Really nice lady who loves math. She's a good teacher. Only downfall is that she yells when she is talking and can be a bit overbearing at times. Overall pretty easy.

She is a Great teacher! I really dislike math but am getting an A in the class. She is young and rather funny. As long as you come to class you should do fine! HW isn't mandatory but you can get extra credit if you turn it in by the test. I would recommend her to everyone

She's very friendly and will try to help as much as she can. Her teaching skill isn't excellent, but she makes up for it in willingness to help you understand. My tip is just to try your best from start to finish, and you should get an A. I got a B- because I went in not caring, but eventually she got me focused on doing good.

Attendance is not mandatory, but you are responsible for what you miss. Class is easy and fun, she helps you when you need it and is willing to take extra time if you still do not understand the material. I would take this professor again!

Really nice proffessor, but doesnt always explain everything. had to teach myself alot out of the book. SLA really helped too.

She taught trig in an easy to understand way. Great teacher in my opinion. If you are not a morning person though her voice is a little screetchy. watch out for that.

Very helpful teacher. She takes the time to answer questions before, after and during class. You can tell she is really interested in making sure the students understand. He makes extra review and gives 5points extra credit on exams for homework so always do your homework. what have you got to lose?

Great professor!! She is very helpful and energetic. I got a 98% in the class by just doing all of the homework and doing well on tests. You only need the book if you want to do the extra credit homework.

Very good professor! I was never good at math in high school and am just now returning to college 5 years later with an A in this course. Professor Hammer's teaching style was great and she is always willing to help if you don't understand. Homework in the book is optional and used as extra credit which is a plus!

Very sweet teacher. Extremely helpful, drops lowest quiz grade. All of the homework is online, don't even buy the book, you can access it online.

I HATE HATE HATE math, and she made it really REALLY tolerable for me! She's an awesome prof, and super nice and willing to help if ever you need it. Her standards-based grading system is one of the best grading systems I've ever experienced. My only complaint is that she spent too much time on the early material and rushed through at the end.

Great professor! She is really helpful and easy to understand. You only need the book if you want to do extra credit problems. She does have writing assignments but they are always short and pretty easy. Overall she is a wonderful person and professor.

My only advice is to attend her class. Otherwise she makes things very clear and is ALWAYS willing to help out. I've hated math for as long as I've had to do it, but she makes it a lot clearer. She's completely understanding and I highly recommend having her as a professor if you struggle with math!

Uses online tools and handouts very well. She is engaging and clear. She is just difficult enough to keep her students on the right track. Easily one of the best professors I have ever had. I would highly recommend taking this as an evening class in one single block. Group work is common, and some quizzes are cooperative. And I HATE math!

Professor Hammer was a good teacher. Very patient and willing to go slower if the students are confused, but you have to be willing to ask questions! To be honest her voice kind of annoyed me, but that doesnt really matter. Good prof, Im not the greatest at math but with some effort and a little help I got an A! Take her

She doesn't check attendance but she gives random quizzes (that you can't make up), so you SHOULD go. She always comes in with a smile, very willing to help you understand & slow down on teaching the material IF you tell her. Online hw posted 1 week ahead of time. DON'T buy books. Exam reviews are provided.

Prof. Hammer is awesome! Very helpful, very fair, and the course was not super easy. I spent maybe 30 minutes A WEEK doing homework or studying. She is very clear in lecture and you take these short quizzes at the beginging of each class that are easy and can MAKE your grade. They are only 4 pts each but they add up! A is very possible!

Professor Hammer is a great math teacher overall. However, in the beggining of the semester, I didn't care for her to much because of her style of teaching. Eventually I got over that and the class seemed to get easier and easier after the first exam. Also make sure to look over ALL of the information for the final exam throughout the entire course

I was a terrible math student before this class. She was an amazing professor that I would love to take again. She made the class interact which I also wasn't a fan of but it helped me learn a lot. I highly recommend her as a professor.

Hammer is a good professor if you are good at math, i took her hybrid class and it was very difficult for me because online learning isn't how my brain works. if you like math and you're good at it i highly suggest you take her

Very helpful but didn't like how it was participation-based with the group you sat with - felt too much like high school. Three exams throughout the semester, then the final. Lots of quizzes but she drops the lowest two. Also if you do better on your final than one of your other exams she'll make both exams the same score as your final.

Prof Hammer is great. Gives link to online lecture and then we work on it during class. Always willing to help and gets to know everyone in the class and their names. If you're confused on anything, she's more than welcome to help. Great person and teacher.

Professor Hammer was by far my favorite professor. She is very helpful with everything. She is very patient with every student. She truly wants you to succeed. Class was hybrid, so there weren't many 'lectures'. Standards Based Grading allows you to take a quiz every week rather than one big exam, makes everything less daunting. She's always available to give extra help! Just talk to her, super nice, interesting grading/teaching style (in a good way).

Math is my worst subject, but professor Hammer made me feel like I was good at it. She explains everything clearly, she's super nice and always happy. I hated the quizzes but they were good practice and they make you remember things we've already learned

I really liked Professor Elisabeth. She uses a unique grading system based on how many times you've passed a specific skill. She gives you ample opportunity to make up anything you miss. I didn't do much reading, I just watched the videos for the week. Each week, there's a lab, 2 practices before class, and either a test or an Advanced Homework.

Take her! You won't regret it she is such a good professor and her teaching style is like none other! I had to retake calc1 because my previous prof. was so horrible, however you will pass if you take this prof. and really work inside of class with your team members! There is writing, but it's worth it for quality in knowing the material.

Dr. Hammer is an amazing teacher. People who do not get how to teach math may fault her, because she does not lecture at you for two hours. Though, this is not how people learn math and should not be how it is taught. Math is learned by doing and that is what Dr. Hammer lets you do. Though, she does examples and is good at explaining the material.

Prof. Hammer was the best math teacher I have ever had. She is thorough at explaining concepts, and she loves groupwork, which definitely helps the learning experience. I personally hate math but she actually make me like it more and better understand it. Id take her again in a heartbeat.

Professor Hammer is really a caring teacher who will make sure if you struggle in the slightest that you understand what is going on. There is one small quiz a week (don't miss those days!) but not hard. She makes learning achievable and doable! Take her class!

Great professor and made sure to always check on each student when doing work. Getting interactive with our table was kind of weird initially but it really makes a difference when you participate and communicate with them. Wasnt a heavy workload and class was organized well.

LOVE prof hammer. She will walk you through the problems and helps when you don't understand them. There is a lot of work assigned but it helps a lot and it is super easy. she gives you a free online link for the textbook so don't purchase it through the book store. highly recommend her. class is an easy A if you show up

LOVE Professor Hammer. Such a sweetheart, and the only "quizzes" are weekly checkpoints. if you passed all checkpoints, you don't have a final. If you didn't pass one checkpoint, you have that one question you didn't pass on your final, and so on. She gives any guidance needed, but expects you to put in the effort as well. Definitely recommend her.

As someone who has struggled with Math, I very much enjoyed this class. I took the hybrid option of this course, so we only met in person on Thursdays. I learned so much from this one day; this day was an opportunity to ask questions about the homework and "quizzes" earlier in the week.Professor Hammer is an awesome professor and she's very helpful

Hammer makes learning subjects very easy and is very forgiving for homework and quizzes. You essentially get two attempts to 'master' a quiz (once per week for two weeks), and then one last chance on the final. The final is over any area that you did not 'master' during your two attempts. Hammer cares a lot about student success. Great overall.

Took as a hybrid--I have always been really bad at math but the way Professor Hammer structures her class makes it way easier. You have daily assignments that you do at home on your own & then you have quizzes in class that you get 3 attempts to pass. She offers a zoom meeting on Tuesdays for questions & the final is take home! TAKE HER CLASS!!

As someone who struggles heavily with math (and failed 110 before) Professor Hammer is a caring, sweet women who's teaching abilities are amazing. Her class structure (checkpoints, instead of quizzes) is a unique way that benefits students like me who struggles in math, as well as people who soar in mathematics. Great professor!

This professor is very nice, yet she teaches us much like kindergartens, clear of what you need to do each week and no reason why you shouldn't earn an A in this class. No tests or quizzes just "checkpoints" each week that are like quizzes but you get three attempts on all of them. Easy A class just have to attend class and do the webwork.

Prof Hammer is amazing. The class is super easy and she provides many opportunities to get help. Most of the work done in class is in groups. She does checkpoints instead of quizzes which u have an opportunity to redo if u get any wrong. She is super sweet too. Definitely recommend.

I've never loved math, but Hammer makes it easy & knows how to break down each topic into something manageable. Pre-class assignments are intros to the week's topic, which then builds through group activities and other HW through the week. The checkpoints are super helpful & focus is on concepts, not memorization.

Professor Hammer is extremely nice and easily accessible outside the classroom. You'll have three attempts on checkpoints and then one more attempt on the finals day. You can use Desmos on almost all checkpoints. You also have a take home final which is separated into three parts all open note. She does move quickly sometimes though lectures.

My whole life, I have struggled in math (specifically algebra). Professor Hammer's unique class approach (S, G, and N grade) for mini quizzes and exams was fantastic. I actually learned from her class a lot. Participation matters, and you have to show up to pass. She teaches great. Take her if you struggle in math.

Professor Hammer is by far the best professor I have ever had. She really cares about her students and makes this class very easy to understand. If you show up you will have no problem getting a great grade. She does concept checks instead of tests and allows retakes.

I had professor Hammer for both semesters, MTH 108 and 109, she honestly made learning so much easier and the homework wasn't a lot at all. She projects her voice and class might seem slow sometimes but it honestly helps with getting a higher grade.

Professor Hammer is one of the best math teachers/professors I have ever had. I have always struggled a lot with math, but the way she taught made so much sense I felt smart for once in a math class. She cares a lot about her students and is overall an amazing teacher.

mth 109. Explains in a lot of detail which is very helpful, and the pacing of the class isn't too rushed or too slow. Don't get on her bad side or she'll call you out lol.
