Enthusiastic about what she teaches, doesn't go to fast, moderate homework

Likes discussion a lot but sometimes can go off on a tangent. Tests are kind of hard. Class is a little boring but definitely knows what she's talking about. Overall is pretty good.

Very nice teacher!! Explains the material well, doesn't make you do a lot of busy work and has a great sense of humor. More professors should look at her ratings and take a hint.

By far one of the best teachers I've ever had. Great sense of humor. It's too bad the university doesn't see that they're losing their best asset in the german department.

Boring lectures, but she is very intellectual and interesting

She is knows a lot of information. Be prepared to sit for 1 1/2 hours of writting. That is all the class is lectures. Test are difficult because you fall asleep in class.

a lot of lecture, tests are pretty easy and she gives a study guide for each test, and is very willing to work with you, and never had to write paper...

Awesome teacher! I really liked this class. I looked forward to going to this class every day. She's not easy, but you know what is expected of you. Makes class interesting with her enthusiasm, humor. Is very intellegent.

Always lets you turn in 2 copies of papers and uses the higher score, meets with you to help correct them as well. Interesting conversations in class.

My all time favorite teacher! Amazingly intelligent and passionate woman. Lectures can be a bit dry, avoid early morning classes, but I really can't say enough about her as a person or as a professor.

I really got a lot out of this class. She is very knowledgable about what she's teaching and makes her expectations very clear. If you're willing to participate in class you'll learn a lot!

She can be pretty boring so if you can don't take her at 7:45. She is excited about what she is teaching and shows it in class. Group projects suck and you can't get many wrong on the exams or you will get a bad grade. Overall pretty good teacher.

Probably one of the nicest teachers at the whole U. You will get homework every day but you learn in this class. Tests and quizzes are pretty easy.

By far the nicest teacher I've had so far. I have worried about German in college but she made it so comfortable. You learn a lot in class and the quizes are tests are not too hard. Has a great sense of humor too!!! Take Her if you get the chance

Awesome professor. Tests are relatively easy. She's very nice and always exteremely helpful. It was tough getting up for an 8:50 German class and I missed more than my share but she doesn't grade on attendance and seems to grade on what you do on tests. Take her if you can.

Seems knowledgeable about Germany and the language but little, if anything else. Appears to be a pretty nice person though, and her class was fair.

very helpful and actually makes a class not a burdent to attend. understands we don't really know the language too well at the 201 level and makes learning it as easy as possible

She's a really great teacher, honestly cares about the student's grasp on things. Tests are pretty easy, with a couple of exceptions. Friday Culture things SUCK though, and you have to go to ten, it's a pain because you're with a guy who doesn't really give a crap.

At first i thought Women's Studies was going to be a boring class, but she makes the class very interesting. She is genuinely interested in each student and class topics are usually engaging. I would recommend any man or woman to take this class.

she shows interesting movies and guest speakers, her grading scale is very easy, you earn points and you can do many things to earn those points.

I don't know if it was the class or Ms. Denlinger, but I didn't like women's studies. The work that she makes you do outside of class is immense! You don't always have to go to class, just give your Q card to somebody else to turn in. She gives you study guides for her tests, if you study these, you'll be fine!

I really came out of the class not liking Women's Studies... I was open to the ideas, but did not agree with them because the points were so strog. There is a lot of busy work... so be prepared to work for your grade.

She ROCKS!! Sh'e the nicest lady ever. I learned a great deal about german.Class is very structured, homework or quiz everyday but it's easy. She tells you all the info that will be on the quizzes and exams prior to which is nice. I got a B and I didnt really try!! If you get a chance take this class!!

Denlinger rules! She is very nice and intelligent. She tells you everything that will be on the tests so there are no suprises. The two toughest things we covered, she gave as take homes. Easy if you study a little bit.

Great teacher, seriously. This is a hard class to teach without jamming feminism down your throat, but she does it great, and without taking extreme sides on subjects. I came out learning a lot about sexuality and gender, hard topics to take in sometimes. I recommend taking her, not a hard class to get an A/B at all. Go Denlinger!!!

She is the best professor I have had so far. Her class is structured so you can follow along and do well. She tells you basically everything that is on the tests beforehand so you can study. She is a great professor, sweet and kind---take her!

It's a pretty easy class, but you have to do a lot of projects to get an A. The feminist stuff gets a little overdone sometimes, but other times it's really interesting. Tests aren't too bad- she gets pretty picky with short answer questions.

Not too challenging of a class, although you do have to make an effort if you want an A. Notes she gives can be kinda disorganized, but the class itself was really interesting and I learned a lot. This class was an eyeopener, esp. for a WASP like me.

extremely passionate, very nice lady, feels close enough to the class to become personal with examples which helps understand some points better, I learned so much and was able to think in a different way, the class is so good the grade shouldn't matter but it is an easy A

She is really passionate about the subject. She goes out of her way to get interesting speakers to come to class and great videos. I learned so much from this class. You definitely have to study for the exams and write a few papers, but I definitely recommend it.

She is such a sweet lady. Helpful on every assignment and test and is very understanding on turning in assignments late. Take her if possible!

She is a really nice lady and the assignments are very easy. She cares a lot about the subject and brings a lot of interesting videos as well as speakers to class. I would recommend her class to anyone.

Nice lady, passionate. A lot of reading though, grades on points not percentages so you can raise your grade easily. I'd recommend her

She is one amazing professor. If you do the assignments and come to class you'll ace everything. Her exams can be hard though. She is extremely personable and loves to get to know her students.

Loved this class! I came in with 5 years of german in High school, but still thought I didn't know anything. I think I learned more in this class then the 5 years prior. Tests are fine if you study the outline she gives you, come to class and you'll get a good grade

Very nice lady! Her lectures can get a little long but they are usually interesting. She has a good mix of lectures, movies and speakers. Good teacher to take!

She isn't a bad teacher at all. Its fairly easy, but some busy work. 90 minutes gets very boring though and you will never get out early.

She gives daily assignments (book work) that she goes over in class every day. Very easy. She loves going on LONG rants about grammar. Her tests are very easy, and she gives review sheets for them. Sie ist eine gute Leherin.

She gives daily homework, but it only takes about 5 minutes. She likes to go on about grammar. Very helpful and is really concerned about how much you are learning.

Such a nice, funny, & passionate woman. She calls on random people throughout discussions to make sure everyone is listening. She is a very fair grader. Quizzes and Tests are easy if you just listen and take a few notes. Do your homework, sometimes she grades it, sometimes she doesnt. Overall, she is a great professor. GET INTO HER GERMAN CLASSES!

I loved Denlinger-TAKE HER! I learned a lot of interesting information from this class, definitely opened up my eyes. And no, she is not a white-man-hater, and she makes that very clear. There is a midterm and a final, with a lot of papers but she grades pretty easily from my personal experience. Watch lots of movies and have lots of guest speakers

Extremely helpful and overall a pleasant professor. I would recommend her to anyone in the German department. She has a lot of stories but they are entertaining and pertain to the course material. Loved this class and I'm not the greatest German speaker.

Frau Denlinger is a wonderful professor. Her class is very very easy, but I learned a lot in her class still. She's such a sweetheart and will go out of her way to answer any questions. She moves at a slow pace to accommodate all the students makes the class incredibly easy. I loved going to the class though.

her lectures get a bit dry because she often throws statistics out at you, she incorporates a lot of different teaching methods including videos, speakers, etc. class is pretty easy and she is a really great and passionate lady and truly wants everyone to succeed. recommend!!

Very nice lady - lectures are easy to follow and she makes things interesting with lots of videos and speakers. There are a lot of readings and several miscellaneous papers that are hard to keep track of, but nothing too demanding.

Frau Denlinger is an excellent teacher! She is passionate about teaching, and will help anyone who asks. She keeps the class interesting and incorporates grammar into her lessons. I highly recommend taking her class!

The class is so boring unless there is a movie or panel which I would say there is 60% of the time. She won't let you do papers early really which is kind of annoying. She is really nice! It's an ok class for a gen ed. If you want to go into Womens Studies though i'm sure you would love her!

One of my favorite professors so far at UWL. Such a nice person, willing to do anything for every student she has. Makes class interesting, fun, and easy to follow.

She is super awesome!!! After taking this class, I decided to change my major to WGS and she was super helpful with that process! The class is super easy and really interesting. She takes attendance. but you're allowed to miss one or two classes. I would definitely recommend taking her!!!

In my top 5 favorite professors at UW-L. She is the sweetest woman and seems to genuinely care about her students. I absolutely recommend taking this class as a gen. ed. It will open your eyes, whether or not you've taken a women's studies class before. I preferred this class to those in my majors!

Very interesting class and very nice lady! You can tell she really loves what she does, and it makes you care about the class, even though it's a Gen-Ed. I would recommend this class to anyone who doesn't mind reading. As long as you actually do the readings and come to class, just a little bit of studying for the tests will get you an A!

this class is an easy gen ed and you learn interesting stuff about birth control and abortion. easy assingments, easy grader. i never read. tests are okay, but i hardly studied.

I loved this class and professor; very easy class with essays that if you read the instructions she will most likely give you full credit. The material is interesting and I took a lot away from this course. Would definitely recommend her to anyone. Very nice lady.

I didn't have high expectations before this class, but it ended up being one of my favorites! There are always guest speakers, and I thought her lectures were really interesting. As long as you follow the directions on assignments you get 100%. I actually read the reading assignments and filled out the study guides, but then I never had to study!

Awesome professor! Multiple grammar/vocab quizzes, which really helps you learn the material before the chapter test. Very helpful and eager to answer questions and help you in any way that she can. I would definitely recommend taking German with her!

Absolutely take her if you can. Super friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable. A few really easy papers(really hard NOT to get 100 on those), and 3 tests. Know the concepts for the class and you are golden, a lot of reading, but its all really interesting stuff. Guest speakers a lot too. Great class/teacher, I'm taking her again someday!

She is an excellent professor. WGS100 with Elise is that perfect mix of really easy and also really interesting. There are a couple of "papers" that are more like reflection journals everyone can get 100 on and the tests are not hard. If you are taking this class- take with her!

Amazing professor and overall woman! She is very educated and passionate about German. A lot of book work, but it takes 5 minutes at most for an assignment. She taught a lot of proper German but also a lot of cool slang that is very useful. I highly recommend her.

I was not looking forward to this class but Elise made it so much better. There are very few tests, and assignments for that matter. They are all pretty easy. Lectures can get very long and boring. However there are some days where you watch movies or have people come talk. If you need to take for gen-ed requirement I highly recommend.

I took this for a gen ed requirement, but I loved it so much! Denlinger is so passionate about this subject and always has a lot of real life examples to back up the course material. The tests were pretty easy even though I only studied the night before. Would recommend taking this class.

Good class. Denlinger was a great professor. She brings in good ideas and makes her students think about topics. Reading is a must. She gives chapter review sheet. I would just read to answer those questions and study the review sheet. Put in the effort and you'll get a good grade.

I loved Prof. Denlinger. Easily my favorite class of the semester. She made class very interesting and the guest speakers that came in were amazing to listen to. She for sure knows what she is talking about and does a really good job of using different teaching styles to help you grasp the concepts. I am way more interested in women's studies now.
