Good teacher, she really knows her subject. There is a lot of reading and work, but it is not too hard if you put in an effort.

Easy A, the books assigned are an easy read. Participate and she'll love you. She's very nice, I've never had a reason to meet with her out of class, most of the stuff I already knew. High school atmosphere, her accent isn't hard to understand.

very highschool'esque class...4 mult. choice quizes, midterm and final (all multiple choice 50 questions) do the reading, attendance points count- do the work easy A...no tricks, no favorites, very straightfwd.

Wonderful class, wonderful teacher, and to top it all off, super easy. I tell everyone I know to take this class. You'll learn a whole lot, engage in interesting class discussions, and pick up an easy A along the way.

Tests can be tricky, but she does a great job of getting you interested in sociology.

I used to think that sociology is all bollocks but taking her class made me consider that it's one heck of a course! IF you are willing to listen to her and actually be engaged in her class, you'll do fine. People who rate her bad probably just dont give a care, or they want the easy way out. And that's not learning. I recommend this professor!

Chill class. Show up for class and pay attention, read both your reader and your text and you will do well. It just comes down to doing the work if you dont get a B or an A ur just lazy!!! I dont feel sorry for those kids who dont show up and do the work,

This class is pretty relaxing. Read when you can and participate in class discussion and you will do well. Show that you are putting at least some effort into this class. Prof. Gheytanchi means well and wants her students to do well. She won't trick you, but she wants you to be a thinker.

Great professor!! Very fun class and captues your attention with her intellectually stimulating lectures and topics. Take the class and you'll learn a lot. She is a very understanding professor and takes her time with all of her students. I highly recommend her and you'll have a lot of fun with sociology.

I got an A in her class, but I read those books like the bibble and Sociology became my new religion. LOL She made me change my study habits and major. Can be hard. If you don't like reading and cumalitive quizes don't take her. Lectures are the shiznit, however she unhelpfull with questions. Does not go over quizes! Easily irritated by students.

I believe people who complained about her are lazy. I did not study really hard but I still got an "A". You just have to follow her instructions, read the text book,you will be fine. As long as you have common sense, this class will be an easy A! I didn't even do excellent on all of my quizzes and tests, but I still got an A. She is a bit snappy and you should do the reading, but I didn't feel like I did much studying at all. Great class, not for people who still think they're in high school!

Those who complain are lazy. All you have to do in the class is participate in the conversations and you'll get an A, even if you don't do so well on the quizzes and tests. If you wanna participate, you have to do the readings... Come on, you;re taking a soc class. thats the most interesting class you'll take, at least do the reading. Great class

She is really helpful. the tests are multiple chioce, and you can easily get an A. Just remember to participate in discussions.

Her accent isn't that bad at all, and she seems knowledgable in her field. She does seem to have a problems stimulating discussions at times, but just read the text and study her outline for the final.

Her tests are hard but she curves it, usually adding about 20% to the grades. Even if you dont do well on any of the tests, you can manage an A by participating alot and asking questions. The final paper is a big part of the grade, but you have the whole semester to work on it and its not difficult. she also spend endless classes discussing it.

She lectures straight from the book, but adds concepts not covered in the text. You'll see 2 films, Stanford Prison Experiment & Killing Us Softly. Tests can be tricky so important to study definitions and identify scenarios. Grades on a curve which is helpful. Report is 30% of grade.

She is a very sweet lady and very willing to help. I took the 8 week online class and there is a discussion and a quiz every week. The discussions are really easy, but the quizzes and test, especially tests, are super hard. You have to really study hard inorder to get a passinf grade on them!

Test are good and esay according to how well you read b/c its set on a time limit so make sure you know the material. Participate in the discussion also she gives extra credit.

AMAZING TEACHER!!! I took this class online and it was great!!Theres lots of reading but if you do all the readings your sure to get an A or B. I got an A and read most of the stuff..theres no point in reading "the reader" unless its for a discussion so stick to reading "the text" and if you understand the material you are sure to get an A.

GREAT CLASS .. I took it online, and it was clear and easy. There is ALOT of reading but thats basically all.. no paper's or assignments just a weekly discussion. All you really need to do is read the text and you should get an A or B in the class.. quizzes are pretty straight forward i would definitely recommend this class

Took her online class. It was hard only because you have to teach yourself without the lectures, but she drops the lowest test and curves final grade. Ended up with an A. I recommend this class for those students who are self motivated.

This class was by far the EASIEST class I have ever taken. I was actually quite scared to take this class at first after reading these comments from other students, but once the class started and I saw how straight forward and easy it was, I concluded that these commentators must have been complete idiots. Not too much work at all. Very tolerable.

I took her online. The papers each week were fun but the quizzes were hard. I read but it didn't seem to help for the midterm or final. I ended up with a B and did not learn a thing except what Naciremas were. Would not recommend her as an online professor because she is not much help

I really loved this course. I took it online, and the class was easy, but challenging at the same time. It's a breeze, and the discussions were always really inspiring and interesting. She wasn't always clear about finals and exams, so be sure to really ask if you want to know what to study.I recommend her if you want a light, and fun class!

She is very helpfull, and does care alot about her students and their succes in the class. For all of you who say she's rude and unhelpfull, she is Persian, she's not rude, but her answers are short and to the point. You should have learned the cultural thing in class... She will go beyond most to make sure you do well if you just put effort.

I'm currently taking her online and although she is not very enthusiastic I find the class to be very easy. If you read the text you'll be fine. She grades very reasonably and discussion topics are interesting. Just read, do your work, and you'll get an easy A.

Flaws built into the Online System made class feel slightly disconnected. Truthfully, you're in college. To succeed in the future you must be a self-starter. Nothing in the class is too hard and you can earn any grade that you want. READ THE BOOKS, engage in discussions, think and speak freely. She doesn't condemn you for having different views.

I took the summer online course (soc analys.) with this professor. Though the class is not very exciting, the professor laid out the material in a straightforward manner and set out very fair deadlines. She responds to emails in a timely fashion, and her grading is also extremely fair. Read the textbook, do the assignments and you'll get an A.

I took her Soc Analysis class during a 6 week Summer semester. Due to the limited time, the class went super fast however, the pace was tolerable and the format of the class was straight forward. She grades fairly and is responsive to emails if you have questions or concerns. She works with you and wants you to get the best grade possible.

A Well rounded Class. The supplemental study guide that comes with the Pearson text includes different material than the actual Midterm and Final Exams. Other than that this professor is very fair.

Class was very interesting; I learned a lot about people in general, topic was very interesting. Prof. isn't good at responding to emails in a timely manner and has hard quizzes. She chose small questions that didn't have much relativity the actual chapter itself.

Great professor, take her if you need an sociology 1 credit! One online discussion each week and one online quiz every other week. If you read the assigned chapters you will be fine, she sticks to the material and only asks students to read what we will be tested on or discuss. Definitely recommend she's there to help you succeed and shows it.

Professor Gheytanchi was great! Everything was crystal clear and she usually responded withing minutes whenever you emailed her. Discussions every week where she posted a question (not essay), a quiz almost every week, midterm and final. Questions were straight from the book, and then an extra credit. Easy and interesting class!

There are many poor reviews about this online class, so I was very apprehensive to take this course. If you study and do the class discussions, an A is very easily attainable.

As an international student, I was afraid this course would be too hard for me but if you do ALL the readings and study then it would be fine. This course is mostly textbook based and there are discussions every week that are interesting. Professor replies fast with emails, questions, etc. As long as you work for the grade, it will be yours!

She called me per my request to help me understand the feedback that was provided. Very helpful! Took the 8 week course so things are more condensed. A quiz every other week, a discussion every week (make sure you reply at least 4 times. She says 2 but trust me on this). Midterm and final 50 questions each. Very interesting subject by the way!

This professor deserves a higher rating. If you ask her for help and how you can improve in the class she will tell you. She really wants students to engage in the discussion and think critically. There were quizzes, however, weren' hard if you study five days in advance. She cares and wants to help you succeed if you put in the effort.

I took the online session for 8 weeks. Majority of the grade is the discussion posts and quizzes-- do well on these! They aren't very long and are very straight forward. The midterm and final are similar to the quiz. I recommend this class it was actually interesting and the content was organized.

This was one of the easiest courses I've taken in my life. I don't know why she has such a low rating. If you just want the easy A, then just BS the discussions (she's the easiest grader), and take the quizzes (middle school difficulty). If you actually want to learn, then read and study the material. Class is perfect for all types of students.

We had about 4 quizzes, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Every week there were discussions that needed to be completed. Her quizzes were mostly from the textbook but wasn't hard what so ever if you read the readings for the week. I was able to rent my textbook from amazon the link she gave was so unnecessary do not spend the $98 save your money.

Not difficult content, but very time-consuming. I had to dedicate AT LEAST 1+ full day to sociology. Found the textbook for free on Reddit (save your money). Very reading heavy and quizzes are the main weight of grade. Messed up on one quiz, and tanked my final grade to an 89. Readings are interesting but are in large amounts.

I just finished a summer class with her and it was so easy! I don't get why she has bad reviews. I found the textbook free on reddit but I barely used it. All she requires are discussion posts/replies and quizzes. As long as your discussion posts are thoughtful and well written you'll do great. I highly recommend her.

A very easy class, the class is dependent on discussions and quizzes. Two exams, a midterm and a final and usually a quiz & discussion every week. The discussions were fun and quizzes pretty easy. Lots of reading was assigned but is definitely manageable.

Not sure why the reviews are so low... I took her online 8-week course and it was not only incredibly interesting, but it was quite easy as well. She was an easy grader when it came to assignments. Only complaint was the limited time for quizzes and tests (11 minutes for 10 questions), but the questions are not hard so it makes sense. Easy A.

I would take Sociology with her over and over again. She is amazing and very nice. She gave me an add code last minute and I have so much respect for her. She grades fairly and on time. Take sociology 1 with her!!

I love her class, its mostly short quizzes and discussion posts. The only thing I would say took a majority of time was reading the book however it's a great read. Don't buy the book you can find a online pdf for free. The quizzes are extremely easy however they are timed as are the final exam questions. I would 100% take her again.

Took her 6 week class over the summer as my first ever SMC class and was pleasantly surprised! Usually one discussion post per week + a quiz every other week or so, a midterm, and a final. Very low maintenance class while also being genuinely very interesting. I experienced some tech difficulties during our final exam and she was very understanding

I took this class over the summer, by far the easiest class ever. Its a good way to keep up to date with events and past events that has or had happened. There was no zoom so attedance obviously didn't matter. But your participation towards the discussions do. There is no right or wrong answer as its based on your own opinion and thinking.
