She is a great teacher with a lot of personality. Very helpful and responds to e-mail quickly. She hand walks you through everything, gives great handouts. If you show up for class and put in any effort you can get a great grade.

took her for both Econ/Bus law. great teacher who cares about students understanding the material. lectures are all topical to her tests and she uses real world experience to convey material to her students. xtra credit for presentations. Great professor.

Great teacher. Economics is not just math. Lectures and discussion about GDP or the Federal Reserve in the news or how bond rates are impacted by the trade deficit IS economics! Sure, roster was long through the last week, but that's the price for taking from a popular prof. and for a good reason.

I like economics and she made it more interesting when I took her class. I'm a slacker when it comes to work, just for the reasons I have too many responsibilities and all. I liked her class. The syllabus might scare you, but it is easier if you follow along.

I think that she was nice, and cool. Like a regular person, she does not put pressure on you. If you study a night before the class session, then it will clear the next day.

Dr.shapiro was an awesome teacher. I really enjoyed her class during the summer. I learned so much. I totally recommend people taking her class if you wanted hands on learning. But you have to put in effort to get a good grade. =)

Good explanations...good class overall

She is a little weird, but overall she knows her subject really well. The notes are clear, but her lectures can be confusing. It is a good idea to request a study guide before the test. It will be very helpful.

Great professor. If you have a question, she gets back to you right away. As long as you're willing to learn the technology and be honest with yourself about your own effort, you'll get alot out of this class.

I think that Professor Shapiro is a very nice teacher who cares about her students and their understanding of the material completely. She goes out of her way to make sure you get it! One of the most careing teachers at Southwestern.

I took this class as a hybrid. She had different assignments for the hybrid and the on line students. Both classes participated in the DB and there were weekly tests. Tests were easy if you read the book, only 10 ?'s and it was not timed. Classes consisted of lecture and group discussions. I would recommend this class and Prof to anyone.

You can't go wrong with Prof. Shapiro She's the best!! She makes sure the students understand the concepts & loves student participation. The only homework is 1 online quiz each week which is only like 10 questions. She gives you all her notes from powerpoint lectures. Really it dosen't get simpler then that!!

Most excellent, really cares about her work and students. a little hyper on the first day but stick with her. Hightly qualified and brings her life experiences to bear in class. Is open to feedback. If I can, will take another class with her.

Professor Shapiro is an awesome instructor and I really enjoyed her Wills and Trust class I had with her in my Paralegal Studies class. This is a great professor. The classes are interesting and often lively. The materials are well organized. And the tests and quizzes relate EXACTLY to what is taught. This is also a highly caring professor.

Good all around professor

ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. REALLY HELPFULL. REALLY SMART TEACHER, AND IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM GETTING STUCK IN SOMETHING FROM THE CLASS SHE'S ALWAYS THERE TO HELP YOU UNDERSTAND. easy a. Most Chill professor taken so far. She has quizzes online but are take home. so ur able to use notes and book. dont really need book since she gives powerpoint copies of what she teaches. and u can write notes on them. she doesnt leave hw. only reading. if thats hw. haha

It was a great class. I took it for summer and it was fairly easy 99 % of the class got an A. And it wasn't boring at all. Take it or ask for the class if u want an easy learning and fun class for Pol Sci 102.

I took this class during summer. we watched some good movies/do****entaries. Mrs. Shapiro made class interesting and excitng. Knows alot about how things work. Dont really need the text book if you listen enough. Interesting class. I recommend to everyone. Just show up, do your work, participate and you'll get an A.

Prof Shapiro is great! she knows tons of stuff and she will make you be interested in politics. The key in this class is participation, and homework. Totally recomendable AAAAAAA!

Fun class!! It was taken outside the text book to more relevant issues that are happening today!..with information that you would actually use in life! Attend class everyday, do the homework, and you'll get everything you need out of the class!..and ask questions! Shes very helpful!

Prof. Shapiro is a great teacher. She is genuinely concerned about the well-being of all her students and wants to make sure they succeed. Granted Business Law is not one of the most exciting subjects in the world, but she made the class as fun as possible. Easy to get along with and clear as far as what she expects of students. She is friendly and easy to contact over the internet. Her test are really easy but one a couple of them it is hard to understand the questions because of some of the typos. Her discussion board grading is tough because she says reply to other students but doesn't give full points. If she teaches any other online classes she would be a good pick.

Prof Shapiro is in the top five on my list of favorite professors! For someone with a law degree, she has a good sense of humor and makes the class fun. Quizzes are usually 5 questions and done online so that you can use the text. No homework! Almost 80% of the class had a B average grade. PS Her sis, Dr. Sharon Shapiro, is a Bio prof at SWC.

In person Business Law: This professor is fun, up-beat and organized. She really cares about students and how much we learn for the real world.

Great teacher. A lot of work, however Professor Shapiro distributes the work evenly through out the semester. I was terrified of this class, but Professor Shapiro made it easy.

She made the class very interesting with discussions regarding current topics in business law. I thought she was funny and goofy which made a lot of students feel more comfortable in the class room. She was fair and humble. Talked to students with respect and had very creative ways to help students learn. She practices good ethics and cares that you learn the material for real world situations. You would not regret having her as a teacher.

This was my first class after taking a long break from school. I was afraid that my study skills would not be up to par. Prof. Shapiro made the class fun and easy to learn. She had great stories that made her very approachable. I would recommend her class to anyone.

One of my all time favorite teachers! She made the class fun and interesting and there were alwasy oppurtunities for extra credit!

One of the best teachers I have ever had. She took the time to make everything she taught relatable to our lives. She offered a lot of extra credit points by asking the students questions and if you knew the answer, you got a point, simple right. More than anything it felt like she wanted her students to learn and understand what she was teaching.

She was a really good teacher that makes attendance a large part of participation. Reading from the book etc for online quizzes. Class had several opportunities for extra Credit. Overall excellent and fun class.

She is great, helps as much as she can to make sure you understand the material. Just go to class every day, read the chapters, do the quizzes online, and you will get an A on the class because there are not surprises on the midterm or final. I would take her again...

TAKES ATTENDANCE. LETS YOU USE NOTECARDS ON THE TESTS. SOME ONLINE QUIZES. I WOULD HAVE JUST RENTED THE BOOK INSTEAD OF BUYING IT, YOU CAN USE OLD EDITIONS IT STILL WORKS. GOOD TEACHERKNOWS HER STUFF, SURE ID TAKE HER AGAIN.

Very wise professor that teaches the material well. Must read the chapters to do good in the midterm and final, which are the only exams there are. She also gives online quizzez. The class is not so hard as long as you keep up with the readings. She lets you use a notecard with notes for the exams. Funny and great teacher. I recommend her. :)

Professor Shapiro is one of the most knowledgeable at southwestern. Takes attendance. Only two tests in the class-midterm and final. She gives you a study guide for both which makes them super easy to study for. She is really funny & makes law interesting!! TAKE HER if you want someone who is straightforward & not boring!

Great Teacher, Prints out handouts of slides for you. Theres a midterm and a final that are not overwhelming as long as you study. she allows one note card for both exams. I definitely recommend her for business law. I was intimidated about the subject before taking the class but she made it easy to understand.

Professor shaperio has her "stuff" together. She really has a passion for the legal aspects of business and has taught me stuff that I will most certainly use in the business world.

I took the course online and was still able to experience Professor Shapiro's helpfulness. She helped me anytime I contacted her via email. Of course, like any course, you'll need to work and study to get the grade you want. And if you put in the time and effort into the course you will be able to achieve your desired grade.

No homework and no writing papers

This is a professor worth taking. She knows what she is talking about and she makes class very enjoyable and interesting. There are quizzes but if you read the chapters you will be fine. I would definitely take her again.

Clear and simple as how classes are supposed to be. Clear grading criteria. Clear way to process information and easy to remember. Each case reviewed in class is something I can see myself remembering in a few years from this class. Read chapters, answer questions, that's it!

Took the online course on a fast track. One of the best decisions I have ever made. Only 4 total discussion forums, but quizzes weekly. Forums are extremely easy, quizzes are a little more difficult but very manageable. I got an A with so little effort it's ridiculous

I took her online accelarated course. I Appreciate the organization of her modules. Obviously expect to keeping up with readings. There are 2 chapters a week and two quizzes. Not bad and easy if you keep up. She gives an extra credit assignment that will boost your grade if you screwed up on a few quizzes. She responds quickly even on weekends.

This was my first time taking an online class. I had a good experience because she is very structured. There are weekly quizzes and a discussion. She is an easy grader and appreciates effort. Her quizzes require minimal reading and cover two chapters. Overall, she is a caring professor. I would totally reccomend taking this class!

I def got a lot out of this class. There's quite a bit of hw and quizes every week but there are videos and the book is helpful. All open book since it's an online class. This was an 8 week course for me so it was heavier than it might be for most.

Prof. Shapiro is very hands off which I liked. This course was a very cut and dry 8 weeks. I had a full course load including a 4 unit chem class, 2 distance learners and I traveled out of state for a week and was able to keep up just fine. I appreciated the routine with this class. I'd absolutely recommend this professor 100%

I had a great teacher, Professor Shapiro, who gave us the choice of how we wanted to learn. She gave thorough feedback on assignments and took the time to review our work. The class lasted 8 weeks and included helpful quizzes that matched the readings. We also had discussions that helped us understand the material better.

Pretty easy class I mean you would have about 2 quizzes each week and sometimes a discussion post but nothing more. Just make sure you do the quizzes and homework. Everything is online.

Just had a few discussions and tests that were very easy. Very clear with what needed to be done. Would definitely take again
