Excellent. A+++++++++ Eleanor is very eloquent, assertive and the best public speaker I've ever heard. She's not overly demanding and makes her lectures very interesting. She also respects her students, which is hard to come by.

Schapa is very helpful. It doesn't matter if you e-mail her at 12 midnight, you are sure to recieve a very quick response to any questions you have.

Very interesting/englightening history classes, she has a tendency to overpronounce "s"'s which is jarring...but overall extremely helpful.

Prof Schappa is just an over all beautiful person. Art History is generally not the easiest, but the way she approaches it and explains it makes it as "clear as water". She's knowledgable and v ery approachable;take her class! I wish she taught all the A. H's classes!!!

The purpose of this required class is to brainwash us: Everything those of European descent do is bad; anything everyone else does is good. But she's nonconfrontational, her tests are very fair, and she actually teaches some real art along with the required garbage.

I have to say, she made it quite interesting. Quizzes every class session but pay attention to the class and you will be fine...quizzes are test questions...pretty easy...pay attention..book is not reuquired.

Every compliment goes to Mrs. Schapa - terrific professor! Nothing hard or time consuming...just sit and listen and watch and you'll actually soak in a TON of info on art and culture. Very, very good grader. She will go out of her way to help anyone and accommodate crossed schedules. No homework - only a museum visit w/her for class assignment.

i Highly recommend this teacher, she explains everything with supreme clarity and she answers all of your questions. Take notes on the slides and know what slides are on her exams and you will ace it! I recommend to record her lectures to add to your grade!

If you dont get an A in this class then youre just a lazy loser. 3 exams drop lowest, 1 final like reg exam. Easy quizzes at end of every class. 1 museum fill out paper and one essay paper. Dont buy the book. she also teaches accounting 1. Take her for both!

I bet that I got the worst grade in this class, but the reflects none on this teacher. Professor Schapa will give you every chance she can to help your grade. She is one of the nicest people that I have ever met and is more than fair when it comes to grading. Make sure you plan for much homework though. Take her class if you want to learn.

I'm taking her online class. This is the first semester she is teaching an online course. I wish I had taken her in-person class instead because it's been a bit of a mess. But overall, she's a fair and very understanding teacher. I'm sure she's much more interesting in person. She gave us tons of optional resources online and they were all interest

One of the best teachers ive ever had, extremely easy class. good interesting lecture, very very easy multiple choice tests. museum paper and research paper required, but dont stress they are very easy, shes a fair grader. also a mini quiz after each lecture (her way of taking roll) TAKE HER!

she is the best! if you have never taken and acounting class she will totally get you hooked on accounting, she has personal stories that are always fun to listen 2. 3 test and a final home owrk is turned in for points but the home work is gone over in class. plus 20 extra credit points. take fer if u want 2 learn and an A

Straight up, i suck at history, so it was hard for me. I also ditched classes and took a couple of cat naps in class. Took bad notes didn't pay attention, didn't do the museum report (manditory). She drops the lowest test and quiz score. If u get good grades on all your test, u can skip the final. If u don't make my mistakes u'll do fine. I got a C

Cakewalk class. Everything is in the syllabus, and you won't need to crack open the book. Do what little work is assigned, pay attention in class, guaranteed A. However, Schapa is an amiable person and engaging lecturer, so if you want to go beyond the bare minimum you can really enjoy yourself. Just don't sleep or talk in class, and all is well.

This was her first online class, and it was rough. I think she is probably amazing in person, but online I didn't get as much out of the class as I had hoped. Just read the entire book and had a few discussions.

I thought it was a joke. She insisted you check the website everyday and there would be ten assignments and she never posted anything. I'm not sure if that's always how she is or if she was just off that semester. But it was pretty darned easy but terribly uninformative.

She was awarded Teacher of the Year at UCLA extension for a reason. She is passionate about her subject, articulate, organized, and inspiring. She engages her students in her lectures and doesn't use a textbook. 4 straight-forward multiple choice tests(lowest grade dropped) and 3 site visitation papers.

Professor Schapa is very nice and passionate about the subject. Class is an easy and fun way to get your requirements. You don't need to use the book but it is interesting to read sometimes. You can get an A on the tests with little studying but you need to attend most classes and do not use your cell phone in class. That is her one pet peeve.

I took art 72 with her in winter, and taking accounting 1 class with her right now. For Art 72, she's really clear and straightforward in her teachings. Her mini projects that she requires you to do are reasonably easy! And her midterm comes straight from her lectures. For acct 1, she is really clear in her lectures too. A kind, Very Friendly prof

I found her sweet but insincere as she strutted round in her spike heels!!! Didnt return emails or was very slow to do so. One student said "she said my paper was great but gave it a B!" Didnt follow syllabus...Housing NOT furniture/ design/commercial buildings! Follow the syllabus...that being said she does know Arch history and how to teach it

Schapa is the best accounting prof in SMC period! unlike other hard, and time consuming one's, shes very easy, nice, and sweet straightfroward! highly recommended to everyone. you will learn a lot from her and at the same time not stress out while taking other classes. Architecture history class is amazing. she is so nice and so clear and helpful. You learn alot and she loves showing you places and telling stories. great field trips . homework is easy if you pay attention.

Professor Schapa is awesome! Her lectures are crystal clear and straightforward. Tests are straight from lecture notes. I skipped a lot of classes but it's easy to catch up. She makes sure you understand everything before you take the test. Tests are exactly like the study guide. Easy A, but you learn. Unfortunately she does not teach Acctg 2.

I also took her for Art 72 (other than Acctg 01 in the comment below) and it was extremely easy as long as you have competent English writing skills. You need to write a lot, more than I expected for a relatively easy A class, but nonetheless you get the A so what does it matter? Easy A, but wasted my money on the textbook.

Oh yeah, personally I don't believe that its an easy A class like what others said, you still need to study though. You get to drop 1 test out of 3 tests and you are required to take the final.

Very kind professor. Willing to help you when you are in doubt. She cares a lot for her students and always pauses during lecture to make sure the class understands what's going on. I think she doesn't prepare you for ACCT2. I mean, her definition for an asset in the class is as she puts it "something you can touch" .................. She's an easy A though. If you're planning to add her, just be prepared to learn in slow motion. Haha!

At first the class seems really easy but the test are getting more hard and the materials we are covering now are getting more complicated. If you don't concentrate you won't get an A I recon but if you do the homeworks and study before a test you'll definitly get a B/A

Very nice teachers. She takes time to explain all the concepts and tells fun story to make class a little bit more fun. Test are exactly like the homework.

Mrs. Schapa is the sweetest and the most beautiful professor I've ever had. Her class is real easy but that's also the problem - I had her husband for Accounting 2 and I had a hard time following the course. Mrs. Schapa is ok if you only need one accounting class. But if you plan to major in Accounting, I'd suggest you to go for other instructors.

She didn't prepare me for Accounting 2 at all. If you're planning to take Accounting 2. Take some other professor for Accounting 1 because this class does not prepare you for accounting 2 at all!

I'll be real honest here. This class is an EASY A. But if you are majoring in business/accounting, I suggest you take someone else because she definitely doesn't prepare you for upper division acct classes. However, you will be fine as long as you take Bernstein or Leviton for Accounting 2. Schapa prepares you very much for Bernstein's class.

One of my favorite professors I've taken at SMC. She covers a lot every week so if you miss a class, make sure you borrow someone else's notes and catch up. I suggest recording her lectures. You will leave this class with a newfound love for art history. Don't get on her bad side though! Giggle while she's telling a sad story and you're dead meat.

SUPER EASY. 3 midterms, drops 1, and final exam. HW assigned daily but really easy and goes over the assignment in class. She gives study guides for the exams and LITERALLY the exams are the study guides, except she just changes the number. Not sure how well she prepares you for accounting 2 or other classes. This is the easiest teacher i have had so far at SMC. She is super sweet, clear, and makes everything easy for her students. The test are not cumulative, and they are super easy! 3 test drops one and i eassay!

Amazing teacher! She wants everyone to pass and makes sure of it. She gives study guides with practice questions before every exam. She makes accounting extremely simple. The homework is worth about 10% of your grade but she gives a lot of leniency towards when it is due. I strongly recommend taking her class.

Do not waste your time looking for another Art History teacher, she is fantastic. It's easy, but you do have to study & take notes. Obviously the only way to take notes is if you attend class. She has a passion for art and it's contagious, let me tell you. DO NOT text or giggle foolishly in her class. She loves your input when prompted.

Tests are very trick questions. There a final paper due at the end of the semester and she doesn't add anyone to the class I you are crashing art history is a easy class but only if u like it of not it will be annoying and hard I got a B even though I studied alot

take this class, its basically a gpa booster. spend less than 2 hours a week competing weekly homework assignment. No tests, she usually cancels the museum paper. so the class basically is comprised of 10 homework assignments... EASIEST CLASS OF YOUR LIFE.

Eleanor is an excellent professor. Although accounting 1 might not be the funniest subject of all times, her explanations makes sense and she builds an interest with her impressive earlier work experience. She made a 5 unit course feel like a 3 unit course even though she assigns weekly homework.

Schapa made Accounting fun and easy to understand. I haven't taken another accounting professor that has made the subject as easy to understand as she did. She does weekly homework but if you pay attention during lecture they're not too bad along with her exams. Don't get lazy like I did though my grade dropped from an A to a B because of that.
