She is great. She explains everything and is clear. She gives alot of work but its not hard if you apply yourself. She is extremely helpful and really prepares you for the next level. I loved her class even though it wasnt a breeze. She pretty leinient but you'll still learn.

This professor is a unique professor. when you desire a professor who will sit and explain to you where you go wrong on a paper, then this is the professor you should choose. She's a well prepared and loving person. her classes are always interesting. She too is a star.

A lot homework

The class was very interesting, Ms. Perez is very helpful and she makes the class interesting. As long as you study you will pass. She goes over essays very well, and actually gives you advice on how to write a very good essay. She is great!!

Although it is very hard to get a failing grade in her class, it is just as hard to get an A as well. Expect to rewrite your papers more than once & expect her to keep finding more errors each time, instead of finding all the errors the first time. But the classwork is pretty easy, its just the papers that are hectic.

Extremely hard to please and to find out what she wants at the beginning. But go to her during her office hours, she is extremely helpful!!! LEARN A LOT!!!! Don’t be mad that you did not get A b/c probably won’t. This class, you have dedicate time and effort but its so worth it!!!

She is great once you get used to her style. She is a very strict grader but the good thing is that she lets you corect your mistakes, so expect to rewrite your papers 2,3,4, and even 5 times. It is not impossible to get an A but its pretty hard. My advice is to attend all the extra credit opportunities she gives you (which are alot)

This teacher is very good!!! It may be a little boring, but once you start to participate it will get interesting. The quizes are so easy and she makes you write a lot of drafts for essays to give you plenty of chances before she gives you a final grade...i got an A and was in ENC1101

She is a sweetheart. She makes the extra effort to make sure you understand all her assignments and if you need to make up a test she'll make arrangements with you. She cares for her students a rare quality at Dade. Take her!

If you want to learn writing a good essay, or if you can take the challenge doing research and homework, she is the one for you. I just finished this course and she is definately a good teacher, however very firm at grading. Be ready for a research paper with a powerpoint presentation. Overall not a breeze but you will learn how to be a better writer. I got a B-.

The first good English teacher I've in a long time. She explains everything clearly and makes the class interesting. Her assignments are not hard as long as you pay attention in class. She gives you opportunities to re write your essays. I would definitely recommend her, you will learn alot!!!

Ok, you need to pay attention in class she tends to crack the whip. But if you?re on top of your game you should be straight. She is extremely nice and understandable. The Bibliography Cards will take forever so once she assigned it get to it!

Prof. Perez-Mirabal seemed as a very good prof. at the begining of the semester, but turned out to be the opposite. She is too involved with school activities which take away most of her time to teach. She is very respectful and she is always willing to help, but her class is boring and pointless. I took Professor Perez-Mirabal for both 1101 and 1102. She was extremely helpful and works had for the students to learn. The class is not easy, but I'm grateful for it. I would recommend her to anybody!!!

She's really a wonderful Professor Very very helpful. She does give lots of work but not so much you can't keep up with. You definitively have to be motivated and work 100% of the time this isn't a slack class but it is a great class. She brought us candy for halloween and plays music before class. Always willing to meet with you afterclass too

Good professor. Gives ALOT of homework and takes forever to grade it. Sweet personality, whiling to help and open to suggestions.

Easy going teacher. She gives a lot of work but it's not hard work. Pretty fair on grading and very helpful. She likes interation with students, there's a few group assignments and a presentation of a 10 page paper. She tries to make everyone feel comfortble but if your a shy person this may be a problem. Overall great class and a great teacher.

Good professor, straight-forward essay assignments with plenty of time to do. She does miss class frequently, however.

Lots of Long essays. Grades harshly. Takes too long to grade. Last 8 assignments were not graded at the end of the term, she was so behind. Hard to determine how you are doing if the grades are not available. The work is long, sometimes 3 assignments a week. Doesn't respond to email. No extra credit.No Midterm or Final when I took it last Fall.

This is the first time I did not use Rate my Professor, and to be honest I did not know what to expect for this class. To my surprise Prof. Perez was extremely helpful! Assignments were easy to understand and she did not grade harshly. We read a couple of books wrote some papers, and it all very easy. Highly Recommended! Easy A.

I took her class online, there was a lot of work to do, but it was very easy, she drops the lowest grades at the end, so I ended up with an A, I'm horrible at writing, but she doesn't grade harsh at all! If you want an easy A, either take her online or in class you won't drop her class for sure :)

AMAZING professor, I took her for both of the required english composition classes. She's lenient and very understanding. She's the type that likes to discuss topics and keeps class interesting. She gives work but it isn't LOADS of it. Most times the topics we wrote essays for were interesting and modern & we were given a lot of room for opinion.

This professor is amazing! I took her for ENC1101 and decided to take her for this course because she is great at teaching and super easy. The class is not hard and she is great at helping you out if you have any questions.

She will literally sit with you and discuss papers with you give out true and false reading checks so do the reading also follows the syllabus to the key

Awesome teacher, super easy to talk to, loves class participation. Quizzes almost every class on homework material which is reading. Quizzes are super easy if you read or use common sense, you'll pass them. You do have a couple of writing assignments but are easy, late work is acceptable. Really understanding and encouraging.

she really grades work really late, rent the book and read the assignments she gives you from the syllabus guide. Every quiz on the assignments you have read. You will be reading a novel at home and a quizes on 4 section of the book. Ur grade will be 50% of the essays. Our research paper was a group thing. First time she said this happen for her.

Love her so much! Her class teaches you to admire and appreciate life more tbh. she is super cute and funny. she actually cares about her students and makes the class engaging! always read and do her assignments, short quizzes almost every class (super easy) and 2 essays plus a project (not a tough grader)

For my first online class, it wasn't so bad. She'll let you turn things in a little late because she's understanding. Responds to emails within 48 hours or less as promised. Easy assignments, just don't forget or be lazy.

The fall semester is not over but so far she is an amazing english professor. However, since the first day of class she has been pushing her political views on her students and bashing the opposing candidate. I don't believe this is right for a professor to do. She should be more neutral in the classroom and allow us to make our own opinions.

i enjoyed this professor. this class was pretty simple and work weekly but it was easy to keep up with. i just dont like how she takes soooo long to respond to emails. sometimes she doesnt even answer them. from time to time her grading is a bit messy too.

It was one of the easiest classes I have ever taken! As long as you stay on course and complete the assignments you should be fine. There is 1 proctored midterm, 1 essay, 1 research paper, visual assignment, and video assignment. Also weekly quiz and discussion. Like any standard online course you need to do work, but overall great course.

I honestly suck at English and she made English seem extremely easy. You might get overwhelmed by the amount of reading you will have to do for this class but it is all spread out through the semester. If you do what you are told and follow the syllabus you will be fine.

This was my favorite class this semester. Get ready to read - it IS a Lit class - and she gives reading check quizzes to hold you accountable. She's super down to earth and sets clear guidelines for grading. Only one oral presentation, 3 writing assignments (1 is based on your oral presentation), and 2 exams. Her lectures are interesting, too.

I took the 6-week Summer A class and make no mistake, there is a LOT of work. There's something due almost every day. There's 2 big essays worth 25% each but she doesn't really grade harshly. She's the first professor I've had that actually leaves feedback on essays which I so appreciate to learn from my mistakes. Highly recommend her to all!

My online class originally had another professor, but it switched to Perez-Mirabal. If you don't want to do speech in class, I highly recommend you take LIT2480 with her if possible. She has mini-essay assignments and one recorded very short speech. Take her! So glad I didn't do speech class in person. Very easy!

Awesome professor. Beware there is a lot of reading since it's a literature class. Quizzes on reading every class. 3 exams & 4 essays. She is super knowledgeable about this subject.

Get ready to read and to speak, this is what is about LIT2480. In this subject I learned a lot, prof. Perez-Mirabal is always giving papers to read for the next class and that way you really learn! Evaluation system has a good design so everything matters. She is very flexible and open for suggestions, I really appreciated having her as a teacher.

Professor Perez-Mirabal is another amazing professor at MDC. I took her for ENC2300, Lit2120, and Lit2000. I wanna keep taking her and only her because she knows her stuff, is a great professor when shes teaching and is very knowledgeable about the subject. By far one of my fav. Buy the book and read. Its an English/Lit class so prepare to read.

She's honestly an amazing professor all around. Mirabal really does care for all her students and does her best to make sure everybody understands the material. The tests are very easy and no textbook is required. 10/10 lady

She gives a lot of guidance and helps you understand the material clearly. You turn in drafts for your papers and then she gives you feedback so you have an opportunity to update your paper based what she is asking for. Great teacher!

This teacher is super easy I recommend there are a few readings in the bugging with a quiz for each one the midterm is a long essay with 3 topics each needs there on essay but not hard just time consuming and the same goes for the final there is also a presentation and its super easy and heavily graded overall its super easy
