best Comp teacher at Polk state I recommend her to anyone and everyone. She barely gives out any work and will work with you so that you understand how to improve your writing. Professor Murphy should be the only teacher at Polk state to teach any ENC class. Give this lady a raise !

Eileen is truly awesome and really laid back! ENC1101 in her class consists of learning how to write different forms of short writing and then taking a quiz on the material learned as well as actually writing something of your own using what you learned. Not hard at all and really fun!

Super easy class, just don't skip and you'll be fine. Very understanding, won't penalize for a missed class, and the only book you really need for lit is a copy of Hamlet. She has three multiple choice tests, all with exact study guides, and one in-class essay test at the end.

Murphy is by far the best online class I've taken. Everything is listed on canvas and easy to access. Each week there are assignments due which are literally a discussion and a 10min quiz. Very understanding and responds to any of your concerns quickly. I definitely recommend taking her online.

I took Professor Murphy in the Spring. She is very nice, gives extra credit and responds to emails in a timely manner. I would definitely take her. Some of the assignments are corny but an easy A.

I took her online over the summer. She was so nice! As long as you do the assignments and put in effort, youll do well. There was an extra credit opportunity, too, which helped bump up a quiz grade I hadnt done well on. She was very quick to answer e-mails and correct any mistakes. We read Hamlet and a lot of short stories and I learned a lot!

I took comp 1 online, and for the most part the class wasn't difficult. The work was minimal, but the grading was a bit unclear, and random. If you ask her to send you what errors you made on an assignment, she gladly will. Once you learn the style she wants, it's an easy class.

English has never been my best subject. I got a B in the class and did not purchase the required textbook or watched/read all the things she had in the modules. I only did the work that was required but she gets links to many handouts and videos that do help however I didn't good advantage of that. Prof .Murphy is very easy going.

This class wasn't hard but Prof Murphy was unclear on a few assignments. Even though a couple of the blog posts were confusing, she was available over text to answer any questions I had and tried her best to help me understand. She can be a tough grader, especially on blog posts. Overall, the class was easy and I would take her again.

She made me enjoy my literature class. Each week there's short stories and videos and discussion posts to do. Theres two paper due the whole semester, 3 exams bases on the powerpoints, and you read Hamlet. Highly recommend.

Professor Murphy was awesome. She started from the ground up with work assignments so if youhaven't been to school in a while this will be the best professor to take. There is extra credit, work exercises, a few quizzes, 1- 5 paragraph essay and 1 reseach essay. If I have to take ENC1102 I will definitly have Professor Murphy as my teacher.

The BEST English professor ever! This was my first semester in college and I was honestly intimidated by the idea of taking English Composition online, but Professor Murphy truly made this class simple and enjoyable. She gives many extra credit opportunities throughout the semester and truly cares about your success. I highly recommend :)

she gives a lot of extra credit. she lets you turn in missing assignments and she is so nice!!! blog post are easy, due every week 2 are 250-500 words, mos5have no limit. a lot of reading assignments but i never read any of them only some. 3 test that come from the readings(guessed on the test but they were open notes and somewhat easy)

Be prepared to read! Make sure you're getting tutoring for your writing assignments or simply ask her to comment on your work before you turn it in. Study for the exams-- please. This class is not difficult, but it is important that you put in effort into your work because she can see right through it. All in all, you can pass this class!

She was a good professor. She does online meetings, she cares about what you are doing with your writing.

I enjoyed Prof Murphy's class. She gives good feedback and is always available to answer questions or to meet if you are still having difficulty. I took this as an online course but there is a lot of class participation in the discussion forum. Prof Murphy really helped me hone my writing skills and I would take her again.

She is truly an amazing teacher, and she furthered my knowledge on grammar basics that other teachers failed to care about.

Great professor other than the fact she grades so critically. Got a C on my final even though I stayed on topic and did everything required, and she even told me my topic was great. She communicates effectively and wants to further her students education truly. The work is online while the physical class is lecture over what you need to know for it

Took the class for online dual enrollment. She gave extra time for assignments, and she was happy to help if needed. She also gave plenty of digestible resources. If you can read PowerPoint slides and watch videos, you'll be able to understand her class content fine and learn how to write college level essays with grammatical consistency.
