a really easy class, notes were well presented, the hour went by really fast, exams are really easy and straightforward(multiple choice with broad short essay questions). teacher was really enthusiastic
I'm a guy in a girl-oriented class (it's on witchcraft!), and I honestly don't feel awkward (after the first few days...). Lots of movie clips. Quite interesting, and easy exams. She uses a projector that tends to shine into your eyes, so align the person in front's head to block it.
Interesting and straightforward lecturer. She makes use of multiple film clips and presents the material in a concise and understandable manner. The only assignments are a midterm & final and the readings are enjoyable. Also, attendance is mandatory - she takes roll.
Fairly easy class. Very interesting. Prof. very clear about topics. But class is mandatory so get someone to sign you in.
I don't like this professor. In her class, only one opinion is counted - HERS!
she's pretty good.
Cool class on witches! She's very clear, and classes are engaging and interesting. The exams are easy as long as you find class interesting and have a decent memory. Lots of movie clips. Lecture notes are pretty good, although sometimes I find the stuff she says is more valuable.
Quite possibly the easiest prof I've come across in UCD... I believe she could organize her lectures to be a little more cohesive. Sometimes it was difficult to understand what time era we were discussing, and some topics seemed irrelevant to the subject (witchcraft) as a whole.
easy and nice
Unbelievably easy course, but intriguing in the deepest sense. Her material and lectures force you to reaxmine social constructions of not only "the witch," but gender as a whole. Definitely worthwhile -- and not "girl-oriented" in the least.
The information given in this ten week course could easily be covered in 2-3 days. Repeats herself frequently; often you'll spend several lectures discussing the exact same topics. Though the class had some vocal man-haters (one of them was the TA), the instructor tried to be objective.

pretty interesting class. says extensive writing in the catelog but we only had two essays both were 3 pages each and she practically writes them for you. midterm easy if you use study guide. has an in class writing prompt daily for attendance. readings out of the reader but you could probably get away with not reading.
The class was easy in the sense that you could not pay attention in class and not read the text and still receive a good grade. Attendance is mandatory, and the essays are graded fairly. However, the short response part of the tests had very arbitrary grading. The MC was extremely easy.
loved this class.even though attendance was mandatory, exams and 2 essays(2 pages each) were easy. I never took notes in this class b/c she posted her lectures after class-they were word for word what she said in class. Final is basically another midterm, its not cumulative. Exams include MC and definitions that she gives beforehand.
I took her Witches course, it was fun. The essays were a little hard because of how much info had to be packed into only 2 pages, most of us agreed it would be easier if it was longer, oddly enough. Accent not a problem to understand. I liked the class and teacher.
Good class, good teacher. Two 2 page essays were really easy; she basically tells you what to write to get an A. Attendance is worth 10% of grade. Lecture notes posted online after class. Exams were painfully easy. If you study her study guides and show up to class you'll get an easy A. Lecture not podcasted.
GREAT teacher.clear lecs, posts lec notes online.interesting subjects.2 papers that were super easy, basically tells you what to put in.easy midterm and final.final took me 28min to finish all multiple choice.use study guide and will get As. def take this class! One of my best taken at davis so far!
Decent professor. Tests are easy (but often difficult to interpret. If you ask her what something on the tests means, she won't tell you, even to clarify). Attendance is 10% of your grade. Papers are the only difficulty. TA's are very picky about grammar and word use (to get the best possible grade, send your essays to TA's).
I LOVED THIS CLASS!!! It was so easy and the professor was amazing!! The tests were really easy, I usually finished in 15 mins and got A's. As long as you go to lecture and take notes you will pass. She is funny and uses awesome clips. Seriously take this class.
Very easy class. All lectures were posted online after class with full notes. Class was 10% attendance (mandatory), 30% first essay, 30% second essay, 30% midterm, and then 5% extra credit final which was optional. Didn't pay attention in class, essay and midterm were straight from posted lecture notes. On top of all that, she is really nice!
Professor Krimmer is the sweetest! I wish I could take another one of her classes just to hear her talk. The class is fairly easy. The only times you have to do work is for the 2 essays and 1 midterm. Just go to the TAs for help on the essays and you'll be okay. Easy midterm. There was an extra credit final this quarter that boosted your grade 5%.
Professor Krimmer is great! She is really nice and makes funny comments. There were two 5 page essays, the TA's want to see that you are a good writer, so edit your paper and you should be fine. The class was super interesting, especially the fairy tale witches part! Take her if you need a relatively easy GE class. Highly recommend :)
No books required, all readings online! Attendance taken during each lecture. 2 5pg papers, 1 multiple choice midterm, and 1 multiple choice final (final is optional and only for extra credit!)
This class was fun and informative. She was very organized and every class was worth going to. She broke up her lectures with movie clips that lightened the mood. The readings were all online and they weren't too hard to read. The tests were multiple choice and not hard at all. The papers were simple too. A little effort equals an A.
Super easy class. Attendance is mandatory as she has a sign-in sheet, but she posts all her lecture notes online, and that's all you need to study off of for midterm and final. 2 essays, both graded fairly easily. Midterm and final both took only about half an hour. She's also a really nice professor. Definitely take for an easy A! :)
A good 60 percent of the time I was bored and I didn't write my papers that well one an 82 and the other an 84. I got a 92 in the midterm and an 88 on the final. I had a 88 in the class so I did extra credit and somehow got an A (awesomeeee) Put in work or go to TAs for paper... not an easy A but definitely easier than chem or math! ((:
Interesting class. 2 papers, 1 midterm. Final NOT cumulative. This is an easy class, but the TA's are hard graders on papers. Get help on papers.
This class was very interesting. Go to class, take good notes, pay attention, and you will pass with flying colors. Make sure to have your essays proofread because the TA's are a critical on grading. EC worth 5% offered at the end of the course.
Class is absolutely mandatory. She takes attendance and you have to write a few sentences with a comment or opinion about lecture that day. Very easy and interesting! Goes over many fairy tales. She grades the essays liberally, just make sure you focus on grammar (this was the only points I saw taken off for). MT and Final super easy. Great class!
You think a class called Fairy Tales would be interesting but it gets boring pretty fast. Attendance is absolutely mandatory; missing lectures will definitely affect your grade. Tests are really easy; her study guides are very thorough. Good class for an easy A
She is a very nice professor who tries to make the topic very interesting. There is a lot of information though, so make sure to go to lecture since attendance is mandatory. She makes study guides for the midterm and final. 1 Midterm, 1 Final, 2 Essays, with a small writing every lecture. Overall, pretty good class to take.
Great class and professor! Lectures get boring but try to stay awake and take good notes. No final, two midterms and two essays. Both were very easy and straight forward. Do not procrastinate on the essays and you will do fine. Very picky about grammar so be careful about that. Extra credit is offered at the final lecture, only 3% for this quarter.
Professor Krimmer is a great lecturer and I found the content to be very interesting. The tests are straightforward and if you come to class (attendance is taken every lecture!) you will do well. You definitely have to put in effort for the essays but she gives you all the information you need. One of the best GE courses I've taken!
Although this class was easy, it was nothing like I thought it would be in terms of the material covered. It felt more like a history class sometimes. Additionally, professor Krimmer has a habit of repeating the same information over and over and over again. TAs grade harshly on essays. If I had the choice I wouldn't take it again.
There is only one midterm and final with a 100 question multiple choice for each and the final isn't cumulative. This is not a difficult class, so I suggest it. But be forewarned, it is very boring and you must attend class to get the 10% participation.
Attendance is mandatory and there are writing assignments at the end of each lecture. It's easy to get by in this class if you're mildly familiar with the material. The midterm and final are all based on her lecture notes and are multiple choice. The essays are graded very harshly by the TAs so I recommend going to office hours!
There were some days when I thought I would fall asleep, but there were also other days when I was really excited to learn more. Krimmer herself talks fasts and bombards you with a lot of facts, but she posts all her notes online. Just study off the notes for tests, and go to office hours for essays and this class with be pretty easy.
I thought this class was going to be A LOT easier. She lectures for the entire class and gives critical information the entire time that you need to know for the exams that is NOT on the slides. And she doesn't podcast. Essays require a lot of work. She is a nice woman but I wouldn't take this class again.
I was always excited to go to this class! Content was really interesting. Lectures have so much information and she talks really fast. Worst slides ever, but she posts her lecture notes. Attendance is 10% of the grade, but I always wanted to go to class anyway.
I thought this class was going to be superb interesting but it was BORING as f**k. She is horrible at explaining what she wants for the essays. She said my information on the second essay was inaccurate but it was on a source I had to use! I recommend not taking this class unless you want to. The lectures are really repetitive & boring.
Krimmer loves to hear herself talk. Her lectures lack direction and she spouts out random, useless info that she expects you to remember for tests. I thought we were going to read fairy tales and interpret them, instead we read academic articles about them. She also lets her TA do all the grading, and we all know TA's always have something to prove
Not an easy A.
I took the class thinking that it'll be easy, but fairy tales was much more harder than expected. Essays are harshly graded by TA, and office hours do help a bit, but I went to office hours for both essays but received little comments. Feedback for essay after grading is very poor with unclear grading rubric. Extremely easy midterm + final.
I took the fairy tales class. This class wasn't an easy A, but an easy B. I got an A, but that's after I got a B on the first midterm and started taking the class more seriously. Great lecturer and incredibly informative during office hours. Bring your essay along and she'll read it! TAs are great too and also read over essays.
took HUM13 and GER10. really EASY prof. lectures seems all over the place, but her exams are easy and straightforward - true/false mostly. the essays aren't hard (can be written literally - i mean literally - hours before its due). takes attendance. she posts readings unless she wants you to read a book. lecture might get boring sometimes.
Went into this class thinking it'd be an easy A or A+, but you actually have to work for this class. If you don't see yourself going to office hours to talk about your essay, don't take this class. It's practically impossible to get an A on the essays unless you kiss up to the TAs or ask them a bunch of questions. Krimmer is great, just a bad class
Professor Krimmer has entertaining lectures and is very passionate about what she teaches. The exams are fair, and based on what is taught during lectures. Essays are graded strictly. However, the final gradebook has only 2 exams, 2 essay scores, and attendance/participation, so there is not much to help grades if essays are not done very well.
She cares a lot about the material. Lectures are entertaining and she can be funny at times. Midterm and Final were both 100 MC questions with only A/B answers and were fairly easy if you studied (just memorizing facts). Essays were also easy as well. 5 pages double spaced and if you spent a few hours on them they were easy A's. No other HW too.
For a 4 unit class, this was easy credit. I simply showed up to lecture, diligently took notes, and did the readings at night. The lectures are heavily influenced by the readings, so it fortifies the content in your mind. Unfortunately, the final grade is most heavily influenced by the 2 papers. And the TA's are harsh graders. Be careful!
This class was an easy A. The midterm and final were easy if you pay attention in class, a few things may be very specific and briefly mentioned but those questions are limited. Attendance is mandatory but the lecture are super helpful for the papers. Essays are easy, just have a clear lay out. Overall very informative and interesting.
Lectures are very effective and tests are based heavily off material covered in class. While the midterm and final are all multiple choice and fairly easy, the papers can bring your grades down.
This class is graded by 2 tests, 2 essays, and attendance. Tests are super easy because she posts lecture notes on canvas and there are only a and b choices so its 50/50. Essays, however, are pretty difficult and if you are not a strong writer, I suggest starting it a week before and going to TA office hours.
Krimmer was a great lecturer and very kind. Really pay attention to her lectures and study hard for the final/midterm because you wanna remember everything. Essays aren't hard and TAs do not grade unfairly. Great class to take if you're looking for a chill GE. Try very hard on the midterm and final or else your grade can lowkey plummet.
The "mandatory" readings are not really useful until you need some quotes for your essay. Midterms and finals are pretty easy and are only based on her lecture notes (posted online) and not the readings. She offered extra credit which raised my midterm grade by 10%. Make sure to start essays early and get help if you're not a strong writer though.
Tests are based off of lectures. If you attend lecture then its very easy to pass as long as you take notes or have a good memory. Midterm and final are all multiple choice, 2 essays. She posts lists of key terms to know for each test as well as lecture slides. Very easy A.
This class is a pretty easy A if you study hard for the midterm/essays/final. However, the TAs do grade the essays harshly, especially on grammar and sentence structure. The midterm and final have a lot of random info mentioned briefly in lecture so know all the details. Do the daily writing assignment, as it'll boost your grade up to 3%.
If you try on the essays, study all the terms on the study guide last minute, and go to class and do the extra credit assignments, the class is an easy A. However, it is SUPER boring. Second essay requires reading a book, but I didnt and just used her notes and got an 87. Weekly reading assugnments are useless except for finding quotes.
I really liked Professor Krimmer's lectures. Her exams are pretty easy, you just have to memorize everything. The TAs grade the papers pretty harshly though, so make sure you go to their office hours. I wouldn't say this class is an easy A, but you can still get an A if you put in the work.
Overall, this class was not bad. Good GE to take and not many assignments (2 essays), but definitely take advantage of office hours. Tests are based on the lectures but definitely try to get down everything she says because you will be tested on it.
She's a really tough grader and if you are from Germany taking a german class with her, she will grade you unfairly. Her lectures are very informative and I learned a lot, but this class is not an easy A. Like I said if you are from Germany or have a german speaking background, she will grade you very harshly compared to the other student's.
Krimmer is nice, her class consists of one midterm and two essays. Don't take this class unless you're good at writing essay! Lectures are sometimes very boring, the midterm and final are all multiple choice questions but with only two answer options, which is nice but can be difficult if you did not study in depth. essays are harshly graded.
She can be a little bit boring from time to time but she is fair. Extremely understanding of the circumstances for this spring quarter and adjusts accordingly. The class consists of 2 essays and 1 midterm, but if you pay attention to her notes, it should be pretty easy to pass with an A.
Prof. Krimmer is a true gem! Though her lectures can be boring at times, she engages in them and provides good side conversation relating to the lesson. The class consists of 2 essays and 1 midterm. If you read all the notes you take in class and the notes she provides, you'll get an A. The Crucible is the only required book. Great Class!
Papers and reading were tough sometimes but this was a good class overall. The lectures were a little disorganized, but Professor Krimmer posted her lecture notes, slides, and recordings for everything so it was easy to clear things up for lecture summary assignments. Overall a very reasonable class.
I took GER 10 over Winter 2021. The class itself is pretty easy and consists of 3 papers and quizzes. Never knew when the quizzes were but were all based on lecture notes which were provided. Papers were graded on an opinionated scale. Even went to OH to try and improve the papers but ended up getting the same grade for the rest of the papers.
Attendance assignments 20%, Essay 1 20%, Essay 2 20%, Quizzes 40%. Watch lectures (they're live & recorded) and take notes to submit 100% for your participation. Essay grades depend on your TA but fairly straightforward. Quizzes are CTRLF through notes she provides for us. Probably much harder in person because she said they're not open-notes.
A fun and easy GE! She gives you lecture notes, which are helpful for her open-note tests. There were two essays throughout the quarter. Some people complained about essay prompts being too open-ended, but they were basic prompts essentially just asking you to come up with a thesis based on the lectures and readings, not graded harshly. Recommend.
All professors should learn from professor Krimmer. This is how you do lectures. They are fun, interesting, and engaging. The essays are simple enough. The quizzes are online and open-note. What I love about this professor is that you can tell she really cares about the well-being of her students. Definitely, the best class I have taken so far.
Really accommodating! She answers as many questions as possible and will have good discussions during lecture. GER10 only has two essays and homework is very manageable. Take good notes for open-note quizzes and get started outlining essays early and the class will be easy. As long as you communicate, Krimmer will do as much as she can to help.
Krimmer is an amazing lecturer, and all quizzes are online. She tells you what lectures to use for each of the quizzes - there isn't a final. Attending lectures is mandatory. The essays are a little strange - the requirements are particular so it feels as if you're writing to check everything off her list rather than write to explain your thoughts.
Professor Krimmer is a great lecturer and all the quizzes were online and you were able to use lecture notes. She does take attendance during lecture so it is mandatory but her lectures give you all the information you need for quizzes and essays. There are only 2 essays the whole quarter and she gives great advice about them during office hours.
Professor Krimmer is quite literally such a joy to be around, I am always looking forward to her class and her personality is just amazing, she makes me laugh a lot. Her essays can be difficult but she provides so much help. One thing that is kind of off is that her quiz questions are sometimes worded strangely, but they are open note so its okay.
Professor Krimmer was very kind, lenient, and understanding. When I was sick she gave me a paper extension (4 days) and didn't mark me as absent. The weekly assignments consist of writing 3 facts from the lecture and that was that. The tests were open book, meaning you could look at your notes or the slides.
The class consist of 3-4 tests which were open book and multiple choice. Each multiple choice question had two options meaning that you had a 50-50 chance of getting it either right or wrong. I would suggest taking advantage of the slides as they typically had the answers explicitly on them. Professor Krimmer is exceptionally nice.
Overall a great prof. She likes what she teaches and cares about her students. Class was based on 4 quizzes, 2 essays. Attendance is mandatory, lectures are recorded. You have to pay attention to what she says in lecture and take good notes. Essay prompts were confusing but she's gives extensions. All quizzes online and open note, no final.
She's honestly fine. Her lectures tend to be a bit dense and for a person with a low attention span, it was hard focusing on her lectures. However, it's clear she really is passionate about what she teaches and can be pretty funny at times. The TA who graded my essays was extremely nitpicky on the accuracy of my arguments which was pretty annoying.
I took this class as a GE. I thought the lectures were well done and she clearly cares about the subject. The work load was not too difficult. There were little assignments for each class but were very easy. There were 2 essays and 4 open note online quizzes throughout the quarter (No final!). I would definitely recommend this class!
i found her okay. lectures were informative and she's clearly passionate. she's lenient with extensions and generally quite kind but grading can be harsh, especially on essays. deviations from the prompt or standard essay style are punished. sometimes she and her TA feel set in their ways. workload is reasonable.
(winter 25) I really liked her class! It can be a bit repetitive at times but I found the content interesting and the essays were not too difficult. The quizzes were open note and online, very easy to get a good grade. attendance is mandatory but I'm unsure about the details on how many classes you can miss. She seems very nice and is pretty funny.
Krimmer is a nice professor, but GER 010 is so unengaging and speeds through roughly 75 slides per class (usually not enough time to write down what is on the important slides, the information is needed for the 50 question quizzes). There is a lot of busywork and attendance is mandatory. Work is doable, just a lot of it and not interesting.
She's very passionate and the workload isn't bad. She kinda speeds through lecture slides and it isn't engaging if you aren't interested in the topic, but there's lecture notes and slides in canvas. Quizzes are open-notes, no time limit, and very simple questions. She gives a lot of resources for help on the essays.
Amazing professor!! Such an interesting class and easy take-home quiz and final. This class is very easy and also lets you learn about fairy tales. Class is mandatory, but it's great.
