Coolest stuff in the world!
This class is in Abnormal Psych. He is pretty easy and discreet in what he wants. Explains thoroughly. midterm and final only and bases grade of class on what the class is getting all round.

Interesting and very smart professor.I highly recommend him eventhough he gives hard exams-he also gives huge curves, so don't be afraid .
Good Prof. He explains his stuff very well. The exams are kinda tricky and you might think that you totally messed up. You'll be surprised when you see how much he curved though. The book and his notes are golden. Good Luck!

hard tests, tells a lot of stories in hypnosis, but asks about them on the exams. come to class, and pay attn. for hypnosis final, study all the cases in the back of the course pack inside out!
This professor reminds me of the clear eyes guy in the commercials. very boring and not helpful. i repeated this class because i couldn't stand his teaching style. his exams are hard. the textbooks are more confusing then him. Steer clear
Hard tests but GREAT curves, so don't stress too hard. TAKE GOOD NOTES! Nice guy, interesting and concise. WORTH TAKING!

He's a nice buy but he doesn't teach much. He gives case studies and reads from DSM. You have to read the book on your own. Take this class for an easy B DO NOT expect to learn much (although that seems to be the theme with every class at BC).

He's really boring and his tests are really hard...each question is like a page long and a case study..60-80Q per test...he curves but don't expect an A..prolly a B at most or B+. Avoid him!
His exams are easy if you pay attention to him in class. You need to listen to what he says rather then take a million notes. He doesn't give a lot to read, but he does expect you to know the work. The exams are very in depth, so read the questions carefully and look at all the answers. Very smart.
It was a very interesting class and he is an awesome professor though it was not easy. Must read the book and know the material and very important to be in class and pay attention. The exams are based on a lot of information covered in class.
He blabs and blabs, very hard to absorb material he teaches. avoid this class.
He is ok, tries to be funny but you laugh at his attire more. Listen carefully to all his stories, they are on his test. Every last story is on the test. 60 questions all long and complex. Great curve though...
He talks and talks and talks. Read the book and listen to his stories and you will be fine. I wished I would have had gameboy in his class to help the time pass by faster. If you are tired dont come to class, he will put you to sleep. Other than that an okay prof.
b he talks the entire period about case studies and you feel like u dont have to take notes bc he doesnt seem to be teaching,just blabbing- u dont learn abnormal psych- its easy to understand him and get through the semester but his tests are ridiculous bc even if u know the material he states them weirdly-bad grader dont take w him.

He does not teach at all, the only thing you learn is hypnosis is sugested. He makes his tests very hard is what i dont understand because he does not teach at all. I heard he favors girs over boys. Ialso heard that there is no point of cheating beacuse no one no the answere. HE GAVE ME A C AND I DID NOT LEARN ANY THING AT ALL. WHAT A PROFESSOR
What everyone else said. He talks the whole time in a semi-rambling fashion. His tests are easy (multiple choice), and if you pay attention & read the (boring) book you'll pass. Take lots of notes (despite what he says) & review them before the test. Be willing to engage him & talk, or else you'll be bored. Show up, each class will be on the test.
I found him helpful, very clear on his expectations, gives great notes, and is crystal clear about what he wants you to know, how his tests are structured, etc. He curves the tests, so I don't see what the problem is w/ difficulty - he doesn't dumb down the material! Read the book, don't miss class, and participate. Talk to him... he's nice!
i wish i could erase all of the bad ratings on this professor. if i could, i'd take him for all my psych classes. he's witty and knows an awful lot about abnormal psych. he frequently mentions case studies during the class so if you're absent you're always missing something he might put on the test.
This man has no interest in his students. He is simply there to supplement his income. He is so boring I wanted to just slap him. All of his material is still in the original notes from the original writers which is not easy to understand. This jerk does not even take the time to put the notes in an easier to understand format. He rambles on and on
Prof Osman is a a very intelligent professor. You can see he has a love for what he does, and teaches the material to you in a way where you really understand it and grasp the concepts.
Wow he just keeps going n going forever, alot of personal experiences, just read the book and find a way to stay awake & his tests are multiple choice (& he curves the grade) so it isnt that bad
you should take his class. there is only a midterm and final. it isnt hard, you just have to read the text book. you have to come to class becasue he reads case studies and they are on the tests. the only time there was ever reading was right before the tests. it was definatly an easy class.
He can be boring at times, but overall, he is INCREDIBLE. If you're looking to learn things, then definitely take this guy. As said above, you can tell he loves his work, and it shows. The only thing I don't really like is that he refers a lot to the textbook. there's no homework, and his exams (midterm and final) are multiple choice.
He is extremely boring.I was excited to get into the class because of the topic, but he didn't know how to teach. Most reading & videos are mandatory, but most of the videos audio were not working (he blamed the school TV 4 ALL his videos not working). Excuse 6 days absent(after that, takes off a letter grade 4 each absent.2 test = VERY HARD & LON
Where do I start? I was excited 2 got in the course, but that all changed. The class was a nightmare. He does not make his own exams. Most videos had NO audio, and they were on the exams. He & the reading were extremely boring! The exams were too long & too peculiarity! The only good things: hearing interesting stories and cheap reading package.
HORRIBLE. DO NOT TAKE HIM! hes very boring and its hard to pay attention. i was excted to take this class and it wasnt bad untill the 3rd week or so. he only gives a final and a midterm for which he does not review. most of the class failed the midterm. hes very anal, thinks hes always right and makes students feel stupid who argue valid questions.

VERY VERY VERY VERY BORING. I have never fallen asleep in class before his. He's a likable guy and talks alot about his own experiences, but other then that BORING. Midterm and final. No homework.. alowed 6 absences. Hard tests but if you study and read you will do fine.
He is the best teacher ever. i would take him for all my classes if i could. I changed my major to psy because of him. his tests arent that hard and he curves. he is such a sweet person. come to class, take notes and read the book and you will get an A. He is the best. i dont know how anyone could dislike him. a must take!!!!!!!!!
Definitely has a passion for what he does, and it shows in class. Keeps you interested,and he curves exams. If you go to class and read the book, you will do fine.
The class is fun at the beginning but it gets repetitive and boring after a while. When you're done with the class you'll realize that you've learned nothing. The awful things is that while the material that's on his tests is in the reading, the tests are really hard because the questions are NOT clear at all. You read them 6 times and then guess.
Learned a ton from Professor Osman. His lectures are long, but fascinating. Tests were hard, but not unreasonable IF YOU STUDY THE BOOK. Just let the rest of your class set the curve and bring earplugs to dampen their incessant whining about how bad the exams are, you?ll do fine. Oh yeah, STUDY THE BOOK.
the best psy professor i ever had
Not great. Not terrible. Average prof. thus an average quality class. Would have done fine but had to take final during the next semester because of scheduling conflict. I tried to get a hole of him but he is unreachable! He was absent for the 2 weeks before the final, doesn't check email, attend office hours or return calls. You can take better
Had him for abnormal and absolutely regret it! I read every word of the textbook and and found practice questions online but all that preparation was pointless for the rediculous questions he asks on tests. They are vague and dont test ur knowledge on abnormal psy. Very dissapointed! dont reccomend at all.
Prof/Dr. Osman is just lovely. Nice man & knowledgeable. He's not very animated & tends to go off tangent so be awake & alert & attentive. No homeworks for this class. Just read, show up, midterm & final. He's VERY fair & open to questions, concerns, etc. He doesn't pick on anyone. He's good natured, easy going & sweet. Definitely take his class!
My comment is below. I screwed up on the ratings! These are the correct ratings. Sorry for the error! Again, Dr. Osman is wonderful. Not tough & makes everything as easy & as clear as possible. The rest (studying, knowing the material) is up to you. He loves the material he teaches which makes all the difference. I'm very happy I took his course.

Prof. Osman is an amazing teacher and a wonderful person! He is there for you when you actually ask for help! I learned a lot from his lectures and it helped me through some personal stuff! I would take more classes with him if available!
Prof. osman is great- he really understands what he's talking about. I took him for Psych 30, 32.1 and 37 and I can totally listen to him and understand the material. He gets off on tangents and they're are cool when they're fun.
He may be a nice professor but his exams are extremely hard. His lectures are extremely boring and do not help for the exam. You have to read everything from the text book in order to well.
A wonderful professor! I loved the real life stories and the material is very useful and applicable to real life experiences. I would take another course with this professor!
Don't agree with any of the negative comments! he is very very interesting, perfoms demostration in Hypnosis class - manages to put into trance nearly every subject! If you are into psychology and hypnosis take him, he won't put u to sleep, but instead surprise you with more practical knowledge!
so here is the deal, he is boreing. Classes are not mandatory. However, if you dont go you wont do well on the test which is impossible i studied and couldnt do well n his multiple chice. Reading the question was a test on its own. Please dont take!For your own sake
the nicest professor i ever had. his classes are really funny and interesting, he really loves his subject. not hard to do well at all so long as you read the text. attendance is neither necessary nor mandatory. he grades based on class rank not grades, if i was a psych major i would take him for every class. if i got an A, so can you.

Honestly,don't take this class unless necessary. He's all over the place. Lectures are discussion of pictures in the txtbk. Exams(~50 MC)are determined as you go. He's just too laid back and the students end up suffering. Chptrs are ~30 pgs long of dense material and he put 8 chptrs on an exam cuz we ran out of time. Horrible experience.
He isn't the easiest professor ever, but he is fair enough that if you go to class, you can get a B or an A. Just read the book and know the material. He has years of experience as a psychotherapist, so he relays a lot of personal information and it can be scattered. Just take notes and really understand the concepts in the book and you can do ok.
He does ramble but I found it to be pretty insightful. He has years of experience in psychotherapy. His class format is very easy to follow. Two exams worth 50% of your grade, each on 4 chapters from the book. I wanted to take the course to advance my knowledge of psychotherapy and I found just that thank to professor Owen.
This class can be boring, and he tends to ramble. However, he's a very intelligent man with a lot of experience in Psychotherapy. His exams are not bad. Read the book (the terms for each chapter are in the glossary!!) or at least go to class and take some notes. He's a nice guy, and I really enjoyed his class.
Hypnosis class was a SNOOOORRRREEE. Everyone slept and text.First hand stories abt his experiences were interesting but material to read for class was boring. His voice is monotonous and fits the "hypnosis" voice. Don't sleep thru videos. They appear on multiple choice exams. All in all not bad but not great either.
Jesus in heaven. I never did so much sleeping in a class before. No doubt his hypnosis skills are top notch but this guy is horrible as a professor. He's all over the place and gives you so much to read from magazines and newspaper clippings you can't really go over all of it in class and , NO, you don't go over it in the next lecture either.
I really enjoyed this class. He showed a lot of interesting videos and told stories relevant to the topics. There are only 2 test the midterm and the final. The only complaint I have is that you need to know a lot about the stories in the book for the midterm and final. Other thank that I enjoyed this class.
Wow this guy is ridiculous. He's nice but his tests are sooo hard! I would never take this guy again.
Good person, very understanding. You can tell that he has been a psychotherapist for a long time. His test were hard but not very hard like people are claiming. You have to watch his videos, and read the newspaper clippings they are part of the questions. Problem is that he becomes very unclear and puts things on the test that were not covered.

Okay, so I will tell you exactly how his class is. He is VERY boring but if you actually pay attention in his class (which is hard because you'll be sleeping you'll get an easy A! I slept everyday and managed to get a B because I read the textbook. DONT FALL BEHIND
Nice guy BUT tests are very hard. In order to do well (B or above) you should basically read every inch of the chapters he assigns. Videos are interesting. Just prepare for a lot of textbook reading. He won't warn you on this. Attendance is mandatory. READ TEXTBOOK THOROUGHLY.
exams are TOTALLY different than his lectures. no assignments or hw or papers but he has 2 exams which r based on the textbook ONLY. he curves but if u fail one exam you r finished. he is nice and lenient with attendance but I would def not recommend.
I'm a pre-health major and I'm not the smartest one at that, but I was able to get the top exam grade on every test (he posts them on a projector for all to see, with anon ID codes). I don't get how other students do bad. Just read the text and you're set. His exams are very fair and he is not a demanding prof. He is pleasant and knowledgeable.

Very boring. Hard tests. But super nice guy. Study in advance and take notes from the textbook. Lecture time is boring and he shows slides with mostly pictures, so its hard to take notes. But if you use the textbook you'll be fine. Grades on a major curve which is great.
let me start by saying Professor Osman is so nice and very smart. His teaching methods are however not ones i am used to. He uses stuff from 1990s non of his material is updated. You will only do well on the tests if you read the textbook, there are also no other opportunities for points, no homework and no papers. his lectures are random.
Osman is honestly a nice guy, but he is not a great teacher. He reads from the textbook and puts random pictures from the textbook up as slides. His tests are extremely hard and if you want to pass, you must read the textbook. He does curve the test though. I wouldnt recommend this class, if there are other options.
Everything is from the textbook and we were expected to finish all 17 chapters!! He's extremely nice although his lectures are not the best. His lectures are composed of pictures from the textbook.. although it does help you understand the textbook readings a bit more, the lecture does drag. best part is his tests are not cumulative
Professor Osman is a really nice guy but he's not that great at teaching. If you have questions, do stop him & ask because he doesn't mind. His exams are worth most of your grade more than attendance. Honestly, his lectures are not very helpful but if you just read the chapters, you'll do fine on his exams.
You could get a good grade, you could not, it depends on how much you study on your own. Professor Osman will bore you to death if you have him for a long lecture class. Do not take him if you like psychology.
Excellent teacher! Took two classes with him, psychotherapy and hypnosis. Provides loads of information and support to do well in course. Those who were not happy most likely did not want to put any effort into own performance. Class requires reading and attendance of the lectures; there are midterm and final.
Nice guy but the class was boring he reads directly from the slides his exams are difficult but you MUST read the textbook he curves on the exams so that is great! He know what he is talking about but his delivery is just dull. One midterm and a final. Good luck!
Great Professor with many years of experience in the field. Many students are complaining that professor is boring. Well, no professor should be the entertainer. Professor Osman's classes are not boring. They require some concentration and thinking. Be ready to read the material and challenge yourself a bit. Professor is always happy to help.

So if your basically looking for a class that doesn't require much work take him because he doesn't give any homework, no essay or project work at all either. You just have three tests that are based on the chapters in the text book. Everything he talks about is from the text book! He created slides and just reads off of that. He's also pretty nice
good for if you're looking to go into a therapy related career, he shares a lot of useful case stories from his own experience. He's not the most lively guy but he throws in some jokes every now and then. Your rade is fully based on the midterm and final, both are fair. I never opened my textbook, lecture was enough to get me through the tests
I would never in a million years take him again. The lectures are soooooo boring and he just rants on and on about I don't know what. Needs a different style of teaching. Two exams midterm and final and no clear review on them. Avoid him!
Just awful. He does not teach - instead he tells far fetched stories and shows clips that he does not connect to the class. It is never clear what his lectures are about (no topic/focus) or where he is going with it. Oh, and your grade is based on TWO EXAMS (no other assignments). Please if you want to pass this course, DO NOT this guy.

The professor sits down for over an hour and talks and talks and talks. You get the test and it feels like youre taking 2 different courses! What he lectures about has nothing to do with what he tests on. So get ready to read the entire textbook. He gives 3 tests which counts as the entire grade. And you can have up to 3 absences. Avoid this class
i worked so hard for this class came to every class listened took intense notes still managed to get 70s on every test. i knew the material from class so well but when it came to the tests the material was not the same.
Your entire grade is made up of just three tests. His lectures are long and boring and have nothing to do with his tests. He'll tell you that his tests are heavily based on lectures but they're not. Honestly just show up to class, ignore him the entire time, go home and read the textbook because that's the only you'll pass.

Do yourself a favor and don't. His exams are cumulative. A lot of what is on the exam is based on descriptions of previous classes and material that hasn't been covered. I'm generally a forgiving student when rating professors. He does grade on a curve. Which is necessary for just a few students to pass. Just avoid him.
If I could give a 0 I would. Someone mentioned taking lots of notes and still doing poorly on the exams and that's 100% true. He doesn't answer emails and his tests have material he never even talks about in lecture at all! So many audios too. Grade based on just 3 tests, says to do DB posts but that they only "may" influence your grade.
I nearly had a mental breakdown while taking the midterm. Half of his audios are reading straight from article abstracts & describing graphs with no explanation. I listened to hours of audio, took pages of notes and still managed to do poorly on the exam. He's checked out of teaching! DO not take this prof. Never been so frustrated w/ a class... :(
Professor Osman barely teaches remotely in Psychology 1010. He gives audio lectures that are informative, yet boring to hear. You may email him but does not always respond or sometimes avoids your question/advise entirely. The are no zoom meetings so it is hard to ask questions to him. Lazy professor that just throws exams as your entire grade.
Professor Osman is a very kind professor who cares about his students. However, the class is weighed upon three multiple choice 60 question exams which are very difficult, not straight forward, and require deep thinking. This class is definitely not an easy A.
Honestly a sweet and a caring professor, but lectures are a little pointless as the exams are 90% textbook. He grades on a curve, so if you essentially memorize as much of the textbook as you can it is an easy A. He is also SO lenient about makeups, if you have a good reason why you missed or need to reschedule an exam he will be accommodating.
It's just straight up lectures every class just sitting there and listening to the professor read and recap the textbook. Once in a while they will say something interesting and insightful though. As long as you study the textbook hard you'll pass the 3 exams. Only real benefit is there's no hw or projects just pass the 3 exams and you pass.
Alright Professor, but the class is mainly determined by your performance on two exams. Although he curves, the exams are very difficult, so you really need to study the material he posts on Blackboard thoroughly or else you might do poorly. Check if there are any other Professors who are teaching this course first before taking this professor.
I read the reviews before taking this class and thought people might be exaggerating but I can now say that this? WORST class I've ever taken. Unclear what you're actually supposed to be learning. Lectures, textbook, audios are all unrelated to each other. I learned nothing except that some people should retire before they start hating their jobs.

The way he teaches is like reading from a textbook. His audio lectures are also super boring. The grade for this class is based on the three 60 multiple choice exams and he curves unfairly. The only way to really pass and learn from this class is to read the textbook yourself.
Avoid this class at all costs - it's a complete mess. Lectures, textbook, and exams are completely disconnected. unstuck AI could have helped, but even that might not save you.
