Fun teacher and easy but questions on lab quiz are sorta ambigious. Prepare to study lots for lab quizzes than for lecture midterms.
A GREAT teacher! She's funny and helpful. She really tries to bland in with the students and create a great atmosphere in class. Recommended!

Totally awesome and funny teacher. She's not mean, very nice, and coursework is pretty easy. Good class for those who just want credit to transfer.
This is the kind of professor who really cares about her students. She even took us to the zoo on the last day! Fantastic lab teacher.
She really care for her student. I took her during the summer where she was in charge of all the grades and the lab but the lab spilt into three and have differnt teacher. i was stuck in a lab with the worst teacher. In the end she fix it
She makes you wana learn! And her tests go straight to the point instead of confusing you with these long sentences. Plus she has this great humor. TAKE HER!
GODDDAM!!!! I loved this teacher... She was so nice.. VERY NICE.. and very fair and understanding when it comes to class... She remembers how it is to be our age so she totally understands.. SIMPLY ROCKS!!! She even bought us Pizza one day.. WTH! hahaa
I loved loved loved Dr. Ciletti!! She was so funny and so nice. She was always willing to explain and she gave great notes. The tests were exactly what she said they would be on and they were not hard at all. She is awesome!!
Awesome teacher-really knows how to teach and has fun doing it!! Highly recommend!! Course work is challenging but very interesting.
She is one of the smartest woman,I had ever known. But she speaks very fast. If your English is not good , be carefull.
absolutely LOVED her! she makes you wana learn & has a great sense of humor! if you study the materials she lectures on you will definitely pass with an A!
Awesome teacher, a must if you need to take bio 11. She is clear and easy to talk to.
Wow. My experience with this "professor" was completely different from everyone elses here. I felt that she was not clear enough, spoke much too fast even for someone like me who is an english speaker, and that she was very insensitive.
great teacher for biology
STAY AWAY!!! Do not take a class with this woman.
She's a great professor. She's funny sometimes and very eazy going. You don't really need to buy the book for her class unless you feel like you need to. She's very knowledgable and She doesn't needs notes to lecture to the class.
If you need to take a gneral biology class then DON'T take it with this teacher. Horrible.
Can I have some more comments for this teacher for the Biology 1 B class and not the Biology 11 class? Thanks!
This teacher really knows how to teach. Class is a lot of fun. I really recommend her for this class.
She is an awesome teacher. EASY A if you take notes
Find a professor who is willing to help you, and TRUST ME this perfessor right here is NOT the one. Made what at first seemed like an exciting class, an absolutely horrible experience.
This class doesn't take much effort, so if you don't care about Bio and just need to get a good grade, its an easy A!
She is funny sometimes, but a little hard. Her tests are not that long, but they are very hard and tricky. She doesn't seem to care about students much. She talks too fast, yet her lectures are clear and interesting.

Well, this gal is definately in love with the subject and knows her stuff. Teaching a class of 95 students is not as easy as some of you think - she is as helpful as she can be. Gets carried away sometimes with bio-stories, but generally a decent lectur
Seems like someone is angry with her, cuz some of these commments are too mean and don't even list a class. Cillette is good, learned alot, hard tests, funnys stories
i don't think it get's any clearer than her. she has good lectures. and is always willing to answer questions, whether pertaining to the class or just for superflous knowledge. she's awesome and has empathy for her students. i STRONGLY reccomend her!
Not as bad and not as good either!Got a A in the class without really understand the materials. ^_^
If you study her lecture notes, you will get a good grade in the class. Very cool lady!!
super easy- take notes and all lectures and review before the test- and BAM! instant A. you don't even need to buy the book. very nice, helpful, and interesting. just always remember watson & crick 'discovered' dna.
She must b playing favorites because while a small amount of studnets like her,an even LARGER amount despise her class. She helps when she feels like it.Those lecture notes do not help.
Although Dr. Cilleti seems hard her class isn't so bad if you read the book carefully (read it 2x if you have to). She's clear on what she expects from you on tests so there should be no confusion. Her tests are not as hard as Jarrel
A good, but easy, teacher. However the test tubes are cleaner than they've ever been and all the labware smells springtime -fresh.
I walked in excited about the class, and walked out disappointed. One semester of pure hell.
ok the material is not hard..and shes clear with notes and all that stuff..but the grading is sooo unfair..she has tests with an odd number of questions so its hard for people to get good percentages..she doesnt drop any tests and barely gves extra credit..she needs to lighten up on intro bio.really
She's such a great professor! I don't know what all you other people are talking about! She is understanding and very EASY! Just take notes in class and do the lab assignments which are EASY! You don't even have to buy the text book! I recommend her, she's the best!
The grading is so unfair. The test is...wait until you see it.
what a load of cr*p! I cannot even believe that some people think this person can teach. One of the worst college experiences I ever had.
i think she's the easiest bio teacher ever. show u notes. have notes available to photocopy. if u follow the notes, u're good.
not easy.
mediocre.
I don't know why people like her. She does not lecture or explain anything. all she does is show slides from the projector and reads it. she gives you 9 seconds to write it down. Very unclear what she wants from you for the labs. tests are very detail oriented. take somene else if you can
Great teacher.Hardly any homework. A lot of extra credit assignments.
Although she gives good lectures and explains the material well..Exams are hard 50 scantron and about 5 essay questions & two lab practicals. If you had diff in Bio1A..dont take ur chance.
Makes the class impossible. If only she could be more clear and stop all the favoritism, maybe students wouldn't complain about her so much. I literally dread going to her class. Highly unprofessional.
Friendly and knowledgeable prof. Committed to making biology pertinent to the whole class. Some tests are easier than others but she preps you well for each. Lectures fast but has all her overheads on reserve. Tests are TOTALLY from the notes, gives lots of extra credit. Strict on what she's looking for on the formal lab writeup.
good it isnt like bio 1A harder
She is one of the nicest professor who does care about her students' success. She encourages her students to work hard. She is very friendly and humorous, too.
Take Her Bio1B. It's much easier and more fun than Bio1A. She is pretty cool also, especially on teaching DNA.
QUITE FRANKLY, IT WAS HORRIBLE CLASS. ILL-PREPARED AND SNOBBISH DEMEANOR. A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.
She is so fun! Tells funny stories about her kids, jokes a little bit. She is very willing to help. If you put in a little effort getting an A or B in this class won't be to difficult. She does test reviews, all questions on tests are based on lecture notes. Pay attention and take good notes and this class is easy.
If you have good background in Chemistry, this class is easy (people get 100 points all the time), but if you don't, then do not take your chance. She lecture fast and does not explain complicated processes clearly. However, you can copy her lecture note; it useful because her test is 99% on the lecture notes. You don't even have to read the book.
DUDE!! how come you "don't have" chem background when you're taking bio 1B. you must be at least at chem 1B at that time. I was in Chem 1B when I was taking her class, and it was easy. test question is kinda tricky though, especially for DNA (she's the expert at DNA). but only "getting and A," is not hard at all as long as you do your part (STUDY!)
w/ chem expertise or not, do yourself a favor and stay away from any class being taught by this person. so many of us dropped her class!....I mean it was a total joke of a class! she's horrible.

good class
tests are base on lecture note. don't need to buy a textbook.
Take her classes! She is so funny and nice. I loved her class. If you take good notes and study them, there's your A!
Dr.Ciletti is probably one of the best professor's @PCC. She makes the class fun and easy to understand. Its a class that takes time and effort, but if you study your notes you shouldn't have a problem. She gives lab quizes which are easy, 3 tests, final, and lab report. Trust me if you want a easy A take this class....
It's okay to miss her lectures as long as you borrow the notes and study them. (Just check out her notes and copy them, it's the fastest way!) Tests are moderate if you study all the notes. She doesn't grade hard on labs, easy to pass if you put some attention to the class. It's possible to get an A without buying a $100 book =P
she makes a boring subject interesting, by making the labs the simplest version of what it is. Her labs can be fun, and are graded fair. TEsts are kinda hard you have to study. But if you want a teacher who knows what she is teaching than take her, she is very enthusiatic and funny, her tests include jokes too! highly reccomend her!
She is really cool!~~
She is the best professor at PCC. She makes the class fun and easy to understand. If you study your notes you will be fine!! If you study then EASY A
Great teacher that explains the difficult concepts of Biology very well. The second and third tests are the hardest, study hard for those.
Took it in winter session and as long as you study you can do well. She explains things very well and makes biology actually interesting. (can't stand the subject, although it's growing on me now)
Dr Ciletti is awesome...shes very kind, fun and helpful! Id HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend her.....her exams arent super difficult if you go to lecture and TAKE NOTES! what is the most fun in her course is the awesome labs that she creates....the labes dont help you for the tests though b/c the exams are all on notes and text.
I really recommend her for Bio 11. I love her so much. She explains everything so clearly and you would love her lecture.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Work hard=A, it's as simple as that. There is no such thing as you read the textbook and her lecture notes and you can't get B or better [A]. I never take bio b4 in my life, her class really inspire me to major in biology in the future. Take her class and you will love biology.
Not recommended, she does not teach anything except those concepts on the book. the onlything she can do is give you a grade and judge you base on the understanding of your text book. A good teacher is to teach student something which can not be seen on book. she is Not that hard, but still not the type of teacher student should take.
Dr. Ciletti makes Bio 1B easy, fun, and interesting. Her lectures inspires me to be more involve in the health care field. She is really laid back and actually talks about the health issue nowadays. Unlike Bio 1A, the labs are super fun. Take this class, and you will learn a lot from it.
she is very fun to take. she will tell you interesting things about biology and the labs are a breeze. you will be out of there in half the time. She will be clear with her notes, for they are thru powerpoint. just make sure you get the terms down. she doesn't drop lowest test but there are some tiny extra credit assignments. jus dont rely on them
a very fun class to take. Knowledgable. cool teacher. really passionate about genetics.Explained concepts clearly. As long as you understand what she said in the class, you will do well in the exams.
She's a great professor !!! Her lectures are very clear, and she is very passionate about what she teaches. She's amazed by the DNA and you will be too after taking bio 1B. She'll answer all your during lecture and lab, and you can even email her questions while studying for a test and she'll always answer them. Highly recommended
Dr Ciletti is a great teacher-everyone loves her! She is very intelligent but also very funny. Bio 1B is a great class
Dr. Ciletti's lectures are fast-paced and informative. Her focus is not on the precise details provided by the textbook, but on broader topics. Students are encouraged to download image files of her transparencies, which are provided on her website. She is a fair grader, and her test material should come as no surprise if you've studied your notes.
Very cool teacher. The book isn't important just get the Powerpoints off of her and you'll be fine. Also take her for lab (easy). If you need BIO 11 to be clear take it with her.
she is easy...tests are easy 2..
Take BIO11 with her!!! You will love her I promise. I didn't even buy a bio book and got an insanely high grade in her class. However, you must know the powerpoint-notes thoroughly to get an "A" on the test, but it is VERY manageable. Highly reccomend taking BIO11 with her. Take her for lab too. You would honestly have to try to fail to fail.
Dr. Ciletti is Awesome. SHes super clear and helpful, her tests and quizes are straight forward and not hard at all if you study well, just read her notes and go over them in the book and youll be fine. Shes the best take her!!
Gr8 Teacher ever had. Clear lectures, notes, and everythings. You'll enjoy biology and understand every concepts.
She's a very sweet professor, but my only complaint is that her classes are too easy. It makes it difficult for you to go to class b/c you know you don't need to, so by the end of the quarter, although you ace your tests, you learned absolutely nothing. I personally would take a harder class where I can learn more..
cool teacher. fair class. exam is fair, but you do need to study. I mange to get an low A in that class. very happy for that.
She's made me so interested in the subject. Even if you're scared of bio, she'll make it very easy, she will takes time to help u out. Go to lectures, all her tests are based on her lectures, even though she posts her lectures, take notes!
Very hard
This is not a hard class but it is really difficult to get A and easy to get B and C. No Drop lowest test!
the lab is so easy but it is difficult on the test.
Horrible. Don't have any family emergency's while in her class. She'll act like she doesn't believe it and make you feel awful about it. I took the class with someone else instaed. Ciletti was a waste of my time.
Worst teacher ever! Easy B or C but you don't learn anything.. she should teach HS or middle school, but not college. One little mistake and it's all wrong for her.
Great professor! Labs are not tough if you pick the right partners. Don't waist your money on the book, it's not needed. All she will test on is what's in her power point notes and what she talks about in lecture. Not an easy A, but it can be done (i did). She even got me to stop smoking. Thanks Ciletti
It's not a bad class to take since it's to score an A/B without a lot of effort. But it is a very depressing class since the proffesor makes it clear she would rather be somewhere else and in some other profession.Other than that it was a good class.Lab-work was actually a lot more fun than lectures.
I could say alot about this professor, but not enough characters so i'll list them: got a b and i never touched the TEXTBOOK, labs are fun and easy going, chances for extra credit, fair grader, tells u in advance what short answer questiosn may be, entertaining, and most of all scared the hell outta me so i'm never going to smoke!! pretty good prof
Dr. Ciletti is the best professor to take Bio 11 with. The book is never needed, tests are straight from powerpoints. You can miss as many lectures as you want but only 2 labs. Final is not cumulative. She is funny and sarcastic. I will take her for Bio 1b, I only wished she taught 1a as well... You won't regret taking her.
She is a very nice lady.NO textbook required. All the test are based on her powerpoint. Also she will give a lot of E.C.If you can spend time on it,you will get A, at least B
It's been years since I took her class...but I have not forgotten it. One of the worst professors I have ever had.
I also took her a few years ago and I don't even know how people like her. She will pass you if she likes you if not you won't pass her class I guarantee that. The worst ever, take somebody else.
Best ever!
She's very funny and helpful. Easy class if you study. Everything on the test is from her power points and NO TEXTBOOK is required.
One of the best professors I've had. She's super cool and very understanding. She makes lectures interesting and cracks jokes every so often. I went through the whole semester without using the textbook and was still able to do well on tests by studying off the notes I took in class.
These raters here that say she is good must be some of her clones or something. I thought she wasn't good at all, take somebody else!
she is the only BIO 1B professor in PCC, you have no choice to choose others even though you don't like her just as i do..
i think she isnt a serious teacher, but she is a nice friend.some raters say she chooses her favor, but every teacher like smart students, that's human nature.her class is very easy, not tha super, cuz this is a science class,no science can be super easy.i think good teacher, good class.i really like the labs
I agree to what some raters say about her it just depends on the student, if you have to take Biology take it somewhere, do it because PCC is not the only college around you know. Teachers are not suppose to favor people they are suppose to help everyone succeed in a class.
She's not good at lecturing. The lecture goes on too fast and she talks fast too. She's a better rapper than teacher...
You guys have got to be kidding with the bad comments, Dr. Ciletti is the Nicest, sweetest, most fun teacher Ive had at PCC in my 3 year experience, shes clear about the test material, she gives you online notes for it, 1 out of the 5 tests she gave was considered hard for me, "animals 1" and many many chances for EXTRA Credit, Shes the BEST! -RA
Dr. Ciletti is the nicest sweetest funnest teacher ive had in my 3 years at pcc, she gives you online notes for the tests, many many chances for Ex. Credit, shes nice and she cares for her students, only reason I got a B, I didnt study for the first test, but her tests are based on the notes, Dr. Ciletti I will miss you dearly, -RA
The bad: she is the only choice for Bio1B in PCC; however, the good thing is: Dr. C is such a great teacher. Her class/lab is fun, she only expects her students know well about the important concepts. Her test never tricks you and is SUPER easy---the easiest sci. class I had in PCC. I spent only 30 mins for her final---should be 2 hour-long test :)
Dr.C is cool. She teaches some very interesting things but her lectures are kind of fast. The class is not that easy but she grades really fair and gives you all the info you need to know to study. she is funny sometimes too!
Dr. E might be the only prof. teaching bio1B so be aware, especially for those who take Di-Fiori for bio1A. These two profs. have very different approached in lecturing and testing. Di-Fiori doesn't really follow the textbook, but Dr. E does. You really have to study the textbook for the 1st exam in bio1B since Difiori teaches mostly different stuf
For the other rater who said that she is a great teacher you must be one of her clones or you gotta be high. She is horrible! If you have to take Biology at another school than do it!
If you took Dr. Foster for Bio 1A, then you will find her class to be fairly easy.
Dr. Ciletti is the kindest professor I've ever met. She really thinks and do everything she can for her students. Her class is nice and fun...
Looked forward to class every week! Take the hybrid online class. Take the lab with her and do the lecture part online. Definitely take this class!!
I loved this class.I am not good at the "hard" sciences and was afraid of doing poorly. Expectation was clear, the tests were consistent with the material she gave and the labs on Friday. She noticed when someone was missing work or labs and asked about it. For non-science majors I highly recommend this class - she was nice, fun and interesting.
In order to get an A in the class, be sure to read the book. Dr. Ciletti is nice and sometimes show videos in class. We got pizza on our presentation day :) !
OMG i don't get why people said her class is very easy. It's a HARD class... study hard if you want to pass... you don't need a book
The good part about her class is you ll get pizza towards the end of the semester, and it is delicious! She cancels too many classes without prior notice. class can be hard or easy depends on her mood. Her lecture is ok but very disorganized. you have to rotate the pics on her PP urself which is annoying. study urself by reading book should be fine.
very easy. follow directions. listen in class to what she tells you to study. thats it.
Dr. C is very helpful. She is interested in what she teaches. She is more concerned that you understand the concepts rather than your grade. Her labs are not boring & she is always available to help you if you have questions.
Dr. Ciletti made the class very enjoyable and easy. I took the hybrid class (in class labs/online tests). I didn't learn much, but this class is perfect for non-bio majors. Very few assignments and drops the 2 lowest labs. Has a nice attitude, funny, organized, and cares about her students. Always willing to help us out. Totally recommend. EASY A.
Dr. Ciletti is very Helpful and her lectures are clear. The tests were not easy; however, they were not extremely difficult either. She is fair and I definitely recommend her. 4 tests Total + lab points.
She's an ok teacher but overall does not teach too well, hard to approach for help.
If you know nothing about biology, expect a damn challenge! Expect to read the book to learn, or if you are lucky, you will find online lectures that will help you understand DETAILS. Her lectures are VERY broad. People that will score perfect on her exams are the ones who already know this. She's not one to learn details from.
Excellent Prof. Teaches the material & tests you on the material she teaches. Took her class instead of the studio type classes because I wanted to learn about Biology & prepare for medical school. Highly recommended for DAT & MCAT preparation. If you come to class to get the big picture & then read the book for details you will be fine.
AMAZING PROF!! She makes the test a few days before and will only test on what she taught. pay close attention to her lectures, she hints/tells you essay questions she will ask on the test. if you listen, no need for the book! she explains excellently. she lets you watch films for extra credit. fieldtrip=free points! she's funny and very helpful!
She's changed since Gen. Bio. Crams test material days before exam, notes are unrelated to tests. Miss 15 mins of lab and you get a zero. Broad essay questions. Better have a AP bio background. Get off the titanic before it sinks! Take my advice!!!!!
Took this professor for 10C in Fall 12, I was recommended by one of my friends, it was definitely a bad recommendation, the class was so hard, there were multiple correct answers, but only her way was correct. Take someone else if you can, or go another CC.
Bio 10A: She will lecture on everything you need to know. Her powerpoint notes are written herself and worded exactly as her exams. If you memorize every slide you WILL get an A. If you are new to Biology, READ THE BOOK. (910 rating) Bio 10C: Not as good for this class. No lecture, self-study required, sometimes too vague on what to study.(710)
Amazing teacher, she's very clear during lecture and lab. She goes off of PowerPoint slides but doesn't only read off of them, she expands on them. The second exam I thought was the most difficult and personally the book helped me better understand cellular respiration. She gives a fair amt. of extra credit. And personally I thought she was funny.
I really like the way she lectures. It keeps me awake all the time. Her notes are simplified so well that an ESL student like me can understand and remember pretty easily. Try to learn the notes carefully and read the book just a little bit for the parts that you don't understand clearly in her notes, and you will get an A.
I loved this class! She is one of the best professors Ive ever met. I'm a Bio major and she would be an excellent mentor! Very approachable. Her lectures were amazing! You wont get bored. She gives a lot of extra credit! So student shouldn't have any reason to fail her class. Must participate, attend class, do not miss any labs and STUDY HARD.
Dr. Ciletti is awesome! The exams are based off heavily from the lectures, so take good notes and pay attention! There are points associated to each class meeting, so you can't miss class. Dr. Ciletti's lectures are very interesting, and she's funny. There is a poster presentation, 3 exams, and a final. As long as you read, you're fine!
Dr. Ciletti is a real gem of PCC. She is inspirational, caring and funny. Tests are based mostly on her lectures so don't skip classes. I wish she teaches bio 10b too.
She gives clear lecture but when it comes to lab, I do not know what really she wants to see on lab notebook. I did everything she said and when she grades my labbook, she deducts points for something she never mentioned about. I have met many lab professors. Whether they were easy or hard, at least they graded only things that they mentioned
I enjoyed her class for 10A. All of the information needed for exams were on the powerpoint (plus a little reading from textbook). Labs were somewhat difficult but nothing you can't handle. 10C was more relaxed. Just watched videos and answer questions on your own. The exams for 10A are multiple choice + short answer. 10C exam is just short answer.
I do not recommend you this professor if you are Bio major. In my opinion, her lectures are way too vague and simple. She only uses PowerPoint to teach which is limited interaction with students. If you want to understand biology, I think you shouldn't take her but if you just learn by heart, everything will be fine. Most of tests based on note.
Pros - okay lecture - Instructions are clear Cons - does not give partial credit even if you just made a small mistake. Like, missing a required underline will miss your 2 points rather than just 1. - she is bias (in my opinion) - very little extra credit point given. - Exams can be tough
Not clear on instructions. Doesn't review her own modules, i emailed asking for clarification many times and she didn't know what i was talking about. She seemed to get annoyed that i emailed her with questions. Instructions are too vague.
Pay attention to what she stresses in lectures-it will most likely be a free response question. Her powerpoint slides is all you need to ace her exams. Also for those of you who like to sit back and let your group members do all the lab work, good luck. You will fail the lab practical. Offers some extra credit-15 points or so out of like 650 total.
Very clear on what she expects from you when you take the class. Took her during the winter and it was easier than taking it during the fall or spring. Her lectures are good, but reading the book on top of just reading the lecture notes really helps you understand what shes talking about. Tests werent too bad, but you should still study for them.
Took her during the summer & she is the most chill prof I had in PCC. She hints you most of the things that comes up in the exam and gives you few extra credit points for doing posters. Her exams are not too difficult but for our class, ppl did not perform well for the practical exam so watch out on that. Very clear on grading and fun to talk to
I took her class over summer 2018. Go to class bc she tells you what is on the exam, but you have to read the book since her notes are not sufficient enough to cover what she puts on her exams. Exams are multiple choice with a free response. There is extra credit which is helpful. Study for the lab practical. Class not hard if you put in the work.
I took Dr. Ciletti's Bio 10A last Winter 2019. I am not a Bio major, but I really enjoyed her class. She covers the content pretty well during lectures and tells you explicitly what will be on the tests. Her class is definitely passable with an "A", you just have to study her notes. Study all your labs for the lab practical, and you will do fine.
Dr Ciletti has to be my favorite professor at PCC! She explains things in a way youre able to grasp and remember. She is very clear with her expectations and youll do poorly if you dont come to class. Labs are especially important but very interesting and fun. Thanks Dr Ciletti!
A solid prof. Lots of experience in the field and in lab. Lectures were pretty boring and she does give a worksheet sometimes after lecture however does not really give hw. 4 tests, a poster presentation, lab (1 formal report), & lab practical makes up your grade. Also you dont really need to remember material from chem1a. Ok class
I took her online PHSC2 class. Very insightful class. She requires a lot of reading but if you do the work, she'll give you the A for honest work. She isn't a tough grader. A lot of the homework revolves around current events and biology. I would recommend her class to anyone. It was an easy A and you learn something from it. A lot of writing.
The work she assigns is very straight to the point and understandable. She doesnt seem to be very nice when you ask her for help or clarification. She seemed really annoyed and started to get snarky when I didnt understand her. Take the class it is a good course, just never expect a nice or helpful response if you need it.
A phenomenal processor. What a gift. Witty, sharp, empathetic, real, incredibly knowledgeable. This is the first STEM class I enjoyed. Made me switch to a Bio major. I always looked forward to class. Exams were extremely fair. Also, shes very trans friendly. By far the best professor Ive ever had.
Good enough and would recommend. I did not enjoy the focus on weight loss in the class as being the end all for Nutrition, so if you have problems with food, etc. be careful. Other than that she was great. As with all online classes, be prepared to work for your grade!
She emphasizes what we will be on the test. Her lab instructions and lectures are clear. We even went to the Aquarium of the Pacific towards the end of the semester for a field trip, which was very fun.
She is such an angel. I absolutely adore her. I took her for summer 2020 and it was fully online. She gave a lot of homework but thats normal for a summer class and it was definitely manageable. She made me fall in love with biology. Her hw assignments prepare u for exam so do them well!! I overall truly enjoyed the class and I love her
Very nice professor.
Shes a really tough grader make sure to pay attention closely to certain stuff. Shes not an easy A you have to work hard for an A. Fast responder online but assigns a ton of work.
This Professor was probably one of the worst in the science department at PCC. Her instructions were never clear on assignments and her grading criteria was always all over the place. She would deduct points on assignments and not have an explanation why she did. Our course was online, but we still had group projects? Take someone else if you can.
Less than 3 assignments a week due on Sunday midnight, so there's plenty of time to do. No final, only four exams, and plenty quizzes. hw is matter. Again, don't try to copy words from outside, otherwise easy class as long as you did all work.
Atrocious professor. Doesn't care about teaching at all. Tons of typos in everything she writes, super unclear instructions/feedback, grading criteria make no sense. Gets angry or ignores you if you call her out for any of her own mistakes. Some assignments are kindergarten level, others are highly technical. Very disorganized. Avoid at all costs!
she just gave you lots of topics to finish on your own and she gave you a grade. That is it. She is lazy
I am currently taking this class for Fall 2022 semester ( it is a hybrid class) . She really cares and loves biology. You can really feel her passion through her lectures. One thing is that she takes some points off from your assignments ( really picky). There are 4 tests and one final and this is a point system class. I recommend this class.
She is a wonderful teacher that I have taken before. I am thoroughly her current class. She does assign a good amount of work each week and we lectures are quite straight forward. If you are able to pay attention in class and the notes you should do just fine. The BIO 10A I am taking is hybrid, so grade is up to me.
Extremely nice, willing to explain concepts if you ask, content & tests are easier albeit very specified things were asked to be memorized. Nonetheless the experiments done and the topics covered throughout the course were very interesting. Above all, did not have to stress about my grade the entirety of the semester, would definitely take again
I took her hybrid class for the summer and I absolutely loved it. The labs were so interesting & engaging. Plus Dr. Ciletti would always motivate us. She gives great feedback, just put in the effort and your grade will reflect that. She's very passionate and wants you to do well, so work with her! Offered lots of advice for my major (biology) too!
I took her for summer 2023 Bio 10A (8 week hybrid course) and I literally love her so much. Her video lectures are very informational and all her tests are based off of those and the labs done in class. She made us make little posters about the systems we were learning about and they really helped me remember the info for the exam. 10/10, love her.
Expect to have loads of homework. I took her during winter intersession, and she gave us around 20 weekly assignments, including essays and lab write-ups.
Unnecessary amount of assignments. About 15-20 assignments per week. Uncaring for student's concerns and situations. Barely any feedback. Very unclear instructions for assignments. Requires us to take videos of ourselves for discussions. Heavily do not recommend. Extremely stressful class that is not worth it at all.
i took 3 classes over the winter and this was the most time-consuming. lots of homework. takes points off so you have to pay rlly close attention to directions. there're no tests but lots of long papers and you have to record videos for discussions. rlly strict about citations. it's doable but annoying. some of the content was interesting tho ngl.
Took Fall 2023 with her and it was awesome. She cares about her students. She also recommended Summer Research program which you can participate outside PCC that will benefit you. I appreciate that she sometimes took the first hour of class to review her online lecture to explain her online lecture again.
The professor is passionate about biology and really cares about student learning. The class has a decent workload, but using tools like Unstuckstudy alongside the textbook can help manage it. Overall, it's a challenging yet rewarding course if you stay engaged.
I took her hybrid course. Honestly, she wasn't an amazing professor, but she also wasn't a bad one. She's heavy on the assignments, but she grades very leniently (very strict on citations though). Her labs and tests are also not hard; everything is covered in the lecture videos. She didn't make biology incredibly interesting, but I did learn a lot.
She's a nice professor, however there's ridiculous amounts of busy work! The assignments are easy and the tests are very reflective of lecture, with enough studying getting an A is very doable. Make sure to stay on top of the lectures and try not to miss any labs since they'll come up on the end of semester lab practical and tests.
If you never took biology, DO NOT take this class! The hybrid course is fast-paced and can seem like a huge workload if you haven't learned it before. The format of diagrams on the slides of the hybrid course has weird lines as she copied it from Campbell. The professor is great though, has a good sense of humor, although can be curt sometimes.
Loved her.
Dr. C was a great professor for this online course. I took the 8-week-long course, and it was a breeze. Just stay on top of your work, as there are many assignments.
thank god it's over. definelty plays favorites and it shows in her grading. don't bother unless you become a teacher's pet.
overall good professor when starting out with biology
She's just… okay. Really don't get the hype. Took her because of the reviews, but she's nothing special in terms of her opening my eyes and making me love biology any more than I already did. Super average and overall bleh class. She's fine, but that's about it.
i mean she's the top biology professor for a reason. take her if you want to experience what biology at PCC offers
THANK GOD its Over! This was one of my hardest class I ever took at PCC. I took this over the summer so this was a fast course. There was a lot of homework, quizzes, and discussion post every week. I recommend you only take this class by its self and stay on top of your assignments and you will be fine.
i don't understand the low ratings lol, skim the textbook and you'll be fine. her tests are pretty straightforward and she'll tell you what to study in class, so pay attention and you should be good.
