This teacher is the worst that you will never take. You know the new teachers that think they can change the world. Well, she is one of those. If we ask her whats going to be on the final, her awnser is all the homework . there was a lot of homwork

I couldnt stand to come to class and could not understand a damn word that came out of her mouth. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER IF YOU WANT TO LEARN OR PASS.

Would have rather ate rat droppings then have to take this class over. Too fast - too difficult - teacher needs to learn English. Only one good class - When she was say factorial all class but pronouncing it "****torial" I was crying.

You can not understand her and she is way too fast at doing things. She likes to jump around from one topis to another, like from distance fomula to how to use a calculator.

Incredible pace.Her accent is tough to handle. She will turn her back to the class and talk super fast, mumble under her breath, and use words like "qweshin"(question). The absolute worst math teacher at moraine valley. You are setting yourself up for unavoidable frustration and failure by selecting Garant. Avoid.... avoid... and once again.. avoid. Rely on yourself and the book. An internet course would be less confusing and monotonous. !!TAKE Mrs. Shaw instead!! Garant should be replaced. Get her out of MVCC!!!

Worst math teacher i have ever had.she moves WAY too fast and you can hardly understand her.i took 139 instead of 212 because she is the only one who teaches 212.im going to SXU and theyll accept either 139 or 212, so try to save yourself before its too late.

She is the worst teacher in the world. I don't know how anyone could ever get a passing grade in her class. I studied for 7 hours a day for at least week for the last test and still got an F. The funny thing is that I got all the homework problems right. Explain that. Her tests suck!! They are nothing like the hw. My suggestion:Don't take her class

I don't understand how someone who speaks broken english is allowed to teach college level courses; especially in a class which requires a tremendous amount of explaining. This will be your biggest crutch if you take this course, despite how much you study. Teaching yourself math is never easy, nor fun. My advice is to take anyone else.

The teacher moves way to fast and you can't even understand her. She didn't teach the lessons thoroughly and several sections were reviewed in a day.

Ms. Garant really needs to be teaching at a University. She is obviously brilliant, but she moves so fast that even the math-savvy appear to be befuddled. I decided to drop after 2 months due to the overwhelming pace of the class. I am a 4.0 student and I felt like a person with a learning disorder. Math buffs this for you. Anyone else stay away.

Stats has always been a huge interest to me, but she actually made me hate it. Focusing on things that were irrelevant to a math class and not teaching calculator methods appropriately. Definitely a bad choice.

TERRIBLE TEACHER. I had her for MTH120, and she blew me off on multiple occasions when I specifically asked her to explain an assignment or new concept. Yes, I understand it's college, but she is still nonetheless a teacher and is being paid to teach and help her students. I don't recommend her at all, especially if math is not your strong point.

Took this teacher online...BIG MISTAKE. She doesn't explain anything, basically you have to teach yourself using the book but then will test you on material NOT in the book! She does not answer emails or discussion posts if she feels they arent important enough.I would not recommend to ANYONE.

She is the worst professor I have ever had. I am usually an A student, and never drop below a B, but I barely passed this class. She will not help you in class or outside of class. She expects you to know everything and you can't ask questions. You also can't make up quizzes or tests even if you have doctor's notes. She ruined my GPA.

I got this woman instead of some other teacher I picked, go figure. Class is 50 minutes long and she FLIES through everyone. Doesn't repeat anything, erases notes before you can even jot them down. She made me hate Math. Math is honestly my favorite subject, I've gotten A's on my previous math classes, I passed this class with a C! She teaches way to fast, quizzes every week, and toward the end of the semester almost half the class withdrawal. I DO NOT recommend her at all! This class was hard to understand if your bad at math, do not take this class because she explains the problems as if you know what she's talking about. She has a strong accent and she's a fast talker so its hard to catch up or understand what she is saying. Her quality in teaching the students to make sure everyone understands is poor.

Shes incredibly rude and a little hard to understand. Her lectures are very heavy and does not slow down if anyone doesnt understand. Which is hard because she speaks incredibly fast. I needed this class to transfer and as soon as I saw you need a room scan and show your paper to the camera I instantly dropped and came here to see ridiculous reviews so yeah thanks for making my summer more bologna than it is.

All she does is upload the quizzes and tests, and the powerpoints to study from, nothing else. She spends more time making sure everyone is using honor lock correctly rather than focus on the actual students in her class. She is also very rude when replying. Please don't take her, you will either hate your life or take the W grade, no in-between.

When choosing your prof for stats choose anyone but Garant. She never actually teaches instead just post powerpoints and says: "Good luck!"She cares more about Honorlock then the students actually learning. The biggest waste of money; I should have just taken the class at my university.

I took this class online (due to covid19) to transfer over to my college, but I wish I would have taken it at my university. Not impressed with Moraine Valley and I will not be taking a class here again or recommending it to others.

Garant was more concerned about honorlock than the success of her students. She posted more information on using honorlock than anything related to the material we were learning. She is poor at communicating through email, and her replies are always very rude. Just be prepared to teach yourself everything and dont bother asking her questions.

Mrs. Garant has a VERY STRONG accent and it is very hard to understand what she is saying most of the time. She uses up all of class time lecturing which can be very boring and will take 5% of your final grade everytime she catches you with your phone out during class. The only reason I passed is because of Chegg. DO NOT TAKE HER YOU WILL REGRET IT

If math isnt your strong suit do not take her course. Its fast paced and confusing and shes not super receptive to questions. I have never gotten such a low grade in math and I have stress cried during every test. I study and do all the work and still struggle. Also they record you as you take tests with honor lock which is invasive.

honestly, professor Garant is a very nice person and is willing to take time out of her day to help, but her grading tactics are horrible! there are 4 tests and each one is 20% of your grade which I find extremely unfair especially with this only online schooling... plus none of the homework counts which doesn't make your grade any better.

You are only graded on 5 things, 3 unit tests, the final, and homework. Homework is graded on completion, not on accuracy, so that's nice. You need to do well on the tests in order to pass, which is a lot of stress. My Final grade was a 68% and she would not round that up to a 70. So now I need to retake this god forsaken class.

This class was extremely difficult even if you watch the lecture videos and do the examples you will not pass the tests. Even the quizzes are difficult but not as bad as the tests. You get barely enough time. 90 minutes seems enough for 30 questions but each problem requires a lot of time because you are doing equations in most of the questions.

I reviewed this professor before but I wrote that this was an easy class absolutely not. I do not recommend if you want to pass this class. I feel like she expects you know how to do some of the problems because you possibly have taken a math class before this one. which I did not. She assumes we know some of the information which is unfair.

Theres no extra credit, your quizzes are worth .01 pt its all based on your exams so if you fail one your kind of screwed. She also uses honorlock and is very strict about it.

How about a disorganized mess in Canvas? Being taught nothing applicable to the four exams that your grade depends on? Then this is the prof for you!

the professor uses honorlock, which is a proctoring for tests, it watches you the entire time and has you do a 360° room scan, which is understandable for an online class, it becomes a problem when its the only thing they care about, a number of students in my class are not doing well but in other teachers classes the students are doing well.

I have never struggled in math in all my years of schooling, but cannot get above a 75 on any of her tests. My worst overall grade for math in high school was a 85, but for this class I am at a 68. She explains the basics, but when it comes to the test she never went over the difficult problems. I would never take her again for math.

Homework and quizzes don't matter, only the tests do and there are 4 in total each worth 20% of your grade so if you do bad on one you are done for. Give no opportunity for extra credit or retake.

Being an honors &AP student my whole life I never failed a homework assignment let alone a WHOLE CLASS.ur literally only graded on tests Not quizzes or homework, plus her lectures repeatedly go over the same simple things, yet briefly explain the more difficult things.And on top of that any effort to ask her a question will result in more confusion

This professor only has tests that count towards your grades. The quizzes nor the homework do not count as a grade, rather they are practice for a student instead of receiving credit for them.

I took an online course due to my work schedule. She forces you to use Honorlock - no exceptions - so I had to buy a camera and miss the first week. She claims that the freedom to do it at your own discretion warrants the invasion of privacy but no, she decides tests are open >24hrs on 1 day only and the quizzes sometimes lie about what they cover!

She gets mad when I would ask questions about the topics that were taught in class. Lecture heavy and you will fall behind if you do not attend class.

First semester of college and I tested my luck how bad could she really be... if you are not really good at math just drop the class buddy you aint gonna make it from the accent to the piles of papers i was lost had no idea where in the world i was but also its college so idk take some risk i guess

She knew her material and is very smart. Taking this class was very difficult and I had to withdraw it was way too much information and I don't recommend it. She does not grade homework, if you fail a test then your grade will not be good. No extra credit. Her lectures took up the whole class period and I wanted to fall asleep. FIND A NEW CLASS

I regret taking this course. I work full time, so naturally I chose an online course .quizzes and mean nothing, which is very counter productive. we should be graded on that as well. The tests are worth 20%of your grade. Ive had breakdowns because she goes over easy problems during the lecture, and then throws unfamiliar problems on the tests. 3/10

Very exam heavy which makes it hard to get a good grade. If you do bad on the first exams youre screwed. quizzes count as completion. attendance does not matter but will struggle if you miss a class. If she misses class, you still have to watch the videos which are 40 minutes long sometimes. Do not take her if you want to struggle lol

DO NOT TAKE!!! No homework at all, which sounds great but it's math you need hw. Doesn't put in any grades until the end of the semester. All quizzes are 15 minutes, which is not enough time. Will not tell you what you got wrong on big tests unless you go to speak with her one on one. Buy this big book for optional homework! Set up for failure.

I took this class in the spring which I regret 100%. She really did not know how to teach at all. She just talks and rushes through and expect us to automatically know it just like that and gets upset when the class doesn't know the answer. It was ridiculous to the point where it was like 20 students in the class and it dropped to 6. DO NOT TAKE!

You Should not take this class your grade mostly depends on the tests, You have quizzes about the modules on the weekend, but they are due by 10 pm she makes you take five pages of notes each class, so if you use your iPad for notes, she won't allow that. When she explains the topics, she goes in-depth, but you still won't understand.

U know the type of people who wish u the best but make ur life miserable? She focuses more on making sure u know how to use honor lock than making sure u understand the material. The amount of time she expects you to answer a question only Albert Einstein would be able to do so. Words the problems to completely confuse u and rethink ur whole life.

Professor puts so much material withing these units and exams can be very tough. Attendance isn't graded but you need to show up or else you will missout on a ton of material. Don't take her classes if you don't feel you are ready for a tough semester

Homework is only optional and is not taken for a grade. Won't answer questions about homework. Spends entire class lecturing on her packets she hands out. Questions won't be answered during class. Expected to understand material right away. Test questions were not covered in her lectures. Only grade is tests.

This is absolutely one of the worst professors you can take at Moraine Valley Community College. She will accuse you of cheating for not having your camera exactly the way she wants it. You will get a zero on tests. She will get disrespectful in your emails, she is absolutely out to make students fail rather than try to help. Please don't take.

Honestly this professor wasn't good. We had long lectures, she doesn't grade the homework, the quizzes are not due until the end of semester. The whole grade depends on exams and she doesn't respond to your emails. I won't recommend taking this unless you want to struggle and have the worst semester ever.

I was passing all my classes this semester but the difference is I had a good professor to teach me. While in this class my professor wasn't good at all. The textbooks useless, never graded the homework, your grade depending on exams, doesn't grade the quizzes until the end of the semester, and doesn't respond to emails. Don't take her class.

Homework is optional and not taken for a grade. The only grades are your online quizzes and tests. Class consists of lectures on thick packets that are already completed. Packets are confusing. Does not answer any questions as she spends class only going through her packet. Everybody dropped class.

The entire class consists of her going over multiple packets which she will switch between frequently in the middle of explaining, on top of having you write your own notes. Talks WAYY too fast and moves through the material very quickly. Don't worry about writing neat or you will fall behind. Strong accent that can be hard to understand at times.

It is literally the worst. Her treatment of students is bad, she doesn't consider anyone's circumstances, she doesn't teach well, and it's extremely hard to understand her. There is no way to succeed in her class. I have an A in all my other classes, and if I had to choose between dying or taking her class again, I would choose death.

Attendance is not mandatory BUT if you want to do good, you need to attend. I wanted to withdraw but I was too late. The professor has an accent which is not a problem but the teaching was not good. I don't usually struggle in math but this class stressed me out especially for the final exam.

Literary the worst class I have taken. It is an introductory math class, I have taken other college level math classes of higher levels that were easier. She will make stuff up on the exams that were never touched on before. Will not cooperate with you if there is an emergency and you can't finish an assignment on time. DO NOT TAKE HER
