Do all of the Connect and textbook problems and you will do better than most on the exams. He grades at a heavy curve, otherwise I'd be more concerned about this class. This is a younger teacher and he brings a lot of insight from his public accounting career. He plays a song at the beginning of every class. Quizzes every week.

He is a good professor who will answer all of your questions. If you have a problem on lecture go to see him in office hour. you better to go class everyday for lecture note. it is a good way for good grade. do your practice problem on blackboard and connect problem that will be helpful for your quiz or exam guide. overall, the class is good.

Professor Maksymov helped make this accounting class interesting and applicable to the real world. Starts the class with music every day as you walk in. It always brightens my mood when I walk in. He also provides inspirational videos, articles and pieces of life advice that prove to be very useful.

Eldar is a great guy. An accounting professor with a sense of humor. Very fair grader. And gives great life advice during class. Attend class, take good notes and study those notes for the quizzes and tests. Also, practice quizzes on BB and connect problems help w quizzes and tests. The class is curved a lot by the end of the semester.

Nothing he gives you is unexpected. If you do your reading and study alot you will get a good grade. Only thing I don't like is that his handwriting sucks and it sometimes hard to take notes on what he writes

Good lecturer. You learn a fair amount of information that should be helpful in your career. I'm not much for audit, but he has some good stories. He covers the material well and he's a very bright guy. He gives some difficult exams, but will give a fair curve. Even when you think you know your stuff, he'll throw you a curve ball.

He's very easy to talk to during office hours, so if you have any questions about class or real life, go to him. Enjoyable class with fair exams and generous curve at the end.

Dr. Maksymov prepares extensive notes covering all relevant material for each chapter, which is why I gave him a 5 for helpfulness. He is also VERY liberal when it comes to curving, so know that as long as you do your best the grade you receive will be rewarded, without question. Learning the audit process under Dr. Maksymov was a privilege.

He has pre-made lecture notes that you just fill in when you come to class. DO THESE. They really do make the difference between a C or an A. He's a great lecturer. He has experience in the field. He's really easy to listen to. I'd get a beer with him.

Professor Maksymov is a really good professor. He presents the information as interestingly as possible and has real life experience. I was definitely afraid of this class going in but it has not been too difficult. Lots of projects, get as many points on those as possible to help out any bad test grades. Quizzes weekly

Tough class. The format of class lectures aren't very helpful if you don't know the material. He simply reads a PDF that you have to take notes from as fast as you can. This makes it difficult to try to understand his explanations. Very fair, very nice. Great guy! One of the best professors I've taken. I would love the opportunity to work with him.

Dr Maksymov is an amazing professor! He really wants his students to be successful and understand the material. Love his "inspirational stories" and "real world advice" at the start of each lecture. He also plays music as students are coming into the class, which relaxes everyone. He LOVES auditing and tries to pass that on to his students!

Overall amazing. Great guy to talk to about course material, other classes, and your personal experiences in accounting. He's really understanding about the challenges students face inside and outside class. Go to lecture! He's entertaining and keeps you engaged while learning the content. And you won't physically get the content otherwise.

Great Professor. He has a way in making the most boring subject an interesting one to keep you engaged. More importantly he is almost always on your side trying to help out. Also a great sense of humor, I swear. If you are able to take all the notes in class and understand them, you should be able to get a good grade.

Amazing teacher. His notes are basically an outline and it forces you to follow along in his lectures. Lectures are great and he truly knows the material. He is there to help and just wants everyone to do well. He provides real world examples and you even get to watch a couple videos. Exams are hard though so study, but he also curves which helps!

Good course

I have been dreading audit all four years due to the rumors but it has become one of my favorite classes due to Professor Maksymov- my fav prof at ASU. His lectures are interesting and he is an all around cool guy. The quizzes and lectures prepare you for exams AND he curves. He responds quick to emails. Wish I could have had him for all classes.

Really funny guy, makes SUPER dry content as interesting as possible. No homework, just practice problems. Exams all multiple choice. He gives out notes, but they are incredibly concentrated. Textbook required to clarify. Smaller group projects. Exams not easy, so curves a good amount.

I want to say Prof. Maksymov is the best accounting course professor I have ever met at ASU. He is a smart, proactive and motivated person. He cares about students and think of things in students shoes. He tries to make the lecture and notes easy to read and understand ASU accounting courses would be a lot better if there were more like him.

This class was so great. He really cares about his students and their genuine understanding of the material. He is so nice and gives amazing life talks every day, and his videos/articles he shows always demonstrate valid points. I would highly recommend him. Make sure to study as you go and for the exams DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS/study old quizzes!

Lectures can be dry at times, but he frequently tries to lighten the mood, bring you back to attention. Tests and quizzes are curved as necessary, because he cares about your success. He goes over in detail quizzes and tests to make sure you understand your mistakes. Attendance is graded so be sure to go to class.

Gives notes but don't necessarily depend on them for the first exam, there are 3 exams so study hard for first one until you figure out the pace of the course. Found the course kind of hard to study for... but great professor.

Maksymov is my favorite professor at ASU. The class material is VERY dry and boring, but Maksymov has made this class very enjoyable. He has a good awareness of the class environment and can liven things up when people are losing their span of attention. He is very forgiving with his curve in exams. He's motivating and suportive.

His quizzes are rarely definitions. If he goes over a quantitative worksheet in class, you better know it for the quiz.

Sensei Maksymov realizes there is a lot more to life than audit. I honestly love this man more than I've loved some girlfriends. If you have the opportunity, take his class and don't even think twice about it.

Dr. Maksymov is a great teacher. Although I will be earning a C in the class, I would definitely take him again. He spends half the class talking about relevant information in the real world and the other half talking about the lecture itself. The course consists of 11 quizzes, attendance, 3 group projects, 5 homework assignments and 3 exams.

This is the professor I wish I had for every class; it is almost like having a guest speaker every week. Roughly 1/3 of each class is spent talking about "real world" topics and giving perspective for your first months after university. Having worked in an audit office for 3 years, his lectures and assignments are pretty close to the real deal too.

Prof M wants you to succeed in the class and, more importantly, your career. The lecture notes, in-class examples, and what Prof M says in class are the material the tests (very fair) are based on. Lots of points are given back on tests and quizzes. I had an audit internship before this class and relearned that material in class.

There are some professors who are just "doing their job" and then there is Prof Maksymov who comes to class with so much enthusiasm. Teaching comes naturally for him as he can make a dull subject interesting to listen to. He surely practices what he preaches in regard to "Doing what you love."

I am not a good student in accountancy major. However, he is one of the best prof i have met in my college lives. He is smart but never be tricky to us in class or exams. He is responsible and always willing to answer questions. I promise all of you would pass this class. Just need to study harder for a better grade.

Although I had to sacrific a chicken to the Voodoo god Boli Shah to pass this class, overall he is an excellent professor. There is a ton of reading in his class, but the textbook is written in the conversational style and is quite enjoyable. Prof. M also takes constructive critism and postive feedback very well and listens to our concerns. TTC!

It was light-hearted and humorous in his class. If you have any questions, the professor can answer them at any time. I think each chapter is a little too much for me to remember.

Dr. Maksymov really cares about his students. He reaches out to them to check in on how they're doing. He wrote the book but gets no royalties on it so students can pay the lowest price. The book also uses easy to understand language. Audit is hard, but he makes it bearable. A few group projects that give you a taste of real audit work.

He goes above and beyond to make sure his students understand the material & his teaching method is sort of flipped but as a student I really enjoyed it (it forced me to do my reading lol)

Besides the exams, there isnt much besides a few easy group projects and individual projects. Only homework is reading. Reading is interesting as he wrote the book. Definitely recommend!

This class is honestly one of my favorites and I would take it again in a heartbeat. He is what inspired me to go into the Masters of Audit program and I highly recommend. There are no surprises on your tests and they are all multiple choice. He cares about his students and their wellbeing and has been my favorite professor in the department so far

Really easy going professor that is willing to bend over backwards to help you out. The homework and tests are pretty straightforward with no big surprises. If you have the chance, make sure you take his class.

Prof. Maksymov is a great professor! He truly cares about his students and wants us to succeed. Only grades are quizzes and 3 tests (non-cumulative) but quizzes are an easy 100%, untimed, open note, unlimited attempts, and provide feedback. Exams are curved and overall grade is likely to be curved as well.

Thoroughly enjoyed this class and the professor was the most genuinely caring one I've had. The entire class is 1) Quizzes and 2) Tests. Nothing else. Read book -> Take quizzes -> Take test. The textbook reads well at least. The tests are BRUTAL and closed note closed book, but luckily he curves every one. Keep up on textbook and you will pass.

Although I did not enjoy the actual material of the class because I do not want to go into audit and it was all lectures, you have to take it. Take it with him. He genuinely cares about his students and will not let you fail the class if you go to class and participate. The tests were HARD. Study, try your best, and Maksymov will take care of you.

Prof M is probably the best professor that I have ever had the opportunity to be a student with. He reached out to class about a month prior to the course start date to provide a few textbooks to students in financial need. He teaches exactly what you need to know for exams and lectures clearly follow his textbook. Take him if you get the chance.

Professor Maksymov is great with online classes. I took ACC 450 over summer which makes the class 5x harder but he was great at making exams and assignments clear. If taking this course over summer just be ready to watch lecture videos. He does a good job though of making the videos short and digestible. Easy grader, do the work and you'll be fine.

I can't say enough good things about Prof M. He genuinely cares about the content, his students and their success, and the future of Audit as an industry. While he is literally writing the book on the subject, do not expect this to be an easy A, but if you put the work in, you will have a very fulfilling semester with a top educator at ASU.

Maksymov is truly one of the best profs I've ever had at ASU. He is super funny and manages to make a pretty dull subject interesting. 3 exams, a couple projects, & attendance make your grade. His exams are tough, but he posts practice quizzes that help a lot and curves. His attitude is amazing and he genuinely made my semester. Take him for sure!

Speaks incredibly clearly, and at a pace where you can speed him up and still understand the lecture videos if you are fairly proficient with English. Slow pace is also good if you want time to document notes I suppose. All quizzes and exams are open book and notes. You should ace all your quizzes no problem, and the tests are timed and are fair.

This professor was amazing, I definitely recommend taking his class. His grading structure is straight forward, he curves tests, and his class setup and schedule is very easy to follow and lines up perfects with the book. If you want an A I would definitely recommend reading the book. But if you just want a B I would say the videos are enough

Took this class as a Summer Session B. Had about 4-5 lesson quizzes each week and an exam biweekly (3 in total). The quizzes have unlimited attempts so full credit for them is possible. He curves the first 2 exams. The exams are open book and open notes but there's a time limit of 90 minutes. The exams have 50 multiple choice questions each.

Amazing professor. His book is a super easy read- surprising cuz usually accounting textbooks are super dry and hard to get through. Lectures are clear and concise. You can retake quizzes as much as you want, and a lot of the problems will give feedback if you get them wrong. Exams are tough, even being open notes/book, but he curves them often.

Lectures were enjoyable and generally less than 10 minutes which made it easy to digest the material. There was a lot of material to go through and a lot of reading but it was easy to follow along. Really enjoyed Prof Maksymov. Very kind and caring and wants to see us all succeed.

I wish all upper level accounting classes had professors like this one. Lectures were a decent length and not boring and the class overall was the right amount of challenging that we need. This class really allows you to have a good balance between other classes and I think it's something that a lot of professors don't understand.

I was really happy with the amount of challenging yet reasonable Eldar is for this class. Class is heavy on the group projects but was nice to be able to choose your own group. Exams are really tough but you do get a cheat sheet and he took into account our feedback and ended up curving it. Imo he is the best professor in the accounting program.

Professor Eldar is highly knowledgeable in auditing and demonstrates a deep understanding of the subject. While the exams are long and challenging, he is a fair and reasonable grader. Be prepared for group projects and case presentations, as they are an integral part of the course. Additionally, he offers extra credit opportunities.

Professor Maksymov is an amazing professor! He managed to make a master's capstone class enjoyable, gives incredibly kind and personalized feedback, and prepares you for accounting in the real world. Advanced audit is a challenging class but he does everything he can to make sure everyone succeeds!

Prof. M. was an amazing addition to the MACC program. You can tell he took time to diligently write the course's PPTs, homework, study guides, etc. He cares for his students' success and WANTS everyone to pass. His class is difficult and has A LOT of content, but it is all worthwhile. Put the effort in and he will reward you for the hard work.

Professor Maksymov's class was the highlight of my time at ASU. The subject matter of his class is inherently challenging, but he did a great job highlighting why it was important for our accounting careers and making his grading criteria clear.
