Really easy, and she is really cool, if you dont plan on getting to advanced in spanish then this is the teach for you.

Interesting, sometimes hard but helpful. Learned a lot.

one of the best teachers i've had.. she is extremely helpful and relatively clear. talk to her after class and she'll explain a lot. she's a great person as well as a great professor.

If you plan on majoring in Spanish, do not take her. If you just want to get Spanish out of the way, she is the teacher for you! So freakin easy!

She is the best teacher I think I have ever had... I LOVE HER!!! Her classes are fun to attend, because she has lots of activities. She is such a sweet lady who will help you the best she can, even on the tests. You're stupid if you don't take her.

She is the bomb. but don't piss her off, or she'll give you a semi harder test. no homework, except workbook, no essays, no projects, test are easy.

She's so dinero and she doesnt even know it. She makes you pass the class and grades you on improvement not pure ablility.

Professor Sheilds is probably one of the easiest teachers i have ever had in my life. I havent had spanish in a year and got an A in the class with EASE. There is homework but she doesnt grade it hard. The tests are short and fairly easy. Trust me i am not a stellar spanish student and i got an A with out studying or worrying about the class AT ALL

I have had her for all 4 semesters of spanish and i swear all you have to do is come to class and do the work, dont even have to put in much effort just turn in something and you will come out with a decent grade

She is nice. The class is pretty easy as long as you participate and speak in spanish. The only homework we really have is to study for quizes and tests and to do Quia. Quia can be annoying but its not that bad. She gives you extra points sometimes for participating in class and if you do flash cards.

She is one of the nicest teachers I have ever had. She will do anything to help you, just don't abuse it. Be nice, and do your work, and she'll love u, and u will def. love her. I'd take her for any class.

Sra. is awesome!!! She loves spanish and makes sure everyone participates in class. You are well prepared for tests and the only homework is online which she grades for completion. She has mandatory attendance though but understands if you tell her before hand. Easy grader and explains all new concepts in english which helps a lot!! Take her!

She's an awesome teacher! There is tons of work but for the most part it is fun and not too difficult. She's a very easy grader, if you do the work you will get an A. She's funny and tries to get everyone invloved.I failed 2 of 3 tests but got extra credit for going the language lab and ended up with an A! Take her!!!

You will love Mrs Shields. She is one of the sweetest teachers I have yet to encounter at CofC. I don't get Spanish, at all, but she is extremely helpful and wants you to learn. I hate it that she only teaches 101 & 102, I would take her for everyone if I could. Take her, you'll be glad you did!

Shields is one of the best professors I've ever had at the College of Charleston. It is unfortunate that she only teaches during the evening, because I would definately take her again, but I don't feel like getting out of school after 6:30PM. However, if you have a flexible schedule and are willing to put up with an evening class I highly recomme

Took her for 201 and 102. Noone is better than Profesora Shields. Most kind hearted soul in the school. Always ready to help. She teaches you well enough so that you can make a good grade. I don't see how people could do poorly. If you do bad, it's your fault, she is always crystal clear. Exams are not difficult. Material is so fun!

Mrs. Shields is an angel! She is my favorite professor at CofC! Her class is very easy, and she is extremely helpful. She uses great notes and lectures out of the book, so it is readily helpful anytime. She is seriously the sweetest woman ever. She truly cares about her students. The only downside may be that she only teaches at night! Take her!

She is such a nice professor and teaches at a rather slow pace which is nice for learning spanish at the beginning level. Quizzes are so easy its just remembering to do the online homework that's the hardest part. Highly recommend this teacher!

Such a great lady! Most people take her for as long as they can, she's such a great teacher (coming from someone who doesn't understand Spanish at all). There's a lot of participation for every class and she'll call everyone so class goes by faster and you get a lot of extra credit. Easy participation. The tests were the hardest part, but easy!

Mrs. Shields was BY FAR the most amazing Spanish professor I have ever had! I am typically a C student (and BAD at Spanish-still made a B) but she grades easier than most, always willing to help, and she's very chill. Participation matters, speaking up adds points to your tests. She's a great teacher that I would certainly take again if I could!

Señora Shields is the best spanish teacher I've ever had. She adorable and extremely caring about her students and their success in her class. She makes an effort to learn everyones name and makes sure everyone participates in class everyday. I was nervous about speaking in the class but she made it very comfortable.

Prof Shields is a great teacher for this course. I hope she teaches Spanish 202 next semester. I definitely enjoyed her, and I would most definitely retake her.

My favorite language professor so far! Professor Shields is so personable and helpful. Homework is through VHL and the textbook is needed. There is both written tests (VHL) and speaking tests, but she gives you all the questions and answers beforehand to study. Flip grids as well She also gives extra points for participation and volunteering.

If you get the chance, TAKE HER! She is the most caring prof I have ever had. She genuinely loves her students and never makes you feel dumb if you don't know the answer. The homework is frequent but not too difficult. Tests are easy and you get all of the speaking questions ahead of time. Long story short, she's the best.

Professor Shields is a great Spanish teacher. She really cares about student's learning rather than acing the course. We had Quizzes, Written Tests, and Speaking Tests for each unit. Sometimes difficult but if you study hard you can pass the class!

I loved Professor Shields. As long as you went to class you can easily pass. There are easy speaking tests that count for half of the test grade so if you have test anxiety these should help. She is such a kind lady.

I absolutely loved her. I haven't taken Spanish since junior year of hs and I didn't think I would do well in this class but she made it super easy. I felt very prepared for every test. I was worried abt taking SPAN 202 after not having taken a Spanish class in years, but Professor Shields was amazing. She offers extra credit and the more you participate in class, the better. For the speaking tests, she tells you what questions she's asking, so you have lots of time to prepare.
