Oh my god, The sweetest lady in the world. The best instructor I have ever had my whole academic career. If you are in her class you are lucky. She is amazing and a lot of fun. I can not sing her praises enough. I have suggested all my friends to get into her class after my experience.

AMAZING PROF. She is so helpful and considerate and honestly if you get a bad mark in her class its because you didn't try at all. Some assignments I'd do in about 15 minutes and get 100% on! Also, she has really beautiful eyes!

She seriously rocks. If you failed her class, you're a complete idiot. Her class is super easy as long as you attend class and read the material that she gives you. She is SUPER friendly and will go out of her way to help you if you need it. I highly recommend her!

Elaine has such a lovely quirky attitude and I loved ENGL1101 with her! I use to hate English, but now I actually enjoy writing some essays because of her. I worked for my mark, so its not too hard to achieve an A! I would love to take another class if given the opportunity

Mrs. Mullen is a fantastic teacher and she is very engaging, and this makes learning in her classes very exciting. She is also extremely nice and very approachable. You are an amazing professor Mrs. Mullen!

Elaine was a wonderful prof. I would highly recommend taking her class. I was a bit nervous taking an english but Elaine made it very stress free and she gives you the chance to have one late essay without penalty.

Elaine is a wonderful professor. Her classes weren't always the most interesting, but it is English. She was very fair and so understanding. Her expectations are clear and goes into detail about what is necessary. She allows late assignments without penalty. I would recommend her to anyone!

Elaine was wonderful! She was very liberal in her ideas and encouraged us to write about controversial topics which was a lot of fun. She isn't the easiest marker, but I found it easy to improve with her feedback.

If you're in an english course, you like reading or you had to take a GNED. Elaine is the best way to go, she's very friendly. Kind of feels like elementary school again but with intellectual conversations. Love her topic ideas, she keeps a GNED from becoming too painful! You can pick your topics for most things. Fair marker, class was well done.

Elaine is probably the best English prof I've encountered so far, she is outstanding! All her years of experience shows itself in the way she presents herself. Classes are fun, be prepared for group work and assignments - nothing too crazy. The knowledge you gain from her will remain with you forever. Her grading is also cool, nothing too strict.

Elaine is a fantastic prof! I have always hated English, but she teaches it in such a way that it makes it very interesting. I went from usually getting C's in English to A's! She really explains the content well and is always therefor you if you need help. Also allows to do rewrites, so if you aren't happy with a grade, then you can try again.

Coming into this class I was expecting to get at least a B. However, no matter how good your content is, she'll drop your grade to a C- for minor grammatical errors. The good thing about the class, is that on paper the lectures are 1hr 30min long but loves cutting it to 50 min. Nice lady, love her outfits!!!!

This was the first english class I enjoyed. She is excellent at teaching, and I ended up doing much better on my papers then I thought I would. Do the homework on the assigned book questions and you'll get 100% on the related tests.

Elaine is an AMAZING prof. I loved being in her class. She's allows re-writes for ALL MAJOR assignments/essays. She is a FAIR marker and alway provides EXCEPTIONAL feedback. All her quizzes and assignments are EASY. If you hand in all your assignments on time she gives 1% bonus to your overall average. Definitely an easy GPA booster. Would retake!

Elaine is an incredible professor. Throughout high school English was my worst and least favourite subject. However, this was one of my favourite classes this semester. Elaine truly loves her job, and wants every student to succeed. She allows you to re-write any major assignment, and is very clear about what she expects. 100% recommend her!

I love Elaine! A classmate of mine recommended her and she is as great as everyone says she is! This was the only GNED I liked. She gives amazing feedback so you know exactly what you need to improve on. The book is an easy read and can be finished in one sitting (buy an eBook, it's cheaper). Rewrites are always allowed & she's very understanding.

Elaine is amazing! I didn't expect to enjoy a critical writing class so much, but she's such a great prof. You can tell that she really cares about each individual's success. Her expectations for assignments very straightforward. We had 4 essays (including the final) but she gives you lots of time and lets you pick your topics. Highly recommend!!

Elaine is just LOVELY. Her classes are enjoyable and you WILL learn a lot, regardless of how well you do in English. So helpful- you learn all of the things about writing essays for University that you will need. She gives GREAT feedback, very clear grading criteria, and marks your assignments so fast! Never have I had a teacher or professor affect me in such a positive way. I always thought I was bad at english. Writing, reading comp., and literary analysis were my weakest points, but Elaine has helped me improve immensely. I actually really enjoy english now because of her! Elaine is amazing! She is extremely helpful and really wants you to succeed. She is flexible with her due dates (4 papers written throughout the semester PLUS she's open to your chosen topic) and her small quizzes are super simple. Attend her class, and it'll be a really easy A.

Refreshing to have a prof that actually cares if you do well and learn from your mistakes. Lots of opportunities to redo assignments to get a higher grade! I was unable to submit an essay due to my computer dying, so she gave me extra time without penalty to complete it.

Elaine is lovely, she is always there to assist you and she truly cares about students success. I learnt so much about essay writing and I can definitely say my writing improved. The class is not that difficult if you do the work she assigns and her lectures are entertaining and enjoyable.

Elaine made a dreaded class actually the one I looked forward to the most. She has a psych background, so her choice in assignment topics and the class book reflect this and made the class so interesting. She is knowledge about so many things and with each essay I improved by a letter grade, 100% recommend this prof for GNED 1401.

Elaine is an amazing prof. She is a hard marker, but she gives the opportunity to rewrite or make up marks on papers you didn't do well on. Her feedback is very informative and helpful. It's very beneficial to attend all her lectures as she walks you through and breaks down a lot of examples. Always responded to emails within a few hours.

Elaine is a fantastic professor; she ensures that students learn from their mistakes and build upon them. If you attend class and remain actively engaged within course material, you will excel. She also provides great feedback with all your assignments, and keeps lectures very interesting.

Elaine is a great teacher, she's super nice and gives plenty of opportunity to correct mistakes. She boasts at the beginning of the semester that she almost never gives out A+'s but don't let that scar you, if you show up and know how to write a decent paper you can pull of A- easily.

Elaine is the epitome of what an amazing professor is like. I hated English in high school and so I was very skeptical but Elaine changed all of that. She not only breaks down the material but she also teaches the basics ensuring the material sticks. This was my favorite class to go to and would I recommend her to anyone. There are also rewrites!

The best prof I have ever had. She's super sweet, very understanding when it comes to extending deadlines, simple tests and assignments that have clear outlines that are easy to follow... but if you want a good mark in the class it's important to show up to class cause there are lots of group activities and class notes that'll help with the final.

Loved Elaine as a prof, she was caring and helpful inside and outside of class. As well, I learned a ton from a class that I didn't expect much from.

She is an amazing professor, and you can rewrite almost all of the essays so you can get a good grade. There were, however, way too many assignments/homework/quizzes, this felt like a high school class. So you really have to put your effort into this class, and final was way too long for the amount of time we were given.

I honestly LOVE Elaine. She is so much fun, her tests were honestly really easy, just gotta do a quick little read the night before for the book tests. Essays, she gives feedback and really does give you the mark you deserve. Had friends in other English classes that really struggled especially because there was never an essay outline. Recommend!!!

I'm not a good writer at all, but I did extremely well in her class. She allows you to redo the majority of the assignments, including your midterm. The classes are really boring, but the class was easy marks. Throughout the semester we wrote 4 essays & then the final so it was not that stressful. she is clear on marking criteria & expectations.

Elaine is by far my favourite professor so far! Her lectures fly by and she gives many examples and gives specific/helpful answers to questions. All papers and the majority of minor assignments are rewritable. Grading was very fair and always got feedback. She really cares about student success, very approachable, goes the extra mile and it shows.

Elaine is a great prof and definitely goes the extra mile with her teaching. There is a lot of little homework things and 4 papers but she allows a lot of time for each and lets you redo most of the projects and papers. If you go too all the classes you will do well and provides good skills for future classes

Probably one of the best profs you can take for GNED 1401. She's clear with what she expects from you. I emailed her a lot this semester and she always got back to me as fast as she can (she replies extremely fast compared to a lot of profs). If understand what is presented to you (if not, just ask, she's nice) you'll probably do better than a B-

Elaine is an amazing professor! She is clear about what she wants you to do and is so understanding and helpful. She marks things quickly and replies to emails quickly. There are lots of small assignments assigned every week, but they dont take long to complete. She really cares about her students and does whatever she can to help them succeed.

Her class really helped me get a sense of university writing, and she is good if you are looking for a GNED writing course in your first year or if you need more work on your writing. She provides good feedback and lots of opportunity to increase your grade and do better on your essay and assignments.

Both I and my bestie took Elaine's class one year apart, and she was the one that recommended her to me. I don't like writing essays, but that's an unfortunate side effect of getting an education. Elaine doesn't force anything upon you, which is great for an introvert like me. If you pay attention, then you won't fail. No regrets from me!

I am a terrible writer, and Elaine's class helped me to become better at writing. Every week she sends out a list of things you have to get done by the end of the week. She is organized and answers fast to emails, lots of assignments, three major essays and managing your time is a must. If I can pass her class anyone can. Just work hard.

Elaine's a fantastic teacher who is VERY nice and caring and shows a lot of respect for her students. If you tell her you need an extension on an assignment and you have a proper reason, she will let you submit them late, but make sure the reason is a proper one. If you're not happy with how you did on your essay, She will also give you another try

Elaine is such a fantastic professor! Her lectures can be long, but she tries to make them engaging. Attending is essential as she gives many handouts (assignments and occasional notes). She provides great feedback for essays and is willing to go more in detail if you ask. She also responds fast to emails and is very accommodating. Overall, 11/10

Loved Elaine for GNED 1401! Took her course in the spring and I really enjoyed it! The papers were not tedious and the mini assignments were easy. Gives good feedback on assignments and she's so sweet! Would definitely recommend her, and I almost wish I was an English major so I could take a class with her again.

I can't begin to say how much I love Professor Mullen! Hands down best teacher ever! She actually cares about her students learning the material. She teachers critical thinking and doesn't just stuff her agenda down your throat like so many other teachers. Highly recommend!

Literally the best English prof at MRU, you will not be disappointed. She gives amazing feedback, is very clear about outcomes and expectations and teaches with clear direction and well integrated examples.

Elaine is the best prof for this class, hands down! She does ask that you take notes on paper, but it is so worth it, as her grading is super fair and she wants the class to be easy enough that we actually engage with it. Also gives an outline of her exam ahead of time!

Professor Mullen for the most part is a nice lady, her lectures are comprehensible and she's overall very seasoned in her field of work. Taking her class has definitely improved my academic writing skills, so I recommend her for this reason. Sometimes she does have some very.. boomer takes on stuff and she comes across as biased on some issues.

I am very blessed to have Elaine as my professor for my GNED 1401 class. She gives the class very good feedback on homeworks and major assignments. I have learned a lot from her that will surely benefit me in the future. She is one of the most caring professors I have ever had, being in her class feels like a breath of fresh air.

I really loved Elaine she was such a sweet and caring lady. She gave really good feedback and is a very fair grader. I am not the best at English and I don't really like it but her class was super interesting and we talked about more then just writing and English. Take this prof for this class!!

Elaine is super sweet and really wants her students to do well! It is a pretty dry course to take, which is expected for a foundational GNED, but she made it easy to complete assignments and there were only 3 papers. The only thing to be aware of is that she doesn't use any technology, so the D2L shell will be empty and everything is on paper.

Elaine is a sweetheart who marks easy and cares about her students, but she has a strict attendance policy and typically spends a lot of her classes talking about her right-wing political views, which has nothing to do with the lecture. Other than that, would take again!

Elaine's such a sweet prof, she was always trying to make us laugh and I found her lectures and material to actually be quite interesting. It is not hard to do well in her class as long as you give it your best so I would definitely recommend taking her class!
