Good teacher, easy on the eyes, actually knows what she is doing
wonderful fashion sense and smart at books; really is helpful especially as tutor
No Comments
she is willing to spend alot of extra time outside of class to explain things
BACK THAT THANG UP!!!!
all i have got to say is i would take the class just to look at her for an hour two days a week
She is very helpful and explains thoroughly

Get to know her very well, for this professor will guide you to achieve your greatest educational accomplishments. She truly cares and is proactive in showing it. I hope the institutional bureaucracy never sidelines her excellence as an educator.
She will help you the best she could and makes sure that you learn. she cares about her students and is fair when grading.
The first good math instructor I can ever remember having. She's a very cool and understanding lady and she really helps you out if you're struggling.
very clear, explains everything step by step. willing to spend hours with you.

By far the best math professor in the department. She is clear, concise, willing to help and wants everyone to pass. I would recommend everyone to take her classes if they get the chance. Shes so good im taking her again in the spring.
The BEST math professor I have ever had. She is very strict, but go to class and you will learn and do just fine. She has a nice fashion sense too.
She's thorough. Doesn't like to fall behind schedule, but if you need extra help just stop by her office and she'll be glad to talk about it. Best math prof.; hands down.
She is the best math professor anyone can ever take. She's very helpful and makes sure her students understand. She's the best!!

Awww, she is soo cute and nice. Seemed tough at first but she really is awesome and kicks ass at teaching. She helps even the really slow - trust me. haha. Wish I could take her for other classes =(
She is very clear and thorough which is good for a math teacher. she makes you put problems and the board for points and if you are shy about how bad you are at math that could hurt your grade i suggest just going up there and boffing up a problem
She is a very good math professor. You can hardly find any so good. She gives alot of quizzes and tests to help you understand what you did wrong. She has a very good teaching method, and she is funny too. She's very cool. I would recommend her to everyone.
She is the best teacher for math. I like her. She knows the stuff that she teaches and she knows how to make us feel comfortable about it. I thank her from the bottm of my heart for the effort she makes for students.
Geatest teacher I ever had. Interesting and clear about what she taught. if you want to know math take her
DO NOT TAKE HER FOR A SUMMER MATH COURSE! She may be good for math majors, but if you are not a math major and don't know what you are doing, especially in a summer class--you are SOL. Lots of quizzes, homework, a killer final--may be totally different during fall or spring, but her summer class almost killed me!
She is the best professor for math. She is by far very helpfu. Its impossible to fail!!!
not the easiest subjuect in the world, but she does give a partail exam each week with just one problem to prepare you for the actual exams. she does a lot of explaining. i'm terrible at algebra, so i already know I failed the class, but if you're not as bad as me, you'll do fine in her class, she's wonderful and funny too
I can't see why she has a great rating. She forgets important details, and even forgets what we have/havent done. She said that we didnt need to code + provide what we need, but she made us 'write' 3 programs so far. CS major has already given her what he claims 'simple' code that she can't comprehend well. So what's so great about her? Aesthetics?
Numerical Analysis can be a difficult course (come on it's 400level). Like the comment below, she was forgetful, and I too felt that she was not that dedicated to the course. She is approachable and helpful in office hours. I thought her notes were clear after *asking questions* since the book stunk. Overall a decent professor for applied math.
Antoniou maps out how to solve problems in her notes very straightforward and detailed. As long as you show up and pay attention she won't throw any surprises at you. She usually provides a practice test for all of her quizzes and tests. The actual test is pretty much the same test with different numbers. She's great and will help if you ask.
She is a really good professor. The only complaint I have is the amount of homework assigned. I wouldn't mind if she actually looked at the problems that she assigns. Because she assigns really hard problems for homework but only does really easy examples in class. The homework takes FOREVER especially because she assigns so many.
HURRENDOUS! HORRIBLE! ETC., ETC. ETC. Worst class I am currently taking, because she has no idea on how to teach ... stay away!
Took her for Calc and she isn't a bad professor. Overall she knows what she is doing and is willing to explain the problem. She gives decent reviews for tests. The only problem that I had with her is the amount of homework she assigns and the length of her tests. She claims tests are short but you need every second you can get plus 5 more hours.
She is such a great professor. I had her for Calc but please LEARN TO MAKE A TEST THAT WE CAN FINISH IN THE PROVIDED TIME! I don't have a week to finish your test and exams and I have other classes. He homework is also very long and tedious. She can teach great but homework&test are not her specialty.
Absolutely horrible!! She is one of the worst teachers at this school. She plays favorites, doesn't help, doesn't answer questions, hardly in her office, i guess her notes are straight forward but she doesn't teach the material right!! If she doesn't like you don't take her!!
Has to to be the FAKEST person I have ever met. She is really smart so she can solve any problem - the problem is she writes the problems down and solves them, but can't tell you how she got there. You can learn more from each other, then her actually teaching you. She is beyond rediculous. And if you piss her off, she'll turn on you hard-core.
She isn't a bad professor, it is that she lacks the ability to sympathize with the student. In her mind, because she can easily and quickly solve an equation, makes her believe everyone should. Well that isn't always the case. She teaches the subject well but you need to <3 math to take her.
Antoniou is clear and as long as you keep up with her notes you will be OK. Her exams are tough but similar to what she covers in class. I can easily say she is among the best I ever had for Math.
She is cool. Math is not my thing but if you do her homeworks and follow what she teaches in class you will be OK.
Good professor, among the best in the department. She knows how to teach, you just have to do the work.
She makes math bearable!
She is not a bad professor but you need to work hard
I came to class everyday never missed a day busted my buttt and went to tutoring amd she still failed me
awesome
shes just simply amazing! ...you have to do the work, but she makes it easy to understand. i would definitely recommend!!
she is not easy... but a great professor overall... gave extra credit and really explained problems... i suggest preparing for her tests well in advance because it is a coin flip on the difficulty of the test... she is one of the only good math professors that teaches mornings which is a plus for those who don't want to stay around campus late...
The class average just barely passes put it that way.
I failed but I still like her! You cannot hate this lady she is so cheery/nice. If 1 person had a question in class she had no problem stopping the lesson and going over it till everyone got it. She offers 10 points extra credit on all 3 exams=30pts! TAKE ADVANTAGE of that, if had done that I would've passed!
this professor is ok in class, sometimes is lenient with due dates when the class has problem completing it on time. Tooooooo much homework online. Homework & book DO NOT!!! match test and quizes. HW is a must :/ attendance is always threatened and there is a policy, and must PROVE excuses such as sickness. DO NOT recommend if you frequent absences
MATH 130 during Winter Session. The class was completely online (including exams) & was pretty much self taught. I only needed to contact her once about a syllabus question and she answered quickly & kindly. The class was very hard, the online homework assignments were insane as were the timed exams. ( TIMED: 2hrs:exams, 4 hrs: finals)
She is really helpful! Besides the online homework, extra credit from tutoring, and quizzes, there are many ways to keep a decent grade. She has a good sense of humor while she teaches and she always makes sure to answer any questions even if she doesn't answer questions well. Overall, very good teacher for a calculus class
Prepare to do a ridiculous amount of work. The class average is usually a C-...not too good. Do not recommend.
Winter Course Elem. Stats online. Let's put it this way... 11 HW's due from december 26 - january 14th, about 30 questions each.. with 8 parts within each question. HWs take FOREVER. 3 exams, 1 final. 2 hours for each.. you need 3 hours. not enough time to ever finish a test. questions on tests are so repetitive and take 20 minutes each to do.
Don't take winter online course. The work takes forever. There is also a project that requires you to go to campus (hard for an online winter semester course) or purchase expensive software. The course is self taught and book/powerpoints are very unclear. Not your best choice if you aren't a math person.
I was very surprised how compassionate and caring this professor is. All I can say is if you work very hard, your grade will reflect your hard work with a decent grade. I don't recommend if you are not dedicated, focused, and disciplined.Overall,I am glad I stuck it out,
She is so enthusiastic about calculus and is very helpful. Answers whatever questions you have. She also offers extra credit up to 10 points for every test which is so helpful! I would of gotten a high A if i took advantage of that from the start. Overall, would definitely recommend. I got an A-.
This class is very difficult to take online. Teaching yourself math is not easy if you aren't a good math student. The homework takes forever and goes more in depth than the tests. That's not to say the tests are easy. The SPSS project was so difficult for someone with no computer background but she isn't too picky when grading it.
Dr. Antoniou is awesome. She's a good teacher, very clear, extremely helpful and really compassionate. She's also really witty and makes class fun! You can earn up to 10 extra points each exam for going to tutoring. She also gives quizzes that are easy yet very helpful. Take her class if you get the chance!
Awesome professor, very clear, and well spoken for a maths professor. Will help any student that ASKS for help. Extremely fair grader, for a maths professor. Fyi, bad idea to take calc anything during the summer if you are a math major, which is exactly what I did. However, I have retained most of it b/c this lady is an extremely good professor.
Nice professor, but if math isn't for you - do not consider taking it online. A lot of work smushed into a month, and math takes time to go over (formulas, calculations, etc.)
She is a very nice individual with a clear knowledge and mastery of her subject. The issue is that she cannot teach. Her methods do not work in high level math courses: She uses powerpoint to teach math which doesn't work at all. She constantly corrects her slides in class making it unclear what is correct. She is also a radical feminist. Hates Men
It's a calculus class, so if you don't put the time in you probably won't do well. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and is very lenient with grading and is willing to work to help boost your grades if she sees improvement through the semester and you are putting in the time and effort. Great professor.
Antoniou is an amazing teacher. She really puts in the effort to make sure her students understand the material. She uses powerpoints and if you ask to slow down she will. She is always willing to answer a question as long as it is relevant and she is just overall great. She's really funny too. She even brought her kids to a test! Awesome teacher
Took her stats class online in the summer. There is a TON of homework that takes forever to do, a project, multiple exams that I never had enough time to finish. Keep in mind, I'm not a math major, so it may be easier for you if you are. I would not take her again.
Professor Antoniou is very knowledgeable of the material. She is great, very considerate of her students, to the point that she stops lectures to make sure everyone understands. Despite all this, the lingering question remains: Math through PowerPoint? really? That might be the reason why those many students had issues.
I wouldn't recommend taking this class online if you aren't good at math. The HW does take a very long time, but it really helps on the tests and quizzes. The SPSS project was a pain, make sure you start it early. In the beginning of the semester, she gives you due dates of quizzes, tests, and HW. She's very easy to contact and willing to help!
Took this as a visiting student. Dropped out of it at my school bc the teacher sucked. Dr. Antoniou is the complete opposite. I forgot what it was like to have a good math teacher until this class. Calc isn't easy, but she is more than reasonable. Take advantage of extra credit, and ask her questions. She really helps you get it. So happy with her.
Dr. Antoniou is awesome! Up to 10 extra credit points even on the final exam. Gives partial credit. I would definitely take her again!
If you are like me and have trouble understanding accents, do not take her. Shes hard to follow and understand sometimes. Did not like her.
If you like copying things off a powerpoint presentation for an hour and fifteen minutes than this is the perfect class for you.
From my experience in her class, I believe that her teaching styles just do not match up with those of the students. She is a very nice professor, but majority of the class had trouble keeping up with the material and very few students gained much from the course.
Top 3 in the math department. She gives you EC opportunity for every test, She helps you if you ask for help but regardless she goes over what she thinks were difficult problems. Makes you work in group to share ideas on how to solve problems, gives you worksheets that most of it is on the test. AMAZING PROFESSOR, cant wait to take her again :)
One of the best in the department. She is funny and her accent is a plus.
I don't understand why she has such a good rating. Her teaching style just leaves a majority of the class confused. Don't get me wrong, she isn't rude at all, but she teaches at her own pace and she is not willing to slow down for anybody. There's definitely a problem with the professor if a majority of the class is failing every quiz.
Dr. A was a sweet woman but very, very stubborn. She expected students who have a lot of trouble with math to keep up, even when the material was completely new to almost all of us. If math isn't your thing, do not take Contemporary Math with her, as the concepts are very difficult to comprehend in only one semester.
Took her online. You'll have to buy MyStatLab (all work is on there). All homework not due til end of sem. There's hw for each ch. section, but it's the same stuff on her quiz/exams. 2 ex, final, hw, SPSS project, and 6 quiz. Will adjust grades within a day if needed. Tests are easy if you do the HW. SPSS proj was hard, but I've never used it b4.
First of all she is a lovely lady and a fantastic teacher. Im my opinion she can go a little fast at sometimes. There is a lot of homework and quizzes and 2 exams and a 40% cumulative final. You can get up to 10 extra credit points on each test. I struggled a little but that probably boils down to me sucking at math. I would take her again though.
Only two exams, the final, and some quizzes. Thats all youre graded on. Wish she gave homework to help boost our grades. The problems on the exams are 10 times harder than the ones she does in class. Shes also a harsh grader. You need to study & If you miss even one class, youll be lost. Shes kind and caring but tough. Calc isnt easy.
Professor Antoniou is probably one of the best professors WPU. She wants everybody and will help you get the grade you want if you put in the work. She gives 10 extra credit points per exam, including final. Also, the exams are similar to the quizzes and class work. I would definitely take her again.
Good professor and cares for her students. She knows her stuff, and gets the material across to her students clearly. Calc is hard so you do have to work for your grade. The exams and quizzes are quite tough, but she gives partial credit on a lot. Also, I kinda wish she gave homework so you could be graded on that and not just on the quizzes/tests.
Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. Worst professor I have ever taken. She is a nice person but she DOES NOT know how to teach math. She grades you solely on tests and gives random quizzes . When you don't understand something she makes you feel like an idiot. Just awful I had to drop the course bc I could not keep up with her rushed teaching style!
So I've never ever rated a professor... until now. Professor Antoniou deserves the time and effort to be poorly rated. She does not answer questions, she carries on thinking that what ever she is saying is more important than the clear question of a student. She also does not care about a students outside world. Its her way or no way with this prof
Do not take statistics online in the summer! The entire "class" is a math program with tons of homework. There is no lecture at all. The exams are timed and nearly impossible.
OMG... Linear Algebra is not that hard.... she made it so complicated and unnecessarily difficult. It's crazy how she doesn't answer questions in class. She expects us to "email her" (as if I can learn Linear Algebra through an emial). The Final WAS IMPOSSIBLE. I'd rather stub my pinky toe 10 times a day for a year then take the class again.
Do not take her for Calc 1 she gives you a quiz every week and is a very tough grader and the exams are very difficult, because she gives you so many problems for a short time.
Absolute worst professor ever. Yells at students for not turning their cameras on or participating. Speeds through topics because she cares more about completing material than her students learning it. Doesn't provide our graded quizzes/exams. Very little room for improvement. Exams are nothing like she prepares us for and grades too harshly. AVOID
She has good reviews but that was before COVID-19, I believe once the pandemic hit something in her brain snapped because she is now a total nightmare. She blows through the material fast and during tests will shriek at us accusing us all of cheating. One test she accused me 3 times, each time I had to move my camera around for her wasting 20 min.
Doesn't give solutions to most exams/quizzes but a few problems are exactly the same or similar to class examples/hw. Will make your life a living hell if your camera isn't in the correct position and will waste your time on exams asking you to fix it. Disallows calculators, but puts problems on the final that need them.
Go To Jail Go directly to Jail. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200. IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR MONEY DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS, THE TEST LENGTH RANGE FROM 9-14 PAGES. EVERY PROBLEM IS AT THE HIGHEST DIFFICULTY. I took the class online. HW is alot of questions. Gives quizzes every week on average and their test level questions. Doesnt give test graded back!!
The worst professor I've ever had. Harassed multiple times to move my camera during exams, which I never got to see corrections for. Don't turn your camera off in lecture unless you want to be embarrassed in front of the class. Constant anxiety and frustration. A complete waste of time and money, now I have to repeat. Thanks for nothing.
Calls on you to make sure youre participating for online class. Wants the camera on your hands and work so you dont cheat (which is very weird). Her tests are very long. A few people dropped the class. Shes okay at explaining things. I dont recommend and wouldnt take her again.
She really emphasizes the stress of pedagogy in her classroom. She demonstrated proficient abilities in conveying the topic of differential equations to your memory. She prefers a very facilitated manner of learning. She answers all questions and deals with all dilemmas you may have. Doth woman is one of the best professors.
So for this class it was hard for me because I suck at math but professor Antoniou really looked out for me and passed me even though I really shouldve failed I literally failed everything tests, quizzes , and didnt do well on the MyStats homework but she curved everyones scores at the end thats my experience with her and this class
Dr. Antoniou was the best Calc I teacher I've ever had (I've had 3 lol). She is extremely enthusiastic, reasonable, and clear about what she will put on the exams. We never had hw because she is aware that it doesn't do anyone any good since most people just use Symbolab or something, and she didn't want to waste our time. Loved her!
From what it seems this professor just uses premade tests and homework from an online textbook. She wont do the effort of writing the dates of when things are due. Absolute bare minimum from her end. Then she requires us to write discussions on why the math is important? I just want to do my math and get on with it. This is beyond unnecessary.
This professor required us to make a discussion post every week in a math class, then gave bad criticism on them. Most of the class consisted of her just assigning work from the textbook and linking youtube videos that could easily be found without spending $1,200 on a class. She didn't really do any teaching.
Winter course; complete waste of time. Entire class is thru Pearson software; professor actually did nothing, no teaching/videos. Very upsetting to pay a large amnt of $ for a class & have to learn everything by yourself. Exams don't allow enough time for completion. Disappointed, but did well in the class; no info retained, just got by.
Basically the class is through Pearson. She supplies powerpoints if you need them and is available for questions. The class itself isn't too hard, I would suggest trying to actually do the math, not letting AI or calculators do all the work. Was not terrible at all.
