this lady is horrible, she will not help you at all and will actually encourage you to drop saying you don't have a chance to pass

She is not knowlegeable. She is disorganized, vague, and does not care about a student's concerns with the course. You have a chance of passing the class if you just don't listen to her at all and only read the book.
This teacher is very tough. She is a little hard to understand. If you want to pass you really have to study very hard. She gives a lot of quizzes so you know where you stand about every two weeks.
Very hard teacher. Sometimes hard to understand because she has an accent.
She seems hard in the beginning. If she sees your interested and respectfull, she will explain untill you understand. I had D for first test and then I start studing and she helped me a lot. I think students who gave her bad evaluation are not fair.
neet professor forerver.Very nice lady too.
The class is very hard, a lot of staff to study. To pass it you need to go to every lecture and do all handouts.
ok, yes, this class is hard... but it's supposed to be... the material is very rough. She atleast provides you with good study guides. Read the Chapters, do the guides.. and u'll do fine... i'm and avg. student and i'm gettin an A this term. She's improved. Bad comments should be reconsidered.
This professoe is horrible. She gives you one thing to study and on the test its other material. You can tell she hates teaching and is only there to collect a paycheck. She is not very nice nor helpful.
I like the class.
Even after all the bad i heard i stayed, studied & got an A. She has a thick accent but all u need to do is be quiet & listen. Be ready to really study because it will take up a lot of ur time regardless who ur proff. is. She is great for lab.
She has a really heavy accent. She is really cold and doesn't like to help you when you ask for it. Be sure to write clear on your test and quizes. I wrote the number 26 for how bones are in the foot and she marked it wrong. She said it looked like the letter U.
I CAN'T UNDERSTAND EVERY OTHER WORD THAT COMES OUT OF HER MOUTH. SHE DIDN'T MAKE LEARNING INTERESTING AT ALL.THIS CLASS WAS VERY HARD.I WOULD JUST GO HOME AND TEACH MYSELF, BY READING THE TEXTBOOK,RATHER THAN WASTING MY TIME IN CLASS JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT SHE IS SAYING!
she has a accent when she talks but she pretty good. only if your a serious student will you even pass her class, let alone ttalk about an "A". she's hard but will help you through the course.
Best professor in the college. Very knoledgeble and helpfull.
This is the hardest class i've ever taken and she is not very helpful. The quizes are never what she goes through in class, so be extra clear in the whole chapter.
First of on, this class is very hard no matter who you take. So don't expect to find any easy teachers for this class. She is very nice and good but she is the hardest teacher out of all the lab teachers for a&p. Her quizzes are mainly functions but her practicums is all location, location, location. So beware!!
Nice profeesor, but she was so hard... Does not gave a curve at all and does not help you at all. Her quizes are super hard that you don't even know where to start. Good Luck...
she's nice and knows the material. its a hard class the way to pass is by studying A LOT. she does have a accent and you have to listen to what she says, but if you study you could pass.
It is a hard class anywhere you go. However she is a great Professor, very helpful and understanding.
the class is a challenging class wherever you go...but she makes it worse. i had to teach myself. her quizzes are ridiculous. she tells u to study one thing and ask a different thing on her quizzes.. her accent is horrible! try to avoid her if possible.
GOOD teacher, she takes her time explaining, if you dont understand something just ask her she will explain. Final is worth 40% but she gives you h.w. worksheets that count for 20% of your final(u do them or u dont, not mandatory but helpfull) she provides study question.
Very interesting class. Very nice professor!!!
This is a difficult course to pass when she teaches it.
She is not a bad teacher but I tell you, it's not easy if you dont study you will not pass. So if you get to the books you will not have a problem with her class. She just basically wants you to study hard, thats it.
TERRIBLE PROFESSOR! DOESN'T TEACH AT ALL! SHE JUST READS OFF THE POWERPOINT THAT COMES WITH THE BOOK! IF YOU READ THE BOOK AND MEMORIZE IT THEN MAYBE YOU'LL HAVE A CHANCE OF PASSING THE CLASS! IF YOU CAN, AVOID HER!
This lady is TERRIBLE! You cant understand her and all she does is read off her question sheet. She doesn't even make up her own tests- she uses the ones from the book which don't always make sense and usually cover material she didnt. And lab since when does lab mean EXTRA LECTURE? Cuz that's what you get with her. Pick someone else if you can!
She was tough, yes, but I really learned my anatomy, and used it in pathophysiology. I got a well-deserved 4.0 in her class. Definitely not a teacher for slackers. She will keep you on your toes and burning the midnight oil. The "Must Learn Terms" system was an excellent learning tool and helped in memorization of location and function.
she is terrible. do not take her. the only thing she does is reading her power point presentation.
She is not so bad at the end. I've learned something. She isnt for slakers. While she is pretty helpfull and understanding.
She is horrible! Asked questions and she didn't know answers. Her study guides ARE NOT what is on the test. You have to practically memorize the text book if you want to pass the class. She gives no extra credit, no points for anything. All she does is read from her power point. I failed her class, yet got an A in the lab, with a different prof.
I disagree with previous comment. Whoever left it eather didnot attend the class oe just a liar. I took Anatomy lecture and lab with her and I choose her again for 2010. I got "A". She can answers all your questions and the questions in the tests are explained in class. She gives extracredit points for participation and bonus questions in the test.
This is a hard class, the material covered is EXTENSIVE but she's a really good teacher and is helpful with questions and flexibility. The class is a hard class no matter what but you are guaranteed to learn the material with this teacher. Do the homework review..very helpful on tests...
THE WORSE TEACHER EVER!!! SHE TALKS TO HER SELF AND TO THE BOARD. THE WORSE IS THAT SHE THINKS YOU ALREADY KNOW THE MATERIAL AND YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY! SO SHE "TEACHES" LIKE IF IT WAS JUST A REVIEW TO THE STUDENTS-PLEASE AVOID HAVING HER AS ONE OF YOUR TEACHERS IN YOUR SCHEDULE!!!
She is THE BEST!!!!, she tries really hard to make sure ytou understand the material and she is extremely helpful and always willing to answer any questions you might have, I got an A, take her if yoiu want a good Biology lab Prof.
she is the worst teacher ever, the class is hard and she doesnt explains you need to figure everything on your own, she gets upset when you ask, her quizes are super hard and of course the test, she never tells you what to study and she tries to confuse you, her accent is horrible, and she has an strong personality,
Owesome prof!!! She is kicking the butts all around, really knows her science 100%. I took AP biology in high school, it was not nearly as interesting as in this lab. Some girls in my class found her hard. If you want a professor who chalenges you and lighting your mind take Dr.Elfa. Highly recommended!!!
very nice professor. Just make sure that you know how to ask questions and asking the right questions. Her quizzes are hard but you can find it in the book. study, skim the book, and make sure that you listen to what she said in class, you will find it's very helpful for the test.
ALL THIS PEOPLE THAT TALK CRAP IS PROBABLY BEACAUSE THEY FAILD HER CLASS AND ARE PISSED. SHE'S NOT EASY BUT SHE GIVES YOU STUDY GUIDES, WORKSHEETS, AND SHE TEACHES YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR THE TEST.
SHE IS THE WORST TEACHER, SHE GIVES NO STUDY GUIDES, HER TEST ARE REALLY HARD, SHE GETS USPET IF YOU ASK HER ANY QUESTIONS, SHES VERY RUDE AND SARCASTIC
DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!, SHE IS REALLY RUDE AND SARCASTIC, ASSUMES THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW EVERYTHING, SHE GET UPSET IF YOU ASK HER FOR ANY QUESTIONS, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR GRADES!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! she is EXTREMELY rude and sarcastic, extremely hard tests and quizes, if you care about ur grades do not take her
YES, SHE MAY NOT BE EASY BUT SHE SURE TEACH WELL AND I THINK ALL THATS SAID IS BULL CRAP, NO PRE/MED CLASSES ARE EASY AND IF YOU DONT STUDY AND KNOW THE MATERINAL YOU SHOULD NOT EXPECT TO PASS THE CLASS. I THINK ALL THE OTHER COMMENT ARE CRAP AND SHE IS A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR. BIO IS NOT AN EASY SUBJECT MATTER SO HAVE SOME SELF EMPATHY PPL AND START
She is a very knowledgeable, Expert in biology, your guaranteed to learn. Im a premed student and can say I learned a lot, she'll make you feel mcat ready lol. Im definetly going to take her for BSC 2010/2011. I will recommend her for all BIO courses if you truly want to learn. OH and by the way Slackers stay away THERE IS STUDYING INVOLVED!!!
She's an excellent professor. Lectures are very interesting and I did learn a lot with her.
She is INCONSIDERATE but she does teach. A quiz every week, 10 minutes, 10 questions, and these quizzes are harder than the midterm and she does make her own questions so don't expect to search questions online. You also have a lab every week, those aren't that bad but study the PP and watch ALL the videos she post. You have to STUDY to pass
GREAT professor! She teaches and gives real-life examples. Her power points are the best study guides. Study and follow directions and you will do great in her class. Homework is very simple. Tests and quizzes are hard but if you study her power points you will be fine. Lab is fun.
Very difficult class for no reason. Midterm is 30% and final is 30% everything else barely counts for anything. Homework is also very harshly graded. Only one or two kids ended with an A most were borderline failing. midterm is hard but final was easy. STUDY THE POWERPOINTS AND PAST QUIZZES. challenge grades you feel are unfair.
This professor is beyond cool, she reads her PowerPoints and quizzes you on exactly that. She loves what she teaches and it shows. Just pay attention and study as usual. Guaranteed an A.
Dr. Shabashvili was a pleasure to have. You have to work hard for your grade, but if you get an A it means you left with a good understanding of biology. Her lectures were engaging and made the material easier to understand and applicable to real life. I recommend her!
This is not the easiest class, but Dr. Shabashvili will 100% help you learn Biology. Her lectures are entertaining, and she's hilarious. Her assignments help you practice and understand the course. She's also easy to communicate with. You have to work to get an A, but by the end of the semester, you'll have a good understanding of Biology.
Midterm and Final are unfairly weighted (60%), while the labs are almost insignificant (20%). Quiz almost every week so study slides intensively. Too harsh on lab grading; tends to remove too many points. Most look up answers on exams to get A's in the course. Lab instructions are disorganized and confusing. Boring lectures; just reads off slides.
One word MID, everything was MID
Attend class, study the PowerPoints, and you have this class in the books guaranteed! Prof. Shaba puts forth effort to make the lectures interesting, she creates analogies for the topics so they stick with you. She is also available before any exam for questions! Would totally take again :)
Lectures are boring and hard to understand. A student told her during class that she was scared to ask questions because the prof was unapproachable, and the prof got mad at the student. It's not an easy class, you have to work hard to pass.
Do not take classes with this professor. Her grading criteria is inconsistent and can be incoherent. She has on multiple occasions attempted to teach material that was entirely, objectively incorrect. She is incredibly rude to all of her students and has unrealistic expectations for what students should 'already know'. Don't Bother.
She is caring and wants you to ve able to explain the process. The quizzes are in the middle of 2 classes on the same topic. You don't really know the whole concept before the quiz. UNLESS, you read the ppt. As long as you understand you are good. Before each quiz she has a Q and A about the ppt. Plus do hw on time. She memorized all of our names.
This professor is fair, if you take the time to do the homework, you can ask questions about whatever you had trouble with during her lectures. She gives good feedback and covers everything that is important during the lectures. If you want an "A" you can get one in this class but you have to put the time and effort in. She is a good teacher.
Although this professor has hardships with communicating with the class, she is very helpful when you reach out to her. She will answer your questions and also listen attentively to your concerns. There are quizzes every week, and the quiz and test questions are straight from the experiments or her power points so study them and you will do fine.
Reads off pp and then gets upset when we don't understand the topic. If you do two things wrong in a lab report, she'll take off at least 20 points. Doesn't answer emails. If you ask her a question, she'll tell you to search it up or answer it indirectly. I know at least 6 students out of 13 that have a grade lower than a 70. Regret taking her.
This professor is by far the worst I have had in MDC. For starters, her accent is hard to understand. She gives no make-ups no extra credit no rounding grade. Does not know how to direct the class. Does not like criticism. Had 9 quizzes and non of them you could see what you got wrong. On an assignment with 30 questions got 6 wrong, and gave me a D
Professor is challenging but fair. Be sure to review all power points and videos assigned.
Great professor, everything that was taught in the lectures are in her exams, you have to put little to no effort to fail with her as your professor.
You can do well in this class if you make sure to review the resources she gives you and do the homework assigned, but make sure to study for the tests by reviewing all the powerpoints she has for the exams.
Not the easiest class, requires a good amount of studying and there are pop quizzes given every class. However, her lectures are very clear and understandable. She is very knowledgeable, and is a very nice, compassionate professor. Make sure to participate, she always tries her best to make sure you understand the material.
This professor is very knowledgeable, but I wouldn't recommend it if you don't feel like studying a lot. She also provides zero help if you're on the verge of a grade. ALOT of Pearson HW.
Dr. Shabashvili is a very knowledgeable professor. She is kind, fair, and understanding with her students. You have to do your part by attending class, participating, studying, and doing all you homework to pass with a good grade. You can always contact her if you need help with anything.
Amazing Professor! I enjoyed taking her anatomy class!
She is the worst
the reviews on here are by her. do not be fooled-- difficult to understand, poor at teaching, and no mercy with grading. for tests (if they are online) you can use the internet...... shes doesnt use blackboard locks...... if that did not exist I would have failed. most of the class got a C. def do not recommend the prof!!!
Professor Shabashvili is honestly the worst prof i ever taken. She has rude and slick comments. She will not help you in any way, if she does then she has no idea what she is talking about. She does not give extra credit and if you ask, she will laugh at your face. Had to drop for the sake for my GPA. She also doesn't go by the syllabus.
DO NOT TAKE HER! This professor is not good at teaching, she just reads off the PowerPoint and when asked a question she just says figure it out. When grading labs, she will not explain what you did wrong, only put incorrect and just give a terrible grade. No extra credit, no makeups, point blank period. Save your gpa and avoid taking this teacher.
She genuinely has no respect for her students. I asked her a question once and she laughed in my face and told me to improve my reading skills. Made comments about my race. Incomprehensible and unorganized lectures. Gives no lenience or consideration for tech difficulties or late assignments. Passive aggressive and her classroom is stress-inducing.
Says "I don't know what else to give you guys today," as if it isn't her literal job to conduct these classes. Her lectures have no coherent structure. Speaks in a condescending tone whenever she is asked a question. Gives only 1-2 days to complete assignments. A rude person and clearly is not passionate or knowledgeable in biology. Not inclusive.
excellent professor!
explains everything clearly.
Save your gpa and don't take this class. She's not good at explaining things and is a tough grader, but won't actually tell you what's wrong. Very rude and disorganized
If you take her online (MDC Live) you'll be fine. Just make sure to do ALL the pearson assignments because they can't be made up and honestly that is what makes or breaks your grade, not even the exams. I dont know how she is with In-Person teaching but on zoom just participate now and then and do the homework.
Professor Shabashvili is great! She prepares you well for her tests, and if you use the studying resources that she gives, there should be no surprises. She makes due dates very clear and always reminds you. I took her night lab and the experiments we did were all very interesting. If you are actually interested in learning Biology, take her class.
1st class= sillabus,2nd she asked if we wanted her to actually teach?and then never again... first 12 mins of class u have a 10 question quiz based on the report. connection issues due to wifi?she dont care(shes not a tech)grade = F NO MAKE OVERS PERIOD. questions abt the packet? ..she says she dont know...????
this professor, is a fast reader and also has a hard accent. and gives us 5 minutes to answer 2-5 questioned quizes every class, i wish she could slow down !!
Terrible. If I knew how difficult grader and how rude she is I would have never took her class. Very rude and I have learned not one thing. PASS on this professor !
This prof might be one of the worst I've had at MDC. She's insanely nit-picky on assignments + has zero passion for biology which is unfortunate for the students who want to learn. She was reported to the board by several different students for not teaching the subject matter, how she grades, etc, and it seems she just got a slap on the wrist.
This class is not hard it is content heavy with lab reports every class, quizzes every class, and two exams. The professor makes it easy with how things are spaced out. You have plenty of time to complete the assignments. Each quiz is not hard and are based on what you learned in the lab reports and lecture from the previous class. I recommend her.
I highly recommend Professor Shabashvili. She explains clearly, organizes her lectures well, and responds to emails quickly. Quizzes are based on lab reports and lecture PowerPoints, and there are only two tests. The labs are very interesting. She truly cares about her students—one of the best I've had!
Lab professors are supposed to teach the material before labs. She didn't even teach until some classmates reported her to the department, and after that the lectures were forced and insanely lackluster. She'll always find things to deduct points for even on a A+ worthy report. If she ever liked Biology, it seems she isn't interested anymore
Professor Shabashvili was great! She cares for her students and is clear with her teaching. She has quizzes at every start of the class based on last week's lab class, the questions on the quiz are exactly on what she is teaching. She gives feedback on all of her lab reports. She will respond to your emails quickly and set up a meeting if needed.
Professor Elfa was great. Her lectures are pretty straight forward. She explains everything very clear. I would recommend her class.
Professor Shabashvili was an excellent anatomy lab instructor. She explained complex material in a way that was easy to understand and always made the lab sessions engaging and informative. She was approachable, patient, and genuinely cared about her students' success. Her enthusiasm for anatomy was contagious and made a big impact. Wouldrecommend!
She is organized and has mastery & experience on her field. If you take advantage of her knowledges, you will learn a lot. You need to be dedicated on homeworks, use the attemps she gives. Be on time on her classes, Ask her if you have doubts and practice with the pdfs; PAL, and máster terms that she gives you. I liked the classes, I learned lots.
Professor Shabashvili is strict but engaging. Her pop quizzes demand consistent studying, and the practicums are challenging yet crucial to your grade. She pushes students to learn and keeps lectures interactive. If you're ready for an intellectual challenge, do your homework and stay prepared. Highly recommended for disciplined learners -Joseph
Quizzes/ tests that are worth the majority of your grade are based on content not taught in her class or even the lecture which is makes unfair. I finished with an A in lecture and would study all her powerpoint material and would fail to get anthing above a C. This class is 100% unfair to paying students who need a good grade to transfer.
Please do not take this class out of all my eight classes this semester this LAB was by far the worst. This teacher is rude and dislikes being a professor and all of her students. Also you only have one day to do the entire lab assignment and their is a hard quiz every week. Midterm and final are 60% of your grade and they aren't easy. stay away
She's an amazing professor who genuinely cares about her students. Initially intimidating, but she made me feel at ease. Challenging tests, but prep helps. I'd definitely take another class with her - fantastic teacher!
Great professor overall, ready to help those who ask for guidance. As long as you take a good look at the material given in class, you'll do more than fine. Straightforward and easy to understand.
The professor is very nice but strict. She is a great teacher, she cares about getting you to understand and is always open to questions. I took her for a 16 week course, there were 3 practicums each weighted at 20% of your final grade and an assignment due every week. The class isn't too hard as long as you pay attention and learn from homework.
Dr. Shabashvili is knowledgeable, funny, and welcoming, but her lab is extremely difficult. Despite her strong background and engaging lab presence, grades rely on heavily weighted, nearly impossible LockDown Browser evals with questions not found in the material. Extra credit is only 2% Beware.
Awesome teacher who works with students to help them perform at their highest levels, I recommend. Easy to get in contact with. The structure of the class is easy to follow. One of my favorite classes so far.
i honestly think professor Shabashvili is a very knowledgeable person and she does care about her students. i had an awesome semester with her you just have to dedicate time to study and you will definitely pass
she is extremely rude and makes very disheartening comments to you.she wrote feed back one time on a assignment that "she sees me failing the class".she makes the quizzes herself and sometimes writes the question so confusingly that my dog could probably write better.
Do not take her class. She is very rude, argues with students, and creates a stressful, unwelcoming environment. Weekly quizzes are only 10 minutes—late = fail. No make-ups, no extra credit. Practicums use LockDown Browser, and her confusing, self-made exams make learning unnecessarily frustrating.
Dr. Shabashvili is clear in her expectations. Her lectures are clear and highlight the important aspects of the materials. There is an independent aspect to the course which is where i think most people struggle but that's any upper level science class. Love this Professor very kind very knowledgeable. Tests are hard but not unfair.
Interact with the material outside of class the lectures and the exams are clear and accessible. A-lot of people expect the professors to give them all the answers and teach everything in a one hour lecture which just isn't possible. She goes over all the bulk material and answers any questions very knowledgeable. Great class, clear expectations.
Dont take this professor, she is disrespectful, makes passive aggressive comments to students in class. Her courseworks don't align with practicums which is your main grade. If you pay for your classes pick another professor, she doesn't care to teach. Don't let the good comments fool you the worse professor I have ever had. She should retire.
