Super easy class. Beth is awesome, she is pretty much the happiest person alive. Her face must hurt from smiling so much. She makes lectures interesting. No text book and don't even bother to do the required readings. I didn't do any of them and I did just fine. Easy I&S, her co-prof is super super boring thought so watch out for that

Great guy, bad prof. For a 100, expectations were immense. Rigid late policy, despite many struggling with MISCOMMUNICATED textbook access. Constant assignments. Preached inclusion but gave no accommodations. Overly confusing exam questions. Three whole finals-- a group project, final essay, AND exam. Everyone I talked to said they hated the class.

Eli wheat is my king. I love Eli wheat. If you aren't smiling and laughing when he's talking there is something wrong with you. Will go down as the greatest professor to walk this planet. And this is not an over reaction take the class and see for yourself. Early class would come in tired and Eli made the whole mood change and lighten my day.

Oh how delightful Eli made each class session! He contributed so much, from knowledge to garlic to sourdough starter. I think he travels from Whidbey Island just to teach? I'm sure theres less job opps there, but you can tell he also enjoys what he does and cares for his students and decolonial ways of learning.

Eli was a great person but not a great prof, he would always start with poems and it would usually take more than 10 mins meaning they would usually end late and go into the next period. For ENVIR 100 being a ONE HUNDRED class so much work was given. Confusing exam question, lots of essays, overally mid

I like Eli Wheat as a lecturer, but I have issues with the ENVR100 class structure. It feels disjointed. We hop from subject to subject without much of a throughline to tether the subjects to. For such a broad intro class, you need that organization. They are also pretty unclear and disorganized regarding some assignments, which can be frustrating.

Super easy class. Eli is very passionate about the topic and that shows through his lectures. Made class enjoyable.

Such a sweet guy, the UW needs him because he really cares. But I agree with others, the class felt like a lot of busywork and was a little disorganized. I don't think the group project stuff is useful and it's dumb. Love Eli though. It's not too hard, but show up to class to do the PollEverywhere for credit.

Eli is a great person who cares a lot about teaching and the environment. He taught my class with Dave Montgomery. I didn't particularly enjoy the class but my problems were not with Eli, the TAs were too harsh graders and provided limited guidance on how to succeed. The busy work and unnecessary group projects made the class less enjoyable.

Eli cares a lot about the environment and is a sweet human. However, this class requires a lot more effort than should be expected of a 100 lvl class. Multiple textbook readings and homework assignments per week. 3 outside papers and a group project. Many concepts on the midterm/final not covered in class. Not recommended if not required for major!

He took his time with lectures and bonded with the students in his class, even though it was a large lecture hall. He is approachable, willing to learn, and finds so much joy in what he does (it's contagious). However, he does assign massive reading assignments. Be ready to read 2-2.5 hours around 3 days a week.

For an 100 lvl class, this was not an easy 4.0. Exams are a bit challenging and the grading scale is evil (I have a 93% which is a 3.5). You can only miss a couple of classes because attendance is checked with polls (they drop the lowest few). However, Eli is SO SWEET, passionate & an amazing lecturer. Insightful class, but not the easiest.

He's a good lecturer but the slides had SO much information, and sometimes the exams would require you to remember small details. Just pay attention in lectures or make sure to read the textbook in detail. If you really can't remember something on the exams, just making your best guess will probably be good enough.

Eli is a kind professor, but this class was far more work than expected. Despite reviews saying it was an easy A with no exams, there were 3 exams, 2 weekly quizzes with long readings/podcasts/movies, required participation, group and solo projects, and labs far from central campus—even in the rain. Not worth it as an elective, lots of busy work.

Exam-heavy despite being stressed as a "stress-free" class with group and individual projects and labs that require off-campus commuting. Vague study guides and somewhat difficult exams that emphasized understanding of conceptual knowledge yet also focused on topics only covered once or twice.

Although I love professor Wheat's enthusiasm, I took this class as an easy elective and found it to be extremely test heavy. Lectures were twice a week, but before we would have to view readings and videos which would take at least three hours (if you actually did them). Study guides were not helpful. If your a nutrition minor skip this class.

Eli is a great lecturer and is very passionate about the material. His class is very engaging and well rounded. My only issue was that grading is super slow (I was missing grades from wk 5 until the day grades were due) and the pre lecture quizzes are graded on accuracy but don't always match readings. Slightly disorganized but good overall.

I liked this class, but if you are someone who likes to take notes, Eli Wheat is not the best option. He is a nice guy and very passionate, but he goes through the slides way too quickly for anyone to get any important information down. Makes it very frustrating when you have to go back and rewatch the lectures and waste your time.

Is very passionate and funny but also very informative. He's a farmer, which definitely reflects in his instruction, which I found really valuable. There are 3 exams (MCQ and FRQ portions); your lowest score gets dropped. There are also a few papers and a group project, as well as weekly textbook readings, but this was a very manageable courseload.

Class is super easy but the grading scale is not. A 4.0 was a 98 when I took the class. He reads off the slides during lectures but the slides cover what will be on the exams perfectly. If you memorize all the information on the slides, submit all your work on time, and put good effort into the projects, you will do great without too much stress.
