If you want a great speech teacher get into one of Lee's classes. Stick with it. It's worth it!

Elaine is a funny and witty teacher, who I would recommend to anyone who wants to have a fun time in Speech-10. Her group project took way to long and the response essays were boring, but overall I definitely recommend her.

She is really funny, intelligent, very helpful. If you like speech and/or really want to improve your communication skills then this is the right class. Only one boaring thing is Response papers and group project takes long. I definitely recommend her.

Ms. Lee grades fairly and to me, quite easily. But don't worry for your group project. Even your group member tries to screw things up it won't cause a big change in your grade. She looks at your personal effort.

Funny and entertaining. She tries to make the class enjoyable for all. I felt her orginization isn't always 100% but it's bearable. She's a teacher that enjoys her subject and her students very much. If you gotta take speech take it with Lee.

i didn't like her class at all. it's pretty easy but you would have to listen to her humor.. which i didn't like. she's not very organized either.

I Recomend this class to anyone. This class is realy easy, the teacher has a fiery personality but she does not let that get in the way of helping her students. Just don't be late, smile and nod during lectures and don't ask about her hair! j/k

If you're looking for a structured class with lectures, tests, and quizzes then this ISN'T the teacher to take. But if want an easy grade and a fun teacher then take this class! Note: She isn't Asian. She's white. Just in case you're wondering....

Everyone has to take speech and this is the class to take. There aren't any quizzes or tests, you only have to do 3 speeches, and they aren't even hard. You basically get up there and talk about yourself. There isn't a final either!

A very skilled teacher, an excellent communicator, and a really friendly person. If you try your communication skills will improve.

Elaine is absolutley the best! It never even crossed my mind to miss her class. She makes public speaking so fun and if you're scared as I was, she's great at encouraging you. If you haven't taken Speech, you MUST take Elaine!

One of the coolest teaches I have had thus far. Very helpful in improving your speech. For the first speech, she writes up a page on how you did and how u can improve. She is very dedicated. Take her class!

Mrs lee is such an awesome teacher! I used to hate public speaking but she helped me get over my fear. everybody from my class got out of there saying "shes is such a nice lady and a very good professor!" I dont mind taking her class again =)!!

I went into this with poor expectations except a willingness to dive in. I hate touchy- feely West Coast crap and thought this was more of the same. This class is not obvious in what you learn, but do it properly and you can get a hell of a lot out of it. The text is useful for the projects only.

I just wanted to get through speech, since its my most dreaded subject, but she made the class fun and enjoyable. NO FINAL NO MIDTERMS!! Awesome. 2 Individual Speeches (ON YOURSELF) and 1 Group Presentation (she chooses the groups). And a couple of pop quizzes, one of them even allowed you to work in a team of 2 :). Thanks Mrs. Lee.

Although she is a very easy teacher I still ended with a "C" ironically she like my speeches well whatever just remember that being their coming in on time are all things that count. They are participation points and well I still think I deserve a better grade but I guess I should have the syllabus a little closer

She is easy.No final and midterm.There are quizzes sometimes but everyone get full marks!She is very interesting and she always put you to work in groups that make you never feel bored.Be sure you dont miss any classes!becasue every homeworks count and so do the quizzes!I am sure you will get an A if you follow her!

she's pretty funny. she eases you into public speaking by having you present in small groups a few times before you talk in front of the class. she helps calm you down if youre anxious and her instructions are really clear.

This is probably one of the best classes I've ever taken. Elaine gives you so much personal attention and goes out of her way to help you, and even gives everyone her cell # so you can reach her at anytime. I learned so much about myself after this class and also got to know everyone in the class really well, which is a first. TAKE HER CLASS.

All I can say about this class is that you'll get back exactly what you put into it. Assignments and Quizzes are very simple, you can waste your time, get nothing out of it and still get an A, or you can do what she advices and make it an extraordinary experience that can change your life. Take Elaine's class, she's the best.

So much fun is in the class, i luved comng to the class and having to take it, i think therewas only 2 quizzes all quarter and she tells u in advance but only one thing which ever of the 3 topics for your speech is your best use second. (2 solo speeches) But she will help you whenever you need the help so defently go to her office hours

She is the best! I hate speaking publicly almost as much as I hate math, but she made the class fun and bearable, she has a great personality and is very willing to help you. I did not think the homework was overwhelming, but don't expect to slack and get a good grade. I highly recommend taking her for speech :D

Gdaaamnn this class was easy! Trust me this class is all about yourself. 2 Speechs revolve around you and there is one informative GROUP presentation. Only thing is you gotta go to every class session or else you miss out on a lot. PLUS: she is hot! kinda thick but more to love!

Very good teacher. Makes things easy to understand, gives you plenty of time for assignments, only 2 individual speeches and one group project that you have about a month to complete. No Tests, Midterms or Final.

People are really stupid on this site.If you don't like Elaine,then you are either really lazy and won't like any teacher,or you are just plain mean.She is one of the best teachers I've had.She actually wants you to learn and become a better communicator.The only complaint I have is why we read the textbook?We dont really do anything with it.

Great teacher! The only teacher I've had at de anza that took the time to get to know me and my educational goals, and took the time to offer advice. Easy and enjoyable class. She eases you into the speeches so they aren't as intimidating. Don't really use the book. we had a couple of "pop quizzes" which she dropped major hints we would be having.

Take this class N-O-W! Elaine's speech 10 class changed my life. I went from being paniced presenting to actually enjoying giving speeches and made tons of friends in the class. The class is focused on being comfortable speaking- class and to others-none of that crazy debate stuff! I knew if I missed class, I would miss something special.

Got a B however felt I deserved an A. Judges people based on comfort level of speaking in public. If you're confident she'll grade you a lot harder. Others that did not participate nor did all the assignments got A's. She wrongly graded one of my speeches however it was videotaped so I had solid evidence, gave me attitude when I pointed it out.

loved the class! she's wonderful. some quizzes based on text book BOLDED stuff or end of chapter review.. two big speeches and a few mini group speeches. REMEMBER HER LIFE SKILL STUFF!

To the person below me, first of all, I never heard her once talk about her partner, second, who cares? Elaine was great, I missed a couple quizzes, my fault if I get what I deserve, but every class was enlightening. She has a great heart, class is not easy, but that's what most people think its going to be, she just wants you to learn.

She is really funny, sometimes I have to bit my tongue to not laugh out loud like crazy. Speech may discourage a lot of people, but this is not that bad. Easy class, and very helpful.

At first I was afraid to take the class after I learned from the Syllabus that I was going to present 3 speeches! However after going to the class I picked up some skills and also my peers were on the same boat as me so we all helped each other to feel confident on doing a speech.Mrs. Lee she is a great instructor

She's listed under "Lee, Marie" as you're registering for some reason. She's very enthusiastic about her work, and is always ready to help you whenever you need it. She sometimes has random quizzes on the syllabus or grading rubrics, but they're easy. The projects and assignments are extremely vague, but can be finished relatively quickly.

LOVE Ms Elaine! You can tell she genuinely cares about her students in and outside of school. She's no nonsense, but gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit and willing to help. I look at her words of wisdom daily and think of her often! She's definitely left an impression on me.

This has to be one of my favorite classes that I have taken @ De Anza. Ms. Lee is all 110% quality! There are a lot of hw assignments but they are based on your own experience. You will have to speak in front of the class at least 3 times (one being group project). Everything is a piece of cake as long as you do your work and participate!

Really fun class. Show up, do the minimal amount of work and you will be fine. No tests or finals but there are a couple easy quizzes -- she will let you know in advance. I wasn't thrilled about participating during class discussions but she eases you into it. Learned a lot, fair and flexible professor, highly recommended.

I was terrified of public speaking before taking Prof. Lee's class. Now I feel confident about speaking in public and in everyday conversations with people. I wish there were more teachers like her. She is very helpful, you just have to ask and she is there for you. Do your work, participate in class and you can do very well in her class.

Prof. Lee was an amazing speech teacher. I hate giving speeches but the class is pretty small and she's very encouraging and understanding. She is there to help you, and doesn't grade cruelly. Was an alright class; a butt-load of assignments though; they were constant . There was always some paper you had to write up which was a bit of a pain, that being said, the papers were about yourself so it was easy enough . Didn't bother opening the required reading except for while in class, got by just fine.

Easy class. Assignments were simple. Elaine really walks us step by step on what she wants us to do for the homework. It sounds cool but can get really repetitive and boring after a while. The room she has is kinda small though. guess its out of her control. But its a very warm and friendly environment.

Comfy environment; NICE and supportive teacher; Elaine's point of view is just True; many long, time-consuming written assignments (easy,tho); be ready to talk and interact. The teacher is great.

I took Elaine for my summer quarter and I have never met such a direct, kind and humorous professor. I am so glad I chose her for my Speech 10 class. The class goes by really fast and it's very interactive.

Elaine is a special person. Never met a teacher quite like her. She made me like speech class, which is something I'd never thought I'd ever say in my life. She is so helpful and response quickly to emails/ calls/ voicemails. There was a lot of homework expected in this class. This includes writing outlines and full page papers. 2 individual speeches and 1 group speech. Overall, class was not hard at all. Just expect to do your work. It is not an easy a, but I would say its worth the time. I had fun. She drops you if you miss too many classes. There are two personal speeches, and one group speech.

Lee is the most sassiest person there is. She is super sarcastic but knows what she's talking about. Her class involves two individual speech presentations and one group speech presentation. You do have to practice your speech if you want a good grade. There is usually a paper due after every class meeting but there are simple and easy. Take her.

An unbelievable gem of a professor. Convinced me to change my major to Communications and feel far more confident in my speaking ability. There is a decent amount of work, that can sometimes feel very overwhelming but it ultimately worth it!

Professor Elaine made the class enjoyable and interesting. She always offered great feed back and tips. There is a lot of reading in this class and the tests are a bit difficult. There's 2 individual speeches and 1 group speech but she makes sure you are prepared for when you present the speeches in front of the whole class.
